sue (10/5): - This property was perfect for us staying 1 night in Munich. We flew in from the US arrived around 8am, left our bags with the friendly hotel staff, walked to a cafe and had amazing coffee and pastries, walked a bit further to the old city area which is full of shopping, food, old buildings including the old city hall on Marienplatz with the mechanical clock "glockenspiel" show twice per day, and several churches and the public market area where we tried herring salad and a lovely bottle of Stellenbosch Shiraz Rose at Nordsee Seafood (friendly staff), then we headed back to the Drei Lowen as we were told our rooms would be ready by noon, and they were! After a perfect shower and nap which was easy because the hotel is very quiet and the blackout curtains work wonders as well as the Air Conditioning, we walked to the old city area again for dinner at the classic Augustiner Stammhaus restaurant. Chef's Kiss for the delicious foods we ordered along with an Augustiner Weissbier... yum! After walking back to the hotel, we had a drink in the adorable bar and lounge area before getting a great night's sleep. As with most old cities, there is much construction happening everywhere. The street on which the Drei Lowen is located is no exception. We did not hear it and were not bother by it at all. The local streets are not the cleanest but we felt safe in the area. We were able to walk about 4 minutes from the hotel to catch a train to Regensburg which was a lovely ride.

John (8/5): Relaxing and enjoyable short break in Munich. - Perfect location for the city centre, Hauptbahnhof and connection to the airport. Within walking distance of the city centre landmarks, tour buses etc. Plenty of places to eat and drink within the immediate vicinity. Hotel was nice, room allocated was comfortable and clean. No complementary bottled water provided. Bottled water was €5. The breakfast provided was good with hot and cold options provided. Staff were friendly and helpful (I needed someone to look at the TV in my room). Definitely recommend the hotel to anyone on a short visit to Munich.

Verified traveler (10/5): Great if you need to be near the train station - The hotel and rooms are very clean and nice. Front desk was very quick and helpful. I note that some of the reviews comment on the neighborhood. The area around Munich Hbf is certainly grimy. This is a hotel for staying the night connecting through the train station. If you are a tourist, I would advise staying in the Altstadt, no question.

It is a bed, and nice shower close to the station, so for the price it is ok. Note the area around the station is not dangerous but looks that way. It is also dirty, noisy, and very husy.
Ross (10/5): - Very good bed and bathroom. Very clean. Quiet with the windows closed. Air conditioning was very effective. Area around the front of the hotel at night is unfortunately prone to people yelling at you for no particular reason possibly due to substance abuse. This is not the fault of the hotel.

The staff was so rude he refused to communicate with us. All he said was Expedia must had made a mistake, then he refused to communicate further. The hotel is closed to two strip clubs, stay away.

There is plenty of great dining in the area (especially if you like Mediteranean) and and charming little brewery (Schloss) a couple of blocks away. The LIDL grocery is a 5 minute walk. The breakfast was excellent with fantastic coffee. This was a great option for my Munich visit. I had ZERO complaints.

Ross (6/5): Disappointing - I was disappointed with my stay. I am really surprised at the hotel’s four star rating. On a positive, the bed was comfortable. Staff on check-in not welcoming, staff when checking out were okay. Staff on collection of luggage later in the day, again quite unfriendly, also made me locate the luggage room myself and didn’t even check that that the number on my receipt matched that on the bag. How secure is their left luggage room? A previous guest had half eaten a pack of M&Ms from the mini bar. I brought this to the attention of reception evening staff and was told to come back in the morning. In the morning the reception staff simply fixed the pack with a staple (Photo attached) and gave it back to me to return to the mini bar! The toilet smelt of stale urine and had dried urine splatters on the underside of the toilet seat. The shower head desperately needs a deep clean or replacing. There was no kettle, no tea or coffee making facilities in the room. The television is in the corridor between the bedroom and toilet. So the tv cannot be seen from the bed. But. as I said, the bed was comfortable and I did sleep well.

The room was never cleaned or vacuumed the whole two weeks. It was occasionally loud with doors slamming. Hotel is very close to transportation. Easy to get around from hotel. Hotel does not have a restaurant or bar. They do have a breakfast area that serves food. It's not worth the money. The lady who cleans and helps with coffee machine very helpful and nice. The man making the eggs is very rude. The eggs are not that good for the attitude he gives. Honestly the price, location and front desk help makes this a good hotel. Would stay again based on this

The rooms were not sound proof, could hear every footstep above and noise from outside. Also the thermostat was not user friendly. Would not stay again.

Inflexible- check out at 11 and by 10:45 my keycard stopped working. Hotel had a massive water leak in the entrance, which froze and turned to ice. Sketchy AF neighborhood. Felt unsafe. If you are Jewish or LGTBQ : stay away from this place, you aren’t welcomed in the neighborhood.

Gentleman at the front desk was very prompt and took our concerns very seriously even though he was busy with the hotel being sold out. Lots of good food, shopping, transport, and sights just a short walk away.

Eric (8/5): Second time staying here and would return - I had stayed here before and did return, We had a one night stay and the hotel was good and the staff were excellent. It is close to the main train station and there are a few strip clubs up the street so the outside noise went through most of the night. Closing the windows worked well to keep the noise out.

Marlys (10/5): Good choice in several ways. - Very close to the train station and only about 10 minutes to Marienplatz. Our room was large, with lots of storage and a big bathroom. An alcove served as a makeup station, or would also be a great desk. We enjoyed their generous breakfast one morning of our stay. The desk staff as exceptionally helpful, and even printed out our revised rail schedule for us.

The hotel is well maintained and the room I was allocated towards the back of the hotel was very spacious, comfortable and clean. All of the staff were friendly and accommodating. Then accused us of having three people in our room instead of two, because a friend helped us get the sick person to their room. When I asked what time I should arrange a cab for my morning flight, this same person told me he could estimate that until he knew the traffic the morning of my flight. Then he explained I had to schedule the cab a day in advance. What a difficult person!

There is local road construction that made us have to search for access to the hotel though we knew where it was. Service was good and its location is very good. There are numerous dining opportunities in the neighbourhood that span from simple cafes to higher end dining.
Molly (6/5): Big room but not the best location - Had air conditioning but it didn’t really work so the room was always hot. In a strange block that I wouldn’t recommend. An employee knocked three times on our door at 8:45 in the morning but not sure what he needed. Close to the train station was a plus. They wouldn’t let us check in too early but would hold our luggage.
Serena (6/5): - The property was okay overall, check in was excellent as we could check in when we arrived at 11am, room and bathroom was a good size. The service of the staff was excellent and the location was really convenient to the station and not a far walk from the main square and in the day they leave out fresh pastries for guests which was a nice touch However the beds were uncomfortable, the AC was so bad and only cooled the area directly under it, the room wasn’t filthy but it wasn’t really clean either. The area felt a little unsafe as it seemed we were on the edge of the ghetto and was quite busy but we are right next to the station so expected I suppose I wouldn’t really rate it as a 4 star either
Hitesh (8/5): - The best thing about this hotel was the breakfast, a cook makes custom omelettes for you which I thought was a great touch, plenty of options, decent breakfast. Down point- no kettle or tea coffee facilities in rooms. Also hallways are very poorly maintained, need to be re carpeted and painted. Good location, but AC shuts off after 2 hours?
MARK (4/5): Wrong room!! - I foolishly didn’t check as I arrived later than planned and was in a hurry - but I booked a decent double and got a single. The area around the hotel is a bit down at feel. At the time if writing, there are major works going on around the main station so that there is no vehicle access to the Schillerstraße from that side. At first glance the pedestrian access also looks to be blocked - but there is a way through (July 2024).

Where this place lets itself down is their ‘customer service’ that is rude or non existent. Theresa (4/5): - The Hotel was clean and main lobby area was very nice as was the dining room. There was only 1 small elevator for 5 floors. The rooms were clean but the frig hairdryer and air were ancient and did not work properly. When we ask they said there was no one on duty to fix it. Spent the entire night sweating because it was warm outside even with the window open. I would not recommend.
Megan (10/5): - The staff were fanatic and so helpful. Happy to help me and gave me some advise on where to go. No real dining spots around where it is hit was a 20 min walk to a decent place To be.

M (6/5): Decent 3* but wouldn't stay again - Decent 3* hotel. Not in the best area, red light area 50yds down the road, lots of noisy construction going on right outside the hotel (starting at 7am). Air con Lowestoft temp was 19'c and shut itself off after a few hours. Lots of hairs and dust in the bathroom. Shower good. Bed smallish, duvet didn't quite cover it. Dirty towel left on floor despite replacing with new one. No fridge but complementary water and juices in room. No blind in bathroom, just frosted glass, overlooked by several windows. I wouldn't stay here again.
Tamir (8/5): - The area around the hotel was blocked due to constructions which made the walk from and to the station very long. The staff were helpful and nice.
Jesus (10/5): - Hotel was good. A lot of construction was going on on the street and between the hotel and the station.
Gillian (10/5): - Breakfast was good value for money. Excellent selection of hot and cold food. Well worth the money.
Thomas (4/5): - Dirty room with mould and dusty. Very noisy and could hear neighbouring rooms use the bathroom. This hotel is not worthy of its 4 star rating.
Jeffrey (4/5): - There was a faulty hairdryer that caused a small fire and a fuse to short. Manager completely unapologetic, was more interested in removing traces of burn than anything else. Faulty cable could have electrocuted me…staff uninterested. King size bed means king size bed, not 2 single beds crammed together. Staff both at reception and restaurant lacking any client services experience or training. More personality in a rock. Area appalling: strip joints, gold pawnbrokers and kebab shops abound. Avoid this hotel, one step up from a hostel. 2 star at best, not what I booked! Expedia needs to do a better job of vetting its hotels, I filtered in 4/5 starts…..this hotel is nowhere in that vicinity.
carroll (10/5): - Excellent location for traveling. Spotless property with nicely appointed rooms and spacious bathroom. Very good breakfast buffet with many choices. Only drawback is the language barrier. All correspondence with the hotel is by email so you need a translation app. On site no problem, desk staff all speak English.
