• tracey (5/5): Would not stay again due to exhaustion after 8 nights of poor interrupted sleep. - I based this review solely on the staff it would be 5+++. They are all exemplary, kind, caring, competent, efficient. Great location, big rooms, plentiful bottled water, good mattress and pillows, fast wifi Unfortunately our room did not allow for a good night's sleep which made the hotel a pretty bad experience for us. We stayed in room 1902 which has a window which lets in outside light 24/7. There is no curtain or any way to cover it so as soon as the sun comes up (about 6am) the room is flooded with light and the lights from the city light up the room all night. There was not another room in the 'same category' available and maintenance could do nothing to cover the window. The room is configured with the bed against the wall adjacent to the next door shower. When our neighbor showered it was so loud right next to our heads that it felt like it was in the room. The first few days it was not a big problem but we had to extend and couldn't move rooms due to an injury and the people who checked in later showered 5-6 times a day and all night long. Last night they woke us with a 1:00am shower that lasted 1/2 hour. By 2:45am they were back in the shower for another 20 minutes. Then at 9:00am another 1/2 hour shower with singing. It was relentless. It is not the fault of the compulsive shower guests it is the fault of the hotel having such an intrusive poorly considered layout and no soundproofing. We also had sheets that did not cover the mattress pad one night and had to remake the bed ourselves to cover the whole bed and the next night noticed (what looked like blood) stains on the clean sheets they had just put on. Would not stay again due to our exhaustion after 8 days of poor interrupted sleep. So many other good options at this price point.

• Hana (4/5): I would only stay here as a last resort. - Everyone at the front desk was very nice. The rooms look nothing like the pictures. We had several friends all staying here for the weekend and all our rooms were the same. No coffee machine, no robe, no slippers, no iron or ironing board in the rooms. My shower had a steam feature that did not work and the wall heater was jutting out from the wall. There were holes where I’m assuming art used to be and all the furniture is in rough shape. Also the current art in the walls are these creepy portraits that look like they were done on an old smart phone cause they’re blurry/pixelated. Finally coffee is available early in the morning but they remove it by 10 am so you’re SOL if you want some coffee to get your day going.

• markbX3836GM (10/5): The best hotel experience that I can remember. - The only issue I see with my stay at the Hotel on Rivington early last month, is that the quality of everything, especially the service provided by the staff is beyond anything I can ever recall and would like to thank Jessica and Andy for being so wonderful. From the moment I called a few hours before when I was at the airport to inquire about a confirmation for a room upgrade I had paid for when booking the room online and Jessica answered with her incredibly friendly tone, I could tell that they stay was going to be to our liking. She was so attentive and went above and beyond answering all my questions and made sure that I understood everything. I really wish more hotels not only trained their staff this well and the staff clearly are very happy with the work they are doing, they are proud and it really shows. From now on, I will only be staying at the Hotel on Rivington when I am not forced to stay elsewhere in NYC and it has everything to do with this most recent experience. The room was clean and tidy, there was even a very nice letter wishing my girlfriend a Happy Birthday which was not necessary but noticed by the staff and its those little details that really make guests feel special. I would like to once again give a special thank you to Jessica and the rest of the staff at the hotel who care so much and made our stay in NYC beyond special.
• Loc (8/5): - Clean property, nice view of the street below from 5th floor. The person manning the registration desk on 4/20 10:30am was not professional. When i asked whether someone has found a wool hat that i lost on 4/19. I asked whether there is a lost and found. He brushed us off, saying he does not have access, saying we have to wait for him to write an email to his superior about lost and found. This is ridiculous. I have to insist that we are checking out, i can’t believe that such a simple ask is so hard for him. After 15 mns he talked to somebody, then opened a drawer on his desk, then got an envelope and pulled out my hat. It could have been done much faster. The lost and found drawer is right next to him !,,

On a very warm night, not only did the HVAC break down, but also the room heated up to the high 80s. The staff was very apologetic and partially refunded our payment and gave us a free breakfast. Nonetheless, we didn't sleep well.

Perfectly situated in the heart of the Lower East Side, the hotel offers stunning, unobstructed Manhattan skyline views that immediately set the tone for a memorable stay. The sleek, modern design and floor-to-ceiling glass walls create a bright, airy atmosphere, and the spacious accommodations feel like a true luxury in New York City. My room featured beautiful finishes, a soaking tub, and incredibly comfortable bedding that made it hard to leave in the morning. What truly made the experience exceptional, however, was the outstanding service. Karina and Jessica were absolutely wonderful from start to finish. They were warm, attentive, and genuinely invested in making sure my stay was perfect. Whether offering neighborhood recommendations or assisting with special requests, they handled everything with professionalism and kindness. Their hospitality made me feel welcomed and valued. With its prime downtown location near SoHo, Tribeca, Nolita, and the East Village, plus its vibrant surroundings filled with incredible food and culture, Hotel on Rivington is a fantastic choice. I can’t wait to return.

Everyone was so welcoming and helpful. Wine social was nice. I didn’t eat breakfast there so my room credit went to waste. I would have preferred money off my stay. My toilet ran and clogged up. Unfortunately some in an adjacent room decided to play loud music and smoke in their room. The hotel staff was helpful by giving me ear plugs and sprayed deodorizer in the room. The housekeeping cane so late everyday. One time my room was not cleaned until 5 pm.

I think the hotel could have a better lobby area that someone could sit, have coffee and do some work on a laptop. The gym facility could also be a little better, some of the machinery was not working, specially the treadmill, it has an issue with the running belt.

The subway is also just a quick 2–3 minute walk, making it super easy to get around the city. The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming, which made our stay even better. Our room was spacious, comfortable, and had amazing city views, plus a balcony that really elevated the experience. We’ll definitely be staying here again the next time we’re in New York!

The hotel is perfectly located in the heart of the Lower East Side, a vibrant neighborhood buzzing with great bars, restaurants, and shops that added energy to our trip without ever feeling overwhelming or noisy. The staff was always ready to give me directions or just stop for a chat, even though my English isn't great—they were incredibly patient and friendly. The position at 107 Rivington Street offers unbeatable access to SoHo, East Village, Chinatown, and excellent subway lines like Delancey St and Essex St just minutes away, making it easy to explore NYC; I highly recommend it to everyone—clean, comfortable rooms and that lively yet safe vibe make it ideal for couples.

• Marco (3/5): Disappointing. - I checked in fine, but I had to pay for a few hours of extra checkout time, though I felt that the hotel owed me (see more below). TWICE the room service put the wrong sheets in my bed (they put in comforter covers instead of king-size sheets). They did it once, but then did it again after having been told NOT to do it. After that, I kept the room private for the remaining 5 days of my stay, because I would NOT take that chance again. Also, the smoke detector malfunctioned/broke down, emitting a loud chirp in the middle of the night for no valid reason, waking me up and disrupting my sleep. I was not offered any extras (like the additional checkout time that I requested) to make up for my troubles. Also, the hangers for my clothes were too few, cheap and half broken, and the closet was cramped and insufficiently spaced. I will not go to this hotel again, not will I recommend it.

• 843adinaf (10/5): Why stay anywhere else. - Great great hotel. I will always stay here. I love the lower east side. Less tourists. People actually live there! :-) Easy access to subway. Walk to so many things. Giant rooms relative to the city and price. One of our best meals was the Pilipino restaurant next door. Complimentary happy hour if the bar is closed. And really great cocktails at the bar when it's open. Staff are top notch. Great recommendations and so friendly and welcoming. Dery made our trip extra easy and special. It was like coming home every time we walked into the lobby.

We did experience a couple of issues when it came to cleaning, but these were well addressed and managed by Sara. We would also like to recognise the excellent service from Karina and Tania, who were especially attentive during our stay. The hotel is located in a lovely, lively area with easy access to a variety of shops, cafés, and more. As for the premises themselves, they do need some renovation, but this did not stop us from having a wonderful stay.

After reading some of the reviews regarding the view, we have been lucky as the view was breathtaking on 17th floor. We wanted to recognise the service from Karina and Tania who were extra attentive during our stay. The coffee roastery and ramen restaurant round the corner on Ludlow are excellent. We did have a couple of issues when it came to cleaning but this was well addressed and managed efficiently by Sara. As to premises itself, the rooms need renovating but that did not stop us of having a lovely stay.

• sarahfO3222KA (2/5): Bad all around - This hotel should not be considered a 4 star hotel. The WiFi was awful our entire trip. Though the room was large, it was not equipped with any useable space. It was all dead space and any furniture and fixtures were extremely old. The hot water in the shower never got warmer than Luke warm - the shower had two shower heads, one spewed cold water and the other, semi warm. Despite being a “luxury” hotel, the room did not have a full length mirror, only a vanity mirror in the bathroom. The TVs are likely from 2010. There was no place to put a suitcase in the room (other than the couch) and there were three closet spaces, but only one was useable. The gym was a tiny little closet with half broken equipment. And the bar was closed multiple nights it was supposed to be open (and it is always closed Sundays and mondays). The breakfast offering was pitiful. I cannot find anything good to recommend about this hotel.

From the very beginning, the team at the hotel was incredibly supportive and professional. They were attentive, responsive, and genuinely invested in helping bring the event to life. Our guests were in awe of the venue, and the penthouse truly elevated the entire experience. It felt both elegant and welcoming, making it an ideal setting for a wellness gathering. I’m so grateful to the Hotel on Rivington team for their collaboration and hospitality. I would highly recommend this venue to anyone looking to host a special event in New York City, and I look forward to working with them again in the future.

The property has a modern, cozy feel with spacious rooms and the complimentary drinks were a nice touch. What truly made our stay memorable though was the hospitality, and specifically Dery at the front desk. He went above and beyond to make us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. He was super friendly and personable, took the time to get to know us, and shared fantastic local recommendations. Karina was so kind as well. It’s clear this hotel values great service and creating a welcoming atmosphere. We had an amazing time during our stay in NYC!

There are some nice views to be had, to depending on your room. Bathroom lighting seemed a little too dim but that’s really my only quibble. The staff were also friendly and accommodating. Speaking of the staff: Quick shoutout to Karleah! We had a nice chat about Portland and traveling. Thanks for whiskey sour and the good vibes, Karleah!

We requested a room with a balcony and were given a room with a balcony that was out-of-service. Because we had arrived in the late evening they weren’t able to switch us immediately. By 11am the next morning we were in a new room with a working balcony. From that point onward it was nothing but smooth sailing. The location feels unbeatable when coupled with the views from the rooms and your access to so much of the city. Clean, efficient, affordable. Shoutouts to Karina and Dery at the front desk for their endless help throughout our 4 night stay.

• 622seana (10/5): Great hospitality on Rivington St - An oil leak in my building and loss of heat and hot water prompted me to find a local hotel to escape to. I am happy to recommend the Hotel Rivington with a friendly and competent front desk and a comfy bar restaurant with an excellent burger. The bartender, Karleah makes a great drink and I plan to return. Karleah I learned only works on Thursdays but the food is good quality and reasonably priced whatever day you go.

The room was gigantic for New York City, which immediately set it apart and made the stay feel relaxed and comfortable rather than cramped. Everything was spotless, well maintained, and thoughtfully laid out — it was clear cleanliness is taken seriously here. The staff were consistently friendly and professional, but a special mention goes to Tania at breakfast. She has such a beautiful, cheerful disposition and truly made mornings a pleasure. Her warmth and attentiveness added a personal touch that made the stay feel special. I would come back to this hotel just to visit her! Overall, this hotel delivers on space, cleanliness, and service — three things that are not always easy to find together in NYC. I would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable, well-run hotel in a great location.

She was extremely personable and pleasant. We stayed longer than intended because we were having great conversation with Kit. We ordered the buffalo wings, which were very good. Stanze spaziose, staff molto cortese, costi abbordabili - Albergo ben posizionato, a poche decine di metri da una stazione della Metro, per cui si può arrivare praticamente ovunque senza problemi e in poco tempo. Con una passeggiata di 10 minuti si arriva a Little Italy e Chinatown oppure, dal lato opposto, alla zona del Ponte di Brooklyn. Le camere sono spaziose e confortevoli, il bagno ampio e funzionale. Al mattino, vicino al banco della reception, c'è del buon caffe, thè e cioccolata calda a disposizione dei clienti, a volontà e gratuiti. Ed è una gran cosa. Al pomeriggio, nello stesso punto ci sono vino rosso, bianco e rosato a disposizione dei clienti, anche in questo caso gratuitamente e la qualità dei vini è buona. All'arrivo, abbiamo ricevuto un credito da spendere al bar o per la colazione. Un omaggio gradito, non so se sia consuetudine o se sia stato determinato dal fatto che il nostro era un soggiorno piuttosto lungo. Lo staff è cortese e disponibile. Spesso ho dovuto chiedere che la camera fosse pulita, perché l'addetto/a l'aveva saltata. Nessun problema, hanno provveduto subito, a qualsiasi ora. Il bar fa degli orari un po' strani, che non ho ancora capito. In ogni caso, non è sempre aperto. La colazione è misera. Non vale il costo: ci sono alcune brioche e paste, di salato quasi nulla, un solo tostapane per cui bisogna mettersi in coda per tostare una fetta di pane... niente a che vedere con le tipiche colazioni americane, per cui sconsiglio di spendere soldi per questo. Nei dintorni ci sono bar e negozi dove si può fare un'ottima colazione, spendendo meno.

• scottlB9294GC (10/5): Amazing rooms, amazing location, amazing service! - I’ve stayed at Hotel on Rivington a few times over the last year, and have to say that it really has it all — amazing rooms with nice views, amazing location in the Lower East Side - surrounded by countless delicious restaurants (Izakaya Juraku, Ramen Ishida, Gotham Burger, Pretty Ricky’s, Caffe Vita all within a block away, etc.) - but the best part about this hotel is the service! Everyone at the front desk always goes out of their way to make your stay the most hospitable that it can be. Briana and Andy made my day with extra-exceptional service on my most recent stay. The staff here are just the best every time! I stay in many hotels throughout the year, and Hotel on Rivington is one that I never want to leave — even after a more extended stay when I’m missing my own bed. This place is just all-around awesome.

• Steven (9/5): Views, bagels, cocktails, and city walks - Location was superb for walking around the lower east side. Good subway connections getting around the rest of the city. Also about 1 km from East River running path. Room had great views and I am glad I paid for the views and the extra space. Only small things. I would have liked to have been able to open the windows and the shower door didn't close properly. Coffee in the lobby was a bucket of brown, a rare reminder that NYC is in fact in America. Not everyone loves good coffee and there are great options within a short block.
• Martin (3/5): Never returning , I don’t think black guest are wanted at the hotel. - The design/aesthetic Clerk charged me and additional 100 dollars at check in. I’ve been traveling for years and I understand if’s at the discretion of the employee. I felt pre judged. I asked another guest if they were charged and in fact they were not.
