We always love to go there not only because of the food but most importantly the great service there especially by Marie who served us every time we went there. Handdown (10/5): Home away from home - This Mandarin Oriental Hong Kong brings the level of attention to detail to another level. My perfect example of this amaizng hotel is this... I had a book I was reading and left it out on the reading nook. When I came back after a day of exploring and had the room made up, I had a bookmark on top of my book. Small detail but this really matters to me because they REALLY pay attention. From check in and even after checkout, they make sure they look after you and you feel supported. It's my second home basically when I'm in Hong Kong now and hope to continue traveling here for many years to come.

I made a request of changing from a twin room to a king room weeks before the stay on whatsapp and when I checked-in this wasn’t acknowledged at all and he didnt even know. The check-in person could also be warmer and faster, the lady next to him was even colder. I also made a request for upgrade and higher floor. But none of that was honoured either. Instead, I got a regular styled room (not even the light colored room with seating by the window) and was on a medium floor. There wasn’t anyone to open the doors and it was only around 11pm. My name and address was wrong in the system, again told someone on whatsapp but haven’t heard back. I haven’t been in this hotel for three years, and I will probably consider staying elsewhere.

The atmosphere was cozy and welcoming, and the whole evening was filled with laughter and great memories. The highlight was definitely the seafood—fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. Alongside the international and local dishes, it made the buffet feel special and satisfying. A big thank-you to Kennedy, Victor, and Dora, whose cheerful and attentive service made us feel truly cared for. Their warmth added so much to the experience. Overall, a delightful night that we’ll remember fondly, and we look forward to coming back again.

douglasw610 (10/5): Setting Standards in Excellence - We went to Hong Kong for the first time and the Mandarin Oriental Hotel set the tone for what was to become a most wonderful trip ever. The hotel is centrally located and it's easy to get pretty much anywhere. We took the AirPort Express to Hong Kong Station and walked to the hotel with help from the Chat feature in the Mandarin Oriental app. Our bags were whisked away, the registration was warm and welcoming and we were escorted to our room and given an in depth explanation of all of the room amenities and an invitation to visit with the concierge with anything else we could require. We scheduled spa treatments, made dinner reservations, had cocktails in the Captain's Lounge and were everywhere greeted warmly, attentively and always with a gracious smile. The attention to detail in room was a delight. We did not want to leave! You must go. And wonderful curated aromas everywhere. It was truly a special experience.

pianos2026 (10/5): Impeccable Service & “Home Away From Home” Experience with a Flawless Resolution - I purchased a 60th Anniversary Octopus Card from the Mandarin Oriental, Hong Kong gift shop during my stay before, but unfortunately, the card had noticeable quality issues and visible defects. Though I had already left Hong Kong, the hotel team went above and beyond to resolve the problem—reaching out promptly via email, actively communicating to ensure a smooth solution, and arranging for a replacement card to be sent via SF Express. They handled all customs clearance procedures and even helped correct a minor address mix-up (due to my work’s multiple campuses) without hesitation. What truly stood out was their commitment to customer satisfaction, even after my departure. Throughout both my stay and this follow-up process, I felt the hotel’s “home away from home” culture deeply: every interaction was warm, professional, and tailored to my needs. The package arrived today, perfectly packaged and in excellent condition. I am incredibly grateful for their dedication and would highly recommend Mandarin Oriental, Hong Kong for its exceptional service and genuine care for guests. I’ll definitely return!

She was super friendly to everyone and checked up on us to see if we were ok from time to time. My glass of water was never empty. She was wonderful and had the most enjoyable smile. DanielBond2014 (10/5): A wonderful experience - An absolutely fantastic hotel that pays close attention to detail and provides exemplary service, always aiming to exceed expectations. The hotel is ideally located, close to Central station and some good restaurants and shops, as well as being in the business district, whilst feeling like an oasis from the hustle and bustle of the city, with a beautifully calming aroma as you walk in. The rooms are clean, spacious, comfortable and luxurious. We also tried the buffet one evening and enjoyed unlimited lobster, sashimi and other wonderful food. I would particularly commend the service we received from Fiona (a guest service manager) who looked after us and made sure we had a memorable stay.

Superb room over looking Statue Square, with also a substantial view of Victoria Harbour. Well appointed room with a number of small gifts left in my room over the visit. Had drinks in the Captains bar with excellent prompt service. Had visited there many years ago and remember how Smokey it used to be. Much more pleasant experience now. Ate at Aubrey restaurant and the food was really first class. Had club lounge access with my room and made good use of the breakfast, afternoon tea and evening cocktails. The whole stay was really made by the friendliness of the lounge staff who were universally welcoming. Particularly friendly was Vangie who regularly served us cocktails and makes the best negronis in Hong Kong. Thank you to everyone at the hotel for a most memorable stay.

She provided impeccable service and was very attentive to our requests. We are long time MO fans and patrons; we enjoy our visits each and every time we visit, whether staying at the hotel or dining at the restaurants. Sadly, we have noticed the number of staff has dwindled in the past three to five years, with only a remaining handful of familiar faces. We understand circumstances change, however we do wish more staff would be hired to ease the understaffed team, who do their utmost best to accommodate each guest’s requests. Sometimes guests are not as understanding as they should be under short staffed environs, and staff are left feeling even more pressure to serve everyone at once, which is virtually impossible. As we said, we always enjoy our visits and love the MO; perhaps management can address this issue by growing the team to support current staff.

After a grueling 15-hour flight, our family was completely exhausted, but Karl’s incredible hospitality turned that around instantly. He treated us with the utmost care, going far above and beyond standard customer service. Not only was he amazing at showing us around and helping us get our bearings, but his dedication didn't stop on day one. The next morning, he personally brought us to breakfast just to make sure we were completely attended to and comfortable. It is rare to encounter someone so genuinely invested in their guests. 897JoanneA (10/5): Great comfort and service - as always - I came to HK for the Chinese New Year celebrations, I always stay at Mandarin Oriental Central whenever I visit Hong Kong. As ever, I felt looked after and was treated as a valued guest. Every part of my stay was 5*, from the smooth transfer to my room, the cleanliness and comfort of the room and every part of the hotel, to the friendly efficiency of all the staff. Last time I stayed, I gave my usual 5* feedback, adding the comment that, as a tea drinker, fresh milk in the minibar would be welcome, instead of the little packages. Guess what, every day a new jug of fresh milk was brought to my room - such careful attention to detail and proof that Mandarin Oriental listens to feedback and follows up on it. The staff are all friendly and welcoming, a big shout out to Jacquie on reception and Lobby Ambassador John Suen. My friends also stayed while I was there, to enjoy the harbour fireworks. They had never stayed before and they were blown away with every aspect of their stay. I am already looking forward to my next stay, which will probably be after the refurbishments are complete. I left my passport in my room locker upon checkout and only realised the aame upon reaching the airport airline check-in counter. It was less than 1:45hours to departure and the stress upon realisation can only be imagined. I contacted the hotel over WhatsApp - while sitting in airport express to go back to city. The hotel not just promptly responded but also found the passport within minutes and sent someone to physically deliver the passport to me at the airport express. No one once mentioned about charges - the only concern was that i am back to airport in time for my flight with the passport. This is called CUSTOMER SERVICE that many organisations strive for. Top notch hotel in all aspects and my all time favorite hotel in Hong Kong. Thank you Mandarin Oriental.

mrshhs (10/5): Exceptional, Exceptional, Exceptional Spa - The Mandarin Spa has not changed its exceptional service since our last visit. We came today for a couple’s massage for our anniversary and they did not disappoint, they exceeded our expectations. Instantly we were welcomed by the receptionists, Rain and Glenna. They were very welcoming and hospitable, and truly listened to our needs. Our spa attendants were very helpful, showed us around the Spa and facilities. The whole staff who attended to us greeted us and made us feel very special. The facilities were very clean, elegant, beautifully designed and the ambiance was truly relaxing. Our therapists Phoebe and Brinda were exceptional. They consulted us so they could tailor our treatments based on what we needed and what we wanted to achieve. They did not disappoint. They start the whole treatment by breathing in an out relaxing scent from infused water. The massage was so good that minutes into it, I fell asleep. Every penny spent at the Mandarin Spa Hong Kong is and always will be worth every penny. The quality service, exceptional staff, the facilities, and everything else are the reasons why we will always come back. It is no wonder that it is one of the top rated spas in the whole world. To finish off, there was a small anniversary treat for us waiting at reception which was ever so kind. Our experience was just so special. We can’t thank them enough. Our lives are so hard back home in the UK and coming to HK and experiencing this level of relaxation was just what we needed. The Group should commend its Spa staff, as they truly deserve it.

Special shoutout to the wonderful team Marco, Cedric, Herman and George for their hospitality, their impeccable service definitely made the night. The food is beautifully presented and we chose a few from the curated menu. The favourite is the Chiu chow fried rice and the barbecue charsiu ! 100/100 recommend for a cost family night out!

This year we were unable to celebrate on the exact date as Mandarin Grill is due to have a big renovation from mid February and will be closed for a few months. Thus, we went a few days before his birthday. We had a bottle of champagne, excellent steak that never go wrong and fish dishes too. We have a lovely cake and cheese platter. Everything was just perfect. We met the Chef too who came out to chat with customers! We are looking forward to the new Mandarin Grill and Bar in the second quarter. We had a club room, which allows access to the Mandarin Lounge. This was superb on every level. We would like to make a special mention to Vanjie. She was not just a very lovely person but provided a very professional service. Highly recommended this hotel when staying in Hong Kong. Thank you very much, Mark and Sharon.
