• Michelle (9/5): Location, plenty of spam - The location is only 2-3 minutes from both Bencoolen and Bras Basah MRT stations, and various bus lines along Middle Rd and Bras Basah Rd, so access to public transport is great. The roof top pool is of a decent size with lounge chairs for your comfort, a wading pool for kids and a small spa type pool to relax in after a hot day out siteseeing. The deluxe apartment was very comfortable with a separate bedroom, separate lounge area and a nice kitchenette with full size fridge. The bed was large but could do with an upgrade, I think it has seen better days. Individual air con control in each unit. The staff were all very helpful and obliging, from reception to housekeeping. Plenty of clothes storage in the walk in robe. As already mentioned, the bed could be replaced it is showing its age and not the most comfortable of beds. The lounge should be replaced, quite a few stains and exceptionately saggy seat cushions, not very comfortable.
• Nancy (8/5): Property with great location - My 3rd stay here. Excellent location with 2 MRT stations and bus stops are just less than 5 mins walk. Property is also surrounded by many restaurants, bars and food court. We appreciate the big safe provided. You need to go into the bathtub to shower and the water keeps flowing out of the bathtub which will wet the floor mat. The kitchen has been refurbished but the rest of the room's furnishing are old.

• Leisa (7/5): - Spacious rooms for Singapore standards and great central location. The nasi padang downstairs is fabulous. Daily cleaning is a plus. We have stayed here many times. The bed is quite uncomfortable and pillow cases are too small for the pillows. One would think ASR would standardise these basics. No ASR points when booking via booking.com.

• Varnavas (8/5): Great location and spacious - The location is really good and the apartment is spacious. The couch table and kitchenette were great for our group of 3 to gather around and still have room to move and store 3 suitcases. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The beds were very hard and the only downfall to our stay which was otherwise wonderful.

• Petersen (10/5): Somerset - Home away from home - Hazira was a great guest officer! We arrived early and she stowed our bags while the room was being prepped. We were pleasantly surprised upon a return from our walkabout to be advised that the room was available earlier than expected and we were given access. This is really a home away from home. The facilities and pool were immaculate. Housekeeping was amaze balls and we lacked nothing. The apartment is spacious and the property itself close to all the MRT and bus services you need to get around. No more cramped hotel rooms us! Lots of eateries, and 7/11 to get your basics. Thank you Somerset team, for making our stay most comfortable!

• Victoria (7/5): - Great location, comfy appartment. Upon my check in I had an incredibly rude staff. I honestly felt like I was bothering him with my presence. I just had a really long flight with a toddler I was exhausted and it was 1.30am instead of explaining to me why it’s taking so long to get me a key he just made me wait when I asked him after 25 mins if there is a problem he dismissed me saying that I’ve changed my booking and I am not on their system. I have indeed changed my booking from 2 days to 4 days stay and I gave them 3 weeks notice plus I had confirmation that it has been done. Things happen no probs but he was so rude to me about it!! Like it was my fault. Then when I was finally checked in I finally went up to the appartment to find that there is no cot for my baby. When I called reception he just said we had no idea that you were coming today so it’s not ready and not guaranteed on booking anyway. He could have said it in a nicer way when I was facing him in reception. Overall the place was good and the rest of the staff was nice but this particular guy has left a bitter “aftertaste in my mouth”
• Becca (8/5): Good location in Singapore - Good location close to Orchard Road and easy to get to from the airport via the Metro. The staff were fabulous and really helpful. Roof top pool is nice and rooms basic but adequate. Nothing to dislike as such, but the hotel is quite old and tired looking. Rooms are very basic.

• Lynn (8/5): Well located apartment for short stay - Location and size of apartment plus it had excellent air conditioning! We keep on being disturbed despite having a sign on the door. We also paid for a late check out so that we could sleep in the afternoon prior to a 19 hour flight....we were disturbed once by housekeeping then once again by the manager. We couldn't fall back to sleep after the disturbance which defeated the purpose of the late check out. Apartment could do with a furniture refresh.. couch old and sinky and bed was way too firm. We asked for a topper which they provided which helped a bit.
• MIKI (9/5): 良かった。 - 昨年に続いての宿泊です。前回は水漏れというアクシデントで予約した部屋を利用できませんでしたので再挑戦です。お湯の具合や水圧も申し分なし。キッチンや２ケ所のバスルームの内１つにバスタブもあります。日曜・祝日以外は毎日清掃が入ります。フロントに行くとタオル類がもらえますよ。地下鉄、バス、コンビニ・飲食店が近くにあり、ロケーションはとても良いです。 少しマットレスが堅かったです。

Die Lage neben der MRT Bencoolen und gegenüber eines kleinen Foodcourt auch super. Das Bett war etwas hart und unbequem, die Ausstattung etwas in die Jahre gekommen und die Küche könnte definitiv besser ausgestattet sein.

I requested a baby chair and they provided a crib as well. The location is on point, across the Bencoolen MRT and several bus stops. Everything is just right. The breakfast venue is located to a Padang restaurant next door, with very limited options. However, still fine because the menu changes daily.

• Oz (1/5): על הפנים, לא להתקרב. - האמת שלא יותר מידי הניקיון היה על הפנים, הריח בכניסה למלון היה לא נעים מריח של מסעדה הודית בנוסף הייתה הפסקת חשמל לא מתואמת ביום שלם שלנו במלון - על הפנים. היו נמלים , היה מזגן מטפטף , כיורים סתומים , כספת תקועה אבל תוקנה בקיצור המקום מיושן ומאוד מאוד יקר לא ברור למה, ממש לא נהנו , לא היו שירותיים בכלל . ממש לא ממליץ על המקום

The reception had a very strong smell that was not pleasant. Weren't given the option of breakfast but looked OK. Pool didn't look too inviting. Gym was very limited. The water boiling contraption was overly complicated.

The location is great, you can walk to many places and there is also a metro stop nearby. • Javier (10/5): El mejor alojamiento de Singapore relación tamaño-precio - Sinceramente ibamos un poco asustados viendo que las reviews decían que la habitación era muy vieja y que tenian que tener una remodelacion pronto. Creo que sí, las habitaciones no son las más nuevas del mundo, pero aún así no notas que nada sea viejo o esté sucio, están muy bien mantenidas. Además, en relación tamaño-precio con respecto a otros alojamientos, sin duda este las superaba con creces. Por el mismo precio que en otros alojamientos con habitaciones minúsculas, aquí tenias un salon con cocina donde podías ver una peli o preparar tu comida si querías, además de la propia habitación que contaba con vestidor. Otro punto a favor, fue la zona, con cafés y sitios para comer muy cercanos, además de estar a pocas paradas en metro/bus del centro de la ciudad. Sin duda muy accesible a todo.

• Mirella (8/5): in 2 minds primarily around the security issue as mentioned otherwise well placed. - The location is great for public transport, relation to food halls, cafes and sightseeing along the foreshore. The train metro is across the street and has many connections to the rest of the network, is fast and efficient. We walked to the Raffles Hotel and the foreshore relatively flat and easy though in the humid weather it can be draining. Bus stops are outside the building however we didn't use the bus network much so can't vouch for its connectivity. The apartment was clean, spacious enough for 2 adults, on the whole well maintained and every thing worked as far as I can recall. The issue that concerned me most was that the cleaner left the door to our apartment unlocked and slightly ajar while we were away all day on one occasion and the reception staff were non-plussed saying the cleaner was new and forgot to close the door - this was unsettling at the time. Another issue was that I paid more than the advertised price because of the way the exchange rate was calculated however that has more to do with the Booking site that the apartment. The building was hard to spot among other buildings coming out of the metro at night when we first arrived, the signage is not immediately obvious especially at night. I would have welcomed some tea/coffee/sugar/milk arriving late as we did however there was was only 1 sachet each of black coffee and tea - for the price there could be a bit more of these small considerations. There are no instructions on the AC or the coffee maker in the kitchen so a bit guess work is needed. There is no bedside table nearest the window which was inconvenient. The reception staff were pretty much functional and could not provide information about the apartment or tourist information about the area.

Lovely staff members. - Fantastic location, great sized room, good hotel ammenities such as the pools, playground and hybrid room. The only let down was the breakfeast: very basic, poor and limited choices with restraunt staff more pioritised to their own catering and business. Which is fair to them, but hotel guest loses at the end. Breakfeast.

• Zinhle (9/5): Great aparthotel for a Singapore visit - The location was great with easy access to transportation links. Staff were friendly and the apartments were spacious and as advertised. Kitchen was a good size with all the things you would need for a short stay. We arrived early and when we requested early check in, we were advised that we could if we upgraded rooms for an additional fee. While we thought that this would be a marginal cost, it ended up being an extra night's charge! Safe to say, we walked around and explored the shopping district a bit until we could check into our original room at 14:00.
• Kit (7/5): Will stay again, old habits die hard but would not have breakfat there. - We had been staying at Somerset Bencoolen for years and liked the location. The apartment though is beginning to look sad. This was our first time booking the continental breakfast, and we were unfortunately very disappointed with the quality and service. While croissants were occasionally topped up, the rest of the selection was consistently sparse. Most notably, the fruit was never replenished, and the hot water pot remained cold for all four mornings because the hot plate was broken. It was disappointing that these basic issues weren't addressed during our stay. We would suggest that reception staff actively supervise the breakfast area to ensure standards are maintained.

• Gustav (1/5): Expensive and disappointing stay in Singapore. - The water filtration bottle and the location. The staff at reception was not very friendly, the breakfast was very, very basic, the oven was dirty and the hotel is very overpriced for what it offers.
