- Prof Dr Selamat (3/5): -
- Hai Diep (8/5): Good - Location is in center of old city Old room, and lack of AC & elavator
- SARIT ARIELLA (8/5): - Fatih at the front desk is a very sweet and helpful gentleman who told me about different location to see and to get there. The inn is in a great location for travellers. I was easily able to walk to the Grand Bazaar, Egyptian Bazaar & Arasta Bazaar and also get a meal at the ottomans kitchen restaurant which a few mins away by foot. The only issue I had was the tram that past by during the day when I wanted a nap but the night was quiet.
- Esther (10/5): - This is budget hotel. Simple and everything you need with the right price with housekeeping. People are friendly and helpful.
- Esther (10/5): - Lovely simple hotel at budget prices includes great housekeeping too
- Allison (10/5): Great little traditional style guest house - Perfect friendly little boutique guest house. Owner was very helpful and kind with lots of information. Just around the corner from main streets, shops and blue mosque and sophia haga mosque. Perfect location.
- Lesley (10/5): - It was a wonderful stay and the staff were great. Location was perfect and it fitted my budget.
- Hassan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Mustafa (6/5): - War nichts für mich
- Jeremy (10/5): Cozy Place - This is a very cozy place to stay and in a great location. They are very helpful as well. This is the 2nd year in a row I have stayed there. Will again in the future if I am in the city.
- judy (8/5): - The reception person is kind and nice, I also liked the key system for main entrance. It is a small hotel quiet and fine. My rom was small with a small bathroom and shower as well. I could managed.
- Niels (10/5): - Hyggelig sted med utrolig service
God beliggenhet
- Hana (10/5): - It was great to stay here.
- Güldane Merve (10/5): - memnun kaldık

- Mark (10/5): - Fatih was a great host and the room was perfect for us.
- Kawtar (3/5): Poor - It was calm The rooms were very narrow and the cleaning was great that much
- timothy (10/5): - The kindness and hospitality of Fatih and his family was outstanding.
- Konstantin (10/5): - Owner Fatih is a really kind and helpful host. His hotel offers all you need, when you’re looking for a simple but nice place to sleep and spending the time between sunrise and sunset walking around the city.
- Javier (10/5): Parfait - Parfait
- Jon (8/5): Weekend visit from 13.09-2023 - 16.09.2023 - I get Room nr .1 in first floore on first stage but inside air not good and no aircon working!
I get change to Room 4. at 2-floor and it worked well with no aircon and I could have open door to balcony in the night. It worked well! Its no breakfast served in hotel but we had to walk to a neighbour hotel. It was ok!
- Vasilina (10/5): - I liked the view
- Mark (10/5): - Had an excellent stay at Naz wooden house. Room 4 at the back was very spacious and clean, had a fridge and a comfortable double bed and sofa that converted into a slightly less comfortable bed (but workable by using the spare duvet as an extra cover). Bathroom was clean and all worked fine. Balcony at rear of room even provided a view of sliver of Bosporus! :) there is a new electric rail line going in behind the hotel but it isn’t up and running yet so heard no trains. There is a mosque not far from the rear of the hotel and the call to prayer can be a little noisy if early in morning, but for me it added to the amazing Istanbul experience! Budget hotel so wasn’t expecting luxury but got a friendly, clean and perfectly liveable room in a great location close to all the major Istanbul sights.
- Raza (6/5): - The property was clean and well maintained but it was too expensive for the size of the room. The room as well as the washroom were way too small. There was hardly any space to move around and for the price I paid, I would not expect such a small room.
- Noor (10/5): - Good value
- Daniel (10/5): - Great location, great price, great staff. Highly recommend!
- johny (10/5): - The rooms are smal but cosy. The rooms are cleaned every each dayThe gentelmens in reception very nice friendy nd such a helpful . Around the hotel is most popular area for tourists . Can reccomend .
- Sophia (3/5): I didn’t like it but it was cheap - private in a creepy location and the bed was uncomfortable. light would do some kind of flickering in the middle of night when sleeping and off. had to wake up and unscrew the bulbs
- André (4/5): disappointing because of the way the owner was approaching us in relation to the defect aircon. - the location was great. It was walking distance to main attractions and it was in the middle of a restaurant area for breakfast, lunch or dinner. the unprofessional and unrespectful way the owner managed our complaint about the malfunctioning airconditioning. Besides, being asthma patient, the smoke in the hotel was awful.
- Guruprasad (6/5): Replacement hotel given which was not good - I paid a lot of money and then they downgraded my hotel all of a sudden. I was asked to pay entire amount upfront considering I would create a scene like most of the other guests did. The help at the replacement hotel was very kind. Internet was very bad.
- Telat (2/5): Rezervasyon yaparken bir daha dusunun. - Naz hotel de konaklayamadim. Nedeni parasini odemis olmama ragmen otel de bos oda yok dediler. Baska bi otel e gonderdiler. Bu tamamiyle bir ciddiyetsizlik. Diger otele gitmemin tek nedeni odemeyi yapmis olmam.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - In general, the hotel is nice. They provided us a shuttle from the IST airport at 1 am, per 35 euros. The breakfast is not good. Is very very simple and not tastefully.
The bedrooms are very small, smaller than in pictures but for one or two nights is perfect fine.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Helpful staff, nice rooms and good location. Walking distance to major places. Note that walking ia sometimes up and down.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Great location. Good breakfast. Good for a solo traveler.
- Nice (8/5): - I liked the view from my window, looking down on the neighbourhood street. It was fairly quiet, but there’s nowhere in Istanbul to escape the Muslim call to prayer through the loud speakers, so don’t expect total quiet! The stairs are very steep, but there’s a strong railing to ensure safety. The room is ultra small but has everything one would need. The shower could be an issue for a large person. I liked the breakfast very much. Lots of choices. And easy to walk to local sites. Good value for money.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Excellent location! - Cozy hotel in an excellent location, in the heart of the historic city near the highlights Hagha Sophia and Sultan Ahmet mosque (5 min walking distance). Staff is friendly and helfpul. Our room, the "cave room" has airco, is spacious and clean.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Small and cosy, nice service, great location. The wifi was not working the day I stayed (network broadcasts but no data).
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Great place to stay, prime location, and great breakfast. The outside area is a bit noisy, but it was the only issue we had.
- noemi (10/5): - Great stay! Staff is kind, rooms are tidy and spacious, and location is perfect for touring some main attractions. Also the breakfast was excellent, loved it!!! Would definitely recommend!
- Irene (8/5): - Habitaciones grande y confortable.
- Adrian (10/5): Great stay in Old city - Very friendly staff. Warm welcome. Boutique style hotel with small number of rooms. Great advice from host. Close to Blue Mosque and other attractions in Old City. Rooms are small, but as advertised. Only problem for our room was the shower was a bit temperamental going from hot to cold
- caroline (10/5): Great location for major sites and excellent staff - Best location for visiting sites around Sultanahmet. Good service, pickup/drop off was smooth and easy. Friendly staff, good breakfast. Would recommend. Only thing is room is a little small but you are there for the location and price is awesome
- Verified traveler (8/5): - perfectly situated near bazaar and great sights.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - For the traveler who wants an old-city experience in Istanbul, this hotel is a good option. The location is handy for walking to must-see sites.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Excellent location & Service. Highly recommended. - Great location, about 10 min walk from T1 Tram Line, Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque, Topkapi Palace, Archaeology museum, Hippodrome, Hagia Irene,. Lots of restaurants nearby, some will deliver to the hotel for free, just ask the front desk. Very nice people, great service. They speak English well and will help you with whatever you need. Complementary simple traditional Turkish Breakfast. Also has 24 Hours airport service for 20 Euro. Great stay. Would recommend.
- bajay (8/5): good spot for exploring - its comfy, quiet (well not at 5:20am when the muezzins call - be prepared for that) in a great location to walk around the old town, literally stones throw from Blue Mosque. My room (single person) was very small but it was clean and had a fridge and kettle and a good heater which was needed at night (stayed in April), my only difficulty was the shower cubicle, i am 6foot tall weigh 90kgs and i could JUST get in and out of it - so no good for fatties. Daytime receptionist speaks good English, nighttime one doesn't seem to but all staff were friendly and helpful - would stay here again.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Nice small hotel, good for short stay - Nice small hotel good for short stay. We enjoyed.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Good location - Tiny space - It was tricky to find the hotel on my first day since streets are not labeled, but the location is super convenient to tourist areas and public transportation. The bed and pillows were super uncomfortable so I had trouble sleeping at night and woke up sore in the mornings. I actually ended up using my own jacket as a pillow instead of using theirs. The bathroom was tiny. The shower was so small it was hard to wash my hair. A large person would not be able to fit through the shower doors or in front of the sink. But the place was clean and it was super convenient to have breakfast provided!
- Margaret (8/5): Great place above the Bosphorous - Everything was fine; only criticism was not getting replacements for coffee and tea in room, had to check in a couple times with front desk for same.
Sparkling bathroom; after Rome, a real treat!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Great location and very friendly and helpful staff.
- Peri (10/5): Great hotel close to all attractions - My wife and myself had a great 5-night stay at this charming hotel in Sultanahmet the first week of April 2015. The manager and the staff were incredibly polite and very helpful. The room was spacious and comfortable. Breakfast was served in the top floor with sea views. The hotel was just a few minutes by walk from the Blue Mosque, the Aya Sofia museum and the Basilica Cistern- a little longer walk to the Grand Bazaar and Spice bazaar. The tram station was close by too. The hotel is located in the narrow, winding streets of the old city so walking around is the better option. There are numerous side-walk cafes and restaurants and it is a good idea to explore them by walking around. There is also a local bazaar- The Arasta bazaar- which seems like a mini Grand-Bazaar.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Naz Wooden House - The second time I've stayed here - I love the view both ways from the enclosed breakfast terrace (Blue Mosque and shipping) and was very comfortable and happy.
- Ray (8/5): Great Location - I had one problem with this hotel. My girlfriend and her mother arrived about 18 hours after I did. I had asked the hotel by email and confirmed in person that I could go with the shuttle to meet my girlfriend and her mom at the airport. When I went to the front desk at the time I was told to be there to take the shuttle, I was told that the shuttle had already left for the airport and that it had not left from the hotel.
When my girlfriend and her mother arrived, they told me that the shuttle driver had my name on a piece of paper he was holding, rather than one or both of their names. My girlfriend was rather upset that I was not at the airport to meet her when she arrived. I didn't appreciate being told more than once that I could go with the shuttle only to be left behind.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Comfortable little place to stay at! - My wife and I stayed here for 2 days. We were given room 1, which seemed like the biggest of the lot and was very comfortable. The hotel is approx. 25 min drive away from the airport and walking distance from all the main spots like the Aya Sofya, Blue Mosque, Top kapi Palace and the Basilica Cystern.
The Breakfast was nice at the terrace with a good view of the sea and the blue mosque. The room was clean and comfortable for 2 people and the bathrooms were small but nice and clean. I would really recommend this place to people coming to istanbul on a budget plan!
- Verified traveler (10/5): Excellent and helpful staff - Excellent and helpful staff. Excellent location........................
- Sharon (10/5): Charming hotel - Quaint, charming, great location (if you dont mind the rail line), poss a little rough around the edges if you look hard, but overall extremely lovely.
Staff were attentive in particular the reception upon arrival, and the lovely breakfast lady.
The views from the breakfast room were amazing and a great breakfast that set us up for the day.
- Traveller (4/5): Renovations - Hotel was undergoing renovations. We appeared to be the only guests. Had to walk to sister hotel for breakfast , after complaining got breakfast in hotel. No complimentary tea and cakes in the afternoon as mentioned in reviews . Good view of Bosphorus from terrace but that's about it. Perhaps shouldn't have taken guests during renovations .
- Nathan (10/5): Lovely little hotel - The staff was very friendly and helpful. The view on the terrace at breakfast was fantastic (food was good too). Quaint little room was fine for us. It was a little tricky to find the first time, but the proximity to the main sights was great.
- Mona (8/5): Lovely boutique hotel centrally located - The hotel was a 5 minute walk to the blue mosque and very central. The hotel staff were extremely warm and welcoming. They took care of all my needs. And with a smile! The rooms were very clean however smaller than I expected. I had a room meant for double occupancy but can't imagine having someone sharing that room or bed with me! The shower was tiny too. It was great for a day or two.
- BZ (6/5): Could see the Blue Mosque from our tiny room - The location of the hotel is wonderful, but as other reviewers have remarked, the rooms and the bathrooms are quite small, even bordering on claustrophobic. That being said, you're not in Istanbul to sit in your hotel room. The site was a 5 minute walk to the Hagia Sophia, Hippodrome, Blue Mosque, and Cooking Alaturka (we heartily recommend it!) The stairs up to the balcony were rickety but worth it. Breakfast left much to be desired. Overall, it's hard to beat the location.
- Spike Mackenzie (10/5): Istanbul with a difference - Great location for main attractions and only a 5 min walk to nearest tram stop. Guest House spotlessly clean although decor best described as "shabby chic". Rooms generally on the small size but fully equiped (air-con, fridge, kettle, etc). Staff very helpful and accommodating, particularly in advising what areas to avoid during the recent riots / civil unrest (early June 2013).Complimentary tea, coffee and home made cakes each afternoon on the terrace with views of the Blue Mosque and Bosporus made a welcome relief after a day tramping round the city - although the climb to the upper open roof terrace via the circular metal staircase is not for the feint hearted.
- Musty (10/5): Great Value for money hotel with friendly staff. - !st room given was incorrect and was too small. But the correcxt room (room 1) was fantastic, plenty of room, well dcorated and clean. Was beside a railway line, but the trains were quiet and very infrequent. View from top balcony were breakfast was served was fantastic, good view of the bay and the blue mosque. Staff are so friendly and helpful. Location of hotel was ideal, only 5 min walk to mosque and tourist areas. Breakfast was awsome, really miss it now ! Overall good hotel for the price.
- Pam (4/5): Extremely dishonest - My boyfriend and I reserved a double room, and when we were shown to our room it was so small that we couldn't even have our suitcases on the floor without blocking access to either the bathroom or the hallway.
I went down and asked the front desk about it, saying maybe they had put me in the wrong room. Turns out they had overbooked double rooms, and even though I had paid for a double they had put me in a single, charged me for a double, and weren't going to tell me!
After having read some other reviews I see that this is not the first time that this has happened - apparently this hotel loves overcharging for single rooms.
Although they were apologetic about it and switched my room the next day, they offered no money back or any kind of compensation. Had I not asked about it they never would have switched my room, and would have kept me in a single, while charging me for a double.
- Christine (8/5): Meets expectations - A cute hotel with friendly staff in an area close to lots of restaurants and a short walk from blue mosque and aya Sofia. We had clean sheets and surfaces but under the bed needs a clean. It does sit on a train track and our room was on that side so comfort got a low score due to noise from this and a bed and shower that were a bit small for us. The hotel is old and would benefit from an update but we would stay again... On the side away from the train track.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Istanbul October 2012 - Naz Wooden House was fine hotel one block from Blue Mosque-superb location. The staff were absolutely superb-Asli and Haksim...so helpful and polite. We stayed twice. One room was very small, the second quite large and comfortable. The breakfast was excellent each day and you can sit on the rooftop patio overlooking the Sea of Marmara as you dine.
- Glenn (6/5): Tiny rooms, good view - VERY tiny rooms, no elevators for its four floors. Excellent breakfast and rooftop views of Marmara and Blue Mosque. Close to key points of interest.
- Karen (6/5): Non-commercial neighborhood very appealing - Small, authentic feeling, with character, but the service (nothing but a desk clerk) was minimal for the price. The breakfast was very good. I switched to the Hotel Niles in a less charming area but truly excellent friendly service, wonderful breakfast, bar, and considerably cheaper.
- Martin (8/5): Naz, an enjoyable place to stay at a great price - A small hotel (7 rooms) but in a great position., The staff were very welcoming and there was tea and coffee available after a busy day's sightseeing. Well placed for all of the major sights but on a quiet road. The railway runs at the back of the hotel but did not disturb us, though we had a front room. The views from the roof terrace and the breakfast room are wonderful and the buffet style breakfast was great. Our room was compact with no room to walk around the bed but we did not spend much time in it. The staff were very helpful and welcoming with excellent English. A very enjoyable stay at a great price.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Naz Wooden Inn - It was a great hotel in a wonderful neighborhood with an incredibly friendly staff... The only negative that I could cite was the size of the room - it was quite cozy for two people.
- bob (2/5): a pre paid room has to be in the hotel you booked! - totally unacceptable behavior, they deserve to go out of business regardless of other positive reviews.
- Tracy (10/5): Fantastic stay in Istanbul - The Naz Wooden House Inn was great- The front desk staff was very helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable. Everyone at the front desk was also quite proficient in English, which made conversation and questions easy.
The location was convenient- in close walking proximity to all the major sites and close to a transit stop. The hotel is also steps away from a small bazaar, which is fun to walk through along the way to the main sites and transit.
The hotel was very clean and our room was attended to everyday. Breakfast was included in the stay and we were pleasantly surprised by the variety (bread, fruit, eggs, yogurt, hot breakfast options, coffee, a variety of tea, juice) and had many substantial vegetarian options, which worked well for us.
We used the hotel's airport transportation at the tail end of our trip to return to the airport- We had to leave the hotel at 3:30am and are happy to report that our ride drove safely and was on time to pick us up, and had the added bonus of providing juice and breakfast along the way to the airport.
Overall, a great stay and we would recommend this hotel to our family and friends!
- Michael (8/5): Excellent Hotel - Hotel is good, but if you don't want to be disturbed by trains in the morning, then avoid the rooms at the back, though they have an excellent view and more space.
- Laura (10/5): Lovely little hotel! - Friendly, young, multi-lingual staff in a lovely hotel with a lot of homely character and in a beautiful location – the Blue Mosque was so nearby the muezzin woke us up every night! The hotel provides a tearoom upstairs so you can make yourself a hot drink at any hour of the day or night, and also runs a budget travel agency so you can get good-value tours and transfers. The immediate surroundings are pretty and well-appointed with lots of nice cafes, restaurants and a few backpacker bars.
Fantastic value for the money we paid.
- Edgar (8/5): Worthwhile - Located in the old part of Istanbul within walking distance to all the tourist sites. Convenience without compromise. The hotel was fantastic. Personally I was annoyed at the young male concierge who was providing over night cover which was mostly due to the language barrier and professional culture. I will still recommend and would reconsider returning!
- Fiona (8/5): Convenient and friendly - This is a small characterful hotel with helpful and friendly staff who are keen to help with all aspects of your holiday. The rooms are small but well-equipped (a second pillow might have been welcome) breakfast is fine and there is the facility to make tea and coffee 24 hours a day in the breakfast room, which has lovely views.
