Chambres agréables Fenêtres mal isolées. Bruit de la rue
- Siobhán (9/5): Great location; beautiful historic building with very modern facilities. - Very warm and welcome check in and guest experience overall including in the restaurant. In a beautiful historic building. The room was modern with a lovely traditional pitched roof which made for a unique stay and had everything you could need. Very close to trams to take you anywhere in the city swiftly. Lots of amenities inc. gyms, shops restaurants cafes around you so no need to travel far for anything. A very convenient and safe neighbourhood. The pitched roof extended to the shower so this room was not the most suitable for my tall family member. I would suggest flagging this in advance.
- JTM (1/5): Waardeloos - De kamer; faciliteiten
- V2710SZmarcb (10/5): Charming welcome and delicious food - We were very nice welcomed at the door and suddenly impressed by both the exterior and the interior of the building. During the check in we were offered a welcome drink, a dutch cookie and the choice of a perfum to be sprayed in our room. The fragrances are unique by the way and designed by the hotel. We had a very pleasent night sleep after a long day. The next morning we enjoyed the breakfast, with a delicious selection a la carte. We will definitely stay again.

- Antje (10/5): Perfect and elegant hideaway. - Very nice and quiet room. Excellent staff, very friendly. Breakfast very classy. Please add a european breakfast with cheese and bread to your options. Thank you.
- Fabrice (10/5): -
- I726KChaleyh (10/5): excellent service - Finn, Maud and Tessa were wonderful!
- debbiehO2595II (4/5): Historically Uncomfortable - Daughter and I stayed here for a brief visit to Amsterdam. I will allow that it is centrally located. It is a “historic property” meaning the rooms “differ from the styles found in modern hotels”. (Their words, not mine). We found our room to be exceptionally uncomfortable. The sleeping area was separated from the living area and restrooms by 20 stairs. Any time someone needed to use the restroom, motion detectors lit the entire suite, waking everyone. We were not informed when making reservations or upon check-in that the room required the use of stairs to get to the sleeping area. This was problematic due to personal mobility issues due to a disease.
I am amazed and disappointed Marriott would allow this property to be part of their Autograph Collection. There are better, more comfortable properties nearby with better rates.
Will not stay here again.

- miesroen (10/5): The best service tops perfection - “ The best service tops perfection”
We’ve had a lovely stay at The College Hotel.
We really like what they have done to the rooms during the renovation. We like the light themes better than the previous dark ones. And the bed sleeps great: not too hard, not too soft, just super. And the double shower is great too.
Was our stay perfect?
No, it wasn’t: there was a small electricity problem that caused the lights in the lights in the bathroom to be not working in the morning. But the way the staff handled that in the best possible way. They owned it and aced it. With lovely, clear communication, supported by nice little cards, they fixed it, gave feedback and compensated us. And not just one person, they all did at all stations, weather Arif at reception, Irene with housekeeping, Robert the technical service guy, the breakfast staff, the proactive trainees, just everywhere and everyone. They all proved that besides doing the best job you can, striving for the best service always tops striving for perfection.
Note: the room scent you can select at check in and the nice quiet atmosphere in the building create a nice calm vibe throughout the whole hotel.
We highly recommend the College Hotel. It’s one of our favourite places to stay in Europe!
- Eddy (10/5): super - Alles top Niets
- Norimasa (9/5): - Atmosphere. Nice historical building. Good staff, alert and willing to offer assistance. Not easy to access with a car.
It will be better if you have a handle in the shower for persons with disabilities and difficulties to keep balance.

- Trail364337 (2/5): Avoid the high tea!!! - Very disappointing high tea at The College Hotel Amsterdam. For a five-star venue, the quality was surprisingly poor: basic sandwiches (quality level of a petrol station), heavy pastries that tasted defrosted, no fresh orange juice, and no choice of tea (Jasmin). Service was disorganized—the scones were forgotten, and even takeaway boxes were unavailable. We were 6 and paid 250 euros for a bad experience. Overall, it felt like a high-volume operation with little care for quality. Spend your money elsewhere.
- 765lyleb (10/5): Lovely Hotel-Lovely People - Here it is February, 2026 and my husband and I still are wistful about our week at The College Hotel in October, 2025. After a very difficult flight over, we fell into our charming, wonderful room and slept for an uninterrupted 13 hours. (Good blackout curtains) My husband thought his iPhone was broken!! Tussled and tearing down the stairs, barely making breakfast, we were cared for and treated like family. Thus began the most enjoyable week of our lives. Wonderful location, charming hotel, wonderful staff. Thank you for our week in Amsterdam. We can't wait to return.

- johnhY6493UQ (6/5): Don’t eat the breakfast! - I was really impressed, with a very friendly check-in. The room was very nice, albeit slightly quirky with a couple of stairs to the bathroom which were a challenge during the night.
The bar area, was small and the Bowman, Elvis was great. Food choices were very limited, which, as I will go on was perhaps something avoided a much worse review.
The problem, was the service at breakfast. Appalling, is an understatement. Perhaps, the worst service I have ever been given. You’re shown to your table, the waiter runs off, and then you have to try and get someone’s attention. At the time, there was perhaps eight people for breakfast. Staff wise, counting the people that constantly walked backwards and forwards only focusing in front of them, perhaps 15 staff.
It took, about 20 minutes for someone to come and ask what food I wanted, and that food turned up perhaps another 20 minutes later. It was simply poached eggs on toast, with the eggs being nearly cold but the whites still runny! I was not the only person that suffered this unique service.
In summary, a great hotel if you just wanna sleep there.
- Emma (10/5): Our stay at The College Hotel was absolutely brilliant from start to finish. - Review: The College Hotel, Amsterdam
Our stay at The College Hotel was absolutely brilliant from start to finish. The staff were incredibly polite, all fluent in English, and had a wonderful balance of professionalism and warmth—they never took themselves too seriously and made us feel genuinely welcome throughout our stay.
The rooms were simply stunning. The beds were exceptionally comfortable, and the bathrooms were beautifully designed, adding a real touch of luxury to the experience. We also chose to include breakfast, which turned out to be an excellent decision. The food was truly 5-star quality, and we were allowed to order anything from the menu each morning—from a full English breakfast to yogurt bowls and continental options. Everything was delicious.
The location was perfect for our trip. We attended Metstrade at the RAI Exhibition Centre, and the hotel sat at an ideal midpoint between central Amsterdam and the exhibition venue—extremely convenient without compromising on atmosphere or charm.
Overall, the entire experience was amazing, and I would stay at The College Hotel again in a heartbeat. Highly recommended. Nothing!!!
- Steve (10/5): - Everything Food
- Jonathon (10/5): -
- Ilse Berdeeh (10/5): -
Ruimte was koud.
Hotelkamer had alleen diagrammen. Geen uitzicht
- Luca Sergio (9/5): Divine and definitely to repeat - Very nice hotel, spotless. Bed is comfortable, room is huge and the bathroom too. Definitely “oversized” for Amsterdam! Nothing, but would have been nice to have a Spa with sauna or hot tub
- Syed Ali Zohair (6/5): - It is centrally located and very close to the museums and public transport.
Personeel was uitermate vriendelijk.
Eten was uitstekend . Geen opmerking alles naar tevredenheid
- Fatima (10/5): -
- May (8/5): Prima -
- Dream62010816675 (6/5): Good enough - The location is great and very convenient for getting around the city center. The staff members are all warm and kind. When we arrived, there was a temporary change to the reception that we were not informed about in advance, but the check-in process was still smooth and welcoming.
The room we had was quite clean and spacious. However, due to the room type, they were unable to provide a rollaway bed. I had asked about this before arriving and was told they would let us know if it was possible, but we were only informed upon arrival.
One small issue we couldn’t quite understand was the sensor light in the room, which would turn on constantly at night even without movement. Additionally, housekeeping procedures seemed inconsistent, sometimes our requested extra blanket was left in the room, while other times it was removed and we had to ask for it again.
The à la carte breakfast was nice, although the waiting time was a bit long.
The main issue for us was that the hotel bar was extremely loud at night and did not quiet down even after midnight. This is something to consider for those who wish to have a good night rest.
Overall, I would say the stay was fairly good, though perhaps not the best value for money. The friendly staff were a major part of our positive impression.

- Travel50493344270 (10/5): Smooth check-in thanks to great staff - I would like to especially thank yoonlee for her outstanding support during my stay.
There was an issue with my debit card at check-in, and she resolved it quickly and efficiently.
She was also extremely kind and provided helpful recommendations for nearby attractions, which made my stay very comfortable and enjoyable overall.🤍
- Klaus (5/5): Wat een teleurstellende metamorfose. - Helaas…..Zo jammer!

- W3375YHmaxs (10/5): Love the Art! - Peter was excellent and very helpful durin check-in! Love the hotel and the artsy touch, especially the nod to Banksy and Mr Brainwash.
- Michael (10/5): -
- Storyteller231939 (10/5): Wonderful in every regard - We had a wonderful stay at this very special hotel. A building of historic interest which has been elegantly and sympathetically restored.
Not only was the hotel, all the communal areas and our room classy yet comfortable, the staff were incredibly attentive and knowledgeable too.
A special shout out to Peter, the host who had a warm welcome for us in a chilly December day. His knowledge of the building’s history and the pride for working in still stylish iconic building was very evident. Thank you for a wonderful stay and we look forward to staying with you again next year.
- sarahsH5357EB (10/5): 10/10 lovely weekend getaway - From the moment you arrive, you are greeting with a peaceful atmosphere. The grounds are very well kept and the hotel is gorgeous. Check in was a breeze and they even gave us tea upon arrival. You can also choose your scent for turndown. The rooms are spacious, clean and nicely decorated. The beds are very comfortable, I felt like I was sleeping on a cloud, and the bathrooms are great with signature scents and bathrobes. Even though you are in a central location, the hotel was very quiet. Overall, the stay was great, but Pete made it feel like home. He remembered all the guests and made us feel special. Always kind, with a smile on his face and helping how he could. He also brought us cava to to room to celebrate my mom's birthday! I would definitely return. (And thanks again Pete!)
- sommers2022 (10/5): Great stay in Amsterdam! - I had a really nice stay at the college hotel. The staff is very attentive and friendly. Peter, the doorman was very charming and gave me a history lesson about the property itself. Be sure to ask him!
The afternoon tea and room service in the morning were delicious. The room was huge with high ceilings and a lot of natural light. I was staying there as a solo woman and felt very comfortable and safe! Highly recommend.
- O2895NSginat (10/5): My favorite hotel in Amsterdam - This was my second viisit to the College Hotel and I can't recommend this enough. It's such a charning hotel and great location, just a few minutes walk to the Museumplein and well-served by the tram and metro. The front desk staff were wonderful, particularly Peter, the ever so charming doorman who was so kind and friendly, always with a ready smile to make you feel right at home. Already looking forward to my next visit!
- H3170HHchriss (10/5): Great stay at The College Hotel - Clean, comfortable, courteous. This has been our 4th year staying at The College Hotel and they all have been great. Peter the doorman is phenomenal! So damn helpful! We will be back next fall and will be making it our 5th stay here.
- J6568TIcolleenl (10/5): We spent an overnight in Amsterdam and enjoyed ourselves in the lovely college hotel - When you arrive you are greeted to a red carpet like a celebrity outside the lovely hotel. We were received by their staff with cookies of the region and their warm hospitality. We especially appreciated Peter. Very personable and knowledgeable and of course his trademark hair. Thanks for a perfect stay!
- Ning (5/5): average - The lobby and hall looks nice. The room is not big which is acceptable considering the price but the facilities are not very good to use.
- Ken (10/5): The College teaches us what all hotels should be! - Our room was divine. We knew from the very start that this was an exceptional property. Located on the edge of everything in Amsterdam it was within easy reach either walking or using the trams which were on your doorstep. The facilities were outstanding with a spacious room that was clean and wonderful staff that were friendly, polite and professional. There is nothing to dislike here.

- D1149ANalicea (10/5): Perfect stay - My favorite hotel in Amsterdam. Personnel is very kind, they are always there to help. Food is also very good. I like having a real gym at my disposal
- paulalW3920TX (10/5): Great staff- highly recommend! - Had a wonderful stay. The staff was super helpful and gave us great restaurant and activity recommendations. Would love to come back!
- Perreault (10/5): -
- 808tedq (10/5): Family trip - Excellent experience with Elvis, Peter
And whole staff! Excellent hotel, location and staff! Location by trams is excellent!

- A9576PImiker (10/5): Convenient and luxurious, attentive staff. - A beautiful hotel centrally located on tram lines they allow you to get anywhere else in the city. It’s particularly close to the Van Gogh and modern art museum. The hotel is a converted boarding school with good facilities, a bar, lounge, library and dining room. Plus a courtyard that has been exquisitely furnished. The staff has been knowledgeable, responsive and highly attentive. The rooms are perfect with a desk and minibar. The architecture is amazing, great attention to detail. Incredible brickwork (like most of Amsterdam) and well maintained grounds.
- Carole (8/5): Bel endroit.
- Simon (7/5): - As it is a training venue, service is inconsistent. Sometimes good, sometimes really bad.
- caitlinmH9765IV (10/5): Always a Rewarding Experience - Upon my arrival, Younlee immediately began taking care of me. I had mentioned I had a long day because of work - She provided me a welcome drink, arranged for a taxi service go pick me up to go to the airport in the morning, and brought me a European adapter because I lost mine. When I travel and there's an option to go to a College, Autograph Collection, I always choose it because I know the service is spectacular and the staff always goes above and beyond. Thank you, Autograph Collection and thank you Younlee for being lovely and going above and beyond! When I come back to Amsterdam for business or for personal reasons, I will definitely be coming back.
- Companion44342110236 (10/5): Best stay in AMSTERDAM - Excellent service, elegant rooms and Peter the doorman was fantastic. Would highly recommend for business or leisure
- Voyager60918123046 (10/5): Five ⭐️ Stars for Location and Staf - Our stay was exceptional thanks to the prime location and the wonderful, calm ambience of the hotel. What truly stood out, though, was the outstanding hospitality, especially from Mr. Peter, whose attentive and warm service made us feel genuinely welcome.
- Dreamer51804902688 (10/5): Wonderful and magical! - Everything about the hotel is beautiful and well maintained. The staff were great and helpful, especially Peter.
Should have booked longer and enjoy the hospitality this amazing hotel has to offer.
Kudos to the team, and may the hotel continue to thrive for many years to come!
- C7349QMpaulf (10/5): Just terrific on all counts - Beautiful and historic hotel close to town center and business spots to optimize work and pleasure. Great and attentive staff. Peter at the door started and closed my visit: all class, professionalism, and hospitality. Bravo!
- MRPedicelli (10/5): Beautiful discovery - Beautiful hotel, great breakfast, awesome and kind staff. The area us very quiet but just a couple blocks away there are great restaurants and shops.
Will definitely stay again

- Navigator63427979643 (10/5): Great! - During my stay, whenever I had any issues, the hotel staff were very friendly and eager to help. The room was clean and spacious, and when I checked out, Doorman Peter was extremely kind and helpful with my luggage. Overall, it was a great experience.
The only small downside is that the building was converted from an old college, so the plumbing is a bit dated, the water pressure and temperature can be a little unstable.
- larrycB3659RL (8/5): Very nice hotel with Peter being the highlight of the stay - College hotel was in an excellent location in the museum district
Easy access by tram or 30-45 minute walk to anywhere in Central Amsterdam
Staff were friendly and professional
Highlight was Peter , the porter who essentially acted as a concierge relating valuable information about Amsterdam
Important to request a quiet room as front rooms are very noisy with tram stop in front of hotel
- Dr. Robert (10/5): -
- Footprints724458 (10/5): Exquisite hotel!! - Exquisite hotel! Gorgeous 19th c. former boy’s boarding school with imaginative, unique decorative touches evocative with its history. Immaculate, pleasant scent throughout hotel, faux wooden floors in rooms; friendly and helpful staff; nuts, sparkling and still water, sparkling apple juice and espresso provided in room daily at no extra charge. Our room had a 20 ft. ceiling!! Very convenient to local trams and restaurants.
- s0njaip (10/5): Great property and great staff!!! - Stayed at the College Hotel for three nights on business and loved the location, service, and charm of the property. Would highly recommend to both business and leisure travelers. Peter, the door and front office attendant is a treasure and I’d return just to see him!
- Olivia (5/5): - Joli hôtel , position centrale Horriblement Bruyant
- B4361YH_ (2/5): Terrible service&attitude and the worst experience so far - This was by far the worst hotel experience I have ever had, and it's hard to believe this property belongs to the Marriott group.
Due to a payment issue, I was made to wait at the front desk for an hour in midnight. The hotel refused to accept the prepaid corporate booking in advance and instead shifted the responsibility to the booking platform. This is the first time something like this has ever happened to me, after hundreds of business trips.
There were many ways the hotel could have handled the situation, for example, by offering a formal apology for making a guest wait for an hour at midnight, or by allowing me to check in first while actively resolving the payment issue in the background.
However, the staff members, Marc and Japhet, chose instead to endlessly shift the blame, repeatedly emphasizing their “good reviews” and claiming to meet Marriott standards, while pushing the responsibility onto the waiting guest. Am i a real guest to provide feedback?
As someone who has stayed in over 30 Marriott properties around the world, I am giving my only negative review to this hotel. You do not deserve to claim that you meet Marriott standards.
All I am asking for is a formal, sincere, and timely apology. Thank you Autograph Amsterdam, you wasted my time. Thank you Marc, you ruined my trip experience and my mood.

With our 5:00 early arrival due to an overnight flight we were greeted with a welcoming front desk staff. We spent the early morning in the library where we met several travelers with the same predicament. Once we got into our room it was small by American standards but roomy enough for two. The best part of the experience was with the bell staff named Peter. He was so friendly and helpful whenever we needed something. We even ran into him on our departure at the train station and he happily showed us to the right train platform. He went above and beyond and the hotel is lucky to have someone so special. Thanks Peter and we will be back!
- Gabriela (9/5): Perfect location and service - Location is perfect for business purpose. Never crowded feeling, breakfast fast and delicious. Rooms are quiet for a good night sleep
- Jurrien (10/5): - Well managed and spacious and clean rooms and very good staff service + external gym arrangement Nothing
- Jeff (7/5): Pleasant setting, great location, staff friendly but for 5 star hotel there were a few deficiencies - Lovely old building with beautiful spaces and good renovation but room space not optimised and no wine glasses in room Waited an extraordinarily long time to be served for breakfast and on second day when brought wrong order and waited >35 min to get served we left as we had commitments elsewhere...
- 845lillyb (10/5): Outstanding 5* service - On 28th September 2025 myself and mom had a quick coffee break in your hotel.
We were extremely impressed about the outstanding kindness and professionalism of your waiter Mr. Hassan from Morocco.
Hassan delivered a truly first class service to us and he really treated us in the best possible way.
The hotel interior design is beautiful.
We shall be back again.
- ExBeret (10/5): If you are looking for the perfect place to stay in Amsterdam, look no further! - One of the nicest Marriott properties we've ever stayed at - and we've stayed at a lot. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel like family by Peter, the Doorman extraordinaire. Front desk staff, restaurant staff ....whatever the management is doing, they have a winning formula. Rooms are large and comfortable. Location is perfect - tram stop 25 meters from the front door. We loved our visit and plan to return!
- L3110ZRkatrinal (10/5): Bougie and wonderful - The hotel is beautiful and the staff are both helpful and friendly. Especially Peter who helped us with our luggage and made us laugh.

- travelwife26 (10/5): Great hotel - We spent 3 fabulous nights here and would love to return. Check in was a breeze. I’ve never been asked what time we wanted our room cleaned. What a terrific option to have!
The room was large, spotless and everything we needed was in the room. Breakfast was delicious. It was nice to order off a menu after 2 weeks of buffet breakfasts.
The best part of the hotel? Juliana at the front desk. She helped make meal suggestions, sending us to an incredible Italian deli just down the street. Stop in, you won’t be disappointed. Juliana took the time to plan a day trip for us out of the city. We visited Haarlem, an easy train ride away. She printed tickets for us and gave me very specific travel instructions, so we didn’t get lost or on the wrong train. She really went above and beyond to make sure our time in Amsterdam was enjoyable.
The hotel is a converted boarding school. The architecture is stunning and a very unique place to stay. The location is perfect, close to museums and across the street from the trolley.
- E8499VJrobertog (8/5): Good - Everything was great, but the guest experience at the restaurant needs to improve extensively. We tried to eat dinner at the hotel about 4 times and no one ever paid any attention to us or we had to stand up and chase people to come see us. In the end, we at there one time and it took about 25 min to get our order in, another hour to get our food and we had to ask the waiter where it was and then they brought it out so it was already ready but no one checked. A lot of improvement needs to happen with the guest experience. Also, maybe the change needs to be to not do so many events for non guest and focus a little more on the guests that are paying to be there.
