Guest Reviews
- Mobile43249458009 (10/5): The exterior doesn't show the charm of the place as it does inside - Don't judge a book by it's cover, the exterior might look a little bit dated but that's part of the charm of this hotel.
The staff are lovely whether it's breakfast in the morning, something needed in the room or just a lovely pint of guinness at dinner/tea .
Every aspect has it's charm .
Does seem further from the centre but it's really not.
Food menu for breakfast is small but is a nice choice. Dinner menu does change day to day and is a good range of choice too. From a full irish breakfast in the morning to a roast dinner on sunday with different choices of meat (from beef to lamb to turkey) the team definitely want to feed their guest.
The rooms are clean and comfortable and the hotel do supply towels too.
When i come back I'll definitely be using this charming hotel again especially as it's was a great experience made by the lovely staff which is worth more than i paid.
- gloriao796 (10/5): Great experience - I cannot praise this hotel highly enough. Cleanliness there is amazing, staff go above and beyond for service, food is excellent. Would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Dublin.
- M7574UScathyd (10/5): A treasure - The West countyhotel local treasure. It's warm cosy accessable for all. The staff are so helpful and really look after you. A decent pot of tea and lovely coffee and Chocolate available 24 /7.tbe staff are attentive to everyone even the children. Beautiful carvery lovely food. From all menus.worlds best trifle band the steak sandwich is lovely fancy pizza too love this place it's the heart of the community .also really clean and smells Great.
- R9377VEkimr (2/5): Awful experience an experience none of us was expecting - We had my mothers afters here from her funeral on Friday we choose here because she was married in this hotel over 50 years ago.from start to finish we were treated appalling it was disgraceful I especially want to mention the manager Justin that was rude to every one of us that was there to celebrate the life of our mother. It was very surprising considering we only seen 6 other guests in the hotel during the day the money that was spent in the hotel I feel they should have been grateful. shame on all the staff at the west county hotel for no reason at all towards our whole family and how we were treated. Justin the manager had a conversation with a guest belong to us telling him how he grew up on a farm and that his family were not impressed that he left to be a manager in a hotel I think it’s time to go back and feed the pigs Justin because your manager skills are disgraceful zero empathy towards a family that gave you no reason to treat us how you did shame on you
- ellamc123 (10/5): Lovely Staff! - Really friendly and accommodating staff, would 10/10 recommend! Fantastic service and a lovely atmosphere in the hotel also.
- fionasC4339AL (10/5): Excellent stay - Excellent value as a hotel in Dublin would highly commend all the staff fun and very friendly breakfast this morning was delicious. The hotel is spotless beds very comfy I will be back
- purple1068 (8/5): Just a one night stay - Lovely Hotel, very local to were we needed to be Breakfast had a great variety options. The room was clean and comfortable. Only 20 minutes from airport.
- Scenic376115 (10/5): A truly lovely hotel. - This is a really easy hotel to stay in, it is really fresh and clean, with a relaxed calm atmosphere. Dinner , B& B was very good value and the dinner was excellent. I would recommend the roast beef. Breakfast was lovely. The location is great for the M50 and city center. Finally , every member of staff we met were helpful and friendly. Well done.
Overall a lovely hotel stay, I will definitely stay in The West County hotel again.
- Patricia (10/5): - Good
- wwwmikthewhocom (10/5): When you like the work you do it shows - Dropped in for something to eat and left very satisfied with our experience. Staff were focused and engaged from the start to the finish. Nice big room which allows for a good balance for group celebration, solo or family to entertain themselves unobtrusively. Food was good and I appreciated the veg in a separate dish which gave me a decent size meal. We left feeling satisfied with food and prices especially since the portion size was slightly bigger and prices slightly cheaper than some of our recent Hotel stops for food in Dublin
- jameshF672QY (10/5): Beautiful Hotel with wonderful staff - The location of this hotel for access to Dublin is wonderful with free car parking and just a short ride to the city centre. The atmosphere in the hotel is wonderful and made special by the wonderful staff who are all so polite and helpful. The rooms re spacious and extremely clean. For value for money this hotel is head and shoulders above any in the Dublin vicinity. Thank you all for making our stay so wonderful. We have an amazing stay. Rose and James.
- John (8/5): - Convenient location with bus access to Dublin centre. A dated but friendly hotel. Lovely breakfast.
- Thealheath (6/5): Good as a overnight stay while traveling to/from Dublin - It was obviously seen some years, but seems cared for. The people were friendly and the breakfast good. We used this as a jump-off point after flying into Dublin because it's conveniently located off the M50/M4 at a fair price. Would probably use again if in the same situation.
- CharleyNetherlands (8/5): Good location to explore Dublin and surroundings. - We stayed for in total 6 nights in the West County Hotel. We chose this hotel mainly for the free parking, and the easy access to the highways. There is an easy bus connection to the center just in front of the hotel.
Rooms recently renovated, with lots of outlets and even USB charging, but the bathroom is a bit small.
The food in the Liffy Bar is nothing special. But all staff was very friendly and helpfull.
- Drusilla (6/5): Decent accommodation - It is a shame you're charged maximun for room even though there's 2 staying and not three. We had no choice for a double when booking, but paid more than our friends. Think this is unfair. Water not very hot in showers. Also the vegetarian cooked breakfast is just the normal one with the meat removed. No exccuse in this day and age not to provide a substitute product.
However, staff were really friendly and helpful and a very respectable check out time of 12 noon is much appreciated.
- JoAnne (10/5): A favourite Dublin hotel. Highly recommend. - We absolutely loved this hotel! Just a short one night stay before a flight. Lots of safe parking. Friendly reception. Went to the bar restaurant for lunch, dinner and dessert. It was excellent. Service exceptional. Comfortable beds. Bathrooms are a tight squeeze for two people but okay for a short stay. Left too early for breakfast so they made us a wonderful take away lunch which was very much appreciated. Thank you to the gentleman who helped us in the early morning hours. Highly recommend this hotel. Will return.
- Paul (10/5): - Breakfast finished too early
- ANDREA (10/5): Night away - The hotel was clean the staff were friendly. Particularly when we got stuck for a bus or a taxi on the way back from a concert the receptions arranged a taxi to pick us from our location. I would stay here again for sure.
- Madison (10/5): - the staff here were SO NICE! even if i don’t stay here when i come back to dublin, i’ll definitely come in just to go to the bar and say hi
- tyler (10/5): - great
- Resort18229960408 (10/5): !0 minutes from the Centre in a Peaceful area with great FREE Parking. - We stayed here on our mini tour of Ireland . Great Parking , Nice quiet area but on a quick bus trip to the Centre . Highlight of the stay was the Sunday carvery . Great atmosphere from the staff and every customer seemed happy . We had a carvery and best beef ive tasted . It was lovely . Rooms are quite old fashioned but thats part of the hotels charm . Near to the Park , Dublin Zoo and a quick bus into dublin from across the road . Thanks for your hospitality The West County Hotel . Making our trip from Sunderland a bit special . Great value all round.
- Louise (10/5): - Everything was an amazing experience for us as first time being to Dublin and the staff made me feel so welcomed and look forward to visiting again soon xxx
- O3528XCkatier (4/5): Mediocre at best - We came here for a bite to eat. The food was mediocre at the very best.
The chicken wings were tiny, I've never seen such tiny chicken wings with the tiniest bit of hot sauce there was barely any flavour.
We also had fish and chips, fish was nice but it was over cooked. I dont know if it was busy or not but the whole meal felt rushed.
The kids meals were nice and good value.
Aside from the food the service really let's the west county down. The manager behind the bar was extremely rude and condescending. He was leering down at me when I ordered a drink and made me feel extremely uncomfortable. The older lady with the dark curly hair could do with a career change, she looked like she didnt want to be there and even rolled her eyes at me.
The floor staff need proper training but I dont think they will learn anything worthwhile from the more 'experienced' staff.
- Andrew (10/5): - Great little hotel really nice
- Graham19826 (10/5): Lovely family hotel in Dublin - A lovely family hotel in Dublin and good value prices. Excellent and very friendly staff. Lovely food with great portions. Very handy for central Dublin with easy public transport links. Would definitely recommend and will stay again 🙂
- M9557CSjohns (10/5): Great reception when I got here read the rest . - Well I've just arrived at the hotel 1st time here I was met by a bubbly receptionist called Niamh who says she never gets a mention here well here's your 1st I was made feel welcome and enjoyed the chat when I arrived told me all the necessary info that I needed and sent me on my way to a lovely room exactly what I need peace and quiet as I've an early start in morning driving a tour bus to Clare I would recommend this hitel to anyone it's not far from main road and plenty of parking food on till 9pm and told it's lovely so why not try for yourself thanks Niamh see ya again on my travels .
- 786kayg (10/5): Fun weekend - A lovely friendly welcome.
Nothing was to much trouble.
We enjoyed our weekend, the room was comfortable clean and had everything we needed
Even after we checked out and missed our bus, the staff went above and beyond to look after us until the next bus.
Thank you Justin for a great laugh
- chrisgee2017 (10/5): Brilliant hotel - brilliant hotel ,very nice room breakfast was superb. loved the food in the as they served corned beef. very nice staff. spotless clean and very reasonably priced. would definitely visit again. would recommend it to anyone. i stayed two night and really enjoyed it.
- Dean (8/5): - The staff were friendly, helpful and welcoming. Especially the young lady on the Reception desk when we checked in - she went above and beyond with advice and transport tips.
- Alison (8/5): - Hotel very dated, but very clean and tidy. Staff were amazing they went above and beyond
- Teresa (10/5): Gem not far from city centre - We arrived late and thought the hotel was an old hotel from first glance and it was but the room was newly refurbished and was immaculate as was the bathroom. Bed was so comfy.
Breakfast the next morning was lovely but a huge selection but more than enough and very tasty.
Staff were so friendly, welcoming could not fault them at all
- John (8/5): - It’s ok . Good breakfast and plenty of parking
- Jonathan (10/5): - Amazing breakfast and all the staff, were lovely and pleasant
- Heidi (10/5): Great, comfortable, clean & very friendly staff - Lovely clean hotel. The staff were lovely, our room was ready early & the room was very comfortable with everything we needed. The shower room was great - nice hot shower.
Tea, coffee etc in the room.
The bar was lovely too - staff very friendly & helpful & the food was really good the two nights we ate there.
We went into the city on the bus - the stop was opposite the hotel & took coins only - it was €2.60 into the city & took about 30 mins.. the buses went every 15mins on a Friday.
Thank you for a great, comfortable stay.
- katiebH5242BS (10/5): Couldn’t of asked for any better - 11 of us visited Dublin for my uncles 60th birthday and stayed for 2 nights, from the minute we entered the hotel we felt welcomed. Honestly couldn’t recommend and will definitely be staying again on our next visit, the hotel was spotless and the were very helpful and friendly.
Breakfasts both mornings were enjoyed by all of us ( partner is still talking about how nice the sausages were ).
The Sunday carvery was well worth the money, we also tried the Saturday and Sunday evening menu which again everyone enjoyed.
There’s a bus stop directly outside which brings you into Dublin centre which we found really convenient.
Thanks again to the staff and will definitely be returning soon.
Evans Family x
- Lisa (6/5): - Very poor gluten free option for breakfast even though this was requested pre travel
- V4768XNshirleym (2/5): Has really gone downhill. - I have always supported the Colgan Family as I was born and bred in Lucan and most of my family know them personally. I have frequented both hotels numerous times. The West County Hotel has gone downhill completely.
As we had missed lunch by 5 minutes we had to order from the Bar Menu. We didn’t mind having to wait 20 minutes to order whilst they set up, but I do mind that the food that was served was absolutely disgusting.
All 3 of us ordered Fish & Chips as the Joint of the Day was Corned Beef which we all dislike.
Who in their right mind would serve Battered Coley with greasy frozen chips and have the neck to charge €18 for it.
Obviously one would expect to get Cod/Smoked Cod. To serve cheap and nasty frozen chips alongside was unacceptable. In this day and age you can get a decent frozen chip.
We were hungry and tried our best to eat it as there was no where else around to eat. When asked how the meal was we said it was disappointing and were shocked at what we were served.
The Barman said the waitress would have told us it was Coley. She definitely didn’t but he insisted she did. He must have super hearing as he was behind the bar and we were miles away from him.
Unfortunately this is the last time we’ll ever visit the West County Hotel. The food and the staff in the Bar at this time have really let it down. I’m sad to see a Hotel were my family and I had so many
memories run into the ground.
- Pavel (8/5): - The property worked very well for our purpose of visiting the city of Dublin. Our stay was very comfortable, the breakfast was great, staff very pleasant, and we ended each day with a nightcap at the on-premise restaurant. Parking was free, plentiful and safe, and the bus stop was 3 mins away. The property is showing its age but we were very happy with our decision to stay here.
- Anna (10/5): - Great rooms and easy access to public transportation... excellent service
- Rena (8/5): - Great
- Nomad582012 (2/5): Bad service - I have been to this hotel today and throughout the weekend the receptionist Caitríona the waitress Caitríona and the General manager Justin are all extremely rude with an attitude problem. I would not recommend this hotel as you are not valued as a customer only disrespected.
I have also noticed when ever anyone writes a bad review no one responds however when postive responses are left they will respond which demonstrates the lack of accountability.
- Elvia (10/5): - Pleasantly surprised. Clean and nice full breakfast.
- deco2018 (10/5): A great hotel and pleasant Staff, convenient with great food - I had the pleasure of staying two nights in this hotel and will stay again if visiting Dublin, very convenient of the M50 and a quiet location with the most pleasant staff, good rooms and good food, if your going to Dublin this is the hotel for your stay.
- Kelly (10/5): - Fantastic place to stay
- Samantha (8/5): Needs a bit of updating - The hotel was clean, beds were comfortable but it does look like it is stuck in an 80's time warp
- Go801400 (2/5): Very Disgusted After over 30 years - We have been regular patrons of this hotelfor over 30 years, we have held all of our family events and meet ups here as it WAS a family friendly hotel, but recently after reserving a space at the end of the bar for meeting relatives after my daughters confirmation, we had a shock when the Manager who said he couldn't serve platters of food for our guests when booking, was disgruntled when he found out we'd been to a restaurant before coming to the hotel, decided to Enforce a rule that was always there but was never enforced the children must be off premises by 7pm, my entire family can contest that unless children were running around or being noisy we have never seen it, my daughter was the only child I'm our company and was sat between her parents. So this was a particularly spiteful decision, the manager was very unsympathetic and our quiet family accepted and left without fuss. And spent our money elsewhere and will do in future, we are a large family with may ties to the hotel, I will never cross there doorstep again.
Absolutely Digusted that this was the final memory my very upset daughter had of her confirmation.
- Sean (10/5): - Friendly staff and good service, very friendly and clean and helpful staff
- FyingKiwi (10/5): Very Pleasant - Very warmly greeted on arrival, and being a little early for check in, were absolutely happy to allow us to store our luggage while we did some sightseeing.
The room provided was large and contained a large comfortable bed as well as an additional single bed. Also had a writing desk, which was superb to work from, table, comfortable chairs and a wardrobe with plenty of space for storage.
Room also overlooked a wonderful bank of trees, giving a scenic outlook
The bathroom contained a great shower.
A wonderful guest compendium was also provided to ensure all pertinent information was provided for.
The on-site restaurant provided excellent food for reasonable prices.
Excellent free Wi-fi was also available.
- thomaskB391EP (2/5): Very Poor Management - My family have been coming here for over 30 years, however after tonight we will never step foot inside the place again.
What was once a lovely, family friendly hotel has gone downhill rapidly in the last couple of years.
We have had multiple bad experiences with the hotel, but tonight was the final straw.
We had an area reserved in the bar for my goddaughter's confirmation. We selected the venue as it is central for most of our family. However, after two rounds of drinks, at 19:15 we were asked to leave by the general manager, Justin, because we had one 12 year old child in our company (who had made her confirmation). The place was empty on a quiet Thursday evening.
When it was pointed out that the law says children are allowed until 10pm during summer months, the general manager said "well our policy is 7pm". He was extremely rude and ignorant in his manner. It was never made clear when we were making the booking. Some people had traveled for 40 minutes to get there to celebrate with family, and had to leave after one round of drinks.
We are regulars, and have seen children in the bar beyond 9pm with no issue on multiple occasions.
What was supposed to be a happy family occasion was completely ruined, my goddaughter was made to feel like it was her fault, and was visibly upset. The general manager showed no compassion or empathy.
The new general manager will run the place into the ground. There are multiple reviews regarding the general managers manner being very poor, and there is no smoke without fire. They missed out on all of our custom tonight, and all future custom too.
- J6853IHsarahk (2/5): Avoid, enjoy somewhere else in Chapelizod - Do yourself a favour and avoid this hotel.... The manager ruined a family celebration. The policy of no children after 7pm is ridiculous during the summer months and was never enforced previously. He picks and chooses who he wants it to apply to.
The law in Ireland is no children(under the age of 15) on a bar premises after 9pm. 10pm during May- September.
Do yourself a favour and go to a different place in Chapelizod.
- ScubaDave16 (6/5): clean comfortable room. - This was our first stop on our 2 week trip to Ireland and Scotland.
The hotel is not anywhere near downtown (or any tourist areas for that matter), but there is a bus stop right across the street which is way better than trying to park in downtown Dublin.
The room was small with somewhat dated decor. It appeared clean.
there was no air conditioning, but a large window did open a bit. the window overlooked a wall of trees which was pleasant.
the bed was rather soft for my back, but had clean linens.
the bathroom was tiny, but clean. I am 6'4 and could barely fit in the shower.
The room had a rather large wardrobe cabinet, but since I rarely unpack, I would much rather have had more floor space for suitcases.
The room had a medium size TV, but very few good channels.
room lighting was average
The room had a couple electrical outlets by the bed as well as reading lights.
staff was quite pleasant and helped us figure out which bus to get to town.
There is a restaurant and bar on the premises.
we had breakfast included in our package. The breakfast was a combination of buffet items and a hot Irish breakfast. the food was quite good.
overall the hotel was fine for our needs.
- BrianO923 (10/5): Gets better and better - I’m from Dublin but I don’t live there anymore but every time I visit I try and stay at the West County Hotel.
From start to finish the hotel always gets 10/10 from me. Staff, rooms, bar, food, cleanliness every area of the hotel is just perfect.
Hotel is in a great location for visiting Dublin and with free car parking you can’t go wrong. Minutes from airport, Liffey valley shopping centre, Phoenix Park and with a bus stop across the road, city centre is just 15 minutes away on the bus.
If your looking at this hotel,
Don’t hesitate to book it. No hotel comes like to the personal service you’ll receive at The West County.
Thank you guys for another great stay.
See you again soon.
- Kvetuse (8/5): - Rooms and staff excellent, had problems with water pressure.
- Q4911XCstuartm (4/5): work man lodge - the picture look great until you get their. I would class it as an inn or a work men's lodgings. had the carvery it was like cattle yard, low- average quality food half the bar taps were not operating. the hotel was dated and carvery smell stank the whole hotel. room! the bathroom had a cracked sink, stained bath, and a toilet you needed a shoe horn to get in or off very tight between wall and shower. dust on the top cupboard and decorative light runner, room had no blind so was like being in a gold fish bowl did have curtains which the backs were torn. the check in girl and breakfast severing lady and maid were the saving grace. its such a same as the place has so much going for it location, decent view and the planting in the car park area caught my eye,
- Stuart (6/5): Mediocre - The hotel itself is quite tired, although the room had a nice modern bathroom. Unfortunately the shower waste was blocked so when I showered in the morning the tray overflowed into the room. I reported to reception and when I returned in the evening I could see someone had looked at the trap although the following morning on showering the room flooded again. All the staff were extremely pleasant and helpful until I came to check out when the guy on reception said he was unable to give me a vat reciept for my incidental expenses. He was most unhelpful and said I should come back when someone was there. In the end he gave me the reciept he had used to ring up my bill which was a full vat reciept. Shame really as his attitude on check out has really tainted my view of what aside from the shower was an ok stay. Sadly I won’t be returning
- 818Andrew (10/5): Short stay - Stayed at West county hotel last weekend for short break
Ideal location for a break in Dublin
Offers good value dinner bnb for a couple at 129e which for Dublin is good
friendly staff.
Excellent service throughout
Staff genuinely interested in the customer service.
Have stayed on numerous occasion and highly recommend it
- BanzaiClepton (6/5): Quiet hotel with decent food - A short walk to Chapelizod village and Phoenix Park it is well outside the city but with the 26 bus stopping outside that is not a problem.
Check in and out was pleasant and quick. Room was fine but double bed was tiny. Bathroom also quite compact but fine with a decent shower.
We had an evening meal in the bar. Some issues with the service. One guy was excellent but when he went on a break the level dropped a bit. Seems to be getting more common but if you have table service then keep an eye on your guests and approach them now and again to see if they need anything rather than standing around havingvthe chats.
Food was good but we ordered wings as a starter and they were brought at the same time as the mains without explanation and we did not request this. Wife had steak sandwich which was well packed and very good. I had buttermilk chicken which was dry and overdone but helped by the burger being well dressed.
Breakfast had a choice of full, mini or veggie cooked breakfast and then a very small buffet offering. The full has more different items than the mini but you get 2 sausages and 2 bacon with the mini and only 1 of each with the full. Was tasty enough but buffet part was really small.
- derham01273 (10/5): Excellent hotel - I should have written this review a long time ago as this hotel does what it says on the tin.
I have stayed at this charming hotel on numerous occasions when visiting my dying mother who was in the nursing home across the road from the hotel. On every stay, I didn't pre book but arrived as a "walk in". Each and every stay the staff were always friendly and professional. They all have a "can do" working ethics.
The room was spacious and everything was clean and well laid out. The beds are so comfortable you will get a wonderful sleep guaranteed. There was absolutely no noise from outside and inside the hotel.
I am a hotel manager myself so I can base this hotel review on my own high standards. I would highly recommend this hotel for both business and pleasure. Thank you to everyone for all my very pleasant and comfortable stays.
- sdijji (10/5): The hospitality - Pleasant hotel right off of the bus line which I highly recommend using rather than paying high dollar for a bolt or Uber. Loved that it was away from the action of city center. Quaint old world charm. Only stayed one night but it was well worth it.
- Peuh Cheng (10/5): - Property was clean even though it is an older style property . The location is close to bus transport to the city . The staff was friendly and helpful . The shower may be a bit smaller but food quality was great .
- Carole (4/5): - This is an old building. Our room smelled like grease from the diner in the building. Window was left open and there was a wasp in our room. Bathroom was tiny. Old, out-dated decor. Elevator was old and felt unsafe.
- Rhea (8/5): - Comfortable room and wonderful breakfast included.
- Effie (6/5): - Like most properties around S Ireland, there is no street number. Fortunately this hotel had a direction sign on the main road, otherwise we would have missed the turn off.
Room was spacious though old fashioned. Breakfast was good & check out was quick.
- John (8/5): - Comfortable pillows and bed, room very 70s retro but clean, did not like having to use the skeleton key to lock/unlock. Cool at first but became cumbersome. Elevator very cool though.
- Tania (8/5): - PROS: Free parking, good diner, great customer service.
CONS: Anyone could see inside your room through the door keyhole.
Hotel is 20-minute car ride from Dublin city center.
- Mark (10/5): Just perfect - The West County Hotel is close to bus stop that runs you into town.(15 min max ) The staff at the hotel are very friendly and helpful with all your requirements. Breakfast was excellent. Highly recommend the West County.
- LUCILE (10/5): - Clean and quiet, great breakfast and easy to get access to. Large room and bathroom.
Short distance from airport was a plus for us on our way to visit the island.
- Valarie (10/5): - Nice rooms. Big pub area. Great breakfast included
- Brendan (10/5): Irish Hospitality at it's finest - When I first pulled up at the hotel I was disappointed by the appearance and was dreading what we would find inside, I was pleasantly surprised as although slightly dated the hotel was full of character and charm and very well kept.
Every single member of staff was amazing and they couldn't do enough to make our stay enjoyable, from help with our plans, booking taxis, giving us a toothbrush for a forgetful member of the family, or just being attentive and welcoming. Justin and the his entire team are a real credit to the hotel, to Dublin and to Ireland, thank you so much for making us feel so very welcome and making our stay a memory to last a lifetime.
- raymond (6/5): - $50.00 dollar cab to the airport. Ads make it look like a nice hotel because it's expensive and it's old, outdated, no a/c. out of the way area, not as advertised
- Nicole (8/5): - Easy access to downtown via bus or taxi. Nice facilities with good breakfast and an easy lunch and dinner for connivence.
- Meghan (10/5): - Friendly staff! Great bar! Great community!
- Stuart (6/5): - Fairly basic hotel but really helpful staff. Easy bus ride into Dublin.
- Patrick (8/5): OK near Dublin - There is nothing to complain about with this hotel, it's just "tired" all around. But everything works, and the staff is friendly. Needs a major renovation, that's all.
- Erich (6/5): - Not many Cafe and Restaurants within walking distance. Elevator was quite old and the decor was tired and dated.
- Michelle (10/5): A comfortable and easy stay. - We selected this hotel because we didn’t want to stay in the city centre of Dublin. Location is only 10-15 minutes by bus from Trinity College and the bus stop is across the road from the hotel. Huge car park if you have your own car. The hotel is dated but very clean and comfortable. We had breakfast each day - good variety and value for money. The bar downstairs does lunch and dinner and all meals were good. Reception staff were helpful and informative.
- Shefik (6/5): - This was definitely a 3-star hotel. The staff appeared to be rushed off their feet, so did not have enough time for their guests. We had the worst fish and chips ever in their bar area. The hotel looked old and in need of a lot of TLC. The shower was accumulating water and not draining it quickly enough. Breakfast was ok, but not up to expectations. On the positive side, there was plenty of room to park the car and they obliged when we asked for fans, as it was very hot in the rooms. I couldn't in all honesty recommend it to anyone.
- Darragh (8/5): - This hotel was excellent for the price. Compared to other Dublin hotels it is excellent value for money. Old fashioned but still more than functional. Only complaint to note is the heat, incredibly warm bedrooms
- Darsie (10/5): - Nice, clean, and friendly staff. The breakfast was delicious!
- Gerard (10/5): - Good for motorists
- Raphael (8/5): - Good value for money, friendly staff
- Edward (4/5): - The coffee cold at breakfast and the service was miserable at breakfast.
- David (10/5): - Had a great 2 night stay, there was ample parking, the rooms were very clean and tidy, and the staff were fantastic, I will definitely stay here again
- Verified traveler (8/5): - This is an older hotel but kept up nicely. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Very nice restaurant and morning breakfast.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Older hotel but kept up nicely. Very friendly and helpful staff. Restaurant and morning breakfast was very good. It was nice not having to pay each day for parking. Easy access to main thoroughfare.
- Karen (10/5): - Motorcycle friendly
- John (8/5): - The hotel is out of town, but convenient for yravel and a peaceful night. Food is great.
- Tim (10/5): - Very clean and a good value! Great restaurant with hotel.
- Michael (6/5): - The price was good, didn’t realize that there was no air conditioning plus the bathroom was extremely small. I am medium sized but my friend is not and shower was super small glass enclosed plus’s toilet seat , you had hardly no room. The location was very good and the bus 26 is right across the street take you into Dublin Centre. Breakfast was good as well, staff was
Courteous. I
Liked the medium firm beds but my friend didn’t. I would rate this hotel a 6 and that was because the rate was $150 a night. Also not much TV channels at all on TV if you want to chill and watch tv in room and relax at night
- Amanda (10/5): - Close to the airport and city sites. Easy parking. Comfortable beds. Warm showers. On-site restaurant delicious. Staff was very friendly.
- Rhonda (10/5): - Friendly helpful staff.
Would have enjoyed an outdoor space
- Dale (10/5): - Great place to stay outside of the main city of Dublin. Very friendly staff and bartenders
Would recommend to anyone that does not want to be in the heart of the city
- Matthew (10/5): - The staff is excellent, restaurant and pub in hotel, showers a little tight, excellent parking, clean and tidy, comfy beds, quiet area
- Isabelle (6/5): Was fine for what we needed. - No lock for bathroom door and had to keep finger on switch to boil the kettle and most tv channels not working. Other than that it was fine and perfectly located near Phoenix park.
- Mikaela (10/5): - West County is a quaint hotel and very welcoming. I would definitely be back!
- Mike (6/5): - Staff and cleanliness were very good but building and rooms fairly dated and tired.
- Robert (8/5): Good value hotel - Good value hotel. Facilities are a little dated but everything is clean and in good condition. Friendly and helpful staff. Good bar food.
