- brett (3/5): Whipped cream on a pile of Crap. - Well the view from the Trevi Fountain Room is incredible. Thats where it ends. Toilets dont flush properly, we had to keep filling the buckets to make it actually flush the toilet paper and others. Room is just basic, beatdown and super old as well as the Hotel itself. Toilet kept leaking from the seal or something. Downside of being so close to the Trevi is the 24/7 noise from people there. Its crazy and non stop never ending at least in May. Way overpriced. 550 or so a night is robbery for these conditions. We will never stay there again. The breakfast is absolutely trash. Again the view is incredible I just expected wayyyyyy more. Maybe its my bad.
- Kelly (1/5): We were told we had to pay the tax in cash and could not charge it. They told us this as we were leaving at 5:30 am and - Nothing The rude staff
Sehr altes bad!

Personale alla reception molto gentile e cordiale.

- Phil (9/5): Our stay at the hotel was delightful - Breakfast great! Staff friendly and the location second to none - the Trevi Fountain! The crowds at and the noise from the fountain could be a little overwhelming
- Uhríkova (6/5): Hotel je starsi, velmi male izby a kupelna ranajky boli vyborne nic nam nechybali… vyborna lokalita. - Lokalita uplne top
- Gurkan (4/5): - The voice isolation of windows were bad. To sleep you need earplugs.
The toilet was very small. It was hard to move inside.
The breakfast was served with plastic plates which creates too much waist.

- Elmer (1/5): Unhappy with value and comfort - The only good thing about this property was the view. You are basically paying for the view. The bad thing about this hotel is that the place is run down. The beds are hard and old, the bathroom is old, the furniture inside is old, everything about the hotel is old. If you have a Fontana view room you will not be able to sleep at night due to the 24 hours visitors taking pictures and taking and laughing all night, you will also hear the trash truck and sweepers all night. You basically will not have a good night rest. I will reconsidered booking this hotel again. I don not recommend this highly priced rundown hotel to anyone. The only good thing is the view from the room if you have a front room in the hotel, the breakfast buffet is not the best choice. I think you can get better food for less money outside the hotel.

- mark (8/5): A delightfull, quaint place to return to after the end of along day of sightseeing - Quaint ecletic rooms with charm. Bathrooms with good shower pressure .Roof top (enclosed) lounge with delicious European breakfast items. Some rooms faced the Trevi fountain!! Great photo ops and people watching. It is close To several excellent restaurants and gellato/ pastrie shops Could not get wi fi to stay onfor only a second. Some toilets took up to 4 attempts before
The water pressure built up enough to complete the task.
Bars of soap are too small.
- Christina (9/5): Once in a lifetime stay - Beautiful historic property with a once in a lifetime view

- Arnel (10/5): Very good located room with beautiful view. Best location to be. - View is top. See pic for room view There is nothing to say. All was fine.
- Lindsay (10/5): - View from the rooftop bar is amazing. Brilliant location. Breakfast was good and the staff were friendly and helpful.
- Kevin (7/5): Enjoyable and comfortable - Location and friendly Staff I got a room with very little light but they changed for me

- Elizabeth (9/5): Our trip to Rome. - So central for everything.
Very clean and comfortable. Plenty of choice for breakfast and friendly staff. A hotel with soul, which was exactly what we wanted. It obviously was noisy as right next to the Trevi Fountain, not a dislike for us but a point to note for others

- M548JOkatherinet (2/5): Poor Service - We stayed here in March 2025 and had an amazing experience—friendly staff, early check-in at no extra cost, and a very comfortable room. Because of that, we were excited to return in March 2026.
Unfortunately, our second stay was completely different. After a difficult travel day, my daughter was feeling quite ill when we arrived. I politely asked the front desk if early check-in was possible—even offering to pay a fee—but the gentleman at reception responded very rudely, raising his voice and insisting that check-in before 2pm was absolutely not possible.
We tried to wait quietly in the lobby, but were told to leave and sit in the rooftop restaurant instead. Eventually, we found a hallway bench where my daughter could lie down out of the way while we waited.
When we were finally checked in, we were given Room 207, which was extremely small and not suitable for our needs. I use a walker, and there was barely enough space for both of us and the walker—we had to store it in the bathroom and move it each time we needed to use the facilities.
To make matters worse, I later observed the same staff member being rude to another guest during check-in.
This was a very disappointing experience, especially compared to our previous stay. Because of this, we have already chosen a different hotel for our next visit to Rome. It’s unfortunate, as we truly loved this hotel the first time around.

- Martha (3/5): Restaurant girls..were the best of the best - Locations near to walk I don’t recommend this hotel to small …
The best was the two girls help us for breakfast every morning..
the reception looks a garage sale
I traveled with a great mother and no one taxi can drive there..
absolutely don’t booking again there

- andrewlB1873MO (6/5): Central, basic, clean but loud. - Just returned from a 4 night stay at the Hotel Fontana.
We arrived before check-in time but were allowed to leave our bags which were taken up to our room which was a nice touch as the hotel lift is tiny and navigating the stairs with suitcases would have been tricky after travelling.
Once we got into our room we found it quite small, basic and pretty dated. But it was clean and had a private bathroom which for us was the most important aspect of booking any hotel.
The plug sockets were all an old style 3-prong type and we found it difficult to find a socket that would accept our 2 prong adapters. The TV was small and the remote had no back (batteries exposed). The flush on the toilet plainly didn’t work.. you had to press the button 4 or 5 times before any water came out.
Our main issue was the noise, which wasn’t the fault of the hotel, Rome is an especially noisy city anywhere but at the fountain there is an almost constant noise which even having the window closed on a night was inescapable. Along with also being able to hear everything from next doors bathroom, I mean everything.
The bed was clean, fresh towels daily and the bathroom was also cleaned every day. The breakfast room was top notch, the ladies working up there are fantastic.
With this hotel I feel you are there for a reason, the fountain which is amazing and you don’t get a better location or view than one from this hotel. I’d recommend this hotel if you’re a first time traveller to Rome as the location is superb, but remember your ear plugs and bring good shoes.
- Victoria (10/5): Amazing location with memorable staff. - The location of the property was very convenient to all major sites in the area and was super walkable.
The staff were phenomenal, going the extra mile to make our stay memorable. The location meant that while you can see the trevi fountain, it can become quite noisy when trying to sleep.
- Liwia (10/5): -
- Alice (7/5): Beautiful and lovely in the day. Not possible to sleep at night. - I loved the staff the most. So helpful and happy to help. Really welcoming and friendly. Was able to assist with all our queries and requests. I also loved the hotel aesthetic. It was quaint and charming and well decorated. It used its small spaces well. The shower was a good pressure and heat as well which I care about. Thank you very much. The only thing I didn't like was how the windows weren't more sound proof. Due to the location I would have expected double glazed windows to lock out the noise from outside more. Because of the beautiful location, unfortunately the crowds are so loud, specially when you want to sleep at night and there was builders drilling and doing construction work from 11pm until past 2am so I didn't sleep at all.
- Yanina celeste (10/5): -
- Amelia (6/5): Very pleasant stay, staff were super friendly and helpful, bedroom was a comfortable size. Perfect location. Extremely t - We loved the view, we paid extra for the Trevi Fountain view and it was more than worth it! The bed was big and very comfortable. We were a little bit disappointed by the bathroom. It was absolutely tiny and i understand that I’m paying for the view in a hotel like this (which again was completely worth it!) but the bathroom was a bit of a let down. Handheld shower which is okay no problem if it was a bit bath but it was also a tiny bath so you had to stand awkwardly. The bathroom was also so small that after getting out of the shower/bath you could not open the door if the bath mat with down. My partner got her finger trapped between the door and the sink as there was literally the tiniest gap between the door and the sink. That is completely her fault though and was funny at the time, just an example.
Super sorry for the ramble, we had no other obvious issues or anything that I can think of!!
- Michal (10/5): Rewelacja - Widok śniadanie atmosfera
- O2533NJpaulp (2/5): Avoid - We checked in late on March 3rd and were allocated room 104 which was not featured on the hotel website.
It was tiny. The double bed just about fitted into the room and there was only access from one side. The bathroom was less than 2m by 2m and you had to be a contortionist to sit on the toilet without hitting the small sink in front. The shower was the size of a small tray with a curtain on two sides. Once you were wet, there was no escaping having the curtain sticking to you!
The AC didn’t work and the window opened onto the garden patio meaning that we could not leave the window open.
The electrics were dangerous – unsheathed wires - and would fail inspection in the UK.
After looking at the fire plan, we realised that we had been given the smallest room on the floor; on the plus side the staff were able to change our room a day later.
In the new room (101) the electrics were again substandard with a dangerous socket and the hairdryer cut out at certain angles when plugged into a different socket.
Again, the AC didn’t work and being nearer to the Trevi Fountain, the noise outside was continual. Additionally, we couldn’t escape the noise from the 4am rubbish collection.
Breakfast average
- Keith (4/5): - Location!
The only thing I truly liked was the view of the Trevi Fountain — but that’s exactly what you’re paying a high price for. The front desk staff on the morning of March 15, 2026 was rude, unprofessional, and lacked basic customer service skills. We checked out early and informed them we would store our luggage, yet I received multiple calls in a very disrespectful tone about unpaid taxes that were never mentioned at checkout.
When we returned to pay, Mr. Angelo (if I recall correctly) was dismissive and insisted on cash payment.
For a hotel that charges premium rates for its Fontana view, his service was extremely disappointing and unacceptable.
The property itself also needs attention — it feels outdated and poorly maintained. The floors, bathrooms, and room furniture are clearly deteriorating.
- Samantha (10/5): Outstanding location - Location was outstanding, paid for the room with a view of the fountain and it was beautiful.
Staff were very friendly, especially MARIA in the bar/breakfast, her welcome was enthusiastic made you feel like family🫂 so happy everytime we saw her. Hotel rated a 3* but I would give it 4* for staff and location plus verity of breakfast. No light bulb where you do makeup or iron but I'm sure if I asked they would have assisted. Only there for 2 nights.
- Ana Carolina (10/5): Faz o coração suspirar de alegria e realização. Amei - Amei tudo. Perfeita. Tudo perfeito.
- tracy (9/5): Very enjoyable - Location was great and breakfast was also great Hotel bathrooms need an upgrade, showers installed and wider bath
- Ruth (10/5): - The view from the Bar/ breakfast room.
- Emma123Dubai (2/5): Terrible. Avoid at all costs. - The manager is the rudest man I have ever met. He shouted at us & was extremely confrontational.
The place is run down & dirty.
- mattpD3836HB (2/5): Do not stay here - Terrible place, horrible staff and very dirty do not stay here!
- Charmaine (9/5): Excellent - It is right in front of Trevi Fountain and it is easily accessible to restaurants, public transportation and other tourists attractions. The staffs were also accommodating and friendly. The building is a bit old and dark in the hallways.
- Robert (10/5): - Walking location to all tourist sites, including shopping and food venues. Huge crowds in front of Trevi Fountain.
Mi habitación olía a humedad.
- Andreas (8/5): - Ideal location, great personnel, amazing views, adequate breakfast Cleaning was not at its best.
- Helen (3/5): Fountain views but at a cost (noise) - The rooftop bar provided a lovely avenue for viewing the fountain away from the crowds. The drinks were delicious and the breakfast was superior.
The accessibility to the fountain, predominantly early morning, was the main bonus of this hotel. I didn’t like the constant yelling from fountain viewers well into the night/early morning hours. I also found the room I was in backed up to an alley and the garbage pick up at 3 am made it incredibly difficult to get decent rest.
Between the people yelling at the fountain until 2-4 am and the garbage noise, I was highly displeased with the stay.
- Paul (9/5): - Lovely old hotel right in the center of Rome
Lovely friendly staff
Breakfast while looking at the Trevi fountain Our bathroom was too small

ladies at the reception and breakfast were all nice and always cheerful.
housekeeping staff.
Decent TV.
Air conditioning.
room safe box.
mini fridge. bathroom smells like sewer and could hear sounds when someone uses toilet on adjacent bathroom. I won’t be returning because of these alone.
Creaky floors.
yes it’s a former centuries old convent, but that’s not an excuse to improve.
I’m scared of their elevator (lift) than their stairs!!
- Inese747 (8/5): Breakfast with a view of the fountain? Please! - Right across from the famous Trevi Fountain! An old house that welcomed us warmly and had a lot to tell us. Perfect location and very fitting for old Rome.
