- oftheplanet (6/5): Just a short stay! - A short stay so can make it. An old hotel and the facility is out dated. The staff is good and the breakfast is sufficient to meet the brand standard. Nothing special and can have a short stay, if over 2 nights I may not take it.

- ahmed-na-lade (10/5): Good - The room interior needs some renovation, but it was a comfortable stay overall. The room is very spacious. The hotel kindly installed a mattress topper after my request. The breakfast was good and various and included Western cuisine. The was a problem with the room A/C. It didn't provide heat. I told the reception about that. They fixed it. But in a day the A/C ability to provide heat declined, though it still provided some heat.

- SPGPlatinChina (2/5): Chinese Restaurant Terrible Service - Ate here last week at the Chinese restaurant for lunch and enjoyed it. Bought via Dianping a 2 person set meal. So we decided to go back today but ran into horrible service. When we arrived at the door, no one was there so we waited. The hostess came out and I told her two people. Then other guests behind us cut line and told the hostess they wanted to come in so she showed them to a private room abandoning us. She didn't even come back to us and just had as wait. I then went to find her and told her she was rude. She said she wasn't because the other people has a reservation. But we lined up first. 4 times she defended herself. The manager came and apologized. She offered me some beer. I don't drink alcohol. That's it. I ended up eating there but they didn't give a discount or anything. She gave a can of coconut milk to my companion. Just horrible service and no service recovery. I don't think alcohol. Terrible. Won't go back again. I'm lifetime titanium

- jeremyl181 (10/5): An Impressive Suite Room at a Luxury Hotel - 10/25/2025 - The Renaissance Shanghai Pudong was open 23 years ago with 363 guestrooms. Each floor has only one suite room, which usually reserved for Marriott Elite members to redeem a "night suite upgrade certificate. I am impressed with its suite room and the CLUB LOUNGE on the 26th floor that opens from 11:00 AM to 10:00 PM daily with a lot of horsd'oeuvres in happy hour as well as afternoon tea from 2:30 PM to 4:30 PM. I must admit that the suite room here beats the suite room at the Sheraton Grand Seattle in the U.S. in comparison to the quality of furniture, bathroom, etc. - it also applied to the Club Lounge except the Sheraton Grand Seattle has a large 180-degree panoramic view most Club Lounge or M Club Lounge do not have or can't match. A one block walk will arrive at the Century Park, and a subway line 18 is only a 5-munite walk to/ from the hotel.

Hotel rooms were clean and spacious, with work space and desk. Bathrooms large with enough space, shower, and bath tub. Right next to the lilac centre where you can buy groceries, clothing and many food options including local and western food. Breakfast was fantastic. They have options for everyone fresh fruits, local specialities, a waffle bar, and traditional fry up breakfast options, plus an egg station. Afternoon tea was served in the lobby with a small variety of food to pick from all complimentary.

- Carlose (10/5): Amazing breakfast and spa! - The hotel offers an amazing variety of food for breakfast buffet and all very good and fresh. The spa and swimming pool are great! We had a very pleasant 2 days stay. Highly recommended!

- bachelor8 (10/5): Great club lounge - This hotel was next to Century Park and Pudong convention center. You can walk 10 minutes to two metro stations, so it is convenient to have access to Pudong airport and Hongqiao airport. Club lounge and breakfast in the restaurant was so great to provide a variety of local and western cuisines. Pool and gym were well-appointed.

- Ross (8/5): Very good - room and service (maid) good 1. I raised the issue. Maintanence came but did not solve the problem. The seal around the shower leaked adn would not hold door closed when moisture 2. Laundry - use less caustic wash powder. My washed pants gave me a rash after being cleaned

- steelriver2014 (10/5): Amazing experience - Pro. - warm welcome when arrived at the hotel - efficient and friendly front desk for check in process (received an upgrade unexpectedly) - stunning view from 23rd floor - spacious room with lovely bedding - shiny bath room - good equipped gym - breakfast was a highlight with plenty of choices
- Amir (1/5): It is not a Marriott service level - Nothing Middle of the night I woke up from a strong smell of cigarettes smoking through the AC, I had to change rooms, no one at hotel bothered to apologize or god forbidden to offer a compensation.
- Dean (3/5): Is this really a Renaissance Property? - An absolutely awful experience. The front desk could not find the reservation (very odd), then misquoted the price and then we later discovered the number of breakfasts was wrong (one half suspects management manufactured a reservation when confronted with evidence of a reservation). Inadequately staffed with obvious evidence of a lack of training. Despit a dedicated service phone line, NOBODY to answer phone at 06:00 (several minutes of unanswered ringing)???? Hotel decor shows signs of poor maintenance. Breakfast was somewhat average, coffee machines were chronically out of milk, and somewhat short staffed. Room was clean but showed signs of aging (dirty rug) and shower leaked. Amenities average quality.

- Amir25100 (2/5): Non smoking is actually Yes to smoking. - Walk up in the middle of the night from a very strong smell of cigarettes smoke that came through the HVAC system, I had to change rooms, hotel reception and management couldn't care less, I didn't even hear an apology or a suggestion for a compensation.
