The kitchen was well equipped with pots, cutting board, knife, plates, cutleries, etc. Kitchen towels and clingwraps were also provided. We also loved the dual style - 2 western beds and 2 tatami beds (Ryokan style).

Close to major station, food and local attractions Easy luggage transfer options Family room offered adequate space for 4 with 2+ cases each. Right next to elevator but heard nothing from other guests. Coin laundry with note exchange machine plus hanging rack in wardrobe. No need to BYO pyjamas, they are offered at reception area. Nothing major. Can hear the street noise with windows open, fine when shut though and air con works well for circulation. Only 2 door keys per room so if you have a larger family doing separate outings, key management gets tricky (lights/toilet won’t work if anyone stays back in room without key). Don’t leave suitcases on bed if you want fresh sheets. Not an issue as we didn’t need them changed for a 4 night stay, but the night staff didn’t explain how the room cleaning worked when we checked in.

• Sheila (7/5): Perfect for families - Big rooms for a Tokyo hotel and relatively nearby Shinjuku station. Kids friendly hotel and the luggage storage and delivery to the airport was perfect. The beds were quite hard and the day the beds needed to be cleaned and made we just got our bed stuff folded on it and we needed to still make our beds after a long day.

Staff were so lovely and helpful always offering a greeting or a suggestion for activities for the day, some great restaurant suggestion’s. Big thanks for Ammi and Pierson (I hope I haven’t got the names wrong) for making our first time in Tokyo enjoyable. Very close walking distance to Shinjuku station, lots of cafes and food courts and restaurant options. Not a lot of washing machines or driers for 14 floors of accomodation.

• Shawn (7/5): Good idea, but poor design execution. - The room was clean and the hotel staff were excellent. We booked a room for 4. Two single beds were basic. The other two beds were Ikea level mats on the floor. I understand that there is a traditional element to this, but it was the poorest layout of the three Mimaru's we stayed at on this trip.
• Livia (9/5): Great hotel near but not close to Shinjuku station - A clean, modern apartment-style hotel that comfortably fit two adults and two teenagers. Simple and well-designed, with great amenities including slippers, toiletries, luggage forwarding, and reliable WiFi — same thoughtful touches as the Mimaru brand delivers elsewhere. What we liked: Spacious enough for a family of four, spotlessly clean, and the in-room extras made the stay easy. Luggage forwarding handled on-site was a genuine convenience. Close to Shinjuku which is a transit hub to the rest of Tokyo, where there are a lot of shops and restaurants. What to know before you book: Beds and pillows are quite firm — worth knowing if you’re a light sleeper or have back sensitivities. Storage is minimal, just a small hanging rack at the entrance, so plan to live out of your suitcases. The bigger consideration is location. The hotel is about a 15-minute walk from Shinjuku Station — which sounds manageable until you factor in that Shinjuku is one of the most complex train stations in the world, spanning several city blocks. Every outing requires building in extra time just to navigate the station itself. The surrounding area has little in terms of restaurants or attractions, so you’ll be relying on Shinjuku as your hub for almost everything. A 7-Eleven and nearby convenience stores help for essentials.
• Judy (8/5): good place to stay with family especially with kids with more space. The main shinjuku station is still a 15 minute wal - I liked how staff spoke english and was very friendly It was still about 15 minutes walk to man shinjuku station

• Marie-Sophie (10/5): Excellent hebergement avec un emplacement ideal - Excellent emplacement a 10 min à pied de la gare de shinjuku, de nombreux restaurants accessibles à pied et 7-eleven et Lawson à proximite directe. L’hébergement est spacieux, bien agencé et confortable tout en étant typique du japon avec un grand tatami. Il y a des machines à laver, le service de transport de bagages (c’est réglé en 5 minutes) et vous pouvez également acheter votre Suica ici si c’est le premier hotel dans lequel vous arrivez. Nous étions avec un bébé de 10 mois et cet hebergement fut idéal dans notre cas. Il faisait un peu frais dans les chambes et la clim reversible fait beaucoup de bruit la nuit donc il faut choisir entre calme ou température plus elevée.

• sincas3 (8/5): Good size rooms and good location - Stayed here in February 2026 with my wife and 4 year old son as MIMARU was recommended for having good size family rooms and this was definitely the case. The room came with 4 beds, a kitchenette, small wardrobe, bathroom including a bath and a fridge and microwave. The location was good. Different stations were between 8-15 min walk but the main entrance to Shinjuku JR station seemed about 15 mins walk. A good breakfast place near the park was a regular for us with pancakes etc. There is a park with a playground for young kids about 5-6 min walk away. The hotel has a laundry but we found the dryer's to be very slow and rough on the clothing. Staff were helpful and nice. Convenient stores located very close. Would stay here again if we got a good deal. We found this on sale and the price was good but may depend on timing of your visit. Shinjuku was a good central location to explore from but the station is huge and confusing at times.
• Jenny (10/5): Wonderful and welcoming. - A lovely apartment hotel in a great location. We really appreciated the kitchenette. And the front desk staff were so helpful and kind. A great spot for our first family visit to Tokyo. Beds were a bit firm for our liking.
• Chillinsky (9/5): The most perfect family spot in Kyoto! - Loved the room and amenities in the room. Easy to get to subway and transit. Walkable to major tourist attractions. The only nice to has would’ve been a restaurant in the hotel, but we knew that wasn’t part of the property and it was great to hop around town for food!

The location is slightly further from the station
