- 946karlj (10/5): Incredibly Lovely Amazing Faena - I just spent two days in Buenos Aires for work and stayed at the Faena Hotel. What an incredible experience. From the moment I arrived, the check-in was warm, attentive, and professional. The service throughout the stay was excellent, especially the room service, which was impressively fast. The hotel itself is unique and simply stunning. The atmosphere is one of a kind, and the decoration is always bold, artistic, and impactful — every corner feels special. Highlights: • The sambayón (zambayón) ice cream is an absolute must-try. • The gym is by far the best-equipped in the Puerto Madero area. I’ve stayed at several nearby hotels, and none come close. • If you have time, book a massage at the spa — it’s fantastic. For dining, my favorite was El Mercado. The rocket (arugula) salad, entraña or lomo, and the pavlova for dessert make the perfect meal. It’s truly a recipe for heaven! The location in Puerto Madero is excellent — safe, beautiful, and perfect for pleasant walks. Overall, the Faena delivers a memorable, high-end experience with exceptional service, unique design, and great comfort. Perfect for both business and leisure trips. Highly recommended!

- Günther (6/5): - At first glance, Faena Hotel Buenos Aires feels quite unique and stylish — you can clearly see Philippe Starck’s influence in the design. It definitely has character and creates a special atmosphere. However, you can also notice that the property is starting to show its age. The rooms, wardrobes, and several areas feel somewhat outdated and could benefit from renovation. The tango show was excellent and one of the highlights of our stay. Since it was our first tango show, we really enjoyed the experience. The pool area is nice, especially when the sun is out. The bar area is fine, while the sauna feels quite old and no longer matches the standard of the rest of the hotel. What really disappointed me, however, was the lack of flexibility regarding our booking. We had booked through Booking.com and extended our stay by two nights because our flight was originally cancelled. When the flight was suddenly confirmed again, we wanted to shorten our stay by one night one day in advance. This was handled with absolutely no flexibility, even though we had already explained upon arrival that our return flight situation was uncertain and could change at short notice. For a hotel of this category, I would have expected much more understanding and goodwill in this situation.
- ottod763 (10/5): A perfect stylish hotel in Buones Aires with professional and friendly service - We stayed 2 nights in March 2026 at the FAENA Hotel before our 3 weeks cruise back to Europe. The hotel is perfect centrally located at the stylish modern Porto Madero. Our whole stay was amazing and we felt the professional hospitality and the positiv spirit of the staff. Friendly personal service at the reception, spa, bar and restaurants. The style of this hotel was great and we enjoyed the whole stay. We had a fine lunch and 2 dinner at both restaurants in the hotel. (Restaurant el Mercado and the elegant stylish Italpast). The nice room was functional, elegant, cosy and stylish. The breakfast at the hotel excellent. Already the offered hotel pre-services and reservation handling before our stay where really professional too and helpful. The hotel has organised our airport and habour car-transfers and gave us suggestions about sight seening programmes. A great concierge team. The Rojo Tango location " Il Cabaret" directly in the hotel, was really great for our final evening with a fantastic professional tango show in a elegant setting with fine wines and excellent friendly service. As experienced travellers and we can really recommend this elegant hotel in Buones Aires.

Only negative was the build quality within the room and the wear on furniture in the lounge. The room was a two floor retro style that looked better in pictures than in reality. It was nice, but not 5 star. The furniture must be original from the hotels opening in the lounge. Cool and great style, but now needs a refresh because of wear.

- Road67534284695 (10/5): A Dramatic, Memorable Stay in Puerto Madero - I had a really lovely stay at Faena Buenos Aires. From the moment you arrive, the hotel makes an impression, the dramatic entrance and signature red and black design feel almost like stepping into a theatrical, almost medieval setting, balanced by the light and openness of the pool area. The check-in experience was warm and thorough, and the team did a great job walking me through all of the amenities. While the hotel was at capacity and an upgrade wasn’t possible, they placed me in one of the best rooms within my booked category, which I appreciated. My room overlooked the pool and had great natural light, which made the space feel brighter and more relaxed than I expected for Faena’s signature style. The service throughout my stay was a highlight. The bellman took the time to walk me through the room and offered thoughtful suggestions, and the team overall was consistently kind and attentive. I was also welcomed with a lovely amenity of wine and a handwritten note, which was a really nice touch. A special thank you to Denise, who arranged for me to attend the tango show, which was truly a standout experience. Sitting on stage with the musicians made it feel incredibly intimate and memorable. The included dinner was lovely, and while I didn’t have much time to fully enjoy it before the show, the quality of the food was excellent. The bed was also very comfortable, which is always appreciated after a full day exploring. The location in Puerto Madero is ideal if you enjoy a quieter, more polished area with great restaurants along the water, though it does feel a bit separate from other neighborhoods like San Telmo and Palermo. A couple of small notes, the room could benefit from a light refresh in certain areas, and there was a bit of noise at times, though it was hard to pinpoint the source. Overall, Faena delivers a unique and memorable stay with standout design, strong service, and a one-of-a-kind atmosphere. - EricL627 (10/5): A classic hotel and a great stay - I loved my stay at Faena. This is a different kind of 5 star hotel, but 5 stars nonetheless. The building is a stunning repurposing of a grain mill from the early 20th Century. The entire hotel is a tribute to classic Argentinian style and design - kind of like a theme hotel (but elegant, not at all corny). There are a few things that are a bit rough around the edges that you might not see at other 5 star properties, but these differences fit in well with the classic design and rustic nature of the original building. Service was excellent, and the restaurants are very good. A fantastic heated pool. I would stay again with no hesitation.

The hotel and the experience managers are all top notch the way the hotel is designed you ended up having more interactions with staff and everyone of them is kind and helpful. It really is a special place and a fun hotel. Wish I was still there.

- xiaoyan (3/5): 体验很差！安排的房间潮湿霉味很重，换了小房间却按照原订的大房收钱，非常不合理！ - 我们在这里预订了一间55平方的套房。酒店安排的房间位于地下一楼，房间很潮湿且霉味很重，我们无法忍受要求换房，前台说没有同等的房，给我们换到二楼35平方的房，第二天说有一间复式房腾出来，问我们要不要换？我们去看了，房间两层，狭窄拐弯的楼梯没有扶手，很不安全，我们都是70岁老人怕摔跤，因此没有换房，一直在35平方的小房住了6晚。到了退房结账时候，酒店竟然按我们预订的55平方的价钱结账！说是给我们安排了复式房我们不去，是我们同意住小房间。这是什么强盗逻辑！我们换房不是无理取闹，是你的房间潮湿充满霉味，明明住的35平方，却要按55平方收钱！太可恶！必须给差评！ 住35平方小房间，按55平方套房收钱，非常不合理！

We got upgraded which was a complete surprise so our room was absolutely stunning with so much space, the most comfortable bed and such a beautiful bathroom. Staff were so welcoming and friendly and the hotel itself was so wonderful. I would 100% come back again!

Truly the best - from the nightlife, the dining, the spa, the pool and the Rojo Tango- I absolutely fell in love. The rooms are well done and very comfortable...the beds are amazing, I slept like a dream. I cannot speak more highly of their guest experience team- Diana, Melissa, Nicholas, Valentin and truly everyone I encountered, so wonderful, all are so friendly and fully of heart. I had a tour guide on my second day- "Super Mario" recommended by the incredible guest experience team and packed so much into 3 hours. He was absolutely wonderful. I cannot wait to return some day for a longer stay in this beautiful city and know Faena will be my forever home in Buenos Aires.

From the moment we walked into my beautiful eclectic room, we were impressed by the spacious layout and the incredible attention to detail — every element felt carefully curated with exceptional taste. The thoughtful Argentinian amenities, refreshed daily, added such a special local touch that made the experience feel truly unique. Alfajores were to die for !!! We had the pleasure of trying both restaurants as well as the Living Room lounge, and everything — from the cuisine to the service — was outstanding. Spa was beautiful and well maintained The true highlight of the stay was the Tango show. The passion, music, and sheer talent of the performers and entire team created an atmosphere that was simply magical — an absolute must-see. If you are in Buenos Aires it must be on your list !!! What made this stay especially memorable, however, was the staff. Every single person — from the porter and concierge to the front desk, restaurant team, and sommelier — was incredibly well-trained, warm, polite, and genuinely passionate about what they do. - Netherlands (4/5): Very arrogant hotel and certainly not 5 stars !!! - We stayed Here one night after a long flight. The hotel has a speciale vibe if you like it or not. The swimmingpool Area is really Nice and also the restaurant el mercado is worth a visit. The thing that botters us the most is the attitude of certain staff members. There is a kind of arrogance over them which we haven t encounter before in a hotel of this level. We arrived early and had to wait for our room was ready so we stayed at the pool but their pool service was not open untill 10 o clock ! The strange part is that there were 2 people working behind the bar were not helping us to find Some water. Also the rooms our room was a loft had a dirty fridge in the outside and the lamp above our bed was dirty the couch was worn out. But the biggest concern was the next day when we wanted a coffee before leaving. My wife was sent away by a an extreem arrogant young boy working in the library loung while the coffee machine was already on. We wanted to give our welcome voucher but it was 09:30 hours and we all know nothing happens untill 10 O clock. I went to the reception asking if they could give us a cup of coffee but they were absolutely not helpful. 2 persons walked to the library loung boy with our voucher and didn’t t give us an eye. The boy brought us the coffee with a face……… nobody came to ask if all was oké now. We would never stay here again after we went to the Alvear palace. Ohhhh boy what a big difference in service it was real 5 star.

- Rafael (5/5): Poderia ser bem melhor… - A localização do hotel é estratégica e excelente… A cordialidade e atenção de alguns funcionários como o Rodrigo e Bruno na recepção e, o Tomas no bar da piscina, é digna de reconhecimento. Durante minha estadia, vivenciei uma série de situações extremamente desconfortáveis, que geraram indignação e sensação de insegurança, absolutamente incompatíveis com o padrão mínimo esperado de um hotel. Inicialmente, tivemos um problema com a chave do quarto, que deixou de funcionar no início da tarde. Ficamos retidos por algum tempo até que um funcionário da manutenção conseguisse resolver a situação. Mais grave, contudo, foi o episódio ocorrido posteriormente. Um funcionário do hotel bateu à porta para entregar uma mala. Ao informarmos que não se tratava do nosso quarto, ele se desculpou e foi embora. Pouco tempo depois, o mesmo funcionário retornou, bateu novamente e, sem aguardar autorização para entrar, simplesmente adentrou o quarto, perguntando se havia alguma “caixa” ou “caixinha”. Essa conduta é absolutamente inadequada e inaceitável. No momento, minha esposa estava no banheiro se preparando, o que agravou ainda mais a sensação de invasão de privacidade e insegurança. Um funcionário não pode, em hipótese alguma, entrar em um quarto ocupado sem autorização expressa do hóspede. Além disso, o atendimento de alguns funcionários, que aparentavam deliberadamente não compreender o idioma, contribuiu para a confusão e para o sentimento de descaso. Para completar, houve ainda um episódio constrangedor na área da piscina. Um funcionário simplesmente “arrancou” a toalha das costas da minha esposa, que estava com frio e apenas pretendia ir até o quarto utilizando a toalha, especialmente porque a área de acesso possui ar-condicionado bastante frio. A atitude foi rude, desnecessária e desrespeitosa, expondo-a a uma situação de constrangimento totalmente evitável. O conjunto desses episódios foi extremamente desagradável e comprometeu seriamente a nossa experiência no hotel. Esperamos providências claras por parte da administração, pois situações dessa natureza não podem ser tratadas como normais

We loved our brief stay at the hotel and enjoyed a fabulous dinner at El Mercado followed by the Rojo Tango show, which was very entertaining! We were also impressed with the gym, spa facilities, and the stunning pool area.

- Mcruss4 (10/5): outstanding staff and hotel - The location is walking distance to the canal where there are loads of shops and places to eat, and a 5 min Uber to the Ferry port. The staff is one of the most welcoming and friendly I have encountered. The rooms are large, and fine (the bed is comfortable). I also recommend planning to eat at the hotel as they woodfire grill their food daily. the freshness and care taken to prepare everything from start to finish is exemplary.

- JamesW9 (6/5): Style over substance - Stayed during our trip to BA. Booked a skyline room. There is nothing skyline about it. My view was over the back of the hotel on the 2nd floor. Called to try and speak to the concierge to arrange a transfer from the airport. Was told that I couldn’t speak to them but I had to send an email. Sent email took forever to get a reply. The room was old and tired. The layout was odd with a bed stuck in the middle of the room and a white leather chair. It just didn’t work. The bar was nice and they offered us a welcome drink which was the highlight of our stay there. I wouldn’t go back or recommend it. May have been good in its day but that day has long gone.

- Martin Gutierrez (7/5): Despite the team’s genuine efforts, wear and inconsistent service compromised the luxury experience. - The staff was extremely attentive and genuinely made an effort to ensure our stay went smoothly despite some issues. In particular, Melisa was outstanding, always available, proactive, and very supportive throughout our stay. The hotel’s location and overall atmosphere are still strong points. The hotel feels tired and shows visible signs of wear and maintenance needs. Small details, which should not happen in a five-star property, impacted the experience: no complimentary water and no welcome amenity in the room, turndown service taking too long, and even a vacuum cleaner left for hours outside a room door with no one taking responsibility for removing it. Service also felt inconsistent - for example, on sunny days with a full pool, there were very few staff members to handle the demand. The gym is clearly outdated (water dispenser without cups and no cleaning supplies available for the equipment). Overall, the expected level of attention and the value proposition for this category were not fully delivered

- bobbih827 (6/5): Unique Property whose time has come. - This is a unique place whose time has come. The velvet curtains and multitude of mirrors do not interest the bulk of people. The dirt on the bottoms of those curtains are beyond cleaning and the ragged edges on the rugs also tell the story. The location is good and staff were nice. That is the reason I gave it a 3 otherwise it would have been a 2. This is not a 5 star property. We booked through Fine Hotels at the last minute. We were given a supposed upgrade to our room that was initially facing the park to one with more space facing the pool. It was obvious upon our arrival that there was a private event happening in the main bar lounge area next to the pool. Needless to say we got no sleep as the party went on for well into the night. The party is fine, it is the knowledge of the staff to make us feel like they were upgrading us but put us in the worst place. In addition they gave us free welcome drinks in the bar....of which we couldn't use due to the private event. Another staff did make it better for us the next day by allowing us a very late checkout to refresh before our late flight. This property probably was extravagant many years ago. It is not anymore. Time is up. It's not for everyone.

The pool area was beautifully relaxing. The food in all of the restaurants was exquisite, especially the pasta at the Italian restaurant. I would absolutely stay there again.

We were there during the summer season and the pool was really nice to have. Delfina gave the most incredible recommendations upon check-in for restaurants and things to do. She took time to cater it specifically to our interest and preferences for restaurants, bars, etc.. Mercado restaurant on property is quite honestly the best steak in the city.

From the moment you walk in, it feels like a truly special place. I initially stayed for three nights, then left Buenos Aires briefly, only to return for an additional six nights that spanned New Year’s Eve. I also attended their New Year’s Eve party, which was spectacular and perfectly executed. What truly set this stay apart, however, was the Member Experience team. Nicolas, Valentin, Diana, and Pablo were outstanding and genuinely went above and beyond at every turn. They handled everything seamlessly, from laundry and dinner reservations to coordinating tours and even helping me find a dentist. No request was too big or too small, and everything was done with warmth, efficiency, and professionalism. To top it all off, they upgraded my room and were incredibly accommodating throughout my entire stay. The level of personalized service made me feel truly valued as a guest. Faena Buenos Aires is a world-class hotel with world-class people. I cannot recommend it highly enough and would absolutely stay here again.

- ingawsf (6/5): Not five stars but a cool vibe - This hotel has a cool vibe, but not luxury or five star in service or accommodations. It's not in a lively neighborhood, so don't expect a lot of people there. We had a huge suite with two bathrooms, a full living room, and a nice bar area. The bed was neither comfortable or luxury, and it squeaked. The shower was tiny, and no bench to shave your legs. The decor was cheap, the drapes were hard to move, did not fully block out, and the furniture was worn and not high-end. Compared to the one in Miami, it was very different. We did enjoy the tango show there, and the lunch restaurant was good. Breakfast was very average. The spa bathrooms very tiny, not sure about the rest of it, but the gym looked good. We did have fun at the bar with live music. The pool, while fun, was extremely warm, it was like bath water rather than being cold and refreshing.

- jeffdJ7637IN (4/5): A hotel with a good name that is actually garbage! - This place hasn’t been touched refreshed or updated since it opened 21 years ago. Everything about it is subpar. There are water stains on the ceilings in the rooms. Carpeting is also stained throughout the property. The pool is unheated. There was no assistance from anyone at the pool. It’s basically get your own towel and sit where you want and the worst part is they allow non-hotel guest to come in and use the pool taking up the premium spots before hotel guests. We had to change rooms a few hours after we checked in because our air-conditioning was not functioning and was hot as can be. Dammit, very limited selection of alcohol at their bars. We were told this is a lively property with music playing at the pool and live music playing at night during the weekend none of which was true.. The only thing this place has it’s in a good location, but there are plenty of other properties in this location. It need to complete overhaul.. Way overpriced for what it is.
- roman4soccer (6/5): A Return to Faena Hotel After 20 Years - When I last visited the Faena Hotel in Buenos Aires in 2005, I was amazed by its architecture and décor. Although I was not a guest at the hotel, I appreciated being able to walk through the property and take some photos. When I returned to Buenos Aires in November 2025 to celebrate my birthday, I knew I wanted to visit the Faena Hotel again, especially since my Argentine soccer idol, Claudio Caniggia, lives there. I hoped I might see him walking around the lobby or having a drink in the bar. After my birthday dinner at Crystal Bar, we headed to the Faena Hotel. Puerto Madero has expanded significantly over the last 20 years, and the area around the hotel was very crowded, with traffic backed up in every direction. When we tried to enter, security stopped us at first, but eventually allowed us inside. We walked through the lobby and decided to have a drink in the lobby bar. The bar was relatively empty, so we walked in to find a table. A hostess approached us immediately and asked if we were hotel guests. We explained that we were not, but we wanted to sit in the bar, enjoy the entertainment, and have a drink. She told us that only hotel guests are allowed to sit in the bar, and that if we wished to stay, we would need to sit outside in the pool area, where the temperature was a brisk 17 degrees Celsius at night. We reluctantly agreed because I was determined to relive my 2005 experience. The waiter in the pool area was very kind and attentive, which helped offset the disappointment we felt in the bar. We admired the beautiful pool while we had one drink, and then we left the hotel. Although my 2005 visit felt magical, this time I felt more like an unwelcome visitor, which affected the experience. I still enjoyed seeing the hotel’s architecture and décor again on my birthday, but it is clear that if you are not staying at the hotel, you may not receive the same level of treatment.
- Barbara (5/5): Try the Alvear Icon. - Location and pool The Room, (horrible layout), the complexity of the lights and how to use them, the 100 pound bedspread and no lighter blanket supplied even after we requested one, the food at the Italian restaurant. Who makes steak and puts it in a brick of crust? It was so dry and awful plus the tomato sauce in the seafood pasta was so sweet. Overuse of onions. I’m Italian. We never put onions in our tomato sauce. That’s what non Italians who don’t know how to cook make it. It ruined the meal. We ate dinner out the next two nights because of this and found outstanding food at half the price.

Había poco pero al. Los chicos que atendían eran muy simpáticos pero no había toallas disponibles, si pedías algo para tomar o comer tardaban un montón La ubicación de nuestra habitación en planta baja. Horrible, deberíamos haber pedido una standad/ base , que era mejor. Teníamos mucha ilusión de volver al hotel porque ahí habíamos pasado nuestra Noche de Bodas , pero no cumplió con nuestras espectativas Al personal evidentemente también le falta entrenamiento para ser más profesional, se nota la falta de capacitación.

The area surrounding is a nice break from the busy city centre. Our room overlooked the pool which was quite noisy until well after midnight

- cornelia (8/5): An interesting Hotel option if you like design - Its our second time there and we returned because its a hotel with a differentiated style and decoration . Its an interesting place to go. Lobby bar is nice. Restaurant is good Pool and Sports areas were closed due to maintenance works , we were informed shortly before arrival. No treats or any other gesture was made to compensate that. I tried to arrange a SPA session and no place was available.
