Guest Reviews
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Was disappointed when we got there and realised there was no bar or restaurant. It was only a place to stay . Walked into Dundrum for something to eat . Overall the room was clean and the bed comfortable but not hotel facilities
- Victoria (8/5): Nice place - The hotel overall was really nice and clean, staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast could have been better value for money as you do not get much but other than that I can’t fault it.
- Aileen (6/5): Convenient - Was attending a graduation in the IMI so booked in for convenience. Decor tired, beds comfortable, room warm. Bathroom functional, towels tired, only one complementary shower gel supplied but had brought my own. Didn't have breakfast so can't comment on that.
- michelle (6/5): Not a hotel - This is not a hotel !
Very misleading advertising, it’s literally a building with cold concrete walls. The rooms are ok but nothing to do, so far away from everything and breakfast the following morning is literally cereal or toast.
You would have better amenities in a hostel.
Definitely would not stay here again.
Good option was to order online and have it delivered
- Philip (8/5): Nice hotel, poor breakfast offerings - Very comfortable nice rooms, staff are very helpful. Breakfast was very disappointing, just basic offerings, toast, coffee cereals etc., a big let down compared to everything else.
- Jennifer (8/5): - Very basic but good price for near dubkin
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Functional , simple , standard.
A bit lifeless , needs a bit of an up date but all in all ok.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Dirty, old, stained carpets, breakfast is €8 for a selection of one type of cheese, cheap ham, and is a waste of money. There is a garage along the road that has a much better selection. The bed is however comfortable
- Rose (10/5): Mountain views and city access - Wonderful, quiet, a great room, top quality linen and orthopaedic mattress.
Reception staff are very welcoming.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Great location, very close to dundrum town shopping center.
Worn out headboard, stain marks on the walls and ceiling, very old carpeting, parking area needs resurfacing, some lights in my room did not work
- Thomas (6/5): - Basically it was okay. The room generally is very nice, same for the bathroom. It was also clean. Condition of the room wasn‘t that nice and it was really cold. Heater didn‘t work and I slept with two other blankets I found on the top of the wardrobe.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Quiet, on edge of town, free parking.
Big room.
Attractive complex, looked like one of the modern Cambridge colleges architecturally.
No bar or lounge area really. Shops required driving to.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - In a quite area so not noisy. Lack of bar/catering facilities. Signage into unit poor.
- AandB (4/5): - We have stayed here a number of times but recently it seems to be going downhill. Arrived after PRE-paying for the room but had the receptionist wanting to charge 110 euro for the room. I had pre paid but doubted myself and said ill pay on checkout which would have given me a chance to check emails etc but was refused that option. When I finally gave in I had my credit card in the machine and was just about to submit pin when I was stopped as the receptionist read the information correctly and figured out I had already paid for the room. When to the room, carpet was all stained, cushions that are decoration on the bed are covered in stains and it seemed as if the heating was not working but we thought it would come on later. Recent stays have shown us the carpets are worn but that happens in hotel rooms. We ordered a taxi went up to reception almost 10 minutes early stood in reception and walked out every now and again to see if taxi was outside. The receptionist who had tried to over charge us and who also ordered the taxi left us stand there and then told us to walk all the ways around to the other entrance to get the taxi as she did not tell him the pick up was at the residence side. We have always seen the taxis come to the residence side of the complex. It was were we were dropped off later and where others were being dropped and collected as well. Came home at 11.30pm to find room freezing as no heating working. Too late to go looking for night porter.
- Joseph (6/5): - It was fine just bare bones basic. Served its purpose
- zz (10/5): - Great location. Excellent clean room. Exactly what is advertised. Nice small gym and a free breakfast. Elizabeth from Brazil who serves breakfast was very helpful and accommodating. Leam checked me in fast and with a friendly manner. Nice hotel. Will stay again. Good value for the price!
- Ronan (8/5): - Good location, quite and clean
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Pros
It was interesting that it was on a campus. Very quiet accommodations. Like that it was close to Dundrum shopping centre and not in the hustle and bustle of Central Dublin.
Cons
Dated building but modern decor.
- Andrew (8/5): Comfortable - Basic but comfortable.
- Anthony (2/5): Don’t bother - Poor signage, confusing reception, tatty premises, very unattractive kitchen/breakfast area which all had a musty smell, very small twin‘executive’ room, thin towels, stained and shoddy shower, very cheap toilet paper, frozen mushy fruit at breakfast, only one key card, no air conditioning-room very warm!.Expensive for what we got.would rather have paid a little extra a few hundred meters away as easy to drive to a tram station or find a bus stop.Very disappointed .
- Verified traveler (6/5): - So fare away from everything, neglected building. No easy transportation
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Some lights in the bed room and bath room were not working
- Evie (8/5): - Bed wasn't as comfy as it was made to look in photos, which is what we needed for my boyfriend's back due to him having had an operation on it.
- Luca (6/5): - Good
Location right next to the office in IMI.
Free parking
Not so good
Heating not working
Carper are full of stain and not so clean
Rooms are not looked properly after
- Anne (8/5): - Nice and quiet - great post flight sleep!
Wonderful, kind, polite staff.
- Bonita (6/5): - my heating in my room was not working this was a big problem for me as i hace to feel warm not comfy if im cold lots of stains on carpets not a good look on arrival woke up at 3:30 in the morning bye drunken guests running up the hall way but all staff was very nice
- Ken (10/5): - Great quiet location but an easy drive to Dublin and other facilities.
- Linda (4/5): Stay elsewhere - The walk to reception was long and difficult with baggage. The carpet in the room was stained. I was placed in the first floor by the entrance so heard noise from guests entering all night. I did not feel safe leaving the window open for air and it would have been even noisier with the window open. Breakfast was average.
- Clementine (8/5): Great place to relax - We had an amazing stay, we loved how calme and relaxing it was. Staff was also very friendly.
To bad there is no bar or restaurant on site and cleaning could be much better
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Staff was helpful and friendly. Enjoyed the entire stay.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The room we stayed in was a lovely clean spacious twin room
- Ann (8/5): - Good quiet accommodation within the city and a reasonable distance from restaurants - about 20 minutes walk.
- Maureen (10/5): - Great place to stay , staff are great
- K (6/5): Far from Dublin city centre. - Far from the airport. Far from city centre.
- Jack (10/5): Good stay will use again - Good facility and location with many nearby places to purchase food. The provision of cutlery and crockery was very good and the ice machine excellent
- Andrew (8/5): - The thing that I didn't realize when I booked this place was how far this was from downtown Dublin. If you plan to go into downtown everyday be prepared to pay 20-25 Euros per taxi ride.
Otherwise, this was a decent place to stay at. This is attached to a huge conference center and some offices as well, but didn't present any issue. The minor issue I had was my key card stopped working on me after the first day and the receptionist had to let me in those times after that since I came back in the evening.
Overall, this is a nice quiet place to stay at, but because of the location I will probably choose something a little closer to downtown next time.
- airel (6/5): - Breakfast is decent, like much the croissants 😊.
But the room specially the bathroom room needs cleaning, there are mold and mildew around bath area. Also Reception desk need clear direction, somehow its confusing to guests.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Quiet area, very safe. Lovely grounds around centre.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Great find - very good value for Dublin . In the quiet south of the city. Close to the LUAS and on bus routes. Not a hotel as such but accommodation attached to the Management Institute (but the rooms are of hotel standard)- so although there is a place for breakfast it doesn't have a bar or restaurant- but if tou plan for that it's fine. Staff very friendly and helpful
- Maureen (10/5): - The front desk staff were really lovely
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Pleasant helpful staff.
'Down at heel' interior of property. Breakfast area grubby.
Bed linen immaculate. Bedroom Quiet and comfortable.
Shower dirty.
Tea Tray dirty.
Cushions stained.
Beadhead torn and worn through.
This place could very easily and cheaply be given a facelift which would have impacted positively on our stay.
- Janet (10/5): Comfortable, quiet, friendly, free parking, grand! - Thoroughly recommend this to everyone! Very comfortable and friendly place. And quiet too! Free carpark out front always a bonus. A little bit of a walk to the Luas though which we tried one day to Dublin .... great service and enjoyed a pub dinner near the station on the way back - a "gastropub" but forget it's name. Great buffet brekky also.
- Paula (8/5): Friendly, small, quiet accommodation - We always enjoy staying at the IMI. Easy parking. Friendly and helpful staff. Excellent WiFi. A quiet haven. On this visit we found the continental breakfast more varied and fresh than on previous stays. Lots more fruit and yoghurts on offer and we loved the large warm croissants.
- Verified traveler (6/5): business stay - not great if you dont have transport - no local food places
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Overall good clean room, breakfast not that impressive but better than nothing...
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Residence that has been converted into a hotel. Nice clean rooms and staff
- Bernadette (8/5): Comfortable stay convenient location - Great friendly clean accommodation, convenient to Dundrum Town Centre. Comfortable stay and very reasonably priced. Would consider staying again. And yes, free parking, a rarity in Dublin!
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Staff very friendly and helpful but there was no soap tray in the shower which is pretty basic especially at the price?! When I asked i was told it would be fixed but it wasn't. Too pricey and difficult to get to without a car I found.
- Therese (4/5): - My room was large, had a very comfy bed, clean sheets, clean bathroom, good pressure water in the shower so I was happy with the overall comfort of my stay. Continential breakfast was good value at €8 and restocked for late comers. On the downside though, the interiors needs some serious maintenance attention. The carpet and wall in my room were stained and the door key needed to be tried a few times with care before working. Although the receptionist in the morning was plesant I arrived at night to be welcomed by someone who seemed to be a night watchman? dressed in casual clothing and a bit kurt. Overall it's not the standard I'm used to in Irish hotels. I'm sure the staff do their best and their lives would be made easier if there was investment made to maintain the interiors as it has a lot of potential. Although it didn't affect me one should be aware that the residense is off a main road in suburban area with no obvious food shops or cafes nearby.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Large room, adequate accomodation
difficult to open/close the window
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Fantasic accommodation. Very easy check in process, nice clean rooms and facilities, easy parking.
- Paul (8/5): - have used IMI residence many times and will continue to do so as it is so convenient
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Nature is beautiful, very quiet and staff is very nice and polite
- Michel (6/5): Nearly IMPOSSIBLE to find - Nearly IMPOSSIBLE to find, took over 1.5 hours driving in circles, asking directions twice, which no one was really sure of. The location on Google maps is a locked gate of the National Bank of Ireland. A bit far from Dublin city center. Seems more like a dorm for a college, comfortable enough. TV wasn't set up for use. Luckily we were just looking for a place to sleep and moving on the next day.
- mikedenston (10/5): - The accommodation itself is set in a surrounding tree area ,is very quiet and the staff are very welcoming. The rooms facing the car park have a better view but as it was very quiet you weren't disturbed by people coming and going, the rooms were as standard very clean ,if you take breakfast it is continental but of to a very good standard cereals juices porridge yogurts fruit cheeses ham bread lots of coffee we stopped here as it was very reasonable compared to Dublin City which if you are prepared to work to the tram about half an hour and then about half an hour on it , it isn't well worth about 20 euros back in a taxi if having a night out otherwise dundrum which is walakable had a shopping centre and restaurants which I said worth a visit
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Very basic accommodation but a good location close to all that the South side offers.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Quiet location, away from Dublin city, easy to access via car and bus
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Convenient location near Dundrum, Dublin. Good size comfortable room. Parking and regular transport nearby.
- Frank (10/5): Comfy and Cost effective option - Really comfy and cost effective option in Dublin - close to Sandyford which was where my meetings were.
- Leah (10/5): Great Service - The motel was geeat. It was too warm though
The locality was too far from the city.
It was accessible though from the bus and train. The receptionists were very helpful. There was no evening meal available even though the Conference centre had the capacity to cater.
- A (8/5): - Maintenance was being done outside the room in the corridor. Workers were loud and using foul language. Tool boxes and wires were outside our door which people could have fallen over. Pillows were flat. TV had channels missing (and not sky sports or anything like that – simply ones like RTE2)
However, the complex was quiet at night. Plenty of free parking. Room was warm. Close to Dundrum Shopping Centre.
- Sue (8/5): - Clean, pleasant, some renovations going on but overall we found it good value for money.
- STEPHEN (8/5): A Place to Stay - This was my second stay at this venue - I stayed at the same time last year and repeated the exercise because it's one of the more economical places to stay in Dublin - a city that has become ever more costly to stay in. One of its few problems is accessibility from the airport: the airport coaches go nowhere near it so you're looking at a 'best fit' coach and a walk or a taxi. It's not really in Dublin proper, so if it's night-life and over-marketed craic that you're wanting, you'll need to travel to find it. It is, however, reasonably convenient for the UCD campus.
This is a management centre and seems to be deserted at the week-end: there's no restaurant and no bar but there are very friendly, helpful and engaging staff and very pleasant rooms with acres of beddage to enjoy. If you want to eat (and, as living mammals, you'll probably want to at some point) a walk down the hill leads you to Tesco (for cheapskates such as I am) or restaurants (probably; I didn't really look. That great adventure is yours to enjoy).
The room I had was quiet, neither too hot nor too cold, comfortable, and better than many others I've had. I can't say much more than that. I shall probably be booking again for next year if the same job comes up again.
- Kathleen (8/5): Great for a night or two.comfortable - We needed to be in area for a quick visit, this hotel was ideal for this. Not luxurious but nice clean rooms and quiet setting.
Would stay again if on a quick visit.
- Becky (6/5): - The hotel seems worn out carpet had holes in it and walls had dings. They said the were renovating but I didn't see any construction going on.
- S (6/5): - Average stay. Problems with room keys, paid for breakfast, there was nothing we liked, bathroom was not cleaned properly.
- Meryl (8/5): - Clean and comfortable room, no issues at all. The hotel is some way out from the centre so we found it useful having our own transport.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - very quiet tranquil and near Dundrum centre. simplicoty at its best
- Graham (10/5): - Very good room, very comfortable bed,and very good continental breakfast it was the residential block for the conference centre a good start to the holiday
- Johnny (10/5): - Very comfortable room.Friendly staff.Break only continental,but plentiful.
- J (4/5): - We were there 3 nights. Upon arrival I mentioned to the man at the desk that the pillows were feathers and I am allergic to feathers. Was there a pillow that didn't have feathers? We had this discussion 3 times. We assured me that all the feather pillows had been replaced with "feather-like" pillows. Mine said on the tag feathers and down. I ended up using the decorative cushions for 3 nights. There were 3 lights burned out in our room. The dust on the windowsill was very evident. The location was .8 kilometres from any restaurant and the tram to go into Dublin.
On the plus side, the room was large and nicely decorated. It was quiet, not many people staying there.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Nice quiet area. Room was comfortable. Staff that I did interact with all very helpful and friendly. Bathroom had a little bit of mold in the shower and the bed spread had something stained and somewhat sticky on it? Looked like a drink or jam?! ! All in all, was good value and I’d stay again!
- Cashado (8/5): close to Leopardstown - good, helpful staff and clean rooms. Public transport is OK. The nearest Luas is Kilmacud.
- Sean (8/5): Clean and comfortable - Suitable for an overnight stay, clean and comfortable
- Andrew (8/5): Great Location.
- We came for a day out in Dublin and a day out at Leopardstown races and found IMI the perfect location to stay. On the outskirts of Dundrum it was a pleasant 15 minute walk to the town centre where Dundrum has a fantastic shopping centre plenty of bars and places to eat. The cost was on the cheap side compared to most other places we looked at and we will certainly come back here. The room was very clean, comfortable and more than did the job for us. There are no extra facilities like a bar and lounge but we didn't need or want that.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Very disappointing - This hotel was appalling. It is unclean and hasn’t been well maintained at all. The staff are the only redeeming feature as they are very friendly. The breakfast was very low standard.
- Caroline (8/5): Great budget hotel - Great budget hotel. Staff very friendly & efficient. Room was fine, bed comfy but cleanliness could of been better. Would stay again because price was excellent.
- Verified traveler (8/5): close to dundrum shopping centre - hidden away and in a strange place horrible from the outside but beautiful comfy rooms. lifts not wprking due to contruction breakfast was good. tea and coffee in the room nd in kitchen available all night
- Eric (6/5): - Another basic BnB type place, a part of the local training organisation. Rooms ok, a little tired in places but for a one night stand perfectly adequate. Plenty of dining options down the road at the local shopping mall.
- ann (6/5): Basic facilities. - If your just looking for a bed for the night then this is ideal. Very basic facilities toiletries limited (just1small body/hair wash ) Bed comfortable but would be nice to have access to extra pillows had to use one of the cushions on the bed to keep curtains shut as the top had come off the runner.Bath towels also small . Staff very helpful and friendly. Personally I would pay the small amount extra next time to stay in one of the neighbouring hotels for more comfort but it was an experience.
- nigel (6/5): Bit far out from Dublin City - The room was comfortably furnished and the staff at the desk were helpful, however there’s nothing near by and the city is €25 in a taxi
- L (10/5): - Lovely stay in this hotel. Only thing missing was a bar otherwise everything was great
- MR EMR (6/5): Close to ring road and easily accessible - Easy to get to from the ring road and there’s a large car park with no height restrictions. WiFi is good. Beds are comfortable and TV adequate. Kettle provided. But bathroom shower fixing was broken and when reported provoked no interest. No facilities here, so you need to walk to the shops - big shopping centre 15 minute walk away.
- Danielle (10/5): - It was really nice. The staff was great and very helpful with directions.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Nice overall stay, just stayed one night. Would stay again.
- Jennifer (6/5): Functional venue - Receptionist was very helpful and the rooms were large. Breakfast is continental but there isn't a restaurant. It's located within walking distance to Dundrum so you can access many restaurants. Typical conference facilities.
- Mark (2/5): Horrible staff hotel and premises for a 4 stars - We arrived to the hotel very late and although it is supposed to be a 4 stars hotel the reception was not fully opened. Google doesn't even know where the place is and the place is not advertised correctly. When calling the reception night manager it was almost impossible to understand where to go. When arrived at the venue (finally) he was very rude and unpolite. I would not recommend a stay in this hotel to no one. It seems close to public transport for the centre but it's not. It is also in a very uncomfortable position for anyone meant to be close to the city center
- Peter (8/5): Remote, but comfortable - This hotel is difficult to get to without a car. The bus service into the city is infrequent and it is not near any tram or rail stations. The room I had was excellent, very comfortable and a good shower. Breakfast was a good buffet style where you help yourself to everything. Helpful and friendly staff. I would stop here again if I had enough time.
- pauline (6/5): for visitors who do not get there with a car - 2 things to remind potential visitors. First the hotel is too far from the Dublin Airport There is no public transport to get anywhere near the hotel.Second there is no cafeteria service in the hotel during our stay. You have to walk into near-by food outlets with a fifteen minute walk. Otherwise you have to accept take out orders.
- Ewelina (8/5): beautifiul quiet area - Great spacious room, furnished with calming turquoise and grey, beautifiul quiet area. Breakfast though is rather poor which is a pity given there's no restaurants/shops in the immediate area so you're stuck with it, poor selection and rather random cheese and ham (also pity for those that dont want to/cant eat animals products) however the coffe was really good. If not for the not particularly interesting breakfast (an in a beautiful surroundigs like there, it really calls for smth really nice to eat and enjoy the stay) the whole stay would have been 10/10.
- minicoop (6/5): Could hardly find the place - Couldn’t find place easily. Parking was nowhere near the door making it difficult for luggage. Could tell it was an old campus of some sort. Front desk was not the friendliest when we did decide to park and go into what looked like an abandoned place and see if this was the hotel.
- Verified traveler (6/5): College dorms - These are more similar to college dorms, the location is definitely in need of some deep bleach cleaning. The bathrooms were really dirty.
The night staff was not very pleasant, however the morning staff were nice.
- Lisa (8/5): Suitable for our single night stay - Accommodation was suitable for what we needed and the staff was very helpful. We had a car rental and found the car parking was good for this. Early check out was easy.
- Debbie (8/5): Too far away from the airport. - The hotel was ok but, it was used more as a big conference place, then a hotel. It was about 35 minutes from the airport, therefore a expensive taxi ride😬.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The room was clean, the staff polite. Decent stay for the one night.
- Mike (4/5): Like a dormitory - More like a dormitory than a hotel. No lounge or restaurant. Spartan.
- Verified traveler (8/5): not in city centre good for travelling around - room comfortable and clean facilities in room good. Breakfast not enough choice very limited. Desk staff very help full with directions and places to eat in the evening
- Verified traveler (10/5): Only for 1 night before Beacon hospital appoint - Perfect for my hospital visit and very clean and had everything I could want .
- Jack (8/5): Dublin is close - This is a conference center that also rents rooms for individuals. Rooms are clean and quiet. It is a bit of a walk to restaurants, but bus service is right at hotel entrance. Wi-Fi is good. There is a shopping mall with food and train service nearby. Great for a budget minded couple.
- Ian (10/5): Too far out of town 4G mind by buse - Excellent receptionist willing to help with anything. Curtains.some of the curtain needed to be rehung.
