- 428varvarag (10/5): A Truly Special Evening Thanks to Jordan - Our experience at Gusto Restaurant in the Clayton Hotel Liffey Valley was nothing short of truly special, and one we will remember for a long time. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed, but what really made our evening unforgettable was Jordan. He was an absolute star — incredibly polite, attentive, and genuinely friendly. Despite the restaurant being busy, he went out of his way to find us a perfect table, making sure we were comfortable and well looked after from the very beginning. Jordan’s warm personality and easy conversation made the whole experience feel relaxed and personal. He struck that rare balance of being professional while also being wonderfully chatty, making us feel like valued guests rather than just another booking. The highlight of the evening was how he helped make my mum’s birthday so special. It was such a thoughtful surprise when he brought out a birthday dessert, and then — to our delight — the entire team of waiters joined in to sing for her. It created such a joyful, heartfelt moment that meant so much to all of us. The food, atmosphere, and service were all excellent, but it was Jordan’s kindness and attention to detail that truly elevated the night into something memorable. He is a real credit to the restaurant and the hotel. We left with full hearts, big smiles, and wonderful memories. Thank you for such a beautiful experience — we will definitely be back!

I stayed here whilst visiting for a family funeral so was very stressed, but Phil was incredibly helpful sorting out a booking mix up for me. Bar & food were lovely, Breakfast was 10/10, and the gym & spa were excellent. Room was MASSIVE and very comfortable.

- 972CC (4/5): bed was lumpy and hollow in the middle with springs digging into your back. - Location amongst an industrial estate with shopping mall and starbucks within 5mins walk. Hotel itself is tired and in dire need of renovation. Despite it being low season no early check in was accommodated and we were so tired after our journey, floor was noisy with kids running up and down, bed was lumpy and hollow in the middle with springs digging in your back. No basic amenities such as toothpaste was offered. The pool was heated but the lockers were mostly broken with no door and no locks (so bring your own or risk theft). Would not recommend.
- adamcW8932TP (6/5): I dont think ill revist - I stayed there overnight with my 14 year old. The room although a "delux" may have been the size but honestly I wouldn't call it a delux. I had high standards but the bathroom looked like it hadn't been cleaned, the bath was covered in soap scum. She wanted to go to the pool, and we tried using the disabled facilities. It was more like everything was forgotten. The shower was leaking through where the control dial should have been but that was just a hole with what looked like mold. The room itself id be surprised anyone cleans it. Yellow floor. Absolutely disgusting. In the end we gave up as I was having to lean against the door as it didn't lock either. I'm sorry but no I won't be going back. Which is a shame as the staff seem lovely

Big shout out to Elaine - the incredibly nice lady on reception who helped a Luddite use some tech and Rachel the night manager who went out of her way to be nice to a tired guest. Thanks everybody:)
- honestm2026 (4/5): Won’t be back - Firstly, the toilet in our room had no ventilation, which caused discomfort during our stay. More seriously, on the day of check-out, 9am and we were still inside the room sleeping, the cleaner knocked on the door and then entered the room while we were still inside. This was very disturbing and a clear violation of our privacy.

The Globe Restaurant and Bar in the hotel is a nice place to have a meal and a drink or two. We had Jordan one of the restaurant staff waiting on us. He was very nice and very informative with the area we were in. He is a asset among others working at the Clayton Hotel.
- Traveler784264 (10/5): Friendly, safe hotel - My husband and I stayed for a week in the Clayton Liffey Valley while visiting family. The hotel is right off the M50 motorway and there is a lovely mall, shopping centre, about 10 minutes walk away. I loved the fact that the hotel has a pool and a hot tub. Ate several times in the Globe restaurant and the staff were very friendly, especially Jordan. He was always very attentive, without being OTT. I would definitely stay here again.
- mariegU7561IZ (2/5): Dreadful. - The hotel seems to have very poor management. Children were running wild and screaming in the lobby,in the bar and along the corridors to the rooms. Breakfast is ok..typical hotel fare kept lukewarm under a heated lamp.. The bar staff,though lovely,have no system in place for ordering. Nobody notices you entering the restaurant ,and there is no system for taking an order. The food is just average and expensive for the quality. The leisure centre is not clean and the guy at reception was unfriendly and quite rude. The front desk staff are very disinterested in their job ,and though nice are very unprofessional. The rooms are OK,bed was comfortable, no visible way to adjust the temperature. TV channels didn't work. Could do with a decor update. Room not cleaned daily, Had to go in search of milk sachets and water. Felt distinctly uncomfortable coming in from making a phone call on the balcony to find a member of the cleaning staff in the room who hadn't made me aware she was there. Even worse followed by a knock on the door from a maintenance man asking when I was checking out which was strange and I felt a little spooked by it all . The only positive is it's proximity to the shopping centre. Avoid
- O6954KZberniem (8/5): Recommend this hotel - We stayed one night for New Year’s Eve. Have to say we think we expected a lot of noise given the time of year. But this couldn’t be further from the truth! Very quiet. And we felt very safe given access to lifts for bedrooms was allowed only via your key card. Very safe. We were greeted by very friendly staff at reception and again at breakfast. And at one stage we asked for extra tea bags and milk for our room, and were given plenty within a few minutes. We could access our room two hours earlier than check in of 4pm- I am assuming because we had checked in online and paid in full the night before. We received a lovely email at 1.30pm on the day of arrival to inform us our room was ready and we were also told our room number. This was extremely helpful and prolonged our stay-just what we needed. The room was quite warm, but all we had to do was open the window and turn off the radiator. Simple as that! Have to say bed felt a bit uncomfortable. But we still had a reasonable nights sleep. We feel furnishings/ bathroom could do with a small upgrade. Breakfast the following morning was great. Piping hot. Plenty of choice between fruits, juices, tea, coffees, hot breakfast, continental, yogurts, breads, pastries etc. Ample parking in the underground at a what we felt was a reasonable charge of €10 overnight. Overall a very pleasant, easy, relaxing, hassle free stay and we would definitely return. Thank you!
- Hollie151 (10/5): A very pleasant stay - I was a little apprehensive about saying here due to so many negative reviews, but I decided to stay anyway as I was working nearby and needed somewhere to stay close by. However, I was actually very impressed by my stay here. The location is very convenient, very close to the Liffey Valley shopping centre. Parking costs €10 which I did think was a little steep. The reception staff were very friendly and welcoming when checking in. Our room was actually along a busy road and a lot of noise could be heard from the room. However, my partner asked at reception if it would be possible to move to a quieter room, and a lovely receptionist who I think was called Elaine was really helpful. We were given another room on the ground floor at the back of the hotel, which was much quieter. The room itself was clean and spacious. The bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was also very good with a great selection. We really enjoyed our stay here and would definitely return!

- tashaa484 (2/5): Avoid - vast, soulless, noisy, sprawling - not worth the money. - Worst hotel I’ve stayed in for years. It feels more like a motel than a hotel. I specifically requested a quiet room away from the motorway and foot traffic before check-in, yet was given a room that felt practically on top of the motorway. Children were running and screaming up and down the corridors well past midnight. I called reception three times, but the noise continued after midnight. For such a large hotel, the staff seemed unable—or unwilling—to manage guest behaviour. Being kept awake at that hour by other guests is unacceptable and deeply disappointing. Breakfast was very poor, and the hotel is expensive for what it offers. Avoid. Much better value elsewhere.

- T5742SOgiusepper (10/5): New look and refurb - I travel to Dublin frequently for work, and after staying at the Clayton Hotel Liffey Valley five times now, I can confidently say this place has become my go-to — not just for the comfortable rooms, great pool, and convenient parking, but because of the food. I’m not a chef, but I am a foodie. I know when a dish has been prepared with love — and when it hasn’t. Every single time I’ve eaten here, I’ve been blown away by the consistency, presentation, and most of all, the flavour. Tonight, I had the pleasure of meeting Chef Ian, and it all suddenly made sense. You can taste the passion that goes into every plate that leaves his kitchen. This isn’t your typical “hotel restaurant” where food is just plated and served. There’s real creativity and care behind every dish — from starters to desserts. I’ve made my way through the entire menu by now, and honestly, I wouldn’t be surprised if they’re recognised with a culinary award or a rosette in the near future. If you’re staying at the Clayton Liffey Valley, you’ll probably have a drink and end up dining here — and trust me, you’ll be glad you did. The food is a solid 10/10, bursting with flavour and personality. A total delight of a restaurant that deserves to be celebrated
- 987shaza (2/5): Avoid Hotel it’s a Tourist Trap and very expensive. - Room 325 Terrible Hotel and it’s run down with old and the windows have mould and the rooms you can hardly breathe at night. The towels are wafer thin like toilet paper. The fixtures also are very dusty. The bar area is ok but just a coke will cost €4.50 euros which a rip off. If you have kids and they want to go swimming the hotel will charge you €3 for non-water proof shower caps. The doors is not soft closure and you will hear constant loud banging in the middle of the night and Room 326 were having a party which my son up. I complained and the manager Christopher Errity asked me to email him and then when I tried speak to him during my stay the reception staff they said he was always busy to call me or meet. Please don’t bother asking for early check in you won’t get it. I asked for a quiet room and I was given a room next to the duel carriage way.
- N6917DVciaram (2/5): Very disappointing stay- won't be returning - Myself and my family stayed here it was our first ever night away. I picked it because it was close to different attractions and also had a pool and seemed good vaue for money so I thought but I had one of the most frustrating hotel experiences I’ve had in a long time. We were given a room on the 4th floor with our 9-month-old baby, and the noise was relentless. Kids were running up and down the halls unsupervised until all hours, making it impossible for any of us to sleep. The room itself was another issue — far too hot, and despite the hotel advertising air conditioning, there was none. The TV didn’t work either, which was just another inconvenience on top of everything else. The bar was no better. There was absolutely no service for food or drinks, the floor was dirty with food scattered everywhere, and when our food finally arrived it was cold. It was clear the staff were overwhelmed or simply not managing the space properly. The only positive part of our stay was the breakfast, which was actually quite good. But unfortunately, that wasn’t nearly enough to make up for the overall experience. Very disappointed and won’t be staying here again.

Beds were comfortable, but the room was very warm, with no ability to adjust the temperature. And this was in the middle of October. We used the fan in the room to help a little. The Globe restaurant was disappointing. We arrived after 6pm and some items on the menu were not available based on our timing. It was confusing bd food was average. Hotel hallways were noisy up until 2:30-3am. Breakfast was amazing!!! The selection of food was unbelievable and delicious. And only a small fee to add to your stay. €10 for parking.

- Lydia (6/5): - When we booked a weekend away for my son’s birthday we had no idea that there was an NFL game that same weekend, so we were limited for choice and price. The hotel seemed a reasonable option but in hindsight all prices in Dublin were probably inflated - we live and learn! It’s a 20-minute taxi into central Dublin from the hotel and taxis aren’t cheap so I don’t think we saved anything being that far out. The hotel is big, the beds and bedding were comfortable but we found food under our beds from previous guests, and bottles and glasses from when we checked in on Thursday were still in our room when we checked out on Sunday. We got new towels which were big and fluffy (with the exception of 1) every day even when we hung up ones we were happy to reuse but a wet bath mat was left sitting on the end of the bath. Windows were more sound-proof than internal doors and black out curtains would’ve been really effective if we weren’t listening to doors creaking (ask for higher number rooms eg not *01 nearest the lifts). Staff were friendly although the check-in/check-out process means there is little need to interact with anyone. Your room key gives you access to floors and lifts so all very secure. Liffey Valley shopping centre is 15-minutes walk away, or a short drive if you’re lucky enough to get parking.
- Gillian (6/5): - Nog worthy of tbe star rating it has. Noisy only a quick surface clean if lucky and fresh towels. Did not ise health suite was put off by the loud music blaring from that building. So loud I could hear it from my room at the opposite side.
- Gemma (4/5): - The pool facilities are honestly shocking. The worst I have ever seen. Rotting wood, lockers missing doors, floors filthy. Lifeguards we're rude and shouty at guests yet fine with their friends (they knew each other's names) coming straight from the sauna and diving into the pool. Another man was exfoliating poolside. The whole experience was gross. The hotel itself was passable lobby area is modern but the rooms were dated. 260 quid per night plus parking. I won't be back.

- André (6/5): - Our bedroom was dusty and with a faulty light, you can hear all of the noise from the other bedrooms the body wash provided was not enough for 3 days for 2 people the tv wasn’t working properly and the property itself can’t be 4 stars hotel, very tiny pool with bathroom and shower facilities broken and dirty. The staff is amazing!

- Denis (8/5): Vey Good Hotel - Had an amazing room, Stayed in room 480, lots of space and facilities were very good. Leisure centre was very good, pool and jacuzzi were excellent. Had dinner in the restaurant, food and service were very good as always
- JAMES (8/5): - The city bus from Dublin stops in front of the hotel. At night it's about 20 mins to the hotel from Dublin center. During the day from hotel to Dublin is 45 mins. There is a shopping mall with a good theatre walking distance from hotel. I did not use the pool. Part of the hotel was under construction but I was not in this area. The security was very good.

- Robert (10/5): Comfortable family stay in Dublin - Stayed here as we had some family things to do in Dublin. Took a larger room for two adults and three kids and couldn’t be happier with the setup and the facilities. Check-in was easy and swift. Room service is via an app which could do with better expectation management but the service overall was great.

- Jeanette (2/5): Room door left ajar all day by hotel staff - I arrived at night time after a long drive abd after checking in was told to go out the front door of the hotel in the dark and walk to end of all the buildings to find my apartment, despite having booked a room in the hotel. The apartment had a broken lock on the balcony door and I’d to wait while different porters had to come to my room to try and fix it. It couldn’t be fixed so I’d to move to another apartment, carrying all my luggage as the staff walked ahead of me not even offering to carry anything. I was gone the next day from 8am to 9pm and on my return the new key cards wouldn’t let me into the apartment block so I’d to go back to reception. When I did arrive back to my apartment/room the door was completely open and looked like the cleaners had left my door open all day with all my personal belongings inside. I rang reception who told me there was no manager available and they would ring me back. I never received a call back. Serious security issues at this hotel, I would advise solo female travellers not to stay here.

Right by Liffey Mall. So choices on food if you don’t eat at restauran. (Nando’s and a few others) M&S, Boots and Dunne’s also a Cinema) overall a really nice place to stay..recommend ..

- Verified traveler (8/5): Grand for a short stay and base. - Hotel is fine. Good location on outskirts of Dublin. Handy to the zoo. Lots of shops in liffey valley if thats your thing. Does feel like needs a lick of paint and a touch up in places especially the leisure centre changing rooms. Be careful in the changing rooms as floors are very slippy. My son slipped and fell and split his head on wall in changing rooms which required a trip to hospital to get glue/stitches. So time was limited in the hotel then as sat in a&e a good part of our stay.

Swimming pool was excellent and gym staff were very helpful in sorting us out. Beds very comfy & plenty of pillows. Check in & out were easy and automated which helped as well
- Cornelis (6/5): - This hotel is quite a distance from any tourist attractions in Dublin City. An expensive taxi ride or a long bus ride are your options. Really only a very busy noisy mall to visit within walking distance. No Ac so the room was very warm and muggy. Booked through Expedia and was charged an extra 100.00 at the hotel. When I questioned this they said this is what Expedia charged you even though I had the email with the amount I was told I would have to pay right there. Did not matter.Very basic room for the price we paid.
- Natasha (6/5): - The salt water pool was great though the dressing rooms were dirty. The breakfast was great. The fan & phone in my room were broken. The pillow and duvet were smelly/visibly dirty. Immediately next to the hotel there is a fenced area that’s has “lands have been poisoned.” Which we only saw after my kids are blackberries hanging through the fence. There are also numerous nitrous oxide canisters discarded undecided of the road. Do not recommend The larger area was convenient as it was near a shopping centre and some fast food restaurants .

We would stay again.

- Mike (6/5): - Staff in hotel were nice although when on the phone making the booking the receptionist was condesending. Staff in the leasure area where not very warm or welcoming either. Rooms were okay but worn looking in the bathrooms. I wanted to take a walk with my young daughter but outside the hotel at the carpark entrance there was a gang of teenagers in balaclavas and ski masks making threatning gestures to people going in and out and one was threatening to slash a taxi driver who was parked in the car park. Area itself is a dump so decided against. While the stay itself was nice and breakfast was really good i wont be going there again with my family and dont recommend it if you want to go anywere on foot beyond the hotel grounds.
- Nicholas (2/5): - Hotel was very easy to find with Great parking, My family’s experience at the Clayton Hotel Liffey is very poor, my room N423 was extremely hot with no A/C, Very little window and no fan. Noise from fast moving traffic all night! Also the carpet by the wardrobe had an area bold, Looks like bugs or larvae is eating it. Toilet has stains and bathroom has black mould, This has been advertised as a deluxe superior Room? This is my first time staying at a Clayton and unfortunately will be my last. Not impressed at all!!
- Leon (4/5): - It was barmy warm weekend in Dublin, and I don’t hold Clayton Liffey valley for gods good work, however there was nothing to mitigate this at all apart from a filthy noisy ( of centre) fan! The furnishings were bashed and dated, poorly maintained. There was a function on both nights, finishing late and, due to the weather windows were open making it far to loud to sleep! Check in was farcical, a big push to self service kiosks that were not working correctly (confirmed by a member of staff). Overall very disappointing.

- Klarna (8/5): Service by the staff… - The service by the staff on the first day was terrible, it was very warm on the first day and asked for an extra fan because the baby of 2 month old was not able to settle down with the warm situation in the room at night, called the staff at least 10 or 11 times, said will come by 10 mints, will come now etc etc but no response. Waited till 12 in the morning but no response at all…. The second day staff was really good and helpful I appreciate them….
- Sergii (8/5): Regular stay for few days is good. - There is usual big hotel outside Dublin but close to it and with good connection to the the center by bus (near 1 hour riding). Also I need to say about big pool inside and, of course, big shopping center outside and close to it. Hotel still in good condition and only one thing that little bit strange that there is no any climatic system nor airco. Regulating temperature by the opening/closing window works but little bit boring. Also little bit strange when all people in line for check-in get some free bonuses like increasing room category, but for our family nothing was proposed, even small gift like cup of coffee or beer. Maybe it happens because manager on reception was changed just before us. But, anyhow hotel is ok for its money.

- Verified traveler (4/5): Bad experience - Definitely needs a good revamp everything outdated. Main reception area floors and walls rotten even the doors all chipped along with the walls. Only thing I could see clean was the bed. Breakfast terrible asked for glass for breakfast juice but the girl just looked at me went away and came back with cups never said anything. Only thing going for this hotel is the convenience of the shopping centre nearby.

- Ana MAria (8/5): Lovely stay over the bank holiday weekend - We stayed 2 nights at Litffey Valley and we had an overall a great stay. The room is spacious, clean and the beds are extremely comfy, which is a big hit. The breakfast is alright, you won't go hungry unless if you are a really fussy eater. We had a dinner included and the food was delicious but a bit of a waiting, staff really friendly and helpful. Thank you Clayton team! 🙂👍

- Anna (8/5): Best bed ever - Bed was the most comfortable I’ve ever slept in. It was a warm night but the lack of temperature control and air con was disappointing. Room lovely, bathroom could do with bit of upgrade.
- Padraig (2/5): Very disappointing. 1 out of 10. - We ate dinner in the Italian restaurant next to reception. There was several minutes delay between the first 3 dishes arrivivg to the table and the final 2 arriving. The salami & mushroom pizza arrived with no mushrooms and only 4 slices of salami. Service was poor. The room was very hot with no fan or AC. Even with the windows open there was very little air flow. This was a family room for 5 people, there was a proper double bed (which was comfortable), a sofa bed ment to sleep 2 (but which could fit 1 and was very uncomfortable) and a camp bed. Breakfast was in the restaurant and in the bar. We got the bar. The food was lukewarm and some appeared to have been sitting in the buffet display for while. I am very dissatisfied with my stay considering the price I paid. I will never go back to the Clayton Liffey Valley and I will be very slow to use any other Clayton hotel or Hotels.com again. - Glyn (8/5): - No Gluten free bread on the 3rd day which my partner needed for breakfast. We booked in as a couple and was put beside families with babies and children playing air hockey at 1am in an open games room which was situated on the same floor as the bedrooms. No remote control for the air con and the room was very hot during the night. So overall the 3 nights we stayed we got one good night's sleep, and that was the night we arrived. The staff was friendly enough but at times struggled with the tasks they had.
