- Golfandtravelfan (8/5): Very good, a little away from the action. - The main reasons I am not going to rate this 5 stars is that it is just not at at most convenient location and that there is nothing to do in the neighborhood. It is 8 minute walk from the nearest metro station, where the big Shinagawa station is 17 minutes away, also possible by the free shuttle bus which goes twice and hour, 5 minutes only. In weekends service a bit more limited. Rooms are good, great bed, shower in bath, which I dont really like, but it was ok. Very quiet hotel, though Japanse are quiet in general. Good cocktails, good burgers, good breakfast, good wifi, very friendly staff. Family market right next door. For the rate of this hotel I would at least consider stying here again as the better located ones are much more expensive.

- 781terencet (2/5): Nightmare hotel - Bonvoy Platium member without upgrade from my 15th floor standard King room with excuse of fully booked but larger room we found were making up on the same floor. Lies! My profile listed preference of room near lobby, that all Bonvoy properties notify it. but Marriott staff not notified and my room was assigned at the dead end of corridor. Asked for afternoon tea at lobby lounge at 16:30 but refused due to close at 17:00. Go to lounge and just want to get a coke and my son stand at the entrance, the indian lady staff immediately said that child need to pay to enter the lounge. The first image of this hotel is hunger for money, that I paid over 135000 yen for two nights. Shuttle bus schedules so called available but frequency is low and not available in the afternoon till 19:30 is the last bus. Walking to Shinagawa station is far away and challenging during raining especially off office hour. Shuttle bus sharing with office tower beside and Japanese from there are chatting very noisy. Complaint to Front Office Assistant Manager, who only offer 1000 points and slightly upgrade to Deluxe King on 11th floor. Thanks for assuring it in my black list and never be there agai in

After a long day, that made a real difference. The room was spotless and well-appointed, with a proper bathtub that made it easy to unwind properly. Breakfast the next morning was equally impressive — a wide variety of options, and the staff were happy to point out their recommendations, which I appreciated. The lounge on the 26th floor was a highlight. The view was simply stunning, and the atmosphere throughout the hotel was notably unhurried — never crowded, always composed. Exactly the kind of stay where you can actually decompress. One pleasant surprise: the hotel sits right next to Gotenyama Park, a compact green space that's perfect for a gentle morning stroll before breakfast. As for access — Shinagawa Station is a short distance away, but the hotel runs a complimentary shuttle bus, so it's no hassle at all. Worth knowing too: a local bus stop just outside the hotel connects directly to Roppongi without any transfers, which turned out to be more convenient than I expected. If you're looking for a Tokyo stay that combines genuine hospitality with a sense of quiet, this is hard to beat.
- romanw871 (10/5): Good business hotel, nice exec lounge on 26th floor - I stayed for 4 nights and was very satisfied. Check in and checkout were both smooth. Room was nice, well equipped, clean. I appreciated access to the lounge on 26th floor, it had good views, was busy but not overcrowded and offered good choices for drinks and everything happy hour - food was always quickly restocked, choices were good, food tasted well. Lounge staff was very professional, friendly and attentive. Gym on the first floor looks a bit temporary, but has a basic equipment and was not very busy. Overall very pleasant experience.

The room is quite small especially I got a truly small king bed room. And the facility is old and the bathroom is really needed to be renovated. There is shuttle bus to Shiganawa station so quite convenient. There is a convenient store near the hotel so can get many things you need.

We can't share a room which is fine. I asked for a connecting room. The rep call the local hotel and he was told there are no connecting rooms. We can only book rooms next to each other. This is insane..Who splits up a family on a vacation? I can only imagine flying all that way and then being told that we can't have rooms next to each other. Are these hotels not used to accommodating families. I have never experienced this!

- 857bent (6/5): Surprising Check-in Experience But Still a Good Value Hotel - I've stayed here a few times and also visited others staying here, so I've been quite familiar with the property over the years. It's an excellent location for access to Haneda Airport and also Tokyo's Yamanote Line and the Shinkansen network. We booked a standard King and although the room was quite compact, it had everything you would expect at a Marriott hotel. The TV in particular is a large new 4K model with dedicated buttons for most streaming services and worked very well. The bathroom is somewhat dated with an integrated bathtub shower, but the shower unit is one of the easier types to operate and the hotel delivers reasonable water pressure. The executive lounge is excellent. Beautiful modern decor and the food selection during the evening cocktail period is of excellent quality and frequently re-stocked. The staff operating the lounge are extremely attentive and welcoming (and have consistently been so for years at this property). When we arrived the lounge was full, so we were advised to wait in our room, and were called when a table opened up after 30 or so minutes. As the lobby floor breakfast restaurant is usually busy (as it is an excellent offering), we opted to spend breakfast in the lounge. The selection is limited, but the quiet atmosphere and views of Tokyo Bay make it up for it. The one issue I encountered was during the check-in process. Japanese law requires that foreign visitors present their passports during check-in, but does not require ID from Japanese nationals, or foreign nationals who live in Japan. Unfortunately, the staff member who checked me in was misinformed about this, and incorrectly demanded that I produce ID even after being informed that I am a resident of Japan. A tense and embarrassing back-and-forth ensued in which the staff member used a derogatory term to refer to foreigners. To calm the situation I begrudgingly presented my ID, but I found the episode very distressing, especially as my wife was also present. During check-out I was informed that the incident had been noted and that management was working to disseminate information amongst its staff. I hope it turns into a positive opportunity for the hotel to polish how it welcomes all kinds of guests in the future.
- TeamSimon1 (10/5): Fantastic Experience - I wanted to leave a positive review because I had read a few bad reviews before our trip. We had a wonderful experience at the Tokyo Marriott. This is a beautiful, clean, well appointed property with top-shelf customer service. We stayed on the 22nd floor and had a wonderful view of west Tokyo, as well as access to the M Lounge on the 26th floor. We enjoyed complementary happy hour appetizers and drinks, as well as breakfast. They call it "continental breakfast" but we considered it a full breakfast. We were thankful for the minibar, and ate lunch and dinner at the lobby restaurant. The food was fantastic. We enjoyed trying out the Japanese Whisky menu, and had the best wagyu steak of our lives.

The staff are incredible and provided the best service in every encounter. The lounge was the best I've seen yet and my room was spacious offering a great view from the 18th floor. Family Mart in the basement area was awesome and loved the free shuttle to Shinagawa station. Will definitely come back again.

The hotel has largish rooms that are well fitted out. The staff are friendly and professional, the restaurant is very good for breakfast and overall a good place to stay in Tokyo. There is a Japanese garden around the hotel that is alsoworthy of a visit.

I paid for my stay personally, out of my own funds. The room had great air conditioning, and the TV had capacity to access several streaming apps, including YouTube, which I appreciated. I had a great breakfast every morning in the hotel restaurant and evening food in the 26th Floor club lounge. I exercised in the fitness room. The man who facilitated my checkout from the hotel was so kind and friendly. He helped me with my luggage outside to the taxi area. As we walked there, a restaurant supervisor with such fervor said, “Good-bye sir. Have a great trip home.” And then, when I drove off in the taxi, the front desk employee bowed to me. I felt so good about the service and employees at the Tokyo Marriott Hotel.

- travelmypassion (6/5): No, No, No and Maybe - No Japanese warmth at this hotel. Most of the workers at the Tokyo Marriot are not Japanese and many do not smile. It is a totally different feel than other Tokyo hotels like the Westin Tokyo. If you are looking for a real Japanese experience, find another hotel. No hotel concierges available. I went many times to ask the concierge a question and usually nobody was there and if somebody was there they were busy. They only had one concierge at a time. No seats available at the Executive Lounge. We went to the lounge around 7:00 pm on a Sunday night and there were no seats available. We were told to give our room number and they would call us when something opened up. I am a Marriot Titanium and Lifetime Platinum and never had this happen to me before. At some hotels like the Conrad Tokyo and the Conrad Osaka you need to make a reservation for the lounge on the weekends to guarantee a spot. The food was not very good and I wouldn’t go out of my way to come back to the lounge. On the positive side the room was spacious and the bed was comfortable but there was a terrible smell from the toilet. The room also had a musty smell and needs a big upgrade. I don’t think it’s worth paying for a City View. There is a large patio which is unusable. If you want a great view just go to the lounge. The room was also noisy from the trains nearby. The Wifi was slow and spotty. I liked the breakfast but the service was not good. Many times we asked for tea and never got it. I saw this happen to other people as well. The servers also walked by and didn’t clean the tables. I also don’t like the location. I much prefer to be in an area that is walkable to shops and restaurants. The hotel shuttle is great to get to the Shinigawa station and is good if you are planning on taking the Shinkansen to other areas in Japan. This is why maybe I would consider staying here again but I’ve heard the Prince Shinigawa hotel has a better location to the Shinigawa train station and is cheaper.
- militarybratSG (8/5): Good value for Tokyo - The hotel is nice with large clean rooms. Good sized rooms for a decent price are hard to find in Tokyo. The staff is very friendly. For tourism, it is far from key things that people may want to see in central Tokyo. That said, if you are ok with the trains, you can catch them easily from the station very near by. We enjoyed the food in the restaurant though the service in the restaurant can be quite slow. There is a convenience story in the basement that is... convenient.

There was only one restaurant working in the hotel and that too with very limited menu. Did not like attitude of hotel staff at restaurant. Very rude and they will ask you to wait rudely if you are even 5 mins early from breakfast open time even if it is ready. Could have been little more courteous. Hotel offers free shuttle service to near by station which was good as there are quite a few eating options near the station.

The executive Club Lounge offers good food and enough seating. Room- I was upgraded to a King room. Great Marriott bed, great bedding, but EXCELLENT down/ feather pillow combo. Oddly enough, the exact pillows I have on my Serta sleeper at home. Rating-5 Bathroom- well, typical electric Japanese toilets made for little persons. Rating-2 Shower- tub with half glass enclosure. Excellent pressure and tons of hot water. Towels were a disappointment for the room, but still a solid Rating -4 Breakfast- Here was another area this place excelled! Egg station, ( although very slow as is typical Japanese) my eggs were perfect more than not. Huge variety of Western, Euro and Asian foods, cereals, fresh fruit, and a large variety of juices/ breads. Wish I could rate it higher-5!! Exec lounge- this is my new favorite lounge in all of Asia. As good as any Ive been in, and better than 95% in Japan, China or Malaysia. Fresh salads, veggies, an Asian noodle bar with daily changes to meat, pizza/ pasta every night, and of special note was a macaroni/ broc/ SHRIMP Salad EVERY NIGHT. I usually loose weight on trips ( a pound a day) I barely lost anything at all! Rating -5++ Location- 4, only because there was no attached shopping mall! So, Im rating this hotel 5 stars overall! Yes, I would and AM going back in May of this ur for two weeks! See ya there!

A short complementary shuttle ride to the subway that will connect you to anywhere else in the city! The kindest service! Delicious breakfast! A club lounge with great food and views! We stayed at three different hotels while in Tokyo and our twin daughters said the breakfast here was their favorite. The breakfast servers and managers were fantastic, especially with the kids. We received a really nice room upgrade and such nice balloons and decorations in our room upon arrival. It was very welcoming and special. There was some confusion with a room service order we placed one night. It was mostly due to the language barrier, so I would be careful when ordering and asking for additions or adjustments - just make sure everything was understood correctly and there are no surprises when the food arrives. The free shuttle runs every 20 minutes. It’s very convenient. We found the station you will be dropped off at was a bit far from other locations of interest, but everything was very accessible if you don’t mind transferring trains. With the kids, we ended up using taxis many times as we were exhausted. There is a picture of a pool in Tripadvisor but there is no access to a Pool. Maybe they used to have one in the past. The gym facilities and sauna were really nice though. The concierge was also very kind and helpful. Overall, we had a really amazing stay and highly recommend this hotel!!!
- U6996DSlindac (8/5): Directions to hotel - Posting directions as we found it confusing when we arrived at the Tokyo Station. We arrived by Shinkansen at the Tokyo Station. From there, you can use your Shinkansen ticket to board the JT local train to Shinagawa. You do not need to buy a separate JT ticket as there are no ticket booths available once you are already in the train area. It is the second stop. Once you get off, go out the west gate, turn left and walk half a block to bus stop #6. It looks like a regular city bus but goes directly nonstop to the Marriott entrance. There is no fee. The rooms either face the railroad side or the quiet side. Note that the hotel phone number goes to the general Marriott reservation center so you are not able to get directions from them.

The desk is no where near the entrance, takes forever to check in and rooms are old and worn out. Located in an office building that on quiet weekends is creepy. Not to mention the trains will keep you up all night from nearby station. Considered an airport hotel, and it’s 30 min taxi, better off staying in better hotel in town. There is nothing around the hotel which is another 30 minutes into town center.

The Japanese corner in the breakfast was especially nice and also the fresh made juices and smoothies. Rooms are large and nice with awesome bed quality, still a refurbish would be nice. The executive lounge is very nice, still food level could improve and not so much focus sweets. - Michael (6/5): - Clean hotel. It is NOT a self contained hotel building. It is part of a larger set of business offices etc. It is basically an upscale business hotel. So, expect what you would see in most Japanese business chains like Toyoku Inn and Alpha in terms of room size, but you are paying 100 to 200 dollars more. Not sure why. King size bed is more like a double size bed. Not much walking around space in the room. Expect loud train noise coming from nearby Shinagawa station. you will need a taxi (4500 to 5000 yen to haneda airport) to get to nearby things--700 yen to shinagawa station. There is a free shuttle that will take you to Shinagawa station but this hotel does NOT have a shuttle to and from the airport. A final positive note: There is no lobby. The "lobby" is the restaurant. However, a staff member allowed us to hangout in the executive lounge on the 25th floor for a couple hours after check out since our flight did not leave until 5 PM. That was nice. If you got cash to blow and there is a mystique about staying at a marriott, then go ahead and stay here. But, truth be told, you can basically get that 350 dollar double room for a hundred dollars at Alpha or Toyoku.
- maylert1993 (10/5): Home comfort in Tokyo - Marriott is very close to my wife office and, importantly, close to Shinagawa station. We can walk comfortably to the station, though the hotel offers a very nice shuttle ride every 20 mins or so. We are very impressed by the hospitality and attentiveness of all staff here from the front to the dining area and at the lounge. They greet you and know you very well as if they have memorized your profile even before your arrival. Overall, we really love all the services, cares, and friendliness Marriott staff have given us all through our two week stay. The room we had is very neat and spacious with the convenience and comfort we can hope for. And the housekeepers have tried their best to keep our room nice and tidy every day. Thank you very much, Marriott, for keeping us warm and comfy like home.

In general, the room was spacious and the service of this hotel was good. During my stay, the room service staff had forgotten to replace towel and to refill teabags. Yet, hotel management attended to customer's request very promptly. I will consider staying in this hotel again.

- AS (6/5): - Nice. Good size room and bathroom. Hotel provides free shuttle to JR Shinagawa Station with reasonable schedule (3 shuttles each hour during most of the day). Within walking distance (around 15 minutes) to JR Shinagawa Station with a small shopping mall and 2 very good supermarkets.

- Verified traveler (6/5): Comfortable room in dated hotel. - Overall OK but was expecting more for the price outside of central Tokyo. The staff was very attentive yet the facilities were lacking. A small understaffed reception area and a run down, separate workout facility put a tarnish on my stay. Happy to report the bed was super comfortable.

The Shinagawa Station is 12 min away on foot but there is also a free of charge shuttle between the hotel and the station. The buffet breakfast is amazing, a bit pricey but if you are Gold Rewards member or higher is at no extra cost.
- Daniel (8/5): Good basic business hotel - Without any major tourist attractions nearby, I would say this is a business hotel. Nearest train station Shinagawa (free shuttle bus) is 10 mins away which is not too bad. We asked for power socket adaptor but not available, seems not a Marriott standard in this aspect. Typical Japanese way of management, what you booked is what you get, no flexibility at all.
