Guest Reviews
- Niclas (6/5): - The toilet had no door and there were no storage for cloth. Should be in the description when booking.
- Anna Katharina (4/5): Leider kein Hotel. Lage gut!
- Jane (8/5): - Great location and very clean. No door on the toilet took a minute to get used to! Not for mobility challenged - narrow spiral staircase. Wifi was very reliable and hotel great fit for us.
- Jillian (10/5): - Excellent accommodation. However, you would struggle with a suitcase to go up the spiral staircase.
Accueil impersonnel (textos )
- Victoria (4/5): - Seriously overpriced for what it is (been to Paris many times), horrible for couples. It’s not even the smaller than usual room size and abscence of natural light, there were ways to add a bathroom door but the designers just chose not to - don’t recommend their “”comfort” double” for 1+ people and 1+ night. I see that in response to other reviews they recommend their suite - that’s even more overpriced. A few positives apart from location, locker option was convenient, staff communication via iMessage worked. Steep stairs are a consideration and I myself wouldn’t be able to carry the heave suitcase upstairs
- Mariya (10/5): - Highly recommend. Great location. The space is a litte small but totally worth it.
- Patricia (10/5): - Rooms are small but practical! Their team is not onsite but great customers service via email and text! I was a bit surprised that there were no elevators. If you have more than a carry on or back pack. Request a room in the 1st or 2nd floor. The team was able to assist me with this immediately and I will forever be grateful. I will be back soon. With less suitcases and more time!
- Anna (10/5): - Hotel molto carino, check in facile e veloce. Servizio di deposito bagagli comodissimo. Disponibili a check in anticipato. Camera pulita e seppur contenuta negli spazi assolutamente funzionale.
- NIVALDO FELIPE (2/5): HORRIBLE HOTEL - The room didnt have door at the bathroom and toilet. Pictures does not reflect the reality! Horrible
- Alexandra (10/5): - so great!
- MANUEL (8/5): - .
- Maura Del Carmen (10/5): - I like everything but the only think that it didn’t work properly it was the wi-fi. You guys tried hard to fix it but still didnt work.
- Ira (8/5): - Very friendly staff wanting to please. Holding your luggage after checkout is a real plus
- Rubi (10/5): - If you travel solo or with partner super convenient and cozy. Good wifi. Nice bathroom small but cute
- Aneet (8/5): - Nice cosy little hotel with friendly helpful staff. In a great location to explore heart of Paris. Walking distance from Notre Dame, Louvre and variety of cafés, restaurants, and shopping centres. Only issue is no lifts and spiral staircase,so may be a challenge for those with excessive luggage or problems getting up such stairs. However, that wasn't much concern for us and enjoyed our experience there.
- john (8/5): - Enjoyable stay very small room but very clean and comfortable did what we needed
- Mayelin (10/5): - .
- Karla Grethel (10/5): - Good
- Daniela (2/5): - Our room had no A/C. The room and hotel are very small and there is no elevator. Also, the stairs are tiny and narrow. Do not stay here it’s horrible.
- Trine (2/5): Terrible eksperience!!! - We went to stay for one night 14 th july. We were 2 adults 1 kid 5 years and a baby 9 month. We notified that we had a baby with us, and read that we could have a baby bed in the room. There were no people upon arrival and all we got was a mail saying code for the main entrence, room nr and code for the room. We had a buggy for the kid, but there were no where to put it. Then we saw a woman (maybe cleaning personal) she said we had to take it to the room. The buggy is a little big and the stairs where going up in circles. I notified her that it was not ditting the stairs two floors up. I ask if it was possible to have it elsewhere. I think she did not completely understood me, cause she said different things at first. After a few minutes she agreed to let it stay in the narrow hall. When we went up the stairs with our heavy suitcases and kids there were a some leftovers from a plom left there. The room was ok cleaned. We came to a family room where there were two rooms. A bedroom and tv room. Like ind the pics. BUT! The sofa was made for a bed. So i had to sleep on a sofa with my little baby ... i paid lots of money to sleep on a sofa, no thanks you!!! Also no air-conditioning, so when we came home to the hotelroom (more like guestroom) ! 30°.
We went to see where the breakfast was hold. It was placed in a mole stinky basement (not vary food inviting) we had to leave at 8 but there were no breakfast at that hour apparently.
The only good thing i really can say is the lokatio
- Annalisa (6/5): - On a quiet street and it felt safe. I don’t like that there is no concierge. Rooms were tight. Very clean.
- seyed Farshad (10/5): - It's a hotel very close to the core of Paris with resonable price,
The room area is very compact but clean, new renovatad and enough equipments.
- Anita (2/5): - This is NOT a Hotel. This is an Air B&B, there is no front desk staff to greet you, there is no front desk staff at all. The property has no elevator & the staircase is very narrow. Worst of all there was larvae in the bed. This was the worst place I have ever stayed in. DO NOT STAY HERE
- Chari (8/5): - The hotel is located in Chinatown so there were a lot of options for food. It is an easy walk to the Republique metro - line 9 - which is great for getting around.
There is a restaurant/bar immediately next door and right across the street so it does get a bit loud at night, but the windows were good for keeping sound out. However, with no a/c (as is common) windows open is needed. We went to the bar across the street - a charming local place, and Horiz which is a restaurant right down the road that was good. There is no one on property ever. So, if you are looking for someone to ask questions it's text. We assisted an elderly couple who were very confused about why there was no one there. We walked them through how to read the text about getting a room door code and another guest who also happened to be there helped them with luggage storage. One nit - the railing to get up to the rooms (narrow spiral staircase) was sticky! Perhaps the cleaners could give it a good wipe down.
- Kaushal (2/5): - Great location , awesome staff , terrible for family , good for couple , won’t stay again
- Kaushal (4/5): Great location & Staff , Not suitable for family - The staff was very responsive and cooperative and the location of the property is really amazing , so if you are a young couple and need a place to crash right in the middle of Paris it’s an awesome choice but the property is not at all family friendly specially with small kids , there are no elevator and the stairs are just winding in a small space , the room size is super small , all of us were hitting the door knobs getting in and out of the room, my wife got bruises , there were no AC and it was crazy during the hot summer but the property did provided additional fan. Overall a real location with great access to multiple food options , transportation and near by attractions but when you pay top dollars with family you expect more comfort , better space and all. So not family friendly et all at the such premium cost.
- Birgit (8/5): - Great value for a place in central Paris/Marais. Great location, quiet and clean. However, there was a loo but no door to shut off the toilet corner. That’s pretty bad.
- Jesús Iván (8/5): - The location is good, and the place is clean and well-decorated. The room is very small, and there's no privacy with the bathroom/shower
- Kelly (10/5): - Stayed here on our first night in Paris, the staff was extremely helpful and quick with responses. Made accommodations to leave our bags while we explored the city. Our room was very clean and we really enjoyed our stay ! Definitely recommend.
- Raul (8/5): - Estaba muy padre la habitación
- Jacquelyn (10/5): - Very clean and thoughtful to have a fan in each room. Easy to navigate with virtual check in.
- Dennis (10/5): - Cute little room.
- Giulianna (10/5): - We loved our stay, the place was perfect in every way!
- Philip (2/5): - Very small room, lack of simple maintenance (toilet roll holder hanging off the wall, flaking paint) , lavatory behind the headboard
- Michael (10/5): - Delightful small hotel in the Marais. Small and economical rooms. Rooms might not be good for those who have difficulty walking (have to navigate typical stairs in this type of building —no elevator). Staff is very friendly. Quiet location
Toller Service! Vielen Dank!
- Carmel (8/5): - Clean and pl
- Siddarth (10/5): - Good location with lots of restaurants near by. The room was clean and well maintained. No elevators but it was mentioned in the description already. Good experience overall.
- Lesvia Maribel (10/5): - Excelente very recomemendable we love it very clean
- Scott (10/5): - I enjoyed my stay very much. Lovely small hotel that was very convenient to everything.
- Jean (10/5): - Great location!
Vivamente consigliato!
- Andy (8/5): - Leuk verblijf gehad
- Russell (6/5): - We had a fabulous time , weather was sunny.
- Rafael (10/5): Amazing place , easily accessible - Hôtel propre, rénové il as pas longtemps.
Localisation magnifique, facile à bouger n’importe où.
- Bernice (6/5): - Stairs too tiny & a bit run down. Bedroom & shower decent but sofa was not clean & no coffee table or kettle for tea. Quite a gap from the pictures
- Rosirma (6/5): Muito bom - Muito bom, ótima limpeza, confortável.
- Melanie (10/5): - It was in Chinatown which was beautiful! I had two rooms for the price of one. Streaming television, sky lights.
- Angel (10/5): - Recomendadisimo ! Muy buena zona
- Danielle (10/5): - Convenient as it was close to the metro. Outside of the hustle and bustle of Paris. We were worried as we arrived after lobby hours, however all the information we needed to get into the room was sent to us; making it super easy. Quaint area and accommodations.
- Luis G (8/5): - The place is really nice, although no elevator
However I would said that when you look for a hotel is so there is easy access to it, this is a bit different as we have to wait for the person to give us access instead of getting to the reception and get the correct information.
Over all it was good staying there
- Clara (6/5): - We had a lovely trip, the only things that made the stay difficult were a lack of bathroom door (toilet was right around the corner from the bed) and the walls/floors were extremely thin. Otherwise a great location!
- Pablo (8/5): - The hotel team was very responsive over WhatsApp and keep us posted before and during the trip.
Location is good, lots of dining options around an felt safe (but quiet) at night.
The luggage storage option and reliable wifi are solid perks.
- Ruby (10/5): - Loved the location of this property and late check in was super easy with this hotel.
- tom (6/5): - Shower wasnt working on first floor the family room so had to change to 4th floor room and with no elevator and 2 year old wasnt the easiest as they're very narrow and winding stairs, rooms were cleaned everyday which was nice, and the shower was lovely, beds werent too comfortable and only one pillow, and would of been handy to have a bin in the room, but for the price cant complain too much and its in a good location as well.
- Magdalena (8/5): - Excelente ubicación, varios restaurantes alrededor, fácil acceso
- Gretchen (8/5): - The only bad thing was that there was no elevator and hard to manuber four stories with bags
- Gretchen (8/5): - This hotel was nice but it had no elevator and they have six floors.
- Cynthia (10/5): - Love the security and hospitality. Reception was very helpful and courteous. Love the rooms. They were a great size and the beds were so comfortable!
- Susan (10/5): - Great room, very comfortable and efficient. Check in was very confusing as it was all electronic, even though I arrived during suggested hours. Once I received a text with information, everything went smoothly.
- Nicole (6/5): - The photos very accurately represent the hotel (it is small). There was a decent amount of mold in the bathroom but the front desk staff was very kind and helpful with whatever we needed
- Kendle (10/5): - Was a great hotel!
- alison (6/5): No reception after 3pm and no lift (spiral stairs) - This hotel does not have a receptionist after 3pm, which I hadn’t appreciated when I booked it as I would have booked somewhere else. The number supplied by hotels.com was incorrect and so eventually, after lots of googling, I managed to make contact with a remote reception who sent me a text message with access codes. Our confirmation has said we had suite 102, first floor, when in-fact we were given room 502 on the fifth floor. We had lots of luggage as we were on our way to our summer holiday in Italy, and the hotel did not have a lift, so making our way up to the fifth floor via a spiral staircase was no fun and ruined the stay for us.
- Maya (6/5): - This property is in a nice location, walkable. The space is tiny (much smaller than the pictures indicated) and there is no air conditioning. We were there in 30 C weather and the place was uncomfortably hot. The hostess was friendly and the room was clean. Check in was easy and we felt safe.
- Jorge Eugenio Barneond (10/5): - beautiful place
- Genevieve (8/5): Looks just like the photo - The room was great and looked just like the photo. The bathroom was big, modern and clean. We picked this particular room as it had a patio, despite being small we did appreciate opening the door in the morning. Only downside was it was very close to the front door so we heard everyone coming and going. But the room itself…really nice!
- Nicoleta (10/5): - Good location, reasonable price reflects basic amenities. Very good if you want to just use it to sleep
- Peter (4/5): I would have loved it if I was there by myself - I stayed with my daughter aged 17. No doors to the toilet, an it was difficult to be in the room with two suitcases. It looked different on pictures than in reality. We decided to skip the last night for getting a bigger room somewhere else. Bu, it was clean and placed in a nice area. If I’ve been there by myself, I would have stayed
Believe it did not match our expectations or requirements this time 🙏
- Michelle (10/5): - The hotel was clean and quiet. Nice location. Appreciated the air conditioner at the end of the day!
- Shauna (6/5): - There was no staff to greet us as we arrived after staff leaves for the day. They leave at 3:30, but there was no one there either at 9:30am, soooo. Also they need more fans and plug outlets. The rooms were stuffy and warm.
- Frankie (10/5): - It was great!! I’ll be back!
- Kevin (2/5): This is a mediocre HOSTEL (not a hotel!) - This is a HOSTEL. Not a hotel with all features you’d normally expect! I hated this hostel. The description included that there was no elevator but did not give an accurate description of the fact that you’d need to climb 100 STEEP dangerous thin steps up a spiral staircase to reach our family suite! Good luck if your luggage was anything bigger than a backpack as you’d likely cause yourself an injury lugging it up the stairs! If you made it to the suite you’d then be highly disappointed. One room with a double bed was a prison with no windows (only a skylight) and the other room was in constant sunlight as the window coverings were useless! The shower was very slippery and the rooms included nothing other than a bed and a side table. There were no chairs. Finally, there were no staff, no help and when you did reach out via text they were unconcerned and totally indifferent! I’d suggest using your $$ to stay elsewhere than this mediocre imposter and enjoy your stay in Paris elsewhere!
- Ana (10/5): - We enjoyed staying at Hotel So Marais! The room was very clean and a great size for our family. The staff was very helpful, and let us store our luggage there when we arrived hours before check-in. The shower was one of my favorite showers in any hotel I have stayed at. I enjoyed my stay and if I travel to Paris again, will stay there again.
- Julia (6/5): - The staff was kind, but be aware the rooms are VERY minimal. Barely enough room to walk around the bed, and the toilet was right beside the bed; no door. Can be a good option if this doesn't bother you though!
- Verified traveler (10/5): Nice and clean for a short stay - Great place for a short stay. We rented the suite for 4 adults and it did feel a little crowded, but it was fine for just 3 nights. The rooms and bathroom were clean and there were plenty of towels. Each room had its own door which was really appreciated. It's worth noting that the bathroom did have a door, as well. I know some of the reviews have said the double rooms don't have one, but the suites do apparently. In case anyone else is worried about it, like I was.
Note that there's no elevator and the stairs are steep. We all had small carry-on luggage and were barely able to fit in the stairway, so if you'll be traveling with medium to large luggage it'll be nearly impossible to get up the stairs.
It's pretty much a self check-in. You'll receive a link through whatsapp to pay the city tax before you arrive and then you'll get the codes to enter the hotel and your room. I know they also have luggage storage in the basement, but we didn't end up using it.
Also, the area is fine. Subway stations close, places to eat nearby, feels safe walking around the area, etc.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Nice , but close quarters - A nice, small room for a couple. Many towels. The only downside is there is no separation between the toilet and shower and the bedroom. The toilet is right behind the headboard. So all heat and humidity come out from the shower, and all “smells and sounds” come out from the bathroom. Not ideal but totally doable for a couple.
- Denny (10/5): - Very clean and comfortable for the stay we needed.
Not AC.
- maura t (8/5): - No one answered the phone to check-in. It was pretty stressful to wait and see if someone would actually let us into the hotel.
They did not send the access codes 24 hours in advance as they indicated in the booking email.
The cleaning woman, who helped us in, was lovely.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Excellent hotel in a lovely area.
- Mathew (6/5): - Great staff when they are there. This place is more like a Hostel, then a hotel. There is no fan,or AC at this place. So I wouldn't recommend in the hot times of the year. Also it's a very loud place with other guests. You can hear everything. Overall a 5 out of 10. Mostly due to the kind staff and the cleanliness of the room.
- Constitacion (2/5): - for disabled,no handle in bathroom, slippery when wet the floor. stairs too stiff, unsafe to bring your luggage
- Juan Carlos (10/5): - Overall it was great one of the better places I've stayed at in paris
- Franklin (10/5): Sr. - excellent to pass some days in Paris, just to sleep.
- charles (2/5): - This was the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. No one at the front desk and so people were waiting around outside to be sent a text of their room and code to get in.
There is no elevator and the stairs are so small and so steep. It is a spiral staircase that can’t fit medium size suitcases. Almost broke a leg coming down. The rooms are like a dorm.
I would never stay here again even if it were free.
- alexandra (10/5): - Great place and really quaint. The breakfast was a great classic english breakfast. 10 minute walk to kings cross max and a wonderful last minute place to stay when our air bnb didnt work
- HEILYN (10/5): - Very nice and clean. I would justbsuggest to specify that its require to climb a narrow stairs and there is no elevator.
