One-Bedroom Apartment
We have 6 apartments in a separate building, located 66 feet from the Hotel and has a swimming pool on the roof of the building, shared between the 6 aparments and has magnificent views of the Gothic Cathedral. The aparment has 1 bedroom with 1 double or 2 single beds and a living-dining room with a double sofa bed. There is a fully equipped kitchenette. The bathroom includes a rain shower, hairdryer and free toiletries. A daily cleaning service is provided.

Plus, the hotel arranged a guide who was excellent. The restaurant was dark .. like really dark.

It did not feel like a five star hotel and for the price I would have expected better details; there were broken tiles, sloppy paint jobs, the towel hooks were right above the toilet and trash can. The shampoo and shower gel were in big pots with a cork that you had to either dump out onto your hand or body, and I doubt they change the cork each time, was definitely not hygienic. Also when I asked the front desk to order me a taxi for an early morning pick up I got some attitude and heard him complaining saying “taxi taxi taxi” while I was still in the lobby. They also don’t serve you anything on the rooftop and there was bird poop in the pools. They also had the wrong person’s name in the note that greets you in your room, as well as a bottle of wine, but neither of us drink and it would have been nice to have other options. For the price, it’s small details like that that you come to expect. I should note that we stayed in the apartment, which is more expensive than the hotel rooms.

I would specifically like to call out Tomas whose energy and joy is contagious. It is not super easy to find the way through the maze of gothic paths, but he arranged a meeting point and guided us to and from when we had luggage in toe. He greeted me by name every day and felt like a friend by the time we left. Our server for breakfast each morning was also worth mentioning. Deep was gracious, elegant, and attentive to detail. I would absolutely stay here again.

Try to secure a room looking out onto the square for more light and add their delicious breakfast to your stay to fuel all the walking you'll be doing.

It is right in the middle of the ancient part of Barcelona, convenient to everything, loaded with charm and a warm, helpful staff. The restaurant is lovely. We ate there for breakfast and dinner. But that's exactly the point. You're right in the middle of the Gothic Quarter, which means the Cathedral, great restaurants, Las Ramblas — all of it is literally around the corner, yet somehow the streets surrounding the hotel are peaceful enough that you actually sleep. The buildings themselves date back to the 12th century, and you feel it in the best possible way — thick stone walls, hidden courtyards, the kind of bones that no new-build can fake. What really sets Neri apart, though, is the staff — they remember your name, they anticipate what you need, and they treat every guest like the visit actually matters to them. If you're planning a trip to Barcelona, stay here — you'll spend the whole flight home already plotting how to come back.

The location couldn’t be better, in the middle of the Gothic Quarter. The room was simple, but comfortable and very clean. The best part though was the breakfast. I’d say it was the best breakfast we’ve ever had in a hotel. Maybe a little on the big side, but a great selection of food and great quality. Why I didn’t give it a full 5 stars was that the attention the breakfast staff gave was lacking. We spent over 5 minutes trying to get their attention for another coffee, while one of them was scrolling on their phone. For a hotel of that standard, we’d expect better. Whilst frustrated, it didn’t ruin what was a wonderful stay. Thanks for a wonderful experience, other than the scrolling!!

Hotel Neri has exceptional staff; they were so accommodating and anything we needed, they were able to provide. The Hotel provided a complimentary breakfast every am which was delicious. It is also off a quiet street with great restaurants nearby you just walk too. Please arrange your transportation through them. It is much easier and there will not be any issues. I hope you choose Hotel Neri for your stay. You will love it!

It's a wonderful hotel, perfectly situated within walking distance of the Ramblas and the Liceu Metro stop. What's great is that it's just far enough from the main thoroughfare to offer a quiet and peaceful atmosphere at night. The hotel itself is very attractive, the rooms are comfortable, the restaurant serves good food, and the staff are exceptionally warm and friendly.

Our flat was spacious, the bed was super comfy and the shower worked and was hot (these are my key things!). Breakfast was made to order and was absolutely delicious (the poached eggs were the best). Even good on room service (no extra charge for that either). Neri is in the best location in the Gothic quarter and the staff are great - highly recommend.

I highly recommend Hotel Neri to anyone visiting Barcelona.

- nlongfors (4/5): Not worth it - Room: Booked an apartment and asked for twin beds. Housekeeping had to come to separate the beds because the bedskirt was one piece and had to be cut in order to physically separate the beds. The apartment was clean and had a mini kitchen with a coffee maker, fridge, and dishwasher. The bathroom amenities are in jars with cork lids (we did not use as others would have been digging in the jars 😬). Bathroom window was full length and had no noise reduction (we closed the shower door to reduce noise from below). Service: DO NOT USE THE TRANSFER SERVICE. We booked the recommended transfer service because it claimed taxis couldn’t get to the front door. What a joke. The transfer service stopped at a square, and our luggage had to be carried to the hotel in the rain (same with the transfer from the hotel). Taxis actually can stop in front of the front door to the hotel. No staff member was helpful or made a positive impression. Location: Located in the gothic area. Very close proximity to the Barcelona cathedral and the bridge. Other: There is a laundromat nearby where you can drop off clothes and pick up same day. We had 2 grocery-sized bags of clothes and cost 22€. (Much better than the 4€ for one pair of underwear at the hotel!) UPDATE: We gave Thomas postcards to mail and as of a month later none have been received. (The review was edited as he is not dependable either.)

- SBH1958 (10/5): Calm oasis in a busy city - We have just spent 3 nights in the wonderful Hotel Neri. The hotel is centrally located in the Gothic Quarter but it is so peaceful. From the moment we arrived the staff could not be more friendly and helpful. A special mention goes to Tomas, the doorman and Mauro and Ioann on reception. They went above and beyond to make our stay special including recommending restaurants and organising taxis. We had a deluxe room overlooking the square which was spacious and very comfortable. Breakfast was included in our stay and Dani, the waiter, was also friendly and efficient. We would not hesitate to recommend this Relais and Chateaux hotel to any discerning traveller.
- Departure786132 (10/5): Great location, staff and experience - The staff were really welcoming and engaging, their English was great, which was super helpful as our Spanish is terrible. They kindly rushed our check in so we were able to leave our bags in the room for the day. The room and bathroom were lovely and clean, a good temperature and comfortable bed. The toiletries were generous, the towels were soft and plump. We did stay over a carnival weekend and was woken up as one of the parades passed outside our room, it was very loud and surprising at 8am! It's a great location for walking around the Gothic Q and La Ramblas area but also only accessible on foot. The narrow streets mean gps isnt very accurate so do take note of local landmarks so as not to get turned around.

Not only does she deserve a bonus, but whomever hired her deserves one. Our room was great and comfortable. The front desk was very helpful in helping us locate a Taxi. I am grateful. Our only disappointment was that the breakfast was not commiserate with a Relais and Chateau. The cappuccino, French toast and pancakes were bland. The orange juice and breads were delicious. We have stayed here before.
- Gerbie (8/5): An AMAZING hotel, OPTIMALLY situated from where to explore Barcelona - The young gentleman who welcomed us on Monday 02 Feb early evening really set the tone for our stay with his very warm welcome, friendly manner and assistance. The reception area at Neri was so well laid out and gave a feeling of 'uniqueness'. Our self serviced apartment was so well designed providing all of the amenities, space and comfort one requires. The location was excellent allowing us to explore Barcelona with ease The shower head was far too close to the wall and the water pressure was low, both resulting in a very poor/difficult showering experience. I found the conditioner did not work very well as my hair was full of knots when I tried to brush it. Consider installing shower gel, shampoo and conditioner fixed dispensers so that so much wastage does not occur.

- J5035JUshawnc (10/5): Wonder customer service in a lovely boutique hotel - This was our first time in Barcelona and we were just looking for a single night accommodation before leaving on a cruise. We chose this hotel mostly at random with no real plan, and our only regret is that we only had one night to enjoy there! The location is perfect. It’s located in the Gothic Quarter which is beautiful: tight alleyways twisting through massive old buildings with little shops and restaurants scattered throughout. Very little traffic can pass through because of the street sizes so it’s basically blocks of walking paths which was lovely. I was a little nervous because after booking the hotel sent me an email saying that our ride from the airport would not be able to pass within several blocks of the hotel and we would need to walk, but to my pleasant surprise a hotel staff met us at our taxi with a luggage cart and cheerfully pushed our luggage 3 blocks to the hotel. And that is a prime example of the level of customer service we experienced. Every staff we encountered during our short stay went out of their way to better our trip. We didn’t leave the hotel once without someone asking where we were going and offering us suggestions and recommendations. Then when we arrived back they wanted to know what we ate and how it went. It was so friendly and personable, it made you feel like you were staying with friends rather than just a nameless customer at a big chain hotel. Room was lovely and comfortable with lots of kind touches like filtered water and local chocolates. Honestly, i have zeroed recommendations for improvement and if we get to visit Barcelona again I’ll without a doubt be booking here again.

We found the hotel online and it seemed to be a unique building in a great location. We were not disappointed! The building is in the Gothic section and easy walking to just about everything (we did take a cab to Park Guell). The included breakfast was amazing! The best part of the stay was the incredible staff. No matter who we talked to or when they were incredibly pleasant, informed and helpful. If we get a chance to go back this would definitely be our place to stay.

- 184cristinah (10/5): Hidden jewel in the heart of Barcelona - Hotel Neri is a hidden jewel, a beautiful stone structure in the heart of the most walkable part of Barcelona for tourists, the Gothic quarter. Our stay was so very lovely and practical. Upon arrival, we had an exceptional greeting by Thomas, who assisted us throughout our stay, and made our stay so very delightful with his sense of humor and graciousness. As you enter the hotel, everything is warm and inviting, yet austere and quiet. Not only Thomas, but the entire staff was very helpful with reservations, suggestions, room service, etc. We had a breakfast tray delivered to our room most mornings, which was bountiful, nourishing spread of freshly squeezed juices, breads, jams, fruits, yogurt. The bread always arrived warm and the pineapple/ginger/lime juice was the best juice I have ever had. I will be dreaming about those sips. Also had dinner one evening in the restaurant...very abundant tapas portions of the highest quality ingredients. Our room was simple yet elegant. We absolutely loved the powerful rain shower and small details such as the artisan hand soap and body wash. Our bed was dreamily comfortable and generally the roomy remained very quiet, despite overlooking a popular square. We did a ton of walking to see the city, and it was nice to have the magnificent Cathedral de Barcelona as a landmark just 2 minutes from the hotel. This was our first time to Barcelona and staying at Hotel Neri was one of the highlights. We loved the city and the people and intend to visit again in the future...and stay at Hotel Neri. Cannot recommend enough!

- 648kateb (10/5): 6 stars - My family of 4 were lucky enough to stay at Hotel Neri from 30-2nd Jan 2026. Our stay was absolutely perfect. This hotel is magical, the rooms are absolutely gorgeous (We stayed in Apartment 2) the bed and shower were both heaven. Unfortunately the sofa bed wasn’t the best but everything else made up for it. Breakfast at the hotel is quite possibly the best hotel breakfast we’ve ever had! The location is 10/10 and in the most beautiful quiet part of the gothic quarter. We must make a very special mention to our incredible concierge Thomas! Thomas you are one of a kind, the most warm, caring and attentive concierge. Nothing is too much for you and you will always go above and beyond to make sure your guests get the absolute best service. Hotel Neri is very lucky to have you. All the best, your Aussie Friends

The staff is so professional and attentive. It is in a very quiet area that was safe to walk in the evening. The room was modern with touches of historical charm, and the staff were warm and helpful. The onsite restaurant had delicious food options as well. This is exactly what I was seeking for my holiday.

The hotel is in a perfect location and the apartments have everything you need for a longer stay. The staff is remarkably helpful. We had a minor emergency that they helped us through and their flexibility on some scheduling was amazing. The restaurant is a hidden gem. While the location is central, it is surprisingly quiet. Housekeeping arrives every day and brings a small treat.

Their restaurant suggestions and local tips were for us priceless!!! Thank you Eli, Tatiana, Ivan and all the team for taking such good care of us!! The Housekeeping team were wonderful! - cdedwards2 (6/5): Ok - Our stay at Hotel Neri was average. The gentleman at the front desk was rude, which colored our whole experience. I think I would’ve had a much better overall opinion if it weren’t for his arrogance. He initially did not realize we were part of Relais and Château. He made three trips to our room and the first hour to deliver the very nice gifts from Relais and Château. After very long journey, it was quite disruptive, and after his rudeness, we were tired of the whole thing. In general, we like Relais and Château properties But would not stay in this one again.

- JillM147 (10/5): 5 Star Experience in the Gothic Quarter - Hotel Neri was the perfect location for our 3 day visit to Barcelona before embarking on a cruise. It’s located in the historic Gothic Quarter. The staff went above and beyond to accommodate us with an early check in upon our morning arrival after an overnight flight. The hotel is top of the line, clean, and decorated nicely. The restaurant in the hotel has an amazing breakfast. We started with coffee before a tray with breads, fruit, yogurt and juices was brought to us. In addition, we were able to order off the menu. I cannot say enough about Tomas, who greeted us with cappuccinos upon our arrival. He was friendly and was there to assist with any questions we had. Tomas went above and beyond the day of our checkout, speaking and coordinating logistics with our driver who couldn’t pick us up at the hotel due to a protest in the vicinity. Tomas led us and our luggage through blocks of pedestrians to meet up with the driver who was parked several blocks away. We couldn’t have done it ourselves in a city we weren’t familiar with. Overall, I’d highly recommend Hotel Neri for your visit to beautiful Barcelona.

The apartment was spacious, quiet and beautifully appointed, the hotel staff were excellent throughout our stay and provided invaluable advice for our stay in Barcelona. The breakfast is a highlight and will set you up for the day. We would highly recommend Hotel Neri Barcelona.

Traveling with two young kids can be challenging, but from the moment we arrived, the entire team made us feel not only welcomed, but genuinely at home. The warmth and care we experienced went far beyond what you expect from even the best hotels. A very special thank-you to Thomas and the rest of the team, who consistently went above and beyond for our family. Whether it was anticipating what our kids might need, offering thoughtful local tips, or simply greeting us each day with genuine kindness, they played a huge part in making our stay unforgettable. Their attention, patience, and personal touches made our children feel comfortable and happy—something any parent knows is priceless. The hotel itself is stunning: beautifully designed, perfectly located, and full of character. The breakfast is top notch and the kids loved it, special shoutout to Fernando and his team who created a warm and delicious experience each morning. It’s the people who truly set Hotel Neri apart. Every member of the staff treated us with such warmth. We can’t thank everyone enough for creating such a special experience for our family. We left with wonderful memories and can’t wait to return. Hotel Neri is an absolute gem.
- Snarth (6/5): Fussy details undermined some of the charms - First the positives-- the front desk staff was terrific, always available (and I mean, absolutely always)-- so friendly and helpful for restaurant recommendations and reservations, taxi arrangements and so on. The beds were pretty comfortable, the room decor was pleasant, the shower worked fine. However, the precious-designer lighting throughout the hotel is atrocious. Are they trying to hide something? I'm kidding, but really, it is ridiculous. Tip: Slide your standing lamp over to the head of the bed for a stab at a reading light. Another pretentious little thing is the awful, hi tech coffee maker that broke down several times. There is also a water kettle provided, so maybe some instant coffee packets could be a backup? Another tip: BYO sugar and something to stir with, as you don't get any of those in the room. Really, I would like to kidnap the front desk people and put them in a hotel that I would consider staying in again.
