Some lovely restaurants in the area. The hotel restaurant offered a good selection for breakfast. The hotel was clean, quiet and had friendly staff.

I wish they had machines in the hotel instead of service request which gives little flexibility. This is not good for family traveling. We ended up left with dirty laundry to next destination

JustPassingThrough97 (10/5): Out go to hotel in Berlin - Brilliant hotel, large car park underground and with hotel close to SBahn Tiergarten across the street. Very easy to get anywhere and of course to walk downtown. 25 minute walk to Kudamm passed Zoo station. The staff make this hotel, without exception from the chambermaid team to the reception desk and the staff greeting everyone at the breakfast reception, they make sure there are no issues. The spa is lovely, not too busy when we were there and ideal to relax and read in the seating area. A simple sauna and steam room with showers and ice maker. As traditional in German Hotels all nude. My advice is don’t be the one who insists on a costume - other guests will point out this is not acceptable. They mean it! Room ( our choice exec with free bar in the room) is very comfortable, nice mattress and pillows. We understand from speaking to staff the future is uncertain with Novotel not renewing their lease, so what next? We hope a new hotelier steps in because this has become our favourite stay in Berlin. Time will tell but some uncertainty for staff when we were there. We wish them well.
speku2005 (8/5): Good choice for Berlin. - This is a nice hotel, near the Berlin Tiergarten and walking distance to the Ku'Damm and Charlottenburg. The staff were very helpful. The breakfast was fine. The spa was very nice. A solid choice. The S -Bahn goes directly to and from the airport as well.

We can’t wait to return and experience it all over again. The beds were comfortable, the room was cleaned as requested, and overall bright and spacious. The hotel's location is also a significant advantage. The S-Bahn line 3 is conveniently located just across the street, making it easy to explore the city. Additionally, there’s a taxi stand right in front of the hotel, offering further convenience for transportation. The location (Tiergarten ) enhanced our overall experience and made getting around a breeze.

Large spacious room Very quite location Cons There is only one restaurant nearby and one Burger King. We had to dine in at the hotel for dinner which we waited more than half an hour for food. Food choices were limited on the menu. Ordered a Caesar salad which had lettuce (some of them had black spots on it), cherry tomatoes and cheese only. It should come with croutons but none was found.

The suite was very large, bright and cleaned every morning. The mini-bar being restocked daily and being complimentary was a plus. The staff was very friendly and professionnal. The location was perfect as it is right across the street from the S-Bahn Tiergarten station, which we used frequently. We used the nice workout room with sauna on the top level. This was the perfect choice for our family vacation in Berlin. Highly recommend!

KeithBasingstoke (6/5): Great hotel, let down by abysmal free WiFi and crowded breakfast area - Easy to navigate to, big bonus is a large underground car park with lift access directly to reception and other levels. All of the staff, without exception, were simply brilliant: helpful, friendly, speak multiple languages - many hotels would kill to get staff like these Room faced the Tiergarten S-bahn station, so a brilliant location to make quick and easy journeys to whatever bit of Berlin you need to get to. If you like trains, try and get an 'S-bahn facing room'..... Room was generally fine, air-con struggled a bit on the warmest day but much better than many hotels we've visited (are you reading this Novotel Koln?) so sleeping was no problem. Everything worked, really nice bathroom Breakfast was plentiful and mostly well-replenished with a good variety. Unless you're over-demanding, you wouldn't be disappointed.... But 2 issues: the breakfast area is simply too small and crowded (some of the area was set aside, I think, for conference folk or 'something else') and at times the only option was to share a table with complete strangers (and this wasn't the busiest time either) so not ideal if you're shy Other issue was the awful free WiFi, constantly losing the internet connection (which means many Android devices will then disconnect from the WiFi) so it was a constant 'reconnect, reconnect' - and the internet speeds wasn't great. Yes, you could get price-gouged 'premium' WiFi, but in this day and age.....other hotels manage this If you can put aside these issues, I'd recommend this hotel - far enough out so that it's easy to drive to without stress, but only 45-minute walk through the lovely Tiergarten to the Brandenburg gate, or hop on S-bahn literally across the road

Ustun (8/5): - My recent stay at Novotel offered a mixed bag of experiences. From check-in to check-out, the hotel's personnel demonstrated exceptional hospitality and professionalism. They were attentive, accommodating, and always ready to assist with any requests or inquiries. Their friendly demeanor truly enhanced my stay. However, the property itself left much to be desired. While the location was convenient, the hotel seemed a bit outdated and in need of room maintenance. Although the room was clean, it lacked the modern amenities such as a smart TV. Another downside was the limited dining and shopping options within walking distance of the hotel. While the on-site dining options were satisfactory, there were few alternatives nearby for guests looking to explore the local culinary scene or do some shopping.

Wahid (6/5): Location location location - Arrived at Tiergarten station and the hotel was 50 meters across the street so excellent start . Booked for 1 night and 2 more nights as we had booking via a sports company here..in the room the sofa bed was not made so had to wait for that to be done and notice a lack of sockets on room being our main problem in there for 3 people to share . The lifts well never known anything like it. Need your room card to go up but not down so if you go out and forget it have to go reception and get new cards . In the 3 days we stayed 4-5 times they didn’t work and really annoying spending this time to change them. Once leaving the hotel you quickly realise there isn’t anything to eat near by . You have to walk though the park opposite the hotel for a 10min walk to find everything or hop back on the train 1 stop to the same area and the trip costs €2 each way so we walked as whether was nice in the evening The main selling point for this hotel is the location to the station which allows very easy access to wherever you want to go .

Edmund (4/5): Novotel refused to honour price from the booking - The hotel would not honour the price in the hotels.com booking. This is with the hotels.com booking visible to them on the app on my phone. They just shrugged and said 'computer says no'. I'll be staying somewhere else for my trips to Berlin from now on.
Susan (8/5): - The hotel is comfortable and convenient (I had an executive suite). THe bed was excellent and the breakfast was, too, although awfully expensive (29 Euros). THe hotel is across the street from the Tiertgarten S Bahn, very convenient, but also very noisy - from my room I could hear every train arriving and leaving when my window was open. I ran a White Noise all night and that was fine.

Berlin Zoo is close by A park to walk or just sit and people watch Walkable to many shops and eateries Hotel restaurant is really good Cons: You have to walk through a park to get to the shops/eateries and not sure how safe it is at night. Check in is promptly at 3pm. Nothing before.

James (10/5): - The front desk staff was excellent, and the apartment was great for a family of 4, with a cozy little kitchen space and ample space. The pool (part of the reason for our reservation) was closed, so they comped us breakfast the first day. Walkable to a main stip of restaurants and the old town along the river. I would gladly stay there again.
Verified traveler (6/5): - Let us get the negatives out of the way: although the hotel is next to the S-Bahn transit station, there is not much within a 2-minute walking distance. It is in a "boring" city block but at least that makes it a quiet city block. There is no "wow factor" to the room layout, aside from a decent amount of clothes storage space. There are very few power outlets in the room and they are in weird places (e.g. behind the TV and next to the door). More places (hooks/racks) to hang up towels in the bathroom would be nice too. For positives, the staff are very friendly but also professional. Unlike another Novotel, staff are dressed in uniform so you knoe who's working there. While other hotels charge you to store luggage, they give you complimentary beverages at the bar!!! Lobby is grand and inviting, with clean restrooms while you wait for check-in. Again, it's across the street from the Tiergarten S-Bahn station so it is only 10-15 minutes ride from Olympic Stadium in the west or from Mitte (downtown) in the east. There are also sandwiches, snacks and alcoholic beverages in vending machines found on certain floors, for those who have cravings in the middle of the night. So, the lobby is nice 5-stars but more investment at the room level would make this a 5-star hotel.

Steffen (8/5): - The hotel is very near the S- Bahn so travelling around is very easy. Your can also walk in 15 Minutes to the Bahnhof Zoo and all the shops. My room was quiet and on the 5 floor. Hotel staff very helpful. It's also possible to rent bicycles. Didn't like the plastic spoons with attached tea which they use instead if tea bags and reusable metal spoons. It's not good for the environment and the tea was not tasty.

Peter (8/5): Overall great but menu sadly lacking - Overall the hotel is excellent. Efficient, friendly staff and very clean. My only gripe was the menu for food. I only ate one night in the hotel. There was a very small selection of main meals and no option for sides. I ordered chilli con carne which was literally a bowl of chilli - no rice or tacos. Similarly a colleague ordered currywurst which was a chopped up sausage in sauce - no fries.

H (6/5): - Access to public transport was very good. Direct train to the airport and within a few stops to the centre. Safe area. Despite double glazing some noise from the train station which is across the road. The room was extremely hot We turned off the air con and we had to open the windows without unfortunately much difference in the temperature. The mattress was so soft that made our sleep uncomfortable. Coffee bags were not replaced during our whole stay. Good play area that kept the children occupied. Breakfast was good with good variety.

Damian (8/5): Ideal base for enjoying Berlin. - Easy check in, staff very friendly and spoke excellent English. Room very comfortable and clean with mini bar and aircon. Next to Tiergarten SBahn Station and on major bus route so very well connected. Walking distance from the Zoo and next to the Tiergarten itself - only complaint about the area was the lack of shops to pick up snacks, water etc once the kiosk in the station closed. Decent variety at breakfast, food was good quality although a little expensive in the main bar /restaurant but service was quick and attentive. Would definitely stay again.

Proximity of the metro makes exploring the city easy at minimum cost. For stretching our legs, a park is at walking distance, the zoo is not far and the aquarium a little bit further. A couple of landmarks are also at walking distance.

There was a great area where our kids could play in the lobby and we could enjoy a drink at the bar. The location right next to the train station was excellent for exploring Berlin and a large park opposite was ideal for a long stroll. The breakfast was amazing so much choice and everything fresh. Great location next to the S-Bahn stop and a nice walk through the park to the nearest U-Bahn stop. Great service too. We checked in early, but the room wasn't ready, they took our bags and offered us umbrellas for the rain. Beds were very nice memory foam, the room was very dark, and very quiet. Wish we stayed more than one night.
