The service was excellent, and the atmosphere was pleasant and inviting. A big shout-out to the Egyptian Chef Ahmed. Thank you for your kindness and incredible food. My dish was so delicious, beautifully made, and full of flavor. His warm smile and welcoming personality made our dining experience truly special. You truly made our visit unforgettable. We’ll definitely be coming back!
- John (8/5): Good location, friendly staff and comfy beds - We enjoyed our stay, the room was spacious and comfortable. We didn't get to try out the breakfast or other facilities. I would like to suggest fitting ceiling fans so the aircon doesn't need to be run so much (our aircon was quite loud). Also, there was a faint smell of stale smoke - I am a fan of non smoking floors. Overall, I would definitely stay here again.
- phaulynt (2/5): Bad service - During a recent family trip from Abu Dhabi to Dubai, we encountered significant difficulties at a hotel due to the unexpected absence of my son's Emirates ID. Our unplanned trip necessitated an unscheduled medical appointment in Dubai, and consequently, we had not booked a hotel in advance. My son's Emirates ID was at his school in Abu Dhabi. The hotel refused to accommodate us without his physical ID, despite presenting a UAE Pass copy as proof of identity and guardianship. We appealed to the hotel manager, explaining the circumstances and our parental guardianship, but our request was denied with unprofessional and unacceptable language. The manager's response, stating he would not risk a 50,000 AED fine, was both discourteous and inappropriate. This interaction significantly impacted our family and left us with a deeply negative impression of the hotel's customer service and management. I would not recommend this hotel to other families. The manager's unprofessional conduct raises serious concerns about the overall standards of the establishment.

The AC was a little loud but worked. Breakfast was ample and diverse. The omelet station was a nice touch and they changed the grill items daily. We even had chicken fajitas this morning.

I stopped coming since covid happened. After 4 years I am back again at this vibrant city. What can I say. The service is still as excellent as before. Mr Wael, the sales manager entertained all my request since I made the booking. Wael is friendly and very accomodating. All the Front Office staffs, Abdelrahman, n few others whom I forgot their names were very friendly and gracious. The concierge Nazeer and Mohamad, driver Riaz and Syaed were kind and polite. The room attendant Hady is so attentive n caring. The room is always very clean when I come back, spotless is the word. Hady is creative and always made the bed beautiful. Always greeting me wth his warm smile. Room price is affordable. Riviera is more like the 90's boutique hotel. Well maintained and a touch of the Middle Eastern decor. Very near to shopping area Dheira, just 2 minutes walk you can shop everything you need, 5 minutes walk to the Metro station, and you cannot run out of eatery outlets, plenty of food in Dheira. The sous chef is very friendly too, food is good, the breakfast selection is wide, oatmeal is splendid, it caters to all nationalities. I tried the a la carte, definitely not a disappoinment, the set lunch was very good until I came back for more for dinner. The room is spacious, it has its own closet area which is an advantage. A lot of room if you have lots of luggage. The creek view is breathtaking. So be sure to book that room category. Room is not that contemporary but it's cozy and large n very clean n comfortable, which is important. I will definitely come back and stay here again with my family. - Ian (10/5): Good Deira location and good value - As a previous resident of Dubai, the hotel met all my expectations: namely being in a great location in the older part of the city, a few minutes walk from Baniyas square metro station, restaurants, supermarkets and shops of all kinds. It also was clean, friendly and helpful staff, and good value for money compared with newer hotels. The only issue is no parking, but having a car in that area is a hassle compared to using the metro and taxis. A taxi to the airport is 25-30 Dirhams and 10-15 minutes. I recommend the hotel, and want to give particular thanks to the employee who helped me round up the 10 dirhams in coins which I needed to park across the street (but not easy to find a space) on the day I checked in and before returning a car. I would definitely stay there again.

- Tony (2/5): Don't waste your money - I booked a royal suite creek view with Balcony for New Year’s Eve to have good time with my girlfriend and watch the fireworks. They denied us staying at the hotel because we don’t have a marriage certificate, although the laws have changed in the UAE. When I requested a refund they rudely refused. If you book with this hotel you will be loosing your money for nothing.

But I was happily surprised with the cleanness of the hotel, special decor and ambience, space and helpful staff. The street behind the hotel had shops and restaurant within walking distance with more locals than tourists.

The staff, from the front desk and bell boy to the kitchen very friendly and approachable. The buffet breakfast was very great with the variety of food they served every day, and delicious. - Verified traveler (2/5): Disappointing - Even though it features parking availability, there’s no hotel parking, so you have to leave the car in a common parking area. Room had very dirty windows and stained pillow cases, not mentioning the oddity of the fan carved in the bathroom window, with direct access to the outside (passageway for insects). Restaurant personnel was totally unaware of menu’s availability and, once they figured out what I was asking (after 10 minutes), they said it was too late because the kitchen closes at 15:00 (15:01 what the clock was showing at that time). Restaurant even more disappointing at breakfast when, after requesting soy milk, the only answer I got was “we have fresh milk”; useless to try to understand what type of milk was that (whole, skimmed, low fat, etc.) because the answer was still “we have fresh milk”. Reception could have been more helpful, generally speaking. I don’t believe “I don’t know” is an acceptable answer from a concierge (sort of) upon a request of information about a restaurant in the nearbys. The room appearance is very 70’s but, that’s about personal taste, very arguable.

We checked in early in the day and were able to get a room promptly without having to wait for the normal check-in time. The room was large (sitting room + bedroom) as was the bathroom. The hotel's location was good as well - a 5-minute walk to the abra stop on Dubai Creek, a 5-minute walk to the Metro station at Baniyas Square (and the airport is about a 15-minute ride), and there were numerous restaurants in the area. The only negative (and it was not really the hotel's fault) was that it was very noisy because of all the construction in the area including a building directly adjacent to the hotel where construction was going on late at night. If I returned to Dubai, I would stay at the hotel again.

On arrival, it looked a bit dilapidated; and the carpets in the 4th floor foyer where our room was,had a heavy damp smell. On first impression it was very disappointing . Worse,at check in the hotel tried to collect a room upgrade fee of $41.88 AUD which they waived after an argument,- the current price on Expedia was only $88 per night, much less than we paid at time of booking!.The room, once inside was very good and our room attendant a lovely young man who does clever presentations with the bath towels. We were happy with the location, the food in the restuarant and the view to Dubai Creek. HOWEVER on checkout, rushing to an early morning international flight, they stung us for an added 30 dirhams in cash, when settling our account .BUT we paid an add-on of $51.82 taxes at the time of booking! I argued we had paid lots of tax but they insisted on payment. Scam? We left feeling peeved.

A short walk to local markets for bargain souvenirs, and a short taxi to the city centre Mall for a great selection of food, boutique shops, etc. Located in old Dubai, the back streets are not looked after by the authorities like the new Dubai is, however the hotel is well worth a visit. We would definitely stay again given the need to visit Dubai.
