• Peter (3/5): OK for an average business hotel but certainly no luxury. - Location is handy for the Excel, when at a conference. Only stayed 1 night and put the do not disturb sign on the door, however room cleaning still knocking at 9.30am. I didn't have to check out until midday. No Minibar facilities, just 2 cans of water. Not ideal when you have been at a conference all day and just want a snack and chill out.

Still thankful for the lady supervisor who told us we were moved to another room. - The location is best when you need to be in the O2 Arena for a concert etc. When we arrived, we were given a room where the air conditioning wasn’t working, the fire alarm was covered with a used sock probably from the previous guest, the sink in the bathroom wasn’t draining properly. It took so much time for them to rectify the issue and an electric fan was the solution to our air-conditioning concern. Seemed like nobody from reception cared about it until a few more calls from us the next day raising the concern. In the end, we were allocated another room which was bigger and given complimentary drinks but the air conditioning, though a bit better, wasn’t what we expected. It would have been nice if we were informed beforehand that they are sorting out their air conditioning system.

• Özlem (8/5): Gute Lage nettes Personal - Gute Lage zu den verschiednen Bahnen. Frühstück für englische Verhältnisse sehr gut mit frischem Obst. Stets freundliches Personal! Konnten mir europäische Stecker leihen, was super war da ich meine vergessen hatte. Trotz wiederholtem Bitten um getrennte Decken hat es nicht geklappt. Abends war kein housekeeping da und morgens hatte ich drum gebeten es tagsüber zu tun was abends als ich da war leider wieder nicht erledigt war.

• 946globals (10/5): First Class Service - I had to go on a trip for a few weeks and took the family along. Due to the nature of my trip, I have some last minute admin I needed to complete. Ali & Nauman at the front desk were not only extremely helpful but polite and courteous, in fact the whole hotel was this way, but Ali & Nauman deserve a special call out. It is customer service like this which will ensure I return again.

• Raphaele (1/5): Attention ils n’acceptent pas les espèces ! - À Londres, un hôtel peut légalement refuser les espèces et n’accepter que la carte bancaire, tant qu’il annonce clairement sa politique de paiement avant la réservation. Si j’avais lu la loi, j’aurais pu rétorquer, j’ai recherché un établissement à Londres, sans prépaiement. Lorsque nous arrivons dans cet établissement, nous avons eu pour obligation de régler avec la carte bleue car il n’acceptait pas les espèces. Le problème est que moi et mon mari nous nous étions arrangés différemment. Ils n’ont pas précisé lors du paiement que nous étions obligés de régler avec la carte bancaire. Ils n’ont rien voulu savoir, rien n’a été possible, aucun geste de leur part, aucun effort. Et même en partant, ils se sont moqués de moi, en me prenant de haut, parce que c’est ma fille qui m’a donné le numéro de chambre, ils ne comprenaient pas que l’espace d’un instant j’ai pu oublier mon numéro de chambre…bref l’hôtel était cependant propre et la literie bonne, mais si j’avais su pour cette histoire de carte bleue, j’aurais trouvé un hôtel dans le centre.

• tracyh971 (8/5): Disappointing cleanliness but otherwise good - Excellent location for Excel events. Nice area with eateries located close by. Helpful staff at reception and the main areas of the hotel are very clean and attractive. The rooms are nice, but it’s impossible to put anything under the tap as it’s so low to the sink! Plenty of plug sockets and USB ports making them practical for business use. I’d read previous reviews about blood stains on carpets and chose to ignore. Sadly my room also had many stains on the carpet and blood on the curtains!! I also found the back of an earring under the wardrobe so clearly the room wasn’t as clean as it should be.

It’s not within the city which is crowded but just 45 mins to big ben they have a parking lot too if you’re bringing a car. The bed was so comfy and room was excellent. We will definitely stay again here :) Maybe for the breakfast. it’s not free 😂

They both did their best to help me strive to perfection and it made me feel welcome. Also stayed in the hotel myself which was also fine in a good location next to the Excel Arena.

Halima, who supported us throughout the booking process, was fantastic—professional, responsive, and incredibly helpful in ensuring every detail was arranged smoothly. Her support made the planning process seamless and stress-free. On the day of the event, everything ran perfectly. The venue was well-organized, the atmosphere was welcoming, and the event itself was executed flawlessly. Our guests had a wonderful experience, and we were very pleased with how smoothly everything came together. A big thank you to Halima and the team at Novotel London ExCeL for delivering such a successful event. We would highly recommend this venue for corporate gatherings and group events.

Rank. - The location is good for anything related to excel, 02, we stayed here before the London Marathon and it was a good choice from that point of view. The staff in the restaurant are rude and fair from appreciative of the tip already added to the food bill, even though we had to come up to the bar to order the food. So if it’s a service charge, I would expect to be serviced. This isn’t the US, we don’t just tip as a standard.

• Tanisha (1/5): Rip off - Nothing I had a really disappointing experience staying at Novotel Excel. From the moment I arrived, the staff came across as rude and unhelpful, which immediately set the tone for the stay. What bothered me most was how it felt like they were constantly trying to squeeze extra money out of guests. There were unnecessary add-on charges popping up for things that should have been straightforward, and it honestly felt more like a cash grab than hospitality. At one point, I was even locked out of my room and then told I had to pay extra for a new key card — completely unreasonable and incredibly frustrating after a long day. To make matters worse, basic amenities were neglected. The water in the room wasn’t replenished, which is such a simple thing but makes a big difference in how cared-for you feel as a guest. Overall, the service was poor, the experience felt exploitative, and I definitely wouldn’t recommend staying here.

• Birgit (4/5): - Das Zimmer und die Lage des Hotels sind allerdings ausgezeichnet. Leider hat es mitten in der Osternacht einen Feueralarm gegeben. Das bedeutet Kinder beruhigen die wichtigen Sachen zusammenpacken und über den Fluchtweg durchs Treppenhaus nach unten hin. Unten angekommen waren die Kinder immer noch sehr aufgebracht, da das Gedrängel im Treppenhaus auch nicht gerade wenig war. Es zeichnete sich schnell ab, dass es sich um einen Fehl Alarm gehandelt hat, die Feuerwehr ist schnell wieder abgezogen. Wieder durchs Treppenhaus fünf Etagen nach oben hin. Die Nacht war quasi rum, da die Kinder nicht mehr schlafen konnten. Es war kein Personal da, was erklärt hat, warum dieser Alarm jetzt ausgelöst hatte, auch am Ostersonntag morgen wurde da nicht groß drüber gesprochen. Der Ostersonntag war daher für uns ein Reinfall, da die Kinder halt sehr müde waren. Auf Anfrage per E-Mail wurde bis jetzt leider nicht. Reagiert daher jetzt diese Bewertung.

Comfortable rooms, quiet with everything you could need. Car parking is is not guaranteed, there were no spaces so had to park elsewhere at a considerable cost.

• Carolyn (8/5): Excellent, would definitely stay again. - The twin single beds were a really good size. Larger than regular singles and very comfortable. The staff were extremely helpful and cheery, and the location for Excel could not have been better. The shower was very weak, and the toilet was not in the shower room, so washing hands after using the toilet was a bit of a faff. But the comfort of the beds, location and staff made up for this very small negative. I would rather have a bigger bed and the a separate toilet than a smaller bed with a sink in with the toilet!
