Hotel didn’t let them go inside without any reason and they have booking in advance photo attached ,Reception lady Inna was very rude and un polite and she was shouting at us to leave the hotel .

This meant the small bathroom and toilet had to be shared. If you are a family and rent both rooms then this is fine. We were lucky that during our 6 days stays we were alone.

По факту в номере её нет, позвонили на ресепшин, где сказали, что воду нужно заказывать с утра. На вопрос, что делать тем, кто заселился вечером обещали подумать и перезвонить, но судя по тому, что не перезвонили, наверное ничего не придумали.

- Verified traveler (2/5): Stay away - This is one or at most two star hotel. I can't understand why it is rated as three star property. The only upside is a great view from high floors -- that's it. Rooms are outdated, but bathrooms are even worse. However, the worst part of this hotel is the staff -- absolute ignorance.

- TravelLions (6/5): A quiet stay in a moderate Hotel - The hotel does lack the posh look, but has all the required facilities. We stayed in a Junior Suite. This contains 2 rooms - one a bedroom, the other a TV/ living room which could also be used for sleeping by converting the settee into a low bed. The heating is quite effective during cold weather. Free WIFI in the room. There is a small shop within the hotel premises, which sells water, biscuits, packeted sandwiches and a few essentials. This is a big advantage, since other supermarkets may be some distance away. The hotel is located very close to the Ostankino Tower in the North Eastern Suburbs of Moscow. One could see the Tower from the room. If you have not pre-booked your taxi, the cheapest and safest method is to book one at the Taxi counter if you are arriving at Domidedovo Airport. The fixed fare is 1,800 Rubles. Beware of touts who offer taxis and hotels at the arrivals hall of the airport. Zavsdnaya Hotel is located about 60 Kms from Domodedovo Airport. The journey takes about 1 hour, but could take longer during heavy traffic. The hotel has a restaurant cum pub too. This is where the breakfast is served. It's a decent breakfast, but non-meat eaters may find the choice very limited. The English knowledge of the staff at the Reception and Restaurant is extremely limited. Showing them the Russian translation of English words, helps you get what you need. If you need to do some shopping or eat something, the option we found was to do a 15 minute walk to Ashan City Mall. This has food court with McDonalds, KFC, Burger King, and a few other restaurants. Has shops selling international and Russian brands of clothing, and personal effects. Even at the mall, It's extremely difficult to communicate even a few words in English. A Taxi could be booked at the Reception to travel to the Airport. Fare 1,800 Rubles.

Так вот этот номер "б" гораздо больше и приятнее прежнего. Вай-фай по-прежнему тормозной. Если будет возможность - просите номер "б" в блоке, а не номер "а".

Номер был двуместный в блоке - на Хотелс написано что площадь 20 метров, на самом деле метров 10 комната максимум. Розеток нашлось мало (две под ТВ и холодильник и одна свободная). Рядом остановка транспорта, до метро идти пешком минут 15 (до Алексеевской) или можно доехать до Марьиной Рощи на транспорте. Обслуживание нормальное (правда, кто-то звонил по телефону в номер и предлагал "девушку", но для кого-то это может и плюс).

- corys391 (8/5): You get what you pay for! - I loved my visit to Russia, being in Moscow for the first timed seemed very challenging with the metro and getting around. I have to admit this hotel was very hard to find at first. Its about a 15-20 walk to the metro. BUT, it is in a very beautiful area near the metro. The hotel room had a very small bed, the shower head broke off, and the room was not amazing. But for the price I would stay again. I need a hotel to sleep and have some fun with the girlfriend, and the security guard was a super nice guy. Needless to say I didn't pay for the shower head and I suggest you do not move it down when showering. Staff.... some were nice some where not. Receptionists seem to work 20 hours days so who can blame them. All in all, Moscow is a super expensive city, for the price you cant beat that location and decent view. Plus it has air-conditioning. I recommend!

I did not enjoy my stay at this hotel. The staff are professional and try to be helpful. Considering this is my first visit to Russia. Perhaps I am aiming too high.

The hotel is located far from metro (subway) - around 20 minutes walking, it's not easy to find the place. Half of the hotel is under construction hopefully this will improve the place in future. - dalemulford (2/5): Rudest receptionists on planet Earth - As much as I love Russia as a country, they are not well known for hospitality, and to my dismay, I had to experience the worst service and attitudes ever ! I have traveled to over 30 countries and stayed at hundreds of hotels in the world, and this experience was the worst. I dare you to ask for change for a 1000 Ruble note, you'll get a loud "NYET". Before I continue, let me just say that I can speak and understand Russian on a basic conversational level. It didn't matter. If you are not fluent in Russian, don't even think about staying here unless you can't afford a better place. I'll be checking out tomorrow and staying at the Best Western tomorrow, since I cannot stand another day at this Hell. Normally, I can handle apathetic service , but the reception, all mediocre looking, miserable women, who hate their lives and yours, are present to make you hate Russia and will go out of their way to ruin your experience. I booked a single room, twin bed, with a shared bath, and buffet breakfast to be included. The room was small, had a nice view on the 14th floor, but was clean, had a nice refrigerator, a tv with a few channels, a mini pull out sofa and chair, and small closet. The shared bath, is only shared between 2 rooms, so it shouldn't be a problem to use it when you need it. When I attempted to have breakfast, they insisted I have a ticket which inconveniently is kept at the reception, however when I went to claim it, they didn't have any record saved of my booking which my breakfast was to be included. Explaining this situation to them, and proving this on the itinerary made no difference. I booked through Expedia, so when I informed Expedia, they compensated me the cost of the days I should have received breakfast. This is a scam by the hotel, to allow one to book with breakfast included, then try to charge you when you want to eat, so wrong. The hotel also has a basement bar with KGB waitress with a personality of a table cloth guarding it. I asked for Baltika, a Russian beer, and she literally screamed at me to inform they don't have it, and literally ordered me to sit. Really?? Am I under arrest. 10 minutes later the crap beer came, cost 250 rubles, extremely expensive for beer, and I had to wait another 20 minutes for her to return with change with the 1000 ruble note I gave her. To say the least, this was the last time I went to this bar at the hotel. The hotel also has a little mini store attached to the entrance, which is one of the few nice things I have to say about this place, and there, I could get my change for a 1000 note by buying a few things. The hotel is about a 15 minute walk to the metro station which will get you to city center in 15 mins... If you have very "thick skin" and love to yell back at nasty receptionists, then this place may suffice. 99.999% of others will find a better experience and stay elsewhere.

- Verified traveler (6/5): Ingen info fra hotelet om hvad som helst - Det var en god hotel, og værelsene var rene og komfortable, med stor kølleskab og varm/koldt vand til at drikke fra maskinen. Badeværelset og WC var adskildte og rene. Håndklæderne, toiletpapir, samt vandet og shampo var lagt hver dag. Dørkortet virkede ofte ikke, især når vi kom efter en heldagstur og skal ned til receptionen for at kodere det igen. God morgenmad, med ikke hele den tid som står på kortet (fra 8-11.) Der var ofte kun den gode morgenmad omkring kl.9. og så bliver det spist. Til sidst er der kun det der er tilbage - ofte skal du kalde efter en og bede om kopper eller lign. Ingen pjecer eller info fra receptionen om mulige ekskursioner,...ingen hjælp ved info om noget som helst. Sure ansigter og korte svare: "Det ved jeg ikke". Hvor kunne man ellers finde info om alting end med at starte på hotelet. Heldigvis jeg har været i Moskva for 23 år siden og kunne huske mange ting - for andre turister ville det være svært at finde ud af...Alt i alt det var en god tur takket være mig som kunne vise rundt for min søn...For pengene fik vi rigtig god hotel...

If you speak russian would be better - The room was very clean and well furnished, for the price i think is good, big room and confortable, the restaurant offers good food for good price.You have to walk to/ from train station about 10-15 minutes or get a tram to the station close to the hotel The building is old and need more updates. Half of the staff at the reception don't speak a word in English and don' t want to make an effort to understand and help the clients but others ,even dont speak English are very helpful and will try to undertand what do you need and help effectively.Is a kind of luck who are at the reception. Near you can visit by a short walk the tower of Communications, the centre of Exhibitions with nice buildings but inside bad conditions, the monument to the space explorers and go the the Cosmos hotel to the folk dances highly recomended!

- TriciaB46 (8/5): Reasonable, clean, air-conditioned room - We were pleasantly surprised by the comfort, cleanliness and size of the room for such a reasonable price. We actually had a 2 room suite. Another real bonus was air conditioning which kept the room very comfortable, which we didn't expect. Since it was in the high 80s two of the days we were in Moscow, it was greatly appreciated! The bathroom was small but fully equipped with plenty of towels and good shower with hot water. We did not experience the metal detector security check on our arrival, but there was always a guard on duty at the entrance. Our main disappointment was that though the desk personnel gave us the wifi password for free, we never were able to get Internet access-- we could connect to the server but only had local access. The only other downside was the long walk to the Metro--wouldn't be bad if you were there to sit in an office or meetings all day-- but since we walked all day looking at the sights-- the walk home at the end of the day was pretty exhausting! The breakfast had some interesting items, but there was always something that was good-- hard-boiled eggs every day and dry cereal with liquid yogurt, plus some kind of hot dish and a variety of breads and salads. The desk staff procured a taxi for our return trip to the airport at less than 1/2 the rate we paid coming from the airport. It looks like the hotel management has made some improvements since some of the previous reviewers stayed here-- no metal detector security check, TV had BBC news, so we could at least hear some English spoken :); and the air conditioning worked well. I'm sure we could have had more luxury many other places, but the price was right and we enjoyed the cultural experience!
- lyagywonok (6/5): Adequate pricing but location and service are not so good - Adequate hotel in means of price but only if you find a suitable rate. Security is strict, during your arrival you are checked with metal detector, but after that the procedure is not repeating every time you enter the hotel (not sure the guards remember each guest). Pros: - the closest airport is Sheremetyevo and if you are lucky you could get there without traffic jams in 25 minutes. Cons: - small and cold room (it was December); - bad insufficient breakfast; - location is mostly ok but rather far from subway station, it is about 10-15 minutes to go by foot.
- BritBronco (4/5): Not really up to western standards - Stayed here for a week while in Moscow on business. It was the only hotel near our office available at short notice. It is a little intimidating on arrival, as the entrance to the hotel looks like it is set up to repel a police raid. Check in took a while, the level of English spoken by the reception staff was not great, and it was slightly alarming that they had to hold on to our passports overnight. The room was large, with a separate lounge containing a sofa, tv, fridge and drinking water dispenser. The bathroom by contrast was a pokey affair with little room for anything but a sink and shower. The toilet was in a similar small room. (See photos). Although the room was large it was in desperate need of refurbishing and everything appeared to be about 20 years old. The TV didn't have any English speaking channels either. The air conditioning unit only produced hot air, so it was lucky the weather was seasonable cool. You recieve tokens for breakfast, which is a buffet affair typical of Russian hotels. There is also a bar in the basement which serves food (I did not try, but my colleagues were not impressed) and good beer. There is also a small shop in the lobby which sells a range of food/drink and convience items. We cut short out stay once the nearby Hotel Oksana became available, which was much nicer. By Moscow standards the cost of this hotel is relatively affordable, although you can see why. I'm sure there are worse alternatives in Moscow however.
- GloucesterTraveler (8/5): Good price for a hotel in Moscow - Stayed at the Zveznaya Hotel and can recommend it for a sensibly priced hotel in Moscow. To stay in Moscow can be crazy prices and this hotel is only a 10 minute walk from the Cosmos which is 3 times the price for a room. The room was clean and had a fridge, a water dispenser, which also had a heating element you could use to make tea or coffee if you take the ingredients, also need a cup which you can hire form the front desk, yes I did say hire. Shower was excellent, plenty of room in the wardrobe and room cleaned every day. I was on the top floor, three lifts available, and the room had a key card. Security on the entrance and a very well stocked food shop in entrance as well as the usual bar and restaurant where an excellent buffet breakfast was severed form 07.30 to 11.00 everyday but you have to have a voucher each day which you should get when you check in for you whole stay. Business centre had internet and wireless is available in all rooms once you pay for a login password. I used the internet cafes in the city plenty of them. Location was walking distance from metro which is then a short ride into the centre. The road to and from the metro looks un-inviting at night but I never had a problem for my whole stay and there are also 24 small supermarkets on route. Also 10 minutes from a really lovely park with an amazing fountain and buildings celebrating the different regions of the former soviet era plus a space museum. If the sun is shining well worth a passing a few hours here and with plenty of food and drink stalls, a great place to watch the real Muscovites at play. Don’t be afraid of the taxis agree a fixed price and they will stick to it. I recommend this hotel great value for money and very clean and tidy well suited to the western tastes. Final tip if you want to eat cheap and real Russian food look out for the MY-MY (pronounced moo moo) restaurant chains all over Moscow, you can’t miss them they have a black and white cow out side, self service and great fresh food.
