- Lara (2/5): Hotel mit viel ungenutzten Kapital - Die Cocktails mit echten Spirituosen, z.B Aperol, Malibu etc. Der Kinderclub und die Cabanas am Strand. Kostenlose Parkgarage.
Also alles unlogisch und umständlich organisiert.

- Tsen (5/5): - Vista do quarto Wifi e pessima e o atendimento nao e muito bom tambem
- Kerrie (3/5): - The Beach is nice, they have lots of cabana beds which is great. And they do keep the place clean. No entertainment, no uplifting fun Caribbean music just the same music playing on a 24-7 loop. some staff very friendly but most not, they are not helpful and will not go above and beyond to help you with anything. Be careful what you eat, my husband got violently ill along with others who were there at the same time as us. I find you pay a lot of money for very little its just a small boring hotel on a nice beach.

- valentina (10/5): -
- Kristina (9/5): - Very Nice staff! We stayed in the hotel for 2 weeks and we enjoyed it! We missed see food
- Lamberdina (7/5): Wish I could breath in the lobby and main area bar - That it is small not over crowded The lobby has enough perfume to kill you. I guess they haven’t heard of fragrance free, I couldn’t breath and gives me a severe headache. Not sure what you are trying to hide using such amount……. Food choices very limited, 1 sit down dining room and then the buffet.

- DARWIN (9/5): - It was clean and the staff was awesome! The waiters were so kind and always smiling! The grounds were well kept! Food was good but not enough variety. The pools were cold!
- Louise (8/5): - We loved the view and the room was very nice. We were confirmed for a 2 bed room and received a king bed. When asked reception about this, they would not change our room. They said they keep those rooms for a 3 person occupancy. 🙄
- MARTIN (7/5): - Boutique style hotel Fighting for cabanas in morning

- iv466 (10/5): Highly recommend - We had a great time at Flamingo, Cancun. I am glad I did not read these reviews before going. Some of the very negative reviews have no ground. Not sure what people were looking for and why they went there. This is one of the last reasonable priced locations in what I see over-expensive Cancun strip these days (for sure was not the case 5 years ago).
This hotel is a small tropical island in the vast sea of intimidating concrete in Cancun hotel zone. The hotel is small, old, and as such, the rooms are ok - dated. But also, it has only five stories for what I assume is the “newer” part, where the older, probably original hotel from early Cancun days, has just 3-4 stories with a nice architecture representing ancient Mayan temple. It is right on the beach separated by a small palm trees “forest”. Everything is within reach: the beach, the rooms, the inner pool, the outer pool, the buffet, the pizza bar next to the outer pool. It offers this great terrasse that is on the second floor when looking from the beach. The hotel has some 80 cabanas throughout the property. We spent the time on the cabanas by the pool. The hotel indeed has very few beach chairs, maybe 20 and similarly around the inner pool. The entire first floor looking at the sea has the rooms open to their own pool or the terrasse with their own beach beds and their own shade. If you are with small children, they have this cute kid’s area. Again, all in the same place. You can spent time on the cabana above the kid’s club and keep an eye on your little one.
The beach is amazing, fine sand, wide clean from rocks beach. The water was very clean, no rocks in the water either. The beach seems to have been awarded Blue Flag.
The workers kept cleaning the hotel all the time. There is this snack/burger part with few tables. Every morning the area was soap washed. They constantly wash and paint. On the time of departure, as our flight was late I saw our room, the floor being washed with soap. Checkout is at noon. They allowed us to keep our bracelets till 4pm, so we could eat without any problem.
The food question. This is a small hotel, so the buffet is small and this means smaller food tables, less offerings. But there is enough food: salads, fruits and the main dishes. There offer two soups and plenty of desserts. The main dishes have some variety as every day there is a different theme. There were some pork skewers one day, fried rice with chicken another day. I think there is sufficient food without the four kinds of pastas, four kind of pizzas and no, there is no Sushi bar.. Again, small place. Thy do have fish and for the seafood lovers they have mussels and shrimps. Now, the a-la-cart restaurant, Albatross.. the food in this placer was absolutely amazing. They offer a lunch menu and a diner menu. They also have buffet for breakfast. The chef deserves applause as everything we tried was absolutely delicious: seafood soup, squid tentacles, steak, burger, etc.. We ate mostly at this place. Few times we had to wait a bit, but it is all worth it. It has this small terrace with own shade and also under the palm trees and right at the beach facing the sea. Well done, Flamingo. On top, during our one week stay, they once offered delicious paella by the pool, and another time, a salad bar: guacamole, shrimps and mussels. They offer burgers by the pool, small sitting area in the afternoon. And there is the pizza on the terrasse of the outer pool. In the evening, the pool bar offers tacos. You can eat from 7 a.m. in the morning till 11 p.m. Also, in the restaurants you can order cappuccino, what was also nice touch.
The rooms have mini fridge with two cans of beer, three pops and two water bottles that they restock every day. On every floor there is water station and ice machine.
Small hotel, no entertainment team. But we did have a Mexican night and another time a Mayan show. And one night they had Casino with funny money.
Location is great. We walked one way ten minutes to La Isla mall. We purchased combo ticket: aquarium + Cancun wheel for 25 $USD. We also walked the other way, 2 km, to Coco Bongo area with some shops and souvenirs and large groceries store. Airport transfer took us less then 20 min with no stops.
We have been to over 20 similar resorts in the past 25 years and this is towards to top in our own experience for relaxation and conditions. This place is perfect for 2-3 families. If you are looking for luxury and party, the hotel is not it. For those who decide to book the hotel, do pay the extra money and get an ocean view room.
To the hotel management:
- The beds have four pillows, but they are all very thick. Consider providing two thinner pillows for better comfort
- The WiFI not being everywhere is not normal for the time we live in
- And those rooms towards the main road, you should try replacing the windows. Not sure how the other hotels deal with the noise from the street, but newer windows should help. Too many motorcycles, old tracks and busses and driving higher than allowed speed.
- jessbZ5091HX (8/5): First time in Mexico - We stayed at the Flamingo Hotel and, honestly, we were a bit nervous going in after reading the reviews (you know… the good, the bad, and the dramatic 😅).
But we absolutely loved it.
The service was amazing. The staff works incredibly hard—always cleaning, always smiling, always moving. Our room was spotless, and our fridge was never without beer and water.
The location is great. We could walk everywhere, the mall is about a 10-minute walk, and there’s a bus stop right in front of the hotel. The only downside is that it’s on the main drag, so at night you might hear traffic or the occasional Fast & Furious moment—but honestly, that’s city life.
The food was great. We rotated between the buffet, à la carte options, and the amazing homemade pizza (which deserves its own shoutout 🍕).
We did have a small booking mix-up and were given the wrong room at first. When we went to the front desk to ask if a room change was possible (for another reason), they immediately caught the mistake and upgraded us to an ocean-view room. Moral of the story: be nice—it really does go a long way.
This is not a 5-star resort—so don’t expect kisses on your feet or 12 restaurants. It’s a smaller resort, but they truly go above and beyond to make guests happy.
Beautiful beach, good food, Wi-Fi in the room without paying extra, and genuinely kind staff.
This was a great first experience for us. We’re super happy with our stay and our vacation.
Thank you, Flamingo team 🦩
From two happy Canadian travelers 🇨🇦
- Weldon (6/5): Would never stay there again because of the staff not knowing the English language or caring to even to communicate with - It was a nice hotel great location great views right on the beach The hotel did not have Internet in your room only in bars no one that worked there knew how to speak English, but they knew what a tip was, but never stay there again
- Leidy Milena (9/5): Fantastico!
- Norm (6/5): some things were excellent and some not so much. - excellent location...food was good....high level of cleanliness no wifi in room....no Ethernet or wifi to tv so all the apps did not work- ie Netflix prime etc.... beds were small and not comfortable
- Paradise31671071098 (2/5): Not good stay somewhere else - Location is great easy to get around bus in front of resort (12 pesos each way ) atmosphere is boring no entertainment staff no music only elevator music playing rooms are basic and out of date need upgrades value font waste your money stay somewhere else cleanliness is poor
Noise level is good has long you don’t have a room facing the street then very loud service there is no service to be had amenities no amenities to be had
- Eliana (5/5): Pasable.
- robpW149RI (4/5): Cold food , only 8 beach lounge chairs - Check in we were given a room for couples trip with 2 double beds and a noisy street view bring ear plugs if you want to get any sleep
The next day we upgraded to ocean front with swim out room of course for a cost
Beautiful room with king bed (room # 225 )
Pictures are view from room
Gorgeous beach BUT only 8 beach lounge chairs for those sun lovers
Gotta be up to reserve cabanas and lounge chairs by 7:30 AM

We spoke with a lot of people on the resort and food was everyone’s biggest complaint
Not all inclusive coffee shop charges for coffee and is expensive (star bucks )
No place to exchange money
Bartenders not very friendly with long wait times for drinks
No drink menus available
No pool or beach service
Bars close at 11

Watch out for time share people on the resort pestering
Save yourself a bad experience and go elsewhere
- davidbB5782FT (2/5): HORRIBLE - We travelled with another couple January 12-19/2026. We never do this, but need to warn people who are thinking about booking this resort. First our bus drops us off on the side of busy road because we find out it doesn’t fit up the narrow ramp, so here we are dragging our luggage up this steep ramp, with no help from any staff , in fact we had to help an elderly couple too! Get to front desk, our friends go to the bar to get us a beverage to find out the bars in the entire resort all close at 11pm!! Including any food( no late night food available) We immediately ask to see a manager, none on duty till morning they said. So we get our room that we upgraded prior to trip which was a deluxe walk out to pool, only to find we walked out to patio area, no water( pool) directly off our room as advertised, next our door lock sticks and doesn’t lock, shower spout spraying water everywhere, the patio doors don’t lock easily, you have to constantly jiggle the handle to get it to lock, the handles on our bathroom door just fall off and finally the ultimate….by Wednesday a leak from the ceiling is constantly dripping over the toilet seat. So we got there Monday night , Tuesday went to desk to complain to manager to come across an individual claiming to be assistant manager with “attitude “ tells us we cannot change rooms because they were booked and if we wanted we would have to downgrade our room! Took them till Wednesday to fix lock door issue (3 attempts) , we didn’t even bother with the leaky ceiling because we were so upset with the horrible service. Now our friends room (standard room) that faces major roadway super loud from vehicles and motorcycles. Now the pools, 2 only, one with NO loungers the other with maybe 9 or 10 ! Now the beach, the beach itself was beautiful, but once again NO Loungers! Just cabanas! what resort has little to no loungers for pools and beach that’s why we’re there!!! Once again address management, just to get run around , attitude and no results!!! No background music and no entertainment also! No money exchange at front desk either. Food was good, that’s it. Very disceiving advertising and pictures on their site that clearly show loungers and tiki huts that don’t exist. Overall horrible experience.
- lilypF3579DC (8/5): Hard working staff - I have mixed feelings about this resort. There are definitely pros & cons.
PROS
Beautiful white sand.
Friendly staff
Great service
Very clean
Beach beds are very comfortable
Pool chairs are great
Clean beach towels always available
CONS
Food is very repetitive
There are no beach lounge chairs at beach
No entertainment
Hotel is lacking sitting areas
Front lobby had a very pungent floral fragrance that is unbearable
Beach area is beautiful but street area surrounding hotel is run down and sketchy
11 PM it’s lights out at the resort.. no food or beverages available.
No sunwing/WestJet rep anywhere to be found?
If you have really high standards, this is definitely not the place for you, however if you’re looking for a cost efficient / clean / quiet resort, this is the place for you!
- francisco (10/5): - room ,close to beach everyting fine
- Yana (8/5): Very good vacation! Love it! - Very good location, nice and clean property! Friendly personal. Very cold in restaurants. Too much personal in hotel during the day , they always in elevators, on stairs, etc. I would like to see them less during the day.
- Craig (6/5): - The buffet was great! All employees were very friendly, except for 2. The beach was ok, but I didn't spend time on it. The hotel pizza was awesome. The pool was clean and beautiful, the outdoor bar served food as well, but I never ate there. The bedroom two free cans of beer a day for the room, as well as two free bottles of water. The bathtub had rust stains in it, hot water was instant, impressive. There was a refrigerator in the room but no microwave. There was a generic coffee maker and coffee, which my wife said was nasty. I didn't get sick from the water. The hotel does purify their water so you can drink it, the ice as well. There were live shows provided, I only saw the Mariachi band, they did a great job. It is right across the street from the CDS dentist. The room was not awesome; there was only 1 outlet to plug in devices. There was a clock on the nightstand, but you could not plug it in because the only plug available was on the opposite wall by the TV. I asked the front desk for an extension coed to plug in my CPAP machine, they said "OK and they would send it up to me right away, it never came." It rained and water came into the room from the patio; it came in 2 meters. We told the front desk, they said they would take care of it, an hour later they had not taken care of it. I had to show a maintenance guy the problem; they got on the radio and then got right to squidging and got the water out. Again, the front desk was useless, they couldn't take care of anything. The mattresses were mid-range, nothing special. The AC was set to its coldest, but just barely kept the room cool, I bought a fan from Walmart and the doorman laughed when I carried it in. I think the bed sheets were made of polyester because at nigh I would freeze and sweat at the same time. The internet, I could never get my iPad to connect, my phone would only connect sometimes, and the TV lagged a lot. If I could compare the room, I would say it is like staying at a Motel 6. Also, one of the elevators seem to breakdown a lot.
- Javier Enrique (6/5): The swimming pools, beachfront location, and buffet were great, but hidden fees at check-in and over - The swimming pools, the beachfront location, and the buffet. What I liked the least is a fee they charge upon arrival at the hotel. First, because they don’t tell you about it when you make the reservation, and second, because when you arrive you can only pay it with a card, not cash. Another thing is that even though the reservation says it includes airport taxi service, if you arrive by land at the ADO bus station, they won’t pick you up—you have to get there on your own. And when it’s time to leave, the hotel charges 650 pesos to arrange a taxi to downtown Cancun and drop you off at the ADO station, but if you go outside to the taxi stand, they’ll take you for 350 pesos. It gives the impression they want to overcharge you by 300 pesos
Atendimento no geral .
- Viviana (8/5): -
- David (9/5): Good but could’ve been better - Pool, beach access, room service, food Door was loose, bathtub dirty, ac in the room was to hot
- Sergii (3/5): -
- Christian (6/5): It was okay. - Simple. Nice area of beach in front of hotel. Clean rooms. Some of the staff were nice. Food was basic. No mexican food/tacos. Needed more seafood. WiFi didn’t work most of the time. Some of the staff were not friendly and barely attentive. I only tipped the good staff.
- Ruiz (10/5): Excellent - Everything was amazing. The beach view, the semi-private pool, and the staff were incredible and did everything to make us feel special. We were celebrating our friend’s bachelorette party, and we truly couldn’t have chosen a better place to stay.
Breakfast was delicious. Special thanks to the receptionist and our mayordomo, José both were so kind and attentive. Also, Cochary, the waitress at the buffet, was incredibly sweet and welcoming.

- nokids2016 (4/5): Bring a chair and earplugs - The facilities and the food are a standard three star hotel. As with most hotels in Mexico, the staff makes it better. There are not nearly enough chairs for the amount of people at the resort and there are no loungers at all on the beach. This is very strange as all the people just lay on their towels in the sand. All the rooms on the road side are extremely loud all night long as the road is very busy and they’re on a lot of loud motorcycles. During our week stay we heard nonstop complaints from all the other guests. I would not let her on this hotel unless it was extremely cheap.
- Elfriede (10/5): We had a wonderful time. Can recommend it to anyone - Beautiful beach location
- Mark (10/5): - Everything great, it was well organized, the staff were very polite well trained, the food selection was great, no line up for dinner or long waits, Great place will recommend in the future

- Roving14313039470 (4/5): Bad very bad - Hotel & Rooms:
The hotel looks nice, rooms are clean, and the beach location is good. From the outside, it feels like it could be a decent resort.
Staff:
Unfortunately, the staff were not professional and showed very poor understanding of guest service. Communication and problem-solving were extremely weak.
Food (Very Bad):
This is where the hotel completely fails.
The food is disgusting, low quality, and poorly prepared. This is by far the worst all-inclusive food I have ever experienced.
All-Inclusive? Not Really:
• Everything shuts down at 11:00 PM
• After 11 PM they turn off the lights
• No food, no service, nothing available
• When we got hungry, we had to order Uber Eats
• We ended up eating outside the hotel most of the time because the food inside was not edible
I have never seen such a poor all-inclusive hotel. An all-inclusive resort should provide food and service late, especially for paying guests.
- Jamaria (10/5): The best family-friendly hotel!!! - This hotel is amazing. I was traveling with my 11-year old autistic son and we had a blast. It's very family friendly. Food was wonderful. Staff was super friendly too. Our bedroom had a stunning ocean view. I absolutely loved their hours of operation for breakfast (until 11:30 am), lunch (until 5:30 pm), and dinner (until 11:30 pm), so this is the all-inclusive I'm talking about. We could wake up late, still have great breakfast, eat in the middle of the afternoon, and have dinner after 8 pm. We only ate at the La Fuente restaurant next to the reception. I also used their room service to order snacks and it was great too. Their snack bars are awesome and drinks are great. They try to make whatever drink you ask. The beach was great too. Super clean sand, warm water (even for December), and beautiful view. We also had a chance to walk around to other attractions. Great location! This was my third time in Cancun and now this is my favorite hotel!!! This place would be perfect if at least the pool in the beachfront was heated. I traveled in December when is not super hot there, so the water in the pool was cold. Still okay around noon and early afternoon.
- Hao (10/5): Nice stay. Good value for the price. - Wonderful location, wonderful beach. The meals are fine. There was repair work in other rooms, which caused noise during the daytime. The room facing the road was noisy at night.
Fatal
- marcos roberto (9/5): -
- Y794RHjenniferl (6/5): Flamingo Cancun - Smokers - note the property is 100% smoke-free - not something advertised anywhere. You will be fined $250USD if caught (notified upon check in). You will need to go out onto the sidewalk / street in front of the hotel to have a cigarette. No designated smoking areas within the resort at all.
That being said: the resort was small, clean and safe. The staff are absolutely wonderful! Very friendly and welcoming. Our room was in an incredible location (basic hotel room, nothing spectacular) but the private loungers overlooking the small pool, with the Caribbean Sea as the backdrop? Stunning.
The food was good - always something to eat but there were not a lot of choices. (Again, think small resort: one main buffet, one beachfront restaurant that offered a smaller breakfast buffet then table service for lunch and supper, wood fired pizza at Don Roberto’s (that you are not allowed to take out of their small dining area) and a snack bar (cheeseburgers, fries, hot dogs and nachos).
If you are looking for a beautiful beach? Yes. The beach at the resort itself is not very big, but we were able to enjoy walks up and down in front of neighbouring resorts without issue.
We went for a week of rest and relaxation which is exactly what we got.

- weipeng (8/5): -
- Mithun (5/5): Mostly it’s was good . But I could do some work on improving - Location. Value for money. Food.
- Diane (2/5): Run a far as you can away from this hotel. - The beach was excellent. Very clean and nice. The massages were fantastic. The ladies were great. There were a handful of pleasant staff who seemed to care. Where do I start.
When we first arrived, we were greeted by a salesperson wanting us to sign up for their Vacation Club. We weren’t even checked in yet. They pretended to show us the food locations in order to get us to sign up for their presentation. We had to insist on leaving because we were hungry.
The WiFi is non existent unless you are on top of the lobby. And they were no help in trying to get it working.
The property is old and run down. They try to “show” it isn’t with the lobby area but our room was dirty, had so many issues (shower didn’t work [water came out of the spout and flooded the bathroom], no hot water when we arrived, cracked mirror, safe didn’t work, fridge wasn’t stocked and actually had a 1/2 used Sprite sitting in it.) It was clear the room had not been cleaned. Sheets were dingy and scratchy. Sliding door didn’t lock and had to be “rigged” to lock. There was some kind of dirt on the inside of the closet door that got our clothes all dirty.
We booked and paid for an ocean front room. They gave us a partial view. And when I asked to be moved, due to all the issues, they gave some excuse about having to wait til tomorrow. We would have to “check out” at 10, hang around with our luggage, and then maybe move to a new room after 3 pm. It was clear that they treated their guest who booked online and were from the US differently.
The food was meh. Their dining rooms are small and not to size for the amount of guest they have. There is a wait, unless you go off peak hours. Like at 3 pm in the afternoon for lunch. Sometimes the wait staff would wait on you and sometimes they would only accommodate those that spoke Spanish. There wasn’t a good variety of food. Things weren’t refilled (it’s a buffet). The pool side food could only accommodate 8 parties at a time in small booths. We were never able to get anything quick. They didn’t have snacks or a quick self serve area just to grab and go. Everything was a long wait.
- dreamseller (2/5): Definitely not as advertised - Besides a beautiful beach, and a good selection of alcohol.there was nothing about this resort that I could say anything good about. I was there over Christmas for one week. Starting with the overview of the hotel it states are six restaurants. There is one buffet, one main restaurant with very limited choices, a seating area around one of the small pools with about five tables that you must be sat at to be able to order. There is a pizza place that you will wait for a minimum of 90 minutes while they make you sit down and wait (if you’re even able to find an open table). Other than that, I don’t know where this six restaurants are coming from? There is a coffee shop that is not included that serve Starbucks coffee with Starbucks prices. Menu is limited. Considering being in Mexico couldn’t get anything mecican other than a fish taco at the main restaurant. Every guest that I met on the resort was so disappointed. You cannot smoke anywhere on hotel grounds and need to go out the hotel and down all the steps to the street to smoke. There was absolutely no entertainment other than one night they set up a few casino tables at the bar lounge for about two hours! I would’ve thought being Christmas time there would’ve been some kind of Christmas entertainment, but there was absolutely nothing. The morning of the first night in my room, I went in the bathroom and everything I had left on the vanity was soaking wet coming from water dripping from the pot light above. It took three phone calls to the front desk and 24 hours to get someone in there to service it. As far as finding a relaxing place to sit on the beach, you’ll need to just place a towel down on the sand somewhere as there are very few lounge beds and no lounge chairs unless you want to get up at 6 AM in the morning to put your towel out, you will not get to bed around the pool or beach. Forget about getting a drink after 11 PM. As the main lounge bar closes. Room service was a joke. Every time I tried to call when they heard me speak English they would hang up probably because they couldn’t understand or they just didn’t want to bother doing room service, which was a very limited menu hotdog hamburgers nachos, or french fries! I don’t understand all the positive reviews unless they’re able to pick and choose which ones go up there? I travel at least twice a year and this has got to be the worst experience! I was ready to go home on day two but unfortunately, six more days felt like six weeks.
