Наталья (2/5): Полное разочарование!!!. - Без завтрака. Расположение нормальное, много рядом кафе, магазинов с продуктами. Кухня оснащена необходимым. Есть куда прогуляться. Мария (горничная) единственный человек который как мог помогала в решении проблем! Номер не соответствовал заявленному при бронировании. Фото номера и какой он будет узнали только при заезде. Хозяин абсолютно не решал проблемы. Окна выходят на стену, сверху все замуровано, полное отсутствие свежего воздуха. Не понятно какое время суток за окном, так как нет света. Маленький санузел, все старое. Белье серого цвета. 3 дня номер топило канализацией, одну ночь отправили ночевать в другой отель. Только при обращении в Booking удалось добиться переселения в другую гостиницу на последние 2 дня.

Natalia (8/5): Stosunek jakości do ceny w sam raz - Lokalizacja super, blisko środków komunikacji miejskiej, balkon z widokiem, pralka, suszarka do ubrań i do włosów, klimatyzacja i ogrzewanie, właściwie wszystko co było nam potrzebne jest Słychać było wszystkie rozmowy i ruchy sąsiadów, okno w łazience niedomykające się i bez żadnej zasłonki, ciśnienie wody pod prysznicem słabe, a jeśli ktoś inny w budynku korzystał z łazienki w tym samym czasie - zanikające całkowicie, ekspres do kawy - zapewne po poprzednich gościach - z pleśniejącymi fusami w środku, pościel i ręczniki niedoprane, sofa i łóżko wyrobione i zapadające się
Beatriz (10/5): Exceptional - We stayed fifteen days in this apartment and couldn't be happier with the location, the flat and the host. After five visits to Istanbul, I see Balat as one of the best bases from which to visit the city. It's close to a ferry (a must for seeing Istanbul), buses and a tramway line. There are interesting sights within walking distance, and it offers a relaxing blend of hip and traditional, with fascinatingly conservative Çarşamba and Fatih nearby. The top-floor balcony apartment was spacious for two, with a good-sized bedroom and living room (a relief given the profusion of cramped rentals), a good shower in a bathroom with ventilation (not a given in this city), and lovely timber floors. The building had been renovated and only has three flats, one per floor. The owner, Mehmet, is a well-traveled polyglot who is very welcoming and worked with us to resolve a booking issue. If this place is available and you don't have a condition that prevents you from walking up two flights of stairs, book it, you won't regret it. The sofa could be improved
Gro (9/5): We enjoyed the stay very much - Very comfortable apartment in a great neighbourhood full of cafes, restaurants and small shops. Not far from tram station and busses. Good communication with owners and they were helpful with info and booking of taxi for airport. We very much enjoyed our stay and hope to be back one day 😊

Ana (10/5): Exceptional - Everything was extremely pleasant. The location helped easily immerse into the Turkish traditional atmosphere, lots of places to eat, to enjoy exploring, a walking distance to many great places to visit. Nothing at all.

Łukasz (7/5): Good - Very good contact with the host! He was very useful giving us early access to the room. Beautiful neighborhood. Many bakeries around and very close to the tram/bus station. One of the apartments was really big and comfortable.
Robert (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful and spacious apartment in a lovely neighbourhood. Mehmet was always quick to reply and resolve any issues. The apartment was clean and had everything we needed. I don't get the complaints some reviews have regarding there only being busses nearby. There's a tram station right next to the bus station, using this tram will take you to the spice market, from where you can very easily jump on another tram to go to the other tourist attractions. Take it in the other direction and it'll take you in the direction of Istanbul airport (2 easy transfers). The tram was never crowded or uncomfortable. Also, Balat is really nice to explore with good restaurants (mainly Turkish) and we much preferred it to Karakoy or Taksim area. The only downside was that because it's an old building it's relatively easy to hear the neighbours who were fighting a couple of nights. I'm a light sleeper so I had to use earplugs a few times.

Dk2020 (8/5): Very good - Fast and efficient check-in. Big and comfy bed. The apartment is located at a lovely neighborhood where you can find lots of cafes and small shops selling handmade products. However, the only way getting to the city center is by bus and transport in Istanbul s so notorious that walking is sometimes faster than taking a bus and we more than once ended up standing in a bus which was not really moving for more than 20 minutes. I would consider living nearby a metro station next time. The apartment is advertised as 40m2 big but in fact it is probably only 25m2. The chairs and tables are not designed for working remotely. The small windows in the apartment are all facing a wall. I had a feeling that we were staying at a dungeon.

A.badawy (9/5): Good stay in Ottobalat apartments - -The privacy and safety of the apartment, the apartment. -The place was clean and tidy. -Facilities inside the studio including an air conditioner, Hob, washing machine, kettle, coffee, cutlery and dishes. -The street does have few shops/mini- markets, bakery, restaurants and cafes so you can get anything needed withing a short walking distance. -The communication and immediate response from ( Mehmet ) when needed support. -The good gesture from Mehmet when ensured we were safe after incident in Istiklal Street. The downsides of the place: - The studio was not well ventilated as the windows open to a closed space. - The location as it's a bit far from attractions apart from the ones in balat so you will have to take a taxi 10-20 minutes, a public transportation (around 5 minutes walk from the apartment) which is around 20-30 minutes or walk which is around 50-70 minutes. - Balat does have streets with very high incline so occasionally you will have to take a rough walk.
