Queued at 3pm, Got seen at 5pm. - The hotel rooms are in desperate need of a refurb. For the price you pay they are very outdated & ours had a smell of mould. - The flooring around the pools is extremely dangerous, our toddler slipped and hit his head - huge bruise & swelling. No first aid available.For a family hotel this is a major issue for kids. - Outdoor little kids playground is broken & dangerous- roots of trees growing through equipment & very old. - Cocktails are like fruit juice, don’t waste your money! - manager rude, all the guests complaining and he didn’t care. I am still waiting on a refund agreed with the hotel. 2 months on and I haven’t received it. I now am taking my case to the consumers association of Singapore. Beware of this hotel!

The check in, the check out, no briefing on the property, what’s included, what’s not. Left to figure on our own. The concierge is understaffed. The check in was an absolute night mare and the check out too. I can’t attest to the cleanliness and usability of the beach given the number of oil tankers in the vicinity.

So nice having such friendly staff and they were exceptionally accommodating, allowing early check-in, late check-out and even providing welcome gift (wine/fruit and a selection of desserts) delivered to the room. Made the experience memorable. Two kids and a couple and room set up was a double sofa bed + two large singles. The large singles were very comfortable, but the sofa bed wasn't amazing! Kids definitely had the better end of the sleeping arrangement.

- hpw84 (10/5): Great family hotel - We loved this hotel and wished we could have stayed longer. It was perfect for our two night layover in Singapore en route to Australia from the UK. We had interconnecting Deluxe Seaview rooms for our family of four, booked direct with the hotel. I would recommend booking direct as not only does it guarantee the rooms interconnect with each other, but we also got a prime view on the 9th floor, rooms 971 and 973 which looked directly out over the ocean and beach. This is not a new resort but we thought it was very well maintained and our rooms had recently been refurbished. The pool areas were perfect for our 8 and 6 year old kids with water slides in a compact space where we could keep an eye on them from our sun loungers. The activities like kayaking were also great. Food was excellent both on room service and at breakfast where the buffet was vast and high quality, and it was quick to get a table even at peak time. Location couldn’t be better, you can get on the cable car directly outside the hotel which takes you across Sentosa and onto Singapore itself. The staff were all warm friendly and attentive and we felt very well looked after. We would come back here again. A particular thank you to Nur Kamaliah who helped make our stay a great one.

I would like to pass my humble and honest feedback on the following staff. Jack, Pradeep and Satpal. Jack - One of the best people i met in my life, very friendly, very focused on guest experience, and going extra mile to make sure any negative feeling can be turned to most positive with his attitude and behavior. He not only went extra mile but took care of our stay with his team of Chefs like Pradeep and Satpal, as memorable stay. IF this review reaches to management of Shang-ri La, i would like to say to them, KEEP this team, and do whatever you can to raise praise them. They do deserve the Kudos. Peas in the restaurant (Silver Shell Cafe). I didnt like Green Peas , they did not taste fresh. Thats all. I recommend the team to find better quality, because Peas are healthy and they taste good and makes day great if they are fresh.

- EmmaD243 (10/5): A wonderful hotel for kids - The Shangri- La Sentosa is a wonderful hotel and definitely a stand out if you’re traveling with kids. The pool is wonderful with slides and splash areas, and staying here also gives you free access into the ‘kids beach club’ on Sentosa. We stayed in one of the ocean view corner suites and it was huge, so much room and a beautiful balcony that we dined frequently on. The beds were extremely comfortable and the block out blinds were great (a must when you’re traveling with kids). Sentosa is the place to stay if you are on a family holiday as there are so many activities from Universal Studios to the Luge to Kidtopia to the glass cable car. The buffet breakfast was huge with heaps of options, unfortunately no matcha but other than that we could not fault it. Overall a wonderful stay if you’re traveling as a family.

For people who want to avoid constipation and feral children you’ll have to go back to the buffet or elsewhere for better options. The staff at the pool bar may be electrolyte deficient because they never ever once got an order correct…not even “a glass of just ice please”. I couldn’t face ordering there again after I repeated my order 5 times and pointed to what I wanted & still wasn’t right.

- tiny_tumor (10/5): Wish we could have stayed longer - Prior to booking our stay in this hotel, we read a few reviews saying that the hotel is quite old and dated. We found it to be untrue. Upon arrival, we were greeted warmly by the staff. The check in process was delayed but we were advised to explore the island and I received a WhatsApp message once the room was ready, which was convenient for us. We were offered a room upgrade to the Panorama Suite. The room far exceeded our expectations and we were very happy with the facilities. During check in, we were told there were fun activities the kids could participate in, however when we made an enquiry at the kids club, the staff did not know about it. Perhaps there could be a clearer communication between the service staff for the activities organised for the children and the kids club personnel, or maybe the information could be conveyed clearly to us at the concierge/front desk so we didn't have to actively seek out the staff in charge to find out the details. Other than that, the buffet spread was excellent. The kids zone could be improved further with more food options. All in all, despite the shortcomings, we were generally happy with our stay and will definitely be back again.
- sic516 (2/5): Poor service, poor staff and failing guests while living off the iconic name… - We are currently on day 2 of four at this place. We have visited here following a longer holiday in Koh Samui and Phuket. When we arrived, we were supposed to check-in at 3pm, we didn’t get our room until nearer 6pm. They tried to make the situation better by offering us a free meal and drinks in the hotel on any night. We decided to take them up on this today, and wished we hadn’t bothered. Upon approaching the restaurant and explaining the situation, I was told that my daughter’s drinks would have to be half price not free. I explained the situation, and aside from being made to feel like freeloaders (this was their offer to us!) we were sat down. I was then approached by the same guy about 10 minutes later and he said apologies, all sorted, he’d checked it out with reception and all was good. At this point our appetite had gone and so had our interest but we chose food and I ordered drinks, 1x Diet Coke, 1x pineapple juice and 1x Tiger beer on draught (also free). When I then went to order two more drinks (the last we were going to order, btw), ‘Ann’ told us “yeah but I’ll have to charge you for them”, so I told her they’re all free and I wasn’t going to explain it again. When the drinks came it was a poured, smaller coke, and a bottle beer. This infuriated me. It wasn’t the fact they were smaller, it was the inference that they werent allowing us to have the ‘bigger’ drinks. I went and spoke to ‘Ann’ and Kumar her manager came over and explained everything was free, all we can eat and drink and he apologised, saying there maybe confusion amongst the team. At this point we were defaulted and frankly annoyed, Kumar brought around a full pint as a further apology but this was left out of principle. This whole situation irked me, THEY offered us this apology meal and drinks and made us feel tiny and embarrassed to be there. I went up and told reception after the event and that I wanted it on record, but it fell on deaf ears, no interest shown. With two days left, we’re counting down the hours before we can go. The staff are slow, ineffective and lacklustre and they pay SO much more attention to their conference guests. What should be an iconic name within the hotel industry is being tarnished by poor service, and poor attitude. There are plenty of other hotels to choose from so shop around when it comes to Singapore - don’t rely on their name, it’ll lead to disappointment.

- Naz (4/5): - The location of the hotel. Great pools and stunning beach. I booked for 3 adults and received a 2 twin beds and a baby cot for the 3rd adult. I booked sea facing and received a room on the 6th floor that looked right into the trees 🌳 🌲 🌴.
