The hotel is one street away from Central Park and there's a Subway station and bus stops nearby. The rooms were very clean, comfortable and very spacious for New York, as well as quiet despite the noise outside. The staff also couldn't have been more helpful and when we did have an issue in one of the rooms, it was dealt with incredibly quickly and professionally. The cooking facilities worked well and the large fridge is perfect for longer stays. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

- Maps734797 (10/5): Outstanding accommodation in NYC - From arrival to departure AKA was ideal for us. So near Central Park, 5th Avenue shopping, art galleries, Carnegie Hall, the Lincoln Centre, theatres. The accommodation couldn’t have been better - roomy, with excellent service from front desk as well, plus a cafe and gym. I highly recommend AKA Central Park.

Right next door, workers are demolishing a multi-story building involving jackhammers and heavy equipment, accompanied by the sound of dropped steel girders and panels. The ethically challenged management intentionally concealed this, despite a call I made to the hotel months in advance, explicitly asking if there was such construction. It is a multi-year project, to be followed by the erection of an enormous new building with hotel and residential space. More LOUD construction disruption. Forget sleep, forget peace of mind between 6:00 AM and 6:00 PM. DO NOT STAY HERE!!
- Melinda997 (10/5): AKA is a wise choice - We loved our stay at AKA Central Park! My husband and I visited NYC for two weeks to celebrate our birthdays and see the city at Christmas time. We wanted a kitchen and living room but also a hotel experience, with people at the front desk to greet and guide us when we had questions. AKA met those needs at a reasonable price and was well-situated in the city, close to Central Park and the subway. Food markets nearby made grocery shopping easy. We would stay here again if we were visiting the city for an extended time.

I come to the city three times a year as a tourist, and after countless hotels and apartments, AKA Central Park is by far the cleanest place I’ve ever stayed in. Immaculately maintained, spotless, and genuinely comfortable — it immediately felt like home. What impressed me even more was the team. Everyone — from the front desk to housekeeping — is incredibly warm, welcoming, and genuinely happy to work here. You can feel that they put their heart into what they do, and it creates such a calm, caring atmosphere. Honestly, part of me doesn’t even want to write this review because I know more people will discover how great this place is… and then there might be no rooms left! But the team here deserves all the appreciation. Thank you for making every stay special — I’m done searching for a better place in NYC.

J ai détesté le bruit du groupe extérieur de l immeuble qui m’a empêché de dormir toutes les nuits car je dormais dans la salle à manger. Et le bruit était même insupportable la journée. Alors que comme la chambre une double fenêtre aurait pu régler le problème.

Very warmth attention by the personnel and the hotel had also amenities such as a gym, laundry, bar, restaurant and room offices if you have to work with your team. The atmosphere is cool, modern and with style as well.

Nota meno positiva è il rumore del condizionatore che è impossibile da spegnere e che disturba notevolmente nelle ore notturne. Il bagno non ha punti di appoggio per gli asciugamani che finiscono regolarmente sul pavimento. Se si desidera cenare in camera usufruendo del microonde non ci sono tavolini dove appoggiarsi.
- Fernando Gobbi (9/5): Bem localizado, ótima recepção e custo beneficio. - O AKA tem uma ótima localização, perto do Central Park e diversos metros. O pessoal da recepção é muito atencioso. O quarto era bem amplo, o chuveiro era muito bom (agua quente e fria), o ar-condicionado funcionava perfeitamente. A cozinha integrada era bem completa. Apesar de entender o conceito do AKA na minha estadia de 8 dias tive apenas UM dia de limpeza no quarto e troca de toalhas, a frequencia poderia ser um pouco maior. Os "blackouts" na janela era MUITO RUINS, não bloqueavam a luz externa de forma adequada, como estava com uma criança tive que cobrir a janela com papel aluminio para poder dormir ao amanhacer.

- WeekendJazzMusician (8/5): Modern hotel at a great location - We stayed here in late March for one week and truly enjoyed our stay. The location was perfect: we could walk to the Central Park, the Lincoln Center, and many other attractions. In addition, there are several nearby metro stations. The room was modern, well-equipped (e.g., microwave), and clean. Their gym was great too. The only inconvenience was that their cafe, i.e., "A. Cafe" was not open for weekends. Hence, we went to the cafe/restaurant nearby "Jams," then there was a bonus: we encountered Harrison Ford there! At any rate, we'll come back again when we visit NYC next time.

- Katherine (10/5): - I travel by myself and felt perfectly safe at this Hotel. I loved the location as I was on a Museum trip and many of the ones I visit were nearby. I loved the kitchenette and the ability to get my own morning coffee and my meals if I chose to stay in for the night. I be appreciated the bath tub as many hotels are taking them out. The star of my trip was the terrace. It was such a blessing to have an outdoor space. I truly loved that and will be back!

The kitchen was helpful with a decent size refrigerator, microwave, dishes, coffee pot. There was a kitchen, but no where for two people to sit and eat…no table and chairs. We had to have ice delivered to us, which was inconvenient. The lounge was only open M-F, which we found out on Saturday.

- Danno1767 (10/5): Superb service - My wife was having a serious surgery at New York Presbyterian Hospital and we needed a reasonably priced, one bedroom suite experience for post-operative stay. We looked at several and booked with AKA having never stayed at one before. I can only say that I am glad we did. Due to the "unknowns" associated with my wife's care, I specifically asked of the hotel ahead of time that we would need some flexibility with the reservation. Upon initial arrival, we stayed in a King room which was superb. A pleasant complication from all of this was that my wife's surgery went really well and we were discharged early. I immediately called AKA as we were not check in at the one bedroom suite and check out of the King room until two days later. No problem. Sara, the manager, was skillful and fast, was attentive and recognized the situation given the medical situation and made it all happen in two minutes. She assured me I had nothing to worry about and they were ready to help. I came back to the hotel to move my items to the new unit and Giovanni at the front desk who handled us at check in asked - "Mr. Dubeau, how is your wife? Was the surgery successful? Is there anything I can do?" This is Four Seasons level service. I told him I was worried about getting her to the hotel in a cab - she just had neck surgery. He informed me of the hotel's car service partner and we had a beautiful, SMOOTH RIDING, and clean Suburban pick us up. Wow! I couldn't have felt better about that attention. Further, I spoke to Giovanni about the Geriatric Chair we were having delivered to the hotel. He informed me that this is not uncommon - many patients of NYP visit here and they will ensure the chair is promptly moved to the room. The suite is wonderfully appointed. Plenty of room. The kitchen came in handy and included everything I needed to prepare a few quick meals for her. TV in both the living room and bedroom and had both cable and Samsung Plus, Apple, Netflix and Youtube. That was a great plus. And given my wife's surgery, it was great having a modern walk in shower - no steps. Room was spotless. They do observe environmentally friendly policy regarding room cleaning - which is set on a weekly schedule. This did not concern us. We are neat people. And further, the front desk replaced towels whenever we asked and also came to pick up waste since we were eating in the room daily and filling it up, so to speak. Never any hesitance at all. Lastly, again because my wife's surgery went so well, the post surgical appointments all changed. Suddenly we found ourselves booked here for over a week longer than was required. Sara and I discussed it and she advocated well for us given the medical situation and obtained very favorable terms for early departure so we would not break the bank. Many hotels will not do that. But Sara is compassionate and competent and was absolutely amazing. I had never heard of AKA. I will absolutely come back. In fact, we often stay at the Mandaran Oriental and Trump International when we come to NYC. This hotel and its amazing team, combined with the great value and superb location has just bumped this to the top of our NYC visiting list. Two more shout outs: Moses at the bar. We talked NBA for an hour as I needed a break as my wife slept. He serves up a great martini. And Sharika at the front desk, also a fantastic disposition and so pleasant. I am sure I am missing out on some others, both at the desk and the door. I felt they all were great.

- J5501EZsarac (2/5): Nobody to check into room, no response from the hotel after 3 weeks - Read and judge for yourself. I received an email 2 days before my trip letting me know there would be facade maintenance and to possibly expect noise and obstructed views from 9-5 during my stay. Fine, but, struck me as shady to send the note 2 days before with a 72 hour cancellation policy. I needed to work from the hotel so given this info I might have looked for another place. Day of, my flight lands at 5am, and I head to the hotel to check in. The place is a ghost town. I wait for somebody, anybody, to help, but not only was nobody working the front desk, there was no security or anybody from the hotel FOR OVER AN HOUR before I decided to leave. Who knows when someone showed up eventually. I left after 2 more people came in and we were all flummoxed on what to do. I tried calling the hotel 5x and could see the phone as it was ringing. I leave a voicemail (which was never answered, btw). From the lobby I tried calling the sales line and got through to a person who informed me that since it was the morning of the day after check in (because I booked an extra night to ensure I’d have a spot after arriving early in the morning) they could not alter, cancel, or do anything with my reservation. I was stuck. At this point I was panicked and decided to leave to find a place to crash before important work meetings. Alas, there must have been something going on in the city that evening. I physically had to walk into hotels to inquire about availability because reservation sites don’t let you book for the night before given an early morning check in. I got no after no given hotels were fully booked when thank God a Hilton had an opening. Another hour wandering around New York in the morning after a long flight to find this room. AKA’s General Manager, Lauren Barbot, emailed me later that day to ask when I expected to check in (lol). I explained what happened and guess what? No response. I bumped the email a week later as at this point I never received a call back to my voicemail or response to my email. She never responded and it’s going on 3 weeks. So… good luck if you decide to stay here. Sharing in case my experience is helpful to others deciding. At least the Hilton had several front desk people, a security guard, and I imagine if I called them someone would have picked up or called me back.
