Stayed in the tower the first 3 nights which was great and then moved to a villa where the ac did not get colder than 28 Celsius. We had to move rooms to finally get cold ac after two nights of sweating

We had access to the beach with lifeguards. lots of eating and drinking. I enjoyed the food, the espresso cafe and alcoholic drinks. I wasn't Michelin star food but it matched or exceeded the price. I didn't like how the room looked when it was bright outside, it was kind of a 90's vibe. However the afternoons at the hotel were nice, more like a 2020's vibe. The hotel overall feels better in the evening hours. It may have been that the sun was way too strong and my room was facing it in the mornings. I also didn't like that the AC thermostat didn't adjust the temperature in the room, I feel like we could have been a little cooler/comfortable.

The ocean and its own private beach; 2. There's a private area with its own mini pool; 3. There is no awareness of opportunities for guests (we only found out on the 2nd day that we have a manager, but we still don’t understand his functions) 2. There is no internal communication among the staff and mutual assistance (our lock broke, a passing staff member helped open the door, and didn’t tell the right employee that the batteries in the lock needed to be changed) 3. There is no care for customers (the employee on the beach was really tired, so her lunch lasted 2 hours and no one replaced her during lunch time, then she took the order and just came back after 1.5 hours and said that she couldn’t fulfill it because the snack bar was already closing) or there was a statement about check-in that there were available employees, but in reality only two of them processed the check-in and we spent more than 1.5 hours on registration We didn't find anything interesting for 3-year-old children. The food is ordinary and monotonous. If they had more themed cooking sessions, it would be more interesting. The Italian and seafood restaurants had better food!

- Jeannie (4/5): Beautiful beach and staff but other than pool and beach very boring - The staff Check in took forever for no reason had to wait over an hour and only 3 people were in front on us. Food only one restaurant was open and the buffet. The main bar was closed and absolutely no entertainment none. The air didn’t work in our room and had to complain 3 times and my daughter has back issues the beds were so hard her back hurt so bad she could not move for most of the trip. I asked for another room with better beds and they said they were full and provided a mattress pad. The staff was the only thing that was great. I will not stay at this resort again.
- Sara (10/5): Relaxing honeymoon stay - My wife and I stayed here for 9 days during our honeymoon, and mostly chose this specific resort for the positive reviews regarding vegan food availability, as we're both vegan. The resort is stunning, and there's so much that could be said about our great time here, but I'd really like to thank the staff at the Veranda Buffet Restaurant to accommodate our dietary requirements and propose options for every meal. We would like to the staff, in particular Edgar, Gerardo, Gregorio, Salomon, Jesus, Yuliana, Maria José and Salvador, and chefs Emmanuel and Luis. Most of the other restaurants have some vegan options as well, and El Mirador even has a dedicated vegan menu, that Jose and Mario gladly walked us through. Nothing was negative about our experience. It would be nice to see a few more vegan options in the future. The staff made a great effort to accommodate us, but sometimes there seemed to be a bit of a lack of understanding of what vegan meant (once we only received a pile of vegetables for dinner). We still had a great time though, and still had plenty of delicious food.

Os quartos são confortáveis Quando você chega ao hotel já começam a te abordar querendo vender pacote de viagem. Chega a ser cansativo e chato ficar falando não e eles insistindo. O check in e check out é muito demorado e apresenta fila, pois há somente 2 funcionários para receber todo mundo. As comidas são de medianas a ruins. Nem os restaurantes específicos possuem comidas gostosas. Sendo que os melhores pratos ou restaurante você precisa pagar a mais, além do que já pagou no all inclusive. Os drinks são péssimos, apesar de as garrafas indicarem bebidas de qualidade, mas a execução deixa os drinks muito ruins. Os únicos petiscos fora do almoço/jantar são sanduiche, pizza, cachorro quente e nachos. Bem diferente de resort no Brasil em que há várias opções de petiscos de praia.

- 997afshins (4/5): Poor customer service from the front desk - My wife and my daughter went there for a week from April 1 to April 8, for couple of days everything was good except majority of the resort staff couldn't speak English. on Day fifth, a family moved to the room near to my wife and daughter room, they were so noisy, insulting each other with loud voice, slamming the doors especially midnights, making noises when they were drunk and so many other annoying thinks. My wife complained to front desk and instead of talking to that rude family they told my wife if you are not happy change your room, in what universe this solution will be given to someone who wants to have a peaceful vacation??? I guess after the get the money they don't care how the stay is going to be for families and they were rude to my wife and never ever talk to next door for correcting their behavior. I don't suggest this place to anyone although there are reviews that may be positive but all and all if you spend more than 5K for your vacation, you expect respect and peaceful place to spend your vacation not to have argument over something that is a common sense.

We ate at all 3 restaurants that were included as part of the all-inclusive. Aside from some bad luck on ordering "wrong" dishes, we found the food to be very good. We spoke to others at the resort and received recommendations for what to order. The breakfast buffet had a lot of options. The lady making the omelettes is a rock star!! We only did the dinner buffet one night, but we both thought the food was good. The room air conditioning never got cold enough for me at night - room felt warm. Drinks started off a little rough - worst bloody Mary I've ever had. I did like the fact that they offered some top shelf liquor (Bacardi and Absolut). Getting a beach or pool chair in the morning is tough! We would take towels down at 6:30 am and lots of spots were already taken! Some seaweed on the beach....not sure why it was not removed daily. Overall, this was one of the better all-inclusives I've stayed at. I would go back!

The only t hing that kept me from rating this a 5 was the food which was hit and miss particularly at the beginning. The buffet had some highlights to make up for some lackings. The Koi oriental restaurant was excellent for both Teppanyaki and A la Carte choices. The Italian was average while the Mexican did not really have a menu that spoke to us so I can't say if the quality was good or not. The Prime, which is an additional cost option for dinner, was very disappointing the first time we went there and where my wife and I were served a very bad T-Bone, my brother had ordered the shrimps and his dish was very good.. After hearing of our concern, the Food Services Manager offered us a make up dinner where they served us Filet Mignon and Lobster Tail which was excellent. I would recommend this resort as the people there were amazing and always ready to help.

For the cost and the length of our stay, I don’t think we had one real meal the entire time. By day 2, you start to realize every meal is made of some processed frozen product extremely bland with no flavor, no seasoning, worse than any fast food restaurant I can think of. The highlight of traveling internationally for me is eating authentic cuisine. I actually inquired about the poor quality of the food and was told by a resort staff that the food had to be bland for the Americans. I couldn’t believe it. By the 2nd to last day of our stay I could NOT stomach any more of the food. We visited all of the restaurants and the buffet dining room, and the only real food I believe we had was the Koi Hibachi restaurant. Even the drinks are extremely watered down, bottom of the shelf alcohol. Otherwise, the desserts and ice cream were great! Unfortunately the terrible food significantly impacted my experience as a whole.

Everything is centrally located so no walking around finding your way. Ice cream bar is always open and the snack bar has great burgers and pork chops sometimes. I ate at the buffet every time. They have a restaurant that requires no booking for breakfast or dinner I never tried. I heard the Italian restaurant was excellent. There is an adult pool to get away from too many kids sometimes. They have a fruit smoothie bar there without the sugar. The desserts are far better than any 4 star booking I made in the past. I feel this hotel is one step away from 5 stars and all they need to change is how they cook the buffet food sometimes. Too often they have chicken drenched in some special sauce that really ruins the food. The barbeque sauce sucks, way too sweet. Cream sauces with mushrooms and olives etc. Even the chicken cacciatore normally a favourite just doesn't taste right. The sweet and sour dishes were excellent as was the parmesan chicken and breaded chicken. The roast chicken again was good. Entertainment is very nice and I like the music at the pool. Lost of activities to keep you interested. Great internet all around the property. Gym is well equipped. Massage girls do a great job. The service is second to none. I heard complains online about the cobblestone walkways around the paths and pools. Nonsense! I see kids running and never slipping. I myself walk around bare feet no problem. No danger of breaking your neck and I prefer that. The beach in Cancun is always excellent. One word of advice. The membership that isn't time share is timeshare under a different name only. Only an idiot fool would buy into such a con game. If you go don't get sucked in to over 90 minutes. It's a nice way to see the VIP rooms and get a free bag and cheap bottle of tequila to take home. Jorge, Alijandro and all the staff in the buffet are great!! The girl on the grill is really excellent! The girls seating you every visit are A+++. The kids club is run like a top and the kids really loved especially the shorter girls. Really sweet and attentive.

Mexican Night was a treat, we got to try lots of new Mexican foods! All the service staff from bartenders to waitstaff did a wonderful job. My only criticism would be when they close down a dining venue for a meal they should post a sign or send an email. We plan to meet someone for dinner at the resort restaurant, wait for them to open, only to find out after waiting a long time, that they must not be opening. Truly frustrating. But, we didn't go hungry! We enjoyed all the buffet food despite reviews I'd read prior to going. We really didn't want to leave and wish we'd booked a longer stay!

- Stay45913401851 (10/5): Exceeded All Expectations! A Must-Stay Hotel - We had a really enjoyable stay at the Grand Park Royal Cancun, and I’d definitely come back. We spent $5,200 CAD on a 7-day all-inclusive trip, another $100 ish on tips for meals/drinks/room service, and about $1,000 in extra spending on gifts/activities. We used both Pesos and USD, but USD was easier to use for tipping and gave you better deals. If you used Peso or credit card, prices were more expensive and you had less bargaining power. Service – GREAT The staff were friendly and helpful; everything can be done using their App, it was super convenient. Servers at the restaurants were plentiful and quick, but the bartenders at the pools tended to be slow-ish most of the time. Room - GREAT Room was as advertised and was a basic hotel-styled room. I’d recommend the ocean view room; sunrise on the ocean and you can see more of the resort. On the Laguna side you can watch the sunset and see more of the city. Food – GREAT The food was very good overall, with a decent variety of options. The buffet was fresh and well-prepared, we had no stomach issues with anything. I’d recommend the Andiamo restaurant for breakfast and dinner, it was very good Italian-style food, and the Flor de Sal restaurant was the best for seafood options. At the KOI restaurant, I’d recommend just eating from their regular menu, the Hibachi dinner is okay, it’s nothing special, the regular menu items were way more delicious. The Gelato Café on the resort was the best, I was there morning, noon and night. The drinks at all places were well-made, no complaints, I’d recommend asking the tenders to surprise you with a tropical drink of their choice, especially frozen (slushies). Pool / Beach - GOOD The beach was beautiful, clean and spacious with lots of sitting areas. The only minor complaint would be that the pools closed at 8pm. Activities – GOOD I’d recommend attending the nightly shows at the resort, they’re fun and short. For something to do, I’d recommend booking the catamaran tour to Isla Mujeres. If you go, you really need to try one of two taco places; either Los Tacos de Humo or Rancho Capricho, BEST tacos we had tried all trip. Transportation – GOOD Use Uber if you need a ride. It’s cheap and quick, taxis are over-priced and not really negotiable. If you can walk somewhere, do it, it can get very traffic-heavy in the area. Overall, it was a great experience :)

And selective ability to book depending on your accommodation led to great animosity and bad feelings of being a second class customers (even if your were prepared to pay) Staff - were understaffed most the time, BUT they did their very best ! Under difficult circumstances. Buffet restaurant varied from day to day, sometimes very good to very bad - especially if they were running private functions alongside. Thank god they had good bars and good bar staff!! Management very poor, i am guessing there is a audit or store thing going on

The rooms were big and very comfortable. The beds were very comfortable and we slept fantastic. There is a decent selection of restaurants, and I HIGHLY recommend you do the Hibachi experience. The beach is beautiful. Most of all I have to say that everyone who works here is so very friendly and always smiling and always willing to help you out. We had a truly fantastic family vacation, and we highly recommend this hotel.

Instead I got other facing villa. I checked in at mid night, And the next day one of my known got ocean front villa even though they haven’t booked that one. Internet never worked in our villa despite of multiple complaints to Butler. For that reason I have to use my roaming from canada, and it costed me CAD $18 per day.

Not really any easy takeout options and one can only eat so many burgers and hot dogs. Bed was uncomfortable and worn out. The rock path throughout is very rough and not child friendly. Most staff were very friendly but some did not appear helpful if you had kids (such as not getting a high chair after multiple requests). The shows were good and ice cream cafe were the standouts for me.

We enjoyed the pools also, especially the adult pool. I would recommend trying out the the little restaurant by the beach. We had lunch there every afternoon. They serve hamburgers, hot dogs, fries and tacos. It was very good. We also enjoyed the room service a couple times. You have to download the app to order. you are allowed one order per day at no charge. The food is very good. Ask for a PIN when you check in I also recommend the little ice cream shop close to the lobby. They have a chocolate cappuccino which was very good and different flavors of ice cream, as well as different pastries that were all very fresh. Another place that you want to try out is the rooftop bar, it makes for great pictures when the sun is going down. We had read reviews about the breakfast meeting and we were told to avoid it. We decided to ignore the reviews and try it out anyhow. We were quite happy that we attended, It came with a few perks, such as a discount on our excursion and a bali bed. It only took 90 minutes of our time, 60 min of it was while we were having breakfast. Many couples did purchase, it is worth it, if you travel alot. All staff were friendly and extremely kind. A big thank you to Joshua and Sergio for answering our questions while we were there.

From the moment we arrived, the staff were incredibly warm, welcoming and genuinely helpful, which made the whole experience feel very relaxed and enjoyable. A special mention must go to our VIP butler, Yajahira, who truly made our trip memorable. We were celebrating our 15th anniversary, and she went above and beyond to make the occasion feel special. Her attention to detail, kindness and willingness to help with anything we needed really elevated our stay. The hotel itself is in a beautiful beachfront location. The beach is stunning, with soft white sand and crystal-clear turquoise water. The Bali beds overlooking the ocean were a highlight — a perfect place to relax and enjoy the view. There were only a couple of minor downsides. Our room had an interconnecting door, which meant we could occasionally hear noise from the neighbouring room. Also, due to the natural ocean conditions, there is only a smaller protected area suitable for swimming, although this didn’t take away from how beautiful the beach is overall. Overall, we had an amazing anniversary trip and really appreciated the hospitality of the staff. A big thank you again to Yajahira for helping make it such a special stay. We would definitely return.
- amberbX2742FK (4/5): Disappointed with my stay - Unfortunately, my experience at this resort was disappointing for several reasons. First, the room itself had multiple issues. The hot water was inconsistent, the lights in the room didn’t work properly, and housekeeping seemed lacking as towels were often not adequately stocked. The dining options were very limited. There were only three à la carte restaurants, and you couldn’t make reservations in advance—you had to wait in line, while Privilege members were given priority access. There was also a fourth restaurant (a steakhouse) that required an extra charge, which felt unreasonable for an all-inclusive resort. The resort also had only one buffet with fairly small food selections, which became repetitive over the week. The layout of the property was difficult to walk around, as much of the resort has uneven cobblestone paths, which were hard on the feet and not very accessible. Another major issue was limited beach seating. Guests would place towels on chairs early in the morning and leave them there all day to reserve spots. Because of this, I had to wake up at 6:30 AM every morning just to get a chair. The resort should implement a policy to prevent chairs from being reserved all day without being used, as there simply isn’t enough seating. Dinner service also seemed understaffed, which resulted in slow service during busy times. Our travel experience added further frustration. After arriving at Cancun Airport, we waited over an hour for our luggage, only to discover that my husband’s suitcase had been rummaged through and items were stolen, including his razor and an expensive cologne. Because of flight timing, we didn’t arrive at the resort until 1 AM Saturday, meaning we lost the entire first day that we had already paid for. Checkout was also disappointing. After checking out at noon, we were told we only had access to food and drinks until 4 PM, even though our shuttle to the airport didn’t leave until 6:30 PM. This policy was never clearly explained at check-in, which would have helped us plan our departure day better. It’s important to note that late checkout cost 50 USD PER HOUR! Which in my husband and I’s previous experience to multiple resorts seemed very high. Finally, the sales staff were extremely pushy during the first three days, trying to sell memberships and offering “free” gifts that came with obligations. This approach felt uncomfortable and intrusive, especially since we had just arrived and hadn’t even had time to fully experience the resort yet. I also noticed this happening to many other guests. Overall, the resort has potential, but limited dining options, lack of seating, aggressive sales tactics, and operational issues made this a 6/10 experience.

- midwesttravelerMpls (8/5): A Subjective Review 2/26 to 3/3 - Our first Cancun Hotel Zone visit- My wife and I have been to many other Caribbean All-Inclusive resorts. -Airport arrival. Quick - Straight-forward - No Issues. After customs we grabbed our checked-in luggage, didn't engage with the inside hustlers and exited the airport. Again, ignored the outside hustlers and met our Amstar transfer service, which we use for all Caribbean vacations, and we were on our way. -Resort check-in had no issues. Staff was kind, friendly, polite and proficient. -Immediately following check-in, they directed us to the much talked-about time-share salesperson to give us a "lay-of-the-land" spiel, offering us the "special/VIP breakfast." We firmly said, "no gracias.," and that was that. It is unfortunate GPRC engages in this unpleasant practice. It repels potential returning guests. -Our room was the basic (cheap) suite in the main building (the building where you check in) No butler. No problem. Room was nice, updated and clean. Beautiful ocean view from our room. -Our housekeepers, Sara and Jasmine were warm and friendly. They had no problem accommodating our room requests. -The mini-bar staff kept it stocked daily. We even requested extra Pepsi's, and they provided it to us. -Free blue water bottles are provided in your room. Water bottle refill stations are all over the resort. -The toilet flush button was broken, so it couldn't be used to flush. We let the front desk know right away, but nobody showed up to fix it. I told the front desk the next day that it hadn't been repaired and this time it got resolved quickly. -Mattress, IMO, was uncomfortable- I can fall asleep almost anywhere, on any mattress, but my wife and I found this mattress so hard that it was a struggle for us sleep on it. -Our shower door wouldn't stay closed due to it being improperly installed, and water would escape under it, onto the floor. Cold-water showers and weak water pressure was a bummer too. Food- Meh. As most all other TA reviews describe. It is lacking in every way. From the lack of proteins to the lack of condiments, lack of flavor to the lack of good actual Mexican cuisine. It was simply no bueno. Some basic things are kept hidden away in the kitchen. Basic stuff that should be out and accessible for you to simply grab. Afterall, Cocay is a buffet style "restaurant." Needing to request butter or a basic condiment to be brought out to you while your luke-warm food turns cold is not acceptable. We reserved the Koi restaurant's hibachi one evening. It actually served beef, which I was happy to see. Sadly, it was inedible. I literally could not chew through it and had to spit it out (inconspicuously- of course). Then I noticed the other people sitting around the hibachi table having the same issue. Food quality-control is non-existent at this resort. Bar/Liquor- Cassis- the only indoor bar is in the main building. It's smallish, with no real dance area. During our stay they didn't have any music playing for "atmosphere" when the DJ wasn't there, making it very dull and boring. Drinks are served in plastic cups when the DJ plays- whether it's 9pm for the "Silent Party" or 11pm, when the DJ typically starts. Again, no drinks in glass or shot glasses. Only a plastic cup. Unfortunate. Plastic is understandable for the outside bars. But inside- at night? Really? One other very odd thing was that the resort has no ginger ale. None. They have Canada Dry products such as tonic. Strange not to provide a relatively common drink mix. Entertainment- Night shows were basically good. Some better than others, of course. -Fire show was very entertaining and our favorite. -Caribbean show was really a "Latin" show. One woman sang through most of it (in Spanish, of course). The show should have been called whatever her name was... Definitely not a "Caribbean" show. -The Mexican show was fun, lively and entertaining. -The Circus show had one balancing act that was really good. All of the others- meh. -Other than those 45–60-minute shows, the resort was pretty dead at night. Resort Miscellaneous: -The outdoor walkway that is throughout the resort is horrendous. It is uneven, rough and made of uneven stone. It's challenging enough for the guests to navigate, where shoes are necessary, but equally hard for the staff who have to push their carts and other supplies throughout the grounds on it. I can't imagine the cost for labor, repair and parts due to the poorly designed walkway. -Towel game to reserve a lounge chair was alive during our stay. I awoke at 7am to "reserve" a palapa and they were all taken. -During our stay it was gusty and the water was rough. Due to rip-tide concerns, it kept everyone from being able to go into the ocean. Those who tried were immediately admonished by the lifeguard. -The pools were mostly empty due to the cold water. Our departure from the airport was a breeze. Airport personnel were very helpful. Guiding travelers who needed assistance. Taking everything we experienced during our 5-night stay into consideration, we may return to Cancun but would not return to this particular resort.

Room great-ample room for 3 women although would have liked to have more dresser drawers. Not sure how 4 people could share the room. Loved the bathroom/shower, but the towels are not at all soft. Loved the entertainment & pools. Fun entertainment staff & activities! Can't give them more stars because the food ranged from meh to bad: flavors, selection & prep. Meat overcooked, food barely warm, very few alt options if you have food allergies/intolerances. Restaurants randomly closed but no notices telling you when. Had to have a reservation for the Hibachi restaurant which we were never able to get - long line at 8am & fills up quickly because it appears that only 1 table is sat at a time. Which brings me to the fact they seemed understaffed in all restaurants and by the pools. Buffet was meh & same foods every lunch & dinner - anything that was good ran out quickly. I don't drink alcohol but the Mocktails were great. Wine selection is limited to 1 white & 1 red option. The Mexican/Seafood Restaurant's service was very slow, and overall the food lacked flavor - and only 2 "seafood" options which included Tilapia & Octopus only. Italian Restaurant was pretty good - they actually had a gluten-free pasta option and my daughter loved the bread (overall not much flavor all-around though). All restaurants did have great atmospheres! At the coffee/ice cream shop there is limited tea options & just have bags. We didn't try the coffee. Again nothing there for someone gluten or dairy free. We utilized the Spa - I asked for a list of services ahead of time which listed everything from massages to facials and nails. When we got there found out not all were actually available (pedicures). Massage was great but no extra amenities with it like we have had at other resorts (use of sauna/steam room, showers, jacuzzis). Everyone was very friendly and helpful everywhere you went, but not always available due to being understaffed (waited several times for someone to show up to provide towels, refill drinks, etc.) They did have a lot of Concierge Staff who appear to be sitting around a lot. Also, they invite you to a "welcome breakfast " to discuss their vacation club. Fyi the breakfast is just at the buffet having to listen to the hard sell while you ate. We didn't do it but saw others doing it. FYI - Lots of people on beach selling stuff which is not unusual, but they are allowed to come up to the resort which is annoying. Tip: Went to Isla Mujeres for the day taking advice to take the bus ($1) to ferry. Lots of people calling you to their shops which sell all the same stuff, but public beach great, good restaurants & highly recommend renting golf cart to drive around island! Overall, if you don't care about the food and have no food allergies/intolerances then it's pretty great!

Your app was not working during our stay. There was no hot water in our showers. They said it ran out by evening??? I felt the hotel bars and buffet were understaffed. The buffet was significantly disappointing. Many trays were empty and not being refilled. There was no bacon and rarely sausage for breakfast. We had to ask multiple times for beverage service from staff — they were running ragged. We were also disappointed in the Mexican restaurant. The manager was very negative, menu limited and service extremely slow. The snack bar was horribly understaffed. The poor man couldn’t begin to keep up. A wait of 25 minutes in line for food. Overall the staff was very helpful, just needed more of them!! Highlights were the Koi and Italian restaurants!! GREAT service, excellent food and presentation and the manager at the Koi was very knowledgeable and helpful with our wine selections. We also LOVED the silent dance party. It would have been even more fun outside.

- hallowqueen (10/5): Highly Recommend this hotel - This was our 14th trip to Cancun and our first visit to this hotel. We have our favorites but decided to try this one for a change. What I look for in a hotel is: Nice comfortable rooms, multiple food options, good beach, quality drinks, entertainment and good service reviews. GPR checked off all of the boxes. The hotel in general: A lot larger than expected but not so large that you get lost. The grounds are beautiful and well kept. The rooms are spacious and clean with beautiful views of the sea and lagoon. The beds are super comfortable. There are multiple food options available. The buffet and Mexican restaurant is open from breakfast to dinner. The "snack shack" near the pool and beach was open for lunch and early dinner. The Japanese restaurant requires reservations for Hibachi, but for general dining. The Italian restaurant is open in the evening with a roof top bar (pictures of the big globes). There is also a steak house which is not included in price. There is also a coffee/tea bar with ice cream. We were pleased with every restaurant that we ate at. The beach is beautiful! Very wide and very shallow walk out into the sea but follow the guidelines that the lifeguards set. The bars and drinks: There is a "lobby" bar, " a swim up pool bar in the main area, a bar at the adult pool, a bar above the Italian restaurant, and a bar during the nightly events. The hotel has Dos Equis and Tecate Lite. They stock Jim Beam, Jack Daniels, Canadian Club, J&B, Absolute, Malibu and much more. They also make MULTIPLE tropical drinks! The hotel has activities and entertainment all day and then special entertainment at night. Bingo, Trivia, 80's, Silent Party, Circus, Caribbean show, Mexican night and more. The staff was very friendly. Angel (pronounced An-hel) was my favorite bartender in the lobby bar but they all were great! Karina was a hard-working beach waitress, Fanny was our favorite breakfast waitress at the Mexican restaurant. Shout out to Gerardo and Jose at the dinner buffet and finally to the lobby bar manager (I didn't catch his name) for being so kind. I wish I could have noted more names as they all went above and beyond. There is one thing that the hotel could improve on: Many hotels have the concierge that try to schedule a breakfast to "tell the guests more about the hotel". They offer a free gift, and yes, it is free for you to go through their spiel. I would be happier to sit and talk about upgrading or becoming a VIP after I have been at the hotel for a few days. People need time to see if they even like the hotel before investing.
- Patiohaven (2/5): GRAND PARK ROYAL RUINED OUR 25TH ANNIVERSARY AND DID NOT CARE ONE BIT !!! - If it was possible, I would give this hotel "NEGATIVE" 5 stars" In summary, this hotel ruined our 25th anniversary and they don't care one bit because we had already fully prepaid our entire stay in advance. So once they had our money in their hands , they knew they could do whatever they wanted, against our will and objections. I guess they think, why would we care if we already have their money ? We also met at least a dozen other families during our stay who also shared with us they had terrible experiences, especially if they had already prepaid in advance. The following are the key facts of what happened with our stay. 1) In April 2025, my wife and I started to plan for our 25th anniversary on December 28, 2025 2) After extensive research, we finally chose the Grand Park Royal Cancun to be the best place, mainly because it offered large suites. 3) We specifically chose the master oceanfront suite for our stay. This is a two-room suite with a master bedroom that has a king bed and a Jacuzzi, and another separate living room with a queen sofa bed ( this was needed for our 2 daughters, age 12 and 14). 4) This room was ideal, as the master bedroom would allow my wife and I to celebrate romantic lovemaking intimacy on our 25th anniversary, while our two daughters could be in the separate living room by themselves. 5) When we arrived at the hotel in the early evening on our December 28 anniversary date (after a14 hour trip ) , the front desk was extremely disorganized, and we waited almost 45 minutes in line before we could check in. There were only two hotel representatives at front desk. This was extremely frustrating as we wanted to begin our 25th anniversary celebration in our room after our tiring trip. 6) After all the check-in procedures were finally finished, the front desk representative told us we would be staying in a single room with two double beds. I was utterly shocked to hear this because we had booked a master suite with two separate rooms. 7) The representative insisted to me that we had only booked a single room with two double beds for our stay. I was shocked to hear her say this. I requested for her to bring the manager out so that I could discuss this. I also had email confirmation to prove we booked a master 2 room suite. 8) The manager then came out to speak with me. His name was Josue. When he came out to speak with me, his story suddenly changed from the previous representative. He now admitted that, yes, we had in fact booked a master suite. However, he told me that the master suite was not available. He informed me that instead, we would be staying in a single room with two double beds. He now informed me that the next day, he would try to do his best to try and get us into the master suite that we had booked. 9) I was completely shocked at what he told me. First of all, it is clear that the original hotel representative had lied to me, because she tried to insist that I had booked only a single room. When this manager came out, he realized that there was no way I was going to accept such a lie. It appears they were hoping I was not going to dispute them. However, only when it was clear I was not going to accept that, then he admitted that in fact they did not have a master suite for me. I was very shocked at the dishonesty of this hotel, that they would lie to me about this important situation, and not tell me the truth upfront until they had no other choice but to admit to the truth. 10) I informed Josue that this situation was completely unacceptable. I told him this was our 25th anniversary and we had booked this two room suite well over 7 months in advance. I told him that my wife and I specifically booked the master suite because we needed privacy from our daughters so that we could celebrate our anniversary privately with intimacy. I told him this would ruin our 25th anniversary that we had been planning for over 8 months. 11) Josue looked at me and was very firm with me at this point in telling me that there was NO WAY they were putting us into the master suite we had booked, and that it was a final decision that they would put us in a single room with two double beds. It was clear to me there could be no discussion about us getting the master suite we had booked. We were going to be forced into a single room against our will, and that was THEIR final decision. 12) Once I realized that there was no way Josue was going to put us in the master suite that we had reserved over 7 months in advance, I then demanded that they, at the very least, compensate us for not giving us the room which we had booked and fully prepaid. 13) Josue asked me what kind of compensation I felt would be reasonable. I told him I wanted a $500 (Canadian) compensation. Here is why I felt that was reasonable: I knew the room rate of the master suite was $1200 Canadian per night on December 28 ( due to Christmas / new year) . I felt $500 was a very fair compensation because the master suite is the size of two full single rooms. They were only going to give me one single room. So we were only getting 50% of the room we had reserved. Therefore a $500 compensation from the normal room rate of $1200 was extremely fair as that is only a 40% compensation. This does not even take into consideration that our 25th anniversary was completely ruined at this point. 14) Josue told me that he would not be providing ANY financial compensation at all. He was very firm about that. He said all he could only offer me butler service to help me book restaurant reservations for my stay. I told him I was absolutely not interested in any butler service, because at this point, I had lost complete trust and confidence in this hotel. I was so angry, that I did not want anything further to do with people in this hotel who had lied, and tried to take advantage of me. I told him in no way did I want butler service and have to deal with their people any further. Also, I was already warned at the airport by Air Canada not to accept any other services from this hotel because this hotel is known to be VERY aggressive in trying to sell Time Shares, and they don't take no for an answer. 15) So on our 25th anniversary night, after 8 months of planning for this once-in-lifetime milestone, my wife up wound up staying in a single room with two double beds, along with our 12 and 14 year old daughters sleeping only a few feet away from us in the double bed, right next to us. All the private romance that my wife and I planned to have on our king bed and jacuzzi did not happen. Instead, our 25th anniversary was literally ruined by this hotel. 16 ) The next day I personally went again to see Josue again and informed him that they essentially has ruined our 25th anniversary evening. I asked him to give some careful thought as to whether his refusal to provide me with compensation was fair, given our anniversary was ruined. I asked him to spend time to think about this for at least one day and then call me back with a response. I was actually confident he would think about this and realize the impact to my wife and I. He assured me , that yes , he would think about it, and he would get back to me about it. 17) For the rest of my trip, I never heard back from Josue ever again . He did not honour his promise that he would call me back to give me a response. I walked by the front desk several times over the next week and saw him there working, but he never reached out to me. Clearly he knew the hotel already had my payment up front, so he had no reason to call me back. 18) For the rest of this trip, we felt we could not trust any staff person at the hotel to tell us the truth about anything. If we had felt that the hotel cared about the situation, or if Josue had reached out, it would’ve made such a big difference. But clearly they only care about their own profits. They do not care about ruining the 25th anniversary of their customers. Before posting the above review, I also sent this to the hotel to allow them a fair opportunity to comment on this situation. I expected someone else at management level could take appropriate action that Josue had refused to do. I received a reply from someone named Flavio, who acknowledged that their mistakes were true, and made an apology to me for the problems. Flavio then offered to "compensate" me with ONE night free hotel stay in the same room, which must be used by us within the next 10 months ! I replied back to inform Flavio that, for me to use this "one night free stay", I would need to spend $6,000 USD on airplane tickets, and travel for 14 hours to fly back to Mexico , just so that I could use this ONE night free stay !!!! Anyone with any common sense whatsoever can see that no one in their right mind would do such a thing ! Just to make sure Flavio could easily understand , I gave them a simple illustration of why their offer was crazy : If I went to a restaurant, and I ordered 2 steak dinners, and the restaurant came back and told me they could only give me one steak dinner, I would not agree to pay them for the 2 steak dinners. If I had already pre-paid for the dinners ( as I prepaid my master suite) I would expect them to refund me 50% of my bill. If the restaurant said no, and told me that I should come just back in the next 10 months for another free steak dinner as proper compensation, that would be absolutely ridiculous! However, Flavio replied back to me, and still insisted that they considered this was a "sincere and meaningful compensation on their part " and therefore that was the end of the discussion. I was astounded by such a complete lack of any understanding of customer satsifaction from Flavio. This was such an insult especially after ruining my 25th anniversary. It is now clear why this hotel did what they did. Once they have your money paid in advance , they feel they can do anything they want! To add further insult, in their reply, Flavio kept repeating talking points such as "they were treating me with the care and attention that I deserve" and "they are truly committed to provide EVERY guest with the EXCEPTIONAL experience that they deserve". I am positive they will reply to this review and will say those exactly same talking points again, which they do not mean whatsoever. Just watch. So this is a fair warning to anyone who books the very best suite in this hotel, and is foolish enough to pre-pay your suite like I did. When you arrive at the hotel after a long 14 hour trip, be prepared for this hotel to tell you the suite that you had pre-paid for is actually not available for you, and that you must stay in a single room half the size against your will. Then when you complain about what happened, they will do nothing about it, but they will tell you to return to the hotel within 10 months, and only at that time you will get a one night stay, of which you will need to spend $6,000 USD and 14 hours on airfare to return to an already terrible hotel. Finally, they will tell that you should regard this as "sincere and meaningful compensation". As as said, the hotel deserves a "NEGATIVE 5 STARS"
- daniellU9801TN (10/5): Great stay at Grand Park Royal - Had a great trip and weeks stay at the Grand Park Royal. Really enjoyed the service our butler, Jessica, provided. She made it super easy to book bali beds and dinner reservations. Their membership presentation was a bit aggressive and i don’t know why they asked us to do that so early in the trip before we even had a chance to check out the hotel. They asked us to do it the first full day we had there, which is way to early to know if you would want a membership. Other than that it was a great stay!
