Room was disappointing. Dirty carpet, shower head small with weak spray, and light set-up is awful. You must leave BRIGHT entry door light ON to have access to other lights/lamps. When entry door light is off, no other lights work.

J’ai particulièrement apprécié la propreté de l’hôtel, qui était irréprochable durant tout le séjour, ainsi que son emplacement très pratique lorsqu’on est véhiculé. L’accès est simple et les déplacements vers différents points de Londres se font facilement en voiture ou en transport en commun avec 2 stations train a 10 minutes a pieds. Concernant le reste des prestations, cela reste dans les standards classiques d’un hôtel de cette catégorie : confortable et correct, mais sans élément particulièrement marquant ou exceptionnel. Globalement, une bonne expérience pour un séjour pratique et fonctionnel. L’hotel est proche de beaucoup de zones commerciales en voiture et a 25 minutes en moyenne du centre de londres en train. En revanche, plusieurs points méritent d’être améliorés. Les prix du restaurant sont, selon moi, tres excessifs par rapport aux quantités servies et au standing global de l’hôtel. On s’attend à une prestation plus qualitative à ce niveau de tarif. Autre point négatif : les chambres manquent clairement d’espace de rangement. Les placards sont très petits, avec une simple penderie, ce qui devient vite compliqué lorsqu’on voyage avec plusieurs tenues ou pour un séjour un peu long.

Het duurde al met al toch best veel tijd om naar het centrum te reizen.

- Lauren (2/5): Terrible stay. - Helpful location with proximity to London city airport. There was a very large vent in my room, the noise from which could not be masked with earbuds (I’m usually a very heavy sleeper but it was incredibly noisy). On top of this, the heating in the room didn’t work and I couldn’t get it warmer than 16 degrees. I asked to be moved to another room but there was limited space - so I had to request a second duvet several times at the front desk before a worker brought up a broken heater, and then finally, a second duvet. In addition, the room smelt like someone had previously smoked in there and masked it with excessive amounts of air freshener. I’d booked hoping to get as much sleep as possible before an early morning flight, and ended up with zero sleep.

Холодильник мини-бара в комнате наличествует номинально. В Лондон прилетел из Нидерландов, вез в подарок голландскую селедку. Одна из двух вакуумных упаковок двухдневное путешествие через условный холодильник в номере отеля не пережила. Звукоизоляция, особенно по части двери, в отеле тоже номинальная. Блуждающие в ночи от номера к номеру по коридору шумные гости слышны так, как будто двери нет вовсе.

Sofa bed not great — you can feel every spring. Breakfast was okay, but I expected better after seeing all the reviews online. I understand it’s partly personal preference, but the juice was undrinkably sweet and the fruit was dried out.

Mustafa went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect, always checking if we needed anything and serving guests with a smile and great attention to detail. His positive attitude and excellent hospitality truly made our mornings enjoyable and memorable. It’s rare to come across someone so dedicated and passionate about customer service. - streakymorris (10/5): A great hotel with friendly and attentive staff. - My Wife and I had a wonderful stay here. We had a lovely King Deluxe room overlooking the Royal Victoria Dock. Check in was smooth and very quick and we were warmly greeted by Abdullah who checked us in super efficiently. What a gentleman he was and he made us feel very welcome. The room was spotlessly clean, bathroom was a generous size and the bed very comfortable. After a day of sightseeing we enjoyed a drink in the hotel bar which was great. Very comfortable and had sport on the TV to enjoy whilst having a drink. We were greeted at breakfast with a beautiful beaming smile from Judith, who showed us to our table, explained the breakfast options and constantly checked in on us to make sure we were enjoying our breakfast. She really was a ray of sunshine first thing in the morning. Thank you Judith for looking after us. Breakfast was excellent. Lots of choice, from fruit and yoghurt, fully cooked breakfast and plenty of pastry options. Chef was happy to cook us poached eggs and I saw other guests enjoying omelettes too. This is a super hotel and the staff are very friendly and attentive. I thoroughly recommend staying here. .

The location was minutes' walk away from the registration. The hotel staff could not have been more helpful. The location is fantastic, with parking, and a generous vegan-friendly breakfast. We will definitely stay again.

When I first checked in, Abdullah was incredibly helpful—he answered all my questions, especially as it was my first experience, and made such a great first impression. He even helped me with my car, which I really appreciated. The room was delightful, well equipped, and had everything you could need during your stay. The views were absolutely amazing, which made my experience even more enjoyable. At breakfast, Judith was lovely and very helpful. She explained everything clearly to me, and when someone accidentally left a dirty plate at my table while I went to get a drink, she noticed straight away and cleared it for me. The food throughout my stay was amazing. I didn’t get the name of the person who helped me at the bar, but he was very friendly and patient with me, which I really appreciated. Everyone has been so welcoming, friendly, and helpful throughout my stay. A special thank you to Abdullah for making my first hotel experience such a positive and memorable one!

A nice hotel located right next to the docks, modern, good breakfast and evening meal, a more formal restaurant with the added of a relaxed bar setting as options and all 10-15 mins walk to Excels main entrance.

- Scenic05215838576 (2/5): Unfair commercial practice - During the delegation’s stay in London from 28 April to 6 May, accommodation was arranged at the DoubleTree by Hilton London ExCeL, with three suites booked and fully paid for in advance. On 1 May, the hotel downgraded two of the suites to standard rooms due to facility issues. This change was not communicated to the organiser at any point during the stay. The downgrade was only discovered upon reviewing the final invoice, which showed room numbers inconsistent with the original suite allocation. When clarification was sought, the hotel acknowledged the downgrade but did not provide an apology or explanation. Despite the downgrade, the hotel continued to charge the full suite rate for 10 downgraded room nights, resulting in a significant overcharge. A 50% discount was offered only after the issue was raised directly. Efforts to contact the General Manager were unsuccessful, as the hotel declined to provide direct contact details and instead directed communication through reception. This raised concerns regarding transparency and accountability. A formal complaint has been submitted to the hotel and escalated to Hilton Corporate for review. The matter is being pursued through the appropriate consumer rights channels to ensure a full refund of the overcharge and appropriate compensation for the inconvenience caused to the delegation.
- jenniferrV949NX (8/5): FRIENDLY STAFF and Nice View - Location - safe and nice view of the river. A bit of a walk from the public transport, if you are not used to walking. If you are used to walking, shouldn't be a problem. Service - most of the staff were very friendly and accommodating, especially Chinx and Irene. They were always ready to answer any question and help with any concerns that we had. They helped us make sense how to get around London and places in the hotel we could meet for small meetings. During breakfast, really appreciated the friendliness and helpfulness of Judith ( thanks the Greenwich suggestion) and Luisa (her omelettes were delicious) Amenities - has all the essentials especially since you will spend most the day visiting London. Rooms - normal room is good for 2. If it will be a triple share it is a bit of a squeeze. Suggest you request for a corner room or an extra bed instead of pullout bed. TV - you can't connect your Netflix account but you can mirror your device.
