Guest Reviews
- Timothy (10/5): - This hotel is really close to the subway entrance which made getting around so much easier than driving. The spa worked well. Also our room with a kitchenette was a blessing to sace on costs.
- Mosi (8/5): - Not friendly to the guests.
- Lori (8/5): - It was very clean and some of the staff were very nice.
I had one issue, the day I checked in I received our room and the next day, my room key didn’t work. I went to the front desk and they said I checked out, which was untrue, but then they said I need to check in again. It was a little confusing and scary but in the end it worked out. I will stay there again.
- U384RLrachela (10/5): Well priced, clean, and comfortable - We stayed in a 3 person room - two single beds and one double (sofa) bed in the main room. This was very well suited to us as a group of three! Room was clean and comfortable. Hotel is well located, literally 1 minute walk to a tube station that is maybe 5 mins to the main square (Marienplatz) - tube is well priced so this was very good. We didn’t have breakfast, but the room had a fridge & there was a supermarket/bakery nearby to the hotel. Would recommend! :)
- Ross (10/5): - Very nicely appointed room.
- Mark (10/5): - Great location right next to the underground station and then simple and cheap to get anywhere in Munich,
- Amy (10/5): - Friendly staff, had lemon water at reception.
- Joseph (8/5): - Very nice middle of the road hotel. Not fancy but comfortable. Great location with easy access to transportation.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Overbooked - We were put in Leonardo Hotel Munchen City East instead cause the West was overbooked. The West hotel had no air conditioning the reception staff told us. They paid for our taxi to the West hotel but it was like a 20 min ride. Be aware that you may be put in a room that is like 18km away from the center.
- Lior (8/5): - Very nice hotel, value for money,
Right next to Ubahn station, breakfast is nice, staff are nice, terrace with inner garden view
Only drawback was lack of air conditioning, because it’s a hot August.
- Jorg (10/5): - Very clean, easy access to public transportation. Great price to value ratio.
- rlaurak (8/5): Good value - Stayed here while visiting family for Christmas. I booked a quiet room and it was. It was easy to control the room temperature. There was a balcony overlooking a garden area that would be very nice in summer. The room could use a few updates but it was good value for money. The front desk was helpful and allowed me to borrow a converter as I had brought the wrong one.
- BrittSieg (8/5): Great hotel - This hotel was nice except there was no air conditioning which I must have missed when I chose it. Otherwise it was a good location and the room was nice. We stayed here while visiting for Oktoberfest and felt comfortable and easy to get to with the train location.
- Yusuf (8/5): - The hotel was overall very nice and clean. However, the one downfall is it being a bit dated. The power outlets provided poor amount of power and the water system was old fashioned. The location is excellent and quiet, with a U station just around the corner and a nice grocery store nearby.
- Kristin (10/5): - Excellent staff! Very helpful and friendly. The breakfast was incredible. The room was very clean, the beds comfy and the shower warm. Couldn’t ask for anything better!
- theatakan (2/5): No choice but to seek temporary shelter in your car - Top floor is uninhabitable.
Lack of proper cooling and the roof isolation takes the temperature to 30 degrees.
Hotel explained it that they put fan in our room and addressed the air conditioner not provided in their web site.
As the discomfort of the hot temperature left you with no choice but to seek temporary shelter in your car. You may prefer to leave the room like I did,
Very ignorant, lack of empathy and lack of understanding in the Guest Relation section.
Don’t be surprised if you find an offer of discount of 30% for your next stay.
But NO, I will be paying full charge to get a comfortable night's sleep.
- RISA (8/5): - breakfast is nice
- sammQ2571JK (10/5): A little gem - A really lovely hotel, 24 hour check in was handy, room was a great size and the kitchenette was handy if staying longer. Really close to train station but in a nice quiet area and quick into the city. Would stay again if ever visiting Munich. Beds all comfy and staff friendly.
- Calvin (10/5): - Everything was easy and quick, staff was helpful and friendly!
- TaylorTraveller20 (2/5): BEWARE!! Awful treatment!! - Beware!! - have attempted to request to cancel a booking on compassionate grounds at this hotel A MONTH IN ADVANCE and this has been rejected. Shocked, disappointed and disgusted to be honest. Avoid this chain!
- Jesper (6/5): Ok value vs price - Price vs service is fine - clean place, but in no way out of the ordinary.
Breakfast buffet was quite large, but quantity over quality.
- KONSTANTINOS (10/5): - Exceland
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Staff were friendly though there was little problem of our checkin (the room door cannot be opened with the e-keycard). They were very helpful and we finally got in and settled. The room is tiny but room equipment is quite complete, it even have mini kitchen. The location is far from the down town but still close to U-Bahn station. It is high price-value compare to other hotel we stayed in our Europe trip this time
- Doaa (8/5): Great location, good hotel - The hotel was in a great location , subway station just 100 m away. The rooms were clean . Our trip was a group of 4 couples and they gave us two single beds which was not fun. Also the pillows were really not comfortable. It's a 4 star hotel they can invest in nicer towels too. But overall the hotel was good enough, quiet and clean.
- 403kayleem (10/5): Wonderful place to stsy - We really enjoyed our stay here! The rooms were modern, spacious, and clean. The staff was very friendly. The location was great-just a few min walk to the subway which takes you all over Munich! The price is affordable, and we found it to be a great place to stay for Oktoberfest!! I recommend it to anyone, and I would definitely stay here again!
- tdl004 (10/5): Great Location - This hotel was in a great location, only about 50 steps to the subway station.
Breakfast in the hotel was very good, and the bar was open late! Nice rooms, clean, and friendly staff. It was overall a great stay.
- Kris (10/5): - The hotel was perfect for our needs. Super close to the U (2 minutes walk) for easy transport throughout the city. Close enough to walk to Oktoberfest at the wiesn as well! Room was on the smaller side, but had all the amenities we needed. Staff was friendly and the restaurant downstairs was delicious. Would stay here again.
- Evelyn (8/5): Nice place away from old town - Room was a bit small, but was clean. Front desk staff were always friendly and helpful. Location was a bit south of the major tourist areas/old town. But was a short walk to the subway!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Just all neat and a good breakfast and friendly staff
Only downside was we didn’t get as big a room as I thought we’d paid for - expected a sofa area but didn’t have one, just a desk.
- Lingthedream (10/5): Oktoberfest, great location! - This hotel was a pleasant surprise! The location is fantastic, close to everything, literally a half block to the underground and 2 stops to the Oktoberfest festivities. The breakfast was great also! To get there from airport we took a taxi which was 90 euros and took over an hour with traffic. We took the train back and it was so easy and cheap. They have escalators if you’re worried about luggage. There was some construction on the train line which made us get off before airport but they had busses and free taxis that brought you the rest of the way.....the taxis from this point are free so don’t get suckered by the ones trying to charge. My only suggestion is to double check the construction from airport to downtown first because the line to get the taxi and bus from the airport to the train was very long when we got dropped off at airport.
- Shulamit (6/5): - Single bed uncomfortable the pillow was also uncomfortable.
- Lodrjfur (10/5): - We loved the room - it had a balcony, tiny kitchenette area, and a separate bedroom area, and with the windows closed you couldn’t hear anything in the hotel. The ONLY downside is that we were there during a super hot heatwave and the room had no a/c. Leaving the windows open allowed for a wonderful breeze all night, but the city noise was quite loud and it didn’t help the heat during the day.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Great hotel but no A/C - Friendly staff and very clean.
There was no air conditioner while weather is hot, you can not open the windows as the hotel is located by a very busy noisy road. There must be a Hospital close by as ambulances keep you awake Day and nights. I guess in the future I do not go to this hotel during hot Summer. Otherwise, it’s a great deal for being close to station and price.
- pallb (8/5): Good hotel - The hotel is clean, the staff is helpful and friendly, the breakfast is good. Two minutes to underground route U3, by U3 there is 8min to city center. We would go there again. I would like to see recycle bins for plastic, metal, glass, paper etc. by the elevator doors.
- Bortle123 (4/5): NO AC!! Ungodly hot!!! DO NOT STAY HERE. - Staying here in the middle of the hottest month on record in Europe and there is no AC! Receptionist could not care less when I brought up this fact and even told me “come back in the morning after I’ve finished” so he didn’t have to deal with it. 7 hours I have just spent tossing and turning on an important business trip it is absolutely outrageous this alleged 4* hotel has no AC and by the way it’s a lot closer to 2.5/3*
Paid for a double room given 2 x single beds a dwarf would struggle to sleep on.
No AC at all - unbearable heat.
Staff not friendly or accommodating after complaining about the heat and asking to be moved room receptionist laughed at me (coloured gentleman with grey soul patch) Absolutely positively will not be back to this hell hole.
Overall run down and dilapidated, paid over €100 a night to stay in this hotel and feel utterly betrayed.
3/10 do not stay here if you want to enjoy your trip!
ABYSMAL!
- Craig_n_Anne (8/5): Friendly & lots of additions let down by no aircon & leaking shower door - Basically, this hotel is professionally run, clean and of a good interior standard. Free chocolates and apples are provided in Reception in addition to iced lemon water. The comfort rooms are located at the front of the hotel, which means that traffic noise is very loud even on the upper floors. This wouldn't be a major issue because of the double glazing if it weren't for the fact that there is no air conditioning. The hotel does provide a tower fan but in order for this to work effectively the doors to the road have to be open which naturally lets in all the sound & fumes as well :-(
The Blackout curtain is very effective and the net curtains for privacy also. The provision of a kettle and some sachets for making tea and coffee was very welcome, small chocolates & free sparkling water were provided as well as a vanity kit, shoehorn, soap, sewing kit etc and the possibility of many other items being provided free of charge should the guest have forgotten them.
The only other major negative (apart from the temperature/noise issue), was the unfortunate design of the shower, in that between the wall and the glass door of the shower cubicle, is a large gap. This resulted in water going all over the bathroom floor, the hall floor and even a small amount into the corridor of the hotel. This obviously shouldn't have happened and we did not enjoy having to mop this up using own towels.
We didn't take breakfast but it looked very professionally presented and of a good quality, although this should really be expected for the price (13 Euros per person).
- Dr G (6/5): Great service let down by no aircon & car noise. - Overall the room was in very good condition as well as the bathroom and both were a reasonable size for the type of room (basic "comfort"). Home Comforts were provided in plenty such as a sewing kit, shoehorn, kettle, tea and coffee sachets, sweets on the bed, vanity kit, chocolates and apples available at the reception desk. However, 1 major negative for us was the fact that the shower cubicle leaked very heavily even when shut properly due to the considerable gap between the wall and the glass door at the hinge. This resulted in water going all over the floor of the bathroom, the hall and even slightly into the corridor under the main door which we had to mop up with our own towels. It's also worth noting that whilst the bed was comfortable, the pillows of a very decent quality, there was no air conditioning. The hotel provided a tower fan which we positioned in the open doorway to outside, but this resulted in considerable traffic noise from below; even though we were high up on the fourth floor.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Neutral - Okay hotel nothing special.
- David (10/5): Leonardo West👌 - This was a very nice hotel and conveniently situated by the metro. Very close to city center.
Takes a bit long getting to the Messe with one stop over.
- Jyoti69 (2/5): Birthday Trip for Hubby - My husband and myself came to Munich to stay at your hotel to celebrate his birthday which we had arranged with friends of ours who live in Germany. We arranged this in January 2019 where we all booked this hotel and paid for it.
On Friday 15 March 2019 our friends came to the hotel to meet us only to get told that it was overbooked and they will need to go your partner hotel which is 2km away at NYX Hotel and frankly I thought this was appalling.
This really was disappointing as we all arranged to meet and stay at your hotel. If we have all booked 3months in advance for a hotel and paid for it then the room should not have been given away at any cost. The customer service is terrible as you could not accommodate paying customers a room they had booked.
I have never ever had this issue in any other hotel and I would def never be recommending Leonardo Hotels to anyone as apparently we were told by the staff that this happens often where they overbook and have to re allocate customers to different hotels.
This was such an inconvenience as we then left this hotel to stay with our friends at the other one NYX that they went too.
Also when checking into NYX we was asked for a credit /debit card where they would take a £50 deposit which we get back in cash in Euros. Bearing in mind this was our last night and we would not be needing £50 in euros this system was just ridiculous. We shouldn’t have to pay a deposit for a room which was bad already paid for at the other hotel.
Also this NYX was very far from the city centre and train station.
This holiday was totally messed up thanks to Leonardo overbooking. Also priority should be given to those who have booked and paid for the rooms 3 months in advance. The rooms should never have been given away in the first place. Our friends travelled 2 hours to get to this hotel only to be told they need to go even further to a different once.
Totally Disgusting.
- PetDim (6/5): By far not 4 stars - You enter the hotel with difficulty small not automated door is becoming a challenge with luggage.
Small reception with an unfriendly lady from Eastern Europe. Everything is odoured with an air refresher that is very peculiar and annoying for me. Feels like in cheap oriental place. Room at 12 o’clock is not ready. You put your luggage in a small room, use a toilet in the basement and leave to work.
In the evening luggage is still in the small room- nobody thought to bring it up in the room. Anyway I go to the room and the door to corridor is widely open. Strange. I call reception and nobody is picking up the phone. A small search of the room for bombs or narcotics left while door is open and finally time to relax.
Room is dusty and worn. Bedsheets have some wholes. Everything looks old and not thoroughly cleaned ever.
There is small kitchen in a wardrobe. I looked in and closed the door. Dirty enough in order not to use it.
Bathroom basic, worn and broken. Douche cabin is small with poor drainage. After a shower water came back from cabin to bathroom through the drainage system. I had to wait for 5 minutes in order the waste water to go back, before being able to go out. After this you need to clean the floor somehow...
After this experience I did not dared to check the breakfast.
This hotel needs renovation and before renovation it needs decent housekeeping.
We were charged app. 200 Euro per room because of event in the city at the same time. For this place it was a robbery.
- handojo1965 (8/5): 1 night at Leornardo Muenchen - We had a good breakfast with a nice back ground of snow, Room is a bit smaller for 3 persons and we had a room which shape like an attic, bit hard to get on to the bed. The reception when we checked in was not really friendly. Over all average
- Stephierin (8/5): Good location but room service lacking - The facilities were good, nice rooms with comfortable beds, and good water pressure in the shower with hot water. The staff left a lot to be desired however. The staff were not rude but certainly weren't helpful/particularly friendly. And the house keeping staffs cleaning choices were just odd and confusing.
We had two rooms and wanted one as a twin. We pushed the beds apart and each day the house keeping staff would push them back together, they would not however return the bedside table so we would either have to move the table or push the beds back apart? So why bother? Why not just leave it how we had set it up, that is how we had requested the room after all.
We stayed four nights and none if our amenities were replaced. They have a sign saying if you wish to keep your towels to hang them up which we did but each day they would replace everything except the face washer. Every night when we returned to our rooms we would just laugh at the bizarre choices the housekeeping staff would make - one day they gave us clean cups but returned our dirty tea spoons to us. It was just laziness all around.
But overall I think this hotel is a good choice. It is a 30 second walk to a U Bahn station and only 15 mins from Marienplatz and the hotel itself was quite nice, just don't expect much in the terms of room service!
- Martin (8/5): Munich hotel - We chose this hotel because it was close to where our daughter lives so it was ideal. If you were just visiting Munich it is a bit out of the centre but close to a U-Bahn station so very easy to travel. It is also just a 10 minute walk to the zoo. We were given 2 single beds that were a bit hard. Top tip - ask for a room facing the back of the hotel as the main road at the front is very busy. The hotel restaurant is good but a bit on the pricey side
- 195rudolfs (10/5): Affordable family hotel in the midst of Munich - It's a great hotel in the middle of Munich near the U3/U6 subway lines. The rooms are modern, bright and friendly. They have a great breakfast bar which is included. So is the underground parking, which however is not for the faint-of-the hard to get in and out. Works well for smaller vehicles but is a little tough with an SUV.
- DOUGLAS (8/5): - Easy access to the trains, nice neighborhood, very clean and comfortable.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Quiet area with lots of shops nearby. Close 20 minute walk to Oktoberfest too.
- Fleece71 (8/5): Perfect for Oktoberfest - Ok - no air con and the rooms are not huge but decent value for money for a twin room in a great position close to the train and a nice coffee shop.
We only had breakfast on one morning and it was good quality and offered a wide selection.
We found the front desk to be friendly on arrival and would stay here again if I was in Munich.
- brian1963 (4/5): Need to try a lot harder - The hotel is reasonably well located for most of Munich and not far from the Octoberfest. Rooms wise ok beds were comfy and we have a balcony but no air con which meant a sauna unless you had the window open. Bathroom was adequate with nice toiletries. Front of house staff were poor in my opinion and made hardly any effort. It is attached to an Italian restaurant where breakfast is served the breakfast was very good. One point I must mention is you can’t get a drink on a Sunday evening as the restaurant is closed.
- Victoria (8/5): - I stayed here in a twin room with my son whilst visiting family. Location wise, the hotel is easy to find, close to the U Bahn and only 10 mins or so into Marien Platz. The room was clean, tidy and well maintained. The shower was lovely. There is a nice park a short walk away and shopes / places to eat near by. The staff were always polite and helpful. Could not fault them. I would stay here again if the price was within my budget.
- Ari (10/5): Great hotel with immediate underground access - Great proximity to underground. Room was clean and had everything we needed. Hotel restaurant was good.
- Etienne (4/5): Smelly - We had two rooms, mine was okay but my colleague room smelled like something was rotting under his bed, horrible. Hotel could not do anything.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Central location great service - The hotel is centrally located to the trains. Many places to eat close by. The staff was always friendly and courtious. The room was always clean. I would highly recommend anyone going to Munich to stay here.
- Sherri (10/5): Perfectly located for Oktoberfest visitors - The Oktoberfest grounds were less than 2km away. To walk was maybe 20 min thru a lovely residential area. Subway entrance was half a block away so also very convenient. The hotel was very modern and clean. Would definitely stay again!
- Nelson (10/5): Great spot for Oktoberfest! - Stayed at Leonardo Hotel for Oktoberfest. It was the best price for quality and proximity to Oktoberfest. Staff was very friendly. Enjoyed the whole experience.
- Donna (10/5): Great hotel! - Hotel was lovely although we didn't make good use of all of the facilities including the lovely rooftop terrace. U bahn station is practically outside the hotel door with links to city centre. Staff were very helpful and friendly.
- Claudia (10/5): Great hotel, very close to U-Bahn - This is our second stay at this hotel (we stayed for 5 nights the previous August). We found the front desk staff to be very accommodating and all the hotel staff to be friendly. The location is just outside of the touristy areas but, with the U-Bahn stop about 100 meters away, it takes about 10 minutes to get to the city center. We never had a problem with excessive noise. Overall, we had pleasant stays at this hotel
- Verified traveler (4/5): Avoid - Not a great hotel, very dated and understaffed. Room had a weird smell, stayed in summer and no air/ventilation. 'We can't control the weather'...but for €199 per night they could at least provide a fan.
I looked at the breakfast and skipped it. Local area pretty boring. Would skip and stay elsewhere
- dawn (4/5): not recommended! - Room was on the street dude & was SUPER NOISY! Also, no AC and room was not clean (dirty mirror in bathroom, used towels hanging...). Plus, the beds- we slept on the couch Bc it was a tad bit softer. Expensive for the crappy room and $hitty location on the street.
- Travel Bird (10/5): modern hotel close to the subway. - We were pleased with our spacious room with a kitchenette although we wished it had included a refrigerator. The subway entrance is only half a block from the entrance. Tanglemann supermarket is just a two-minute walk, and St. Korbinian Catholic Church just a few blocks away.
- Ioannis (10/5): A great choice for anyone visiting Munich! - Great accommodation, recommend it 100%
- Verified traveler (10/5): Close to train station - Small nice hotel, steps away from train, gingerbread cookies each day!
- Margaret (8/5): Convenient, comfortable hotel. - Comfortable room and good bathroom. Small kitchen very useful, especially the fridge. Staff were very courteous and helpful.
- Jesse (10/5): Great find in Munich - I really enjoyed my stay. Good breakfast friendly staff good location. Hotel is very quiet.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Very nice hotel staff, somewhat nearby Theresianwiese
- kirsty (8/5): - Great hotel! Very central, train station is a few minutes up the road!
- Joanna (8/5): Very convenient - We stayed here for 8 days and we enjoyed it very much. The staffs were very helpful especially when I needed to confirm my booking for transportation back to the airport. It was in German and Christina was very kind enough to assist me and made sure it was confirmed. They have internet access and we actually did our last minute booking in one of our tours. They hotel has this little kitchenette with a small fridge & microwave which was very convenient for us to make sandwiches or just warm up some soup from the store that is close to the hotel. And of course, it's just a few steps from the "Underground" which is their "Metro". Mind you though, this hotel has no AC but they let us borrow an electric fan (I take that responsibility of not checking about the AC, I just presumed that all hotels have it).
- Mary (8/5): - We have stayed in Leonardo Hotel Munchen City West on many of our visits to Munich. The location is ideal as u bahn nearby and also rooms are comfortable and clean.Service and hotel amenities are excellent.Neighbourhood is lovely also.Accommodation is excellent value for money. We intend using this hotel in the future.
- Peter (10/5): Nice place! - The hotel is located just metres from a subway station so access tot eh city is quick and easy. My room had a fridge and small kitchenette along with everything else you would want.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - The door lock to my room malfunctioned and I had to wait over an hour for the entire lock to be replaced as they had no manual overide
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great Inexpensive Hotel for Visiting Munich - This is an excellent 3 star hotel (using the rating system as designed by Expedia). While they don't have high end amenities needed for 4 star status, they do 3 star very well. The room was clean and very functional. The staff was superb; helpful and friendly. The attached restaurant had a breakfast buffet that was delicious and well stocked.
While not in the center of town, the hotel was a short walk from the U-bahn and 5 minutes from the Marienplatz.
We highly recommend the Leonardo.
- Ricardo (6/5): Very good location - Best of the hotel is its location, no more than 50 yds away from the train station (u2 line) which actually connects your-self to the main points in Munich by walking distance.. The restaurant "La Fontana" is very good; even though, they do not have an extensive menu, all dishes I had tried out were very good; Breakfast buffet was very good too
- Michael (6/5): Stick with the attached restaurant. Outstanding. - Unfortunate difficulty with internet access and the free WiFi. Even premium option was almost unusable on the 3rd floor. Completely disrupted my business trip sadly & meant I had an intensive 2 hour breakfast with the laptop catching up.
Very very expensive during industrial Bauma week pushed price from £70 to circa £300 a night.
- Victoria (8/5): Great hotel - It's not the nicest hotel from the outside but once inside it is lovely (and has a fantastic restaurant attached). It's fantastic that there is free wifi throughout the hotel & the staff are friendly. The only problem we found was because we are those annoying people that enjoy exercising I picked this hotel as it had a gym... it is not a gym. It's a cross trainer & a bike (that doesn't work) so we were hugely frustrated with that, otherwise a good hotel
- James (6/5): Munich Stay - Our stay was ok at best. It is supposed to be a nonsmoking hotel and the room smelled of stale cigarettes. If you can get past the smell, the room and hotel were nice enough.
- Verified traveler (6/5): מלון נחמד עם צוות נחמד. - שרות חדרים גרוע..
יש לפטר את המנקה + לדאוג לשרות חדרים גם בשעות הערב..
- Verified traveler (10/5): SATISFIED WITH ACCOMADATIONS - The room was comfortable even though small but durable, after all basically your there only to sleep. The house keeping were good. You have access to a balcony which was very nice to use.
I recommend the Breakfast Buffet, good selection of breads, meat and cheeses, hot dishes of eggs, bacon, pork breakfast sausages, mini beef patties and much more...Excellent.
The only thing I can criticized is that they did not provide hand wash cloths (odd).
- AJ (10/5): City break to Munich - The hotel is conveniently situated near the bus and U-Bahn making it ideal for exploring Munich and surrounding areas. Hotel rooms were well furnished and clean, ensuite was of high standard.
- Pat M. (8/5): Happy Tourist - Rooms were clean, comfortable and hotel was close to transportation. Very easy access to Oktoberfest.
- Si Lai (4/5): Only good for business trip - The room was a bit old and some of the facilities were broken. The door to the balcony was broken in our room. It's a so-so hotel in general. However, the Italian restaurant of the hotel did surprise me with fine dining.
- scott (8/5): Leonardo for Oktoberfest - We stayed at the Leonardo for Oktoberfest. The staff were very friendly and festive and the hotel was only 3 train stops from the event although this still proved difficult to remember on the way back. The staff did provide wrist bands with the hotel address so if you did get lost you could show this to a taxi driver to get you home safely. These came into use frequently.Breakfast menu was very good with a range of cold meats, cheeses, breads, scrambled eggs bacon and jugs of delicious coffee. We had three of us to a room with three single beds which didn't leave much floor space left. There didn't appear to be much else in the neighbourhood although it is as only 50m from the metro station and not to far to the central station.
- Harry (8/5): Good 2 day stay - The hotel is far from the nightlife in Munich which we enjoyed since that wasn't our reason for visiting. The good thing is you can take the subway which is at the corner of the hotel and it will take you all through the city. There are a few places to eat within walking distance. To our surprise there is no air conditioning in the room which was fine since it was cold but had it been hot outside, we would have been upset. The room was comfy and the patio area was great. I'd recommend this hotel to anyone as long as the weather is cold.
- Colin (8/5): Leonardo Hotel (West) - Munich City - Mid week stay in Munich for Octoberfest - Great Location and easy for city centre - Staff are all helpful & friendly.
- Jacqueline (6/5): Lovely area but... - Rooms over the front are far too hot and road too loud to have windows open at night. We complained on the third day expecting a fan or an air con. The receptionist looked like he was going to cry when we he said cooler rooms (superior rooms) were another 30 euros per night (already paid quite a lot to go during Oktoberfest). No fan or air con available. Another horrible night and an email saying how shocking this was and they moved us for the last 3 nights to a much more cooler room at no extra cost. If they'd've just had a fan or air con it would be 4- star review, hotel is clean, staff professional, area is pretty perfect. Such a shame. If you want to book for the area phone them up and ask them if they've got a fan or air con first. Do not book without this.
- Abhishek (10/5): Awesome experience! - Everything from check-in to check-out was awesome and I was even upgraded to a villa!
- Frank (10/5): Great hotel, very near to subway. - Really enjoyed our stay. Although we had never stayed at a Leonardo property previously (we visit Munich at least every two years, we were very satisfied wit our stay at this location.
- Donald (8/5): Great Hotel - We have stayed in this property on a previous trip to Munich. The room was clean and quiet. Ours faced the back of the hotel and had a small patio. The location was ideal for us, as we do not like to stay in the center of the city. It was a short U-Bahn trip to the city center (5 stops). I would recommend this hotel if you wish to stay in a local area of Munich.
- Paul (10/5): Nice Place - Nice little hotel. Great outdoor area for eating. Wonderful breakfast. For the price can't beat it. Just take the train to city center.
- nick - nz (6/5): Average hotel - you can do better - stayed 4 nights . The staff were nice - but very stressed (possibly understaffed) ... Wifi connection was hopeless. Hotel is dated but clean. Location is pretty good close to metro. Unless it's a cheap rate - look elsewhere !
- Dmitry (4/5): Location is its only advantage - From this hotel it is easy to get to the old town, which is the major tourist attraction. The room is pretty clean. However, what they call a fouble is actually two twin beds put together. The wifi is terrible - works with a code per device per session. Stone age system! And when you need a new code, the receptionist gives it with a sigh of discontentment, which brings us to another problem of this hotel- staff. Apart from one pleasant lady, everybofy was rather unfriendly and somewhat hostile. The gym is awful, they call the two machines (neither of them a treadmill) they have a fitness room.
- Stephen (10/5): - Extremely well kept hotel and feels very upmarket. Secure underground parking was available at a surcharge but well worth it.
Hotel was very comfortable but it was extremely hot when we stayed and the room did get warm.
Each room has its own little kitchen which is fantastic but not used on our stay.
I would highly recommend a little Bavarian restaurant just down the road. A lovely outside area. Just turn right out the hotel and on the junction of the second set of lights on the left.
- Robert (8/5): Nice hotel close to public transportation - The hotel is half a block from the subway which makes it easy to get around. Arriving at the hotel by car can be tricky due to a freeway tunnel running underneath the surface street. That confused my GPS system.
Although breakfast was not included there was a nice bakery next to the subway station.
Getting to old town was very easy and did not require any transfers. I think it is 3-4 stops to Marienplatz from the hotel.
- Garry (8/5): unbelievable service from Lesya - Great hotel in great location just out of city. Best service ever experienced from Lesya who should be receptionist of the year, thanks again champion Lesya!
- Simon (10/5): Southside close to U-Bahn - Needed a reasonably priced hotel close the the Stemmerhof. This fit the bill very nicely with a pleasant 15 minute walk through a largely residential area. Location is very close to the U-Bahn. Local amenities appear to be neighborhood restaurants and a supermarket with separate bakery.
- James (8/5): Lazy Staff - Hotel staff in the evenings leaves a lot to be desired. Wanted ice for our room when we arrived in early afternoon and desk person accommodated us right away by going to the restaurant part of the hotel and getting it from ice machine.
Next evening different evening desk person did not want to be bothered. Stated that there was no ice available. After a short exchange of words she finally got off her rear and went to the restaurant. I followed and watched as she opened the machine and put 3 ice cubes in each glass. I asked for her to fill up the glasses and she replied that is all there is. I could see the ice in the machine. I advised the daytime staff of this person being a poor representative of the hotel. They were pretty indifferent to the complaint.
The room was large enough and in a good location for use of the subways.
- Verified traveler (8/5): good value of small hotel - The performance of the hotel is good overall. It is funny to place a fitness room in the basement with no Window though, not very enticing. And the bed is a standard single which only fit a size 14 or below. I enjoy the breakfast n the balcony of the hotel alot. And the location of the hotel is fantastic! It is just a min away from the nearby train station and it is just 10 mins train ride distance from marienplatz, the city center.
- Mohammadbagher (8/5): Great Hotel - It was a very nice hotel. The staff were very friendly. The only problem was parking was not included and it was expensive.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - All good....very clean rooms. Good location as it's just a couple of stops to centre of Munich.
- Juergen (8/5): Room not kept on late arrival dispite of call - I booked the hotel weeks before out arrival. I informed the hotel by phone that we will be arriving late (after 2300 hours) due to a dinner and asked them to keep the room. I was confirmed that all would be OK and no problem at all. When we finally arrived our room as given away and we had to be relocated to another hotel while all our colleagues remained in the initally booked hotel. OK we were given the transportation there and back as we had a second night and we could then check in the day after in the hotel we booked. Just very annoying especially as I phoned and I was told that it is no problem at all. So hopefully, this won't happen anymore in the future with this hotel.
- Nigel (10/5): Long week end in Munich - Hotel is just a 10min tube ride from the center, tube station 2mins from hotel.Very nice clean and reasonable.Plenty of hot water and room's lovely and warm as it was just 1/2 degrees out side.
