The room was quite small but perfectly comfortable (amazing shower) and exactly as described on the website. There was some construction work going on but it did not disturb us at all and was kept very clean and tidy.

• 2011__John__2011 (10/5): Exceeding expectations - We had high expectations for this hotel accommodation based on earlier reviews. The hotel is situated in a relatively quiet street but with easy access (5minute walk) to a water bus stop and some more lively restaurants and wine bars. Special acknowledgement to VinoVero, Ristorante Levante and ristorante Ormiesin. The hotel also offered at own cost an evening tour of Venice by water taxi and a morning visit to Murano including one glass workshop. The accommodation was of the highest standard and what made the experience truly special was the welcoming staff on the front desk and breakfast room. The room itself 316 was on the first floor and had patio doors to an outdoor seating area. The spacious room had a comfortable double bed and the bathroom had a nice powerful ceiling shower. We were extremely happy with the quiet room. Our expectations were truly exceeded and our sincere thanks to the entire staff. We would not hesitate to return in the coming years.

• Melsgar (10/5): Italy - The hotel is in a great location; our room was larger than I expected. The staff was outstanding! My husband’s suitcase was lost for almost three days. The front desk staff went above and beyond to help us locate it ( making calls, etc. ). I would highly recommend this hotel when in Venice. Quiet neighborhood and easy access to water taxis. I would not recommend their free trip to Murano; it’s a sale’s pitch. However I would go to Murano on my own. It’s an easy ferry ride. And don’t do their private taxi ride on the Grand Canal. It’s 50Euros per person and it’s nothing special ( no narration). You can see the same thing riding on a water taxi to St. Mark’s Basilica. Definitely stay here!

• 695wendyc (10/5): A Wonderful Venice Hotel - The hotel itself was charming, well located in the Cannaregio area. The decor in the room and communal areas were perfect for a Venice stay. We stayed in Room 101: a lovely spacious room with plenty of storage for a 4 night stay. Bed quality OK. The room itself was quiet and the aircon good, so we slept well. We had a view over the canal and just outside our room was a little seating area with a small Juliet balcony. Breakfast was a basic continental buffet but all fresh and more than adequate to start the day. The bar was well stocked and there was a nice indoor area as well as a seating area outside by the canal. We took advantage of both for aperitivos and post dinner dinks. What made the stay so memorable was the fantastic hotel team - from arrival to departure, they were brilliant. We arrived quite a bit earlier than the 2pm check in time, and were delighted that our room was available. We had a lovely fruit basket and bottle of fizz as a surprise welcome. One of our party had a birthday whilst there and was given a lovely selection of biscotti to take home as a gift. The front desk staff were very knowledgable and helpful. The room cleaning was impeccable and the restaurant staff very lovely. All in all highly recommended. Thank you to the team for a wonderful stay!

Le ptetit déjeuner est inclus dans le prix de la chambre, mais sa qualité n'est pas à la hauteur du rang de l'établissement. Du choix certes, mais pas de produits locaux, que de l'industriel. C'est le côté décevant de l'hôtel.

The water taxi dropped us off right outside the hotel so no struggling with cases over steps and bridges. If you don't want to drag your luggage across the cobblestone, and you are looking for a beautiful, clean, quiet neighborhood to enjoy, this is it! Breakfast was also amazing. The staff is quite attentive and offers wonderful suggestions for things to do and places to eat. I've stayed here before in the Classic which was quite nice. This time we stayed a few days and it was a special occasion so we stayed in the Suite with Canal View. Well worth it!

• Vivienne (9/5): A special place in Venice. - From the moment you arrive, you are made to feel special. Staff friendly and polite. Nothing is too much trouble to ensure your stay is enjoyable. It is like a homecoming for me even if I visit only once a year or less. I have been coming to stay since the hotel first opened, more than 20 years ago. Some building work in the hotel near my room meant I could hear some machinery noise from 08.00 but not really intrusive and the workers were considerate with no shouting or swearing!

• 19vivienneb (10/5): Faultless ... welcoming...spotless - Beautiful and spotlessly clean, this hotel sits in a relatively quiet area of Venice but is within easy walking distance of all the main places of interest. The staff were warm, very hospitable, nothing was too much trouble as they aim to make their visitors feel welcome and at home. Our room was delightful, the breakfast buffet varied and sufficient. We requested a packed breakfast to go one morning on our way to catch an early train to Florence for the day and the hotel team were very happy to oblige us. On Sunday all ladies were presented with a bouquet of Mimosa in recognition of International Women's Day...such a nice touch ... my friend and I were delighted. Bar and snack prices are similar to those at home, I can recommend the salads and their "good for wine" plate of sliced meat and cheese which was plentiful. The small seating area outside the hotel catches the morning and afternoon sun which, lucky for us, was evident every day of our visit and very warm for March! It was nice and relaxing to just sit and watch the water traffic go by or chat to other hotel guests. We had booked private road and water taxis from the airport which provided hassle free arrival and return trip; yes they are expensive but they worked so well, transfers between road and water taxis were seamless making our trip so much more enjoyable. There are plenty of restaurants to explore just over the bridge to the right of the hotel and various shops over the next bridge from the little fruit and veg shop. I highly recommend this Hotel for its character, its position but in the main for the welcoming staff, Luigi is a darling and all the Reception staff who are happy to assist you in any way. Enjoy!
• Kim (10/5): - Location was perfect, all the main attractions were within walking distance but the location of the hotel was in a beautiful quiet spot. We loved it. Sitting outside in the sun with a glass of wine, what more could you ask for? Nothing!
• Dr. Jan Friedrich (9/5): Ich würde wieder hier übernachten. - Freundliches und hilfsbereites Personal. Sehr sauberes, geräumiges Zimmer mit Doppelbett, Sofa und Couchtisch. Bad mit allem, was dazugehört. Übrigens kann ich NICHT bestätigen, dass die Matratzen durchgelegen wären, wie jemand geschrieben hat: Meine Matratze war in Ordnung! Man muss den Zimmerschlüssel an der Rezeption abgeben, jedesmal, wenn man das Hotel verlässt. Ist aber kein großes Problem, da die Rezeption 24/7 besetzt ist. In meinem Zimmer gab es kaum Tageslicht, dicht davor war die nächste Hauswand – aber das ist in Venedig wohl der Regelfall.

Dormimos muy regular y por el día con dolor de espalda. Una pena!!! Un hotel debe cambiar y tener colchones de calidad y actualizarlo con frecuencia. Un mal colchón puede arruinar la ecperiencia por bonito que sea el hotel.

• bernardog938 (10/5): A unique and truly Venetian experience - We just spent 8 days at Ai Mori d'Oriente and could not speak more positively about our experience. The rooms and common areas are all comfortable and keept immaculately clean. Ai Mori has something of the warm and cozy feel of a boutique hotel, despite the elegant decor. The staff could not have been more accommodating. They made us feel at home. The location is what I would like to underscore, above and beyond all the other positive values. Located in the Cannaregio district on a small canal, the hotel facilitated our immersion into a Venice I could not have imagined: morning and late evening walks with few people and no tourists on the streets. Iconic canal views without the hordes and their selfies. Venetian families walking their children to school in the morning. Children playing in the open "campi." If what you want is to roll out of your bed and descend into the masses streaming along the Strada Nova from the train station to Rialto and on to Saint Mark's this is not for you. If you want a quiet and beautiful setting, a window onto what is left of Venetian Venice and the peace that will allow you do reflect on all this, I highly recommend this hotel. One final note: this peace and beauty come with a tradeoff. You will need to walk 20-25 minutes or you will need to ride the vaporetto up and down the grand canal if you plan to visit the major tourist sites. Although this may not be optimal for all, for us, it was a plus. I was able to take zillions of pictures of Venice's major palaces and canal life and gained a fairly deep and broad knowledge of Venice's urban grid, geography, and architecture. And we heard a wonderful amount of Venetian dialect!

• Benoit (9/5): Hôtel très agréable dans un quartier idéal - C'est la troisième fois que je séjourne à l'hôtel Ai mori d'Oriente. Je retrouve toujours la même qualité dans l'accueil, la gestion et les services. L'hôtel est admirablement bien situé à Canareggio, à 15 minutes de la gare en marchant vite mais hors des zones trop touristiques, et le rapport qualité/prix est excellent par rapport à la moyenne vénitienne. Je recommande. Il faudrait une bouilloire avec des sachets de thé et d'infusion dans les chambres. J'ai mis 9 et non 10 cette fois si car l'hôtel fait des travaux, mais nous n'avons pas été beaucoup dérangés (un tout petit peu le premier matin), et cela ne devrait pas durer très longtemps.

The quality of the breakfast buffet was very average. Difficult to find out about public transport options to the hotel. Eventually they emailed me the information but the pricing was out of date.

They gave us free coffee in the morning even though we didn't order breakfast. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom elegant and lovely. The heating in the room was a little erratic, one night we were cold, the other night we were fine!

• NWOWanderers (10/5): Nice rooms, quiet location—a stone’s throw from the action - We travelled as two couples from within a family, sans offspring. Our base was Milan for the Olympics but decided on short notice to head to Venice for two nights. We booked this hotel directly with their website (sorry, TripAdvisor). The hotel staff were incredibly helpful and attentive to detail. I loved the ‘old school’ feel of leaving your key at the front desk when you go out exploring the city—one less thing to worry about getting lost along the way. Both rooms were lovely, had a great view and incredible water pressure in the showers. We had breakfast included and there was a great assortment of things to choose from—eggs, bacon, yogurt, cheese/meats, pastries….. We arrived at the last day of Carnivale and the location was quiet yet a few blocks walk and you’re in the heart of it all. Very close to vaporetto lines to and from the rail station and Murano, though we chose to walk to and from the train. Not directly hotel related but the early morning 730 AM vaporetto to Murano was almost empty when we headed over for an early morning booked excursion. (NB most stores were not open on Murano at 730 but people watching in a local coffee shop was fun). The return trip from Murano around 2 pm meant a packed vaporetto. In short, great hotel, great location, excellent staff.
• Coeliacblogger1 (10/5): Fabulous boutique hotel, allergen friendly - Amazing boutique hotel, great location, only around 7 min to the main street with lots of shops and bars, but not in the thick of where the touristy expensive bars are, staff could not do enough for the guests, everything was just fabulous. If I could offer any advice as a brit, make sure you ask for a kettle as you get a tray with tea and coffee which is not advertised on their site. As this was something I looked for when I was looking for a hotel this might have saved me loads of time looking. We are a Gluten Free family so was really pleased to see the Gluten Free and other allergens was not a problem, they cater for everything, toast cooked under the grill in the kitchen. The bar was a great end to the day when the weather was not great and you still wanted to get a nightcap. Staff can advise on everything you need for your trip. Such a great find, I will most definitely be back. 5 star +++
• themasons23741 (10/5): Another perfect stay - We have stayed at the Ai Mori D'Oriente Hotel previously and because of our love for Venice my new Wife and I decided that we would spend our Honeymoon here . The incredibly professional, personal and friendly service of all of the members of staff really stands out . We have stayed at their sister Hotel Commedia that delivered the same impeccable service, but the quieter location with a more local vibe that Cannaregio and Ai Mori D'Oriente has, appeals to us and still only a short walk to the central attractions of Venice . A big thank to all at Mori D'Oriente for another Lovely stay .

The hotel itself is beautiful and full of character — a charming, quaint place in a quiet part of Cannaregio, which was the perfect escape from the busy tourist areas. From the moment we arrived, all the staff were welcoming, friendly, and incredibly helpful. Nothing was too much trouble, and they genuinely made our stay easy and relaxing. The hotel is also immaculately clean, which really stood out. One of the best things about this hotel is the location. It’s peaceful and calm, but still close enough to everything. We really appreciated being able to come back to a quiet area after exploring the crowds. A few recommendations for future guests: • 🚤 Do the private boat ride organised by the hotel (€45 per person) — it’s fantastic. We recommend doing this early in your trip so you can see lots of Venice from the water and then decide which places you want to return to and explore in more detail. • 🌅 Go out early for walks and sightseeing — Venice is magical in the mornings before it gets busy. • 🚖 Private transfers are worth it for ease, especially with luggage. • 🌈 Visit Burano — it’s absolutely beautiful and well worth the trip. • 🚎 Water buses are easy to use and a great way to get around. Special mentions to some wonderful people who made our stay extra memorable: • Danny the barman — amazing service and such a lovely, genuine family man. • Pavaz — honestly the nicest man in Venice! We even had to get a photo with him. We would highly recommend Ai Mori d’Oriente to anyone visiting Venice who wants a relaxing, comfortable base with outstanding staff. We’d stay here again without hesitation.

• TRAVIS (10/5): Great value overall. - Location is about 5min walk from the ferry drop off. Only about 10-15min walk to the main parts of Venice. Staff are excellent, especially the main breakfast attendant who is very kind and attentive. Everything good overall.

• P9843EXjulesb (10/5): Peaceful, clean, super friendly well located hotel - This is a super friendly hotel a couple of streets away from the madding crowds, therefore in a great location. A sense of peace and quiet and yet only 5 mins walk to the hustle & bustle. Spotlessly clean , very helpful staff and unique interior design. We had just 24 hrs in Venice and walked everywhere and also took a sunset boat tour from outside the door (arranged by reception €45 per person) which ticked all the boxes and gave us views of things we’d seen on foot from the water and even included a glimpse of dolphins!
