- kateld123 (2/5): UNRELIABLE. - I booked this place for my son and girlfriend for a birthday gift. They had booked things to do in London for the weekend they were staying and were really excited as it was their first time I London. However the night before they were so to go at 8pm I had an email saying they had to unexpectedly close. I understand that things happen but firstly leaving it that last was ridiculous my son lost his money on the things he had booked as it was too short notice to book another hotel. I emailed the hotel explaining this and they kindly offered me a free nights stay, ( this still didn’t cover the lost money but still was a nice gesture). I have since emailed them four times asking to book this free stay and they haven’t even had the common courtesy to reply to me. Very unprofessional and unreliable.
- DavidC179 (2/5): Totally Incompetent Management - In February 2023 my reservation for October was accepted even though the management must have known the hotel would be closed from March to December. There has been no communication from the hotel to me regarding their closure. I might have arrived from Japan after a long flight, only to discover the hotel was closed and with nowhere else to stay!! I discovered the hotel was closed only when I attempted to book a room next year. Upon calling the hotel I was told my reservation had been transferred to another hotel, but upon calling the other hotel they knew nothing about me or any reservation for me!! This is total disregard for the interests of their guests and extremely shoddy and incompetent management! Please bear this in mind when considering where to stay in London in the future. Actually I’ve stayed here in the past and it was great, so clearly some management change has resulted in a horrendous decline in service. Very sad!

- Camping77 (2/5): Please don’t stay here !!!! - If I could give zero stars I would ! Have stayed here years ago and it’s a convenient place for Hyde park gigs. Had this booked since November last year for two seperate stays. They cancelled my first booking a week before arrival , since found out they’d known since early in the year that they’d be shut from March this year !!!! That is disgusting not telling us sooner. Terrible customer service. Still no monies returned ! Lied and said there was a Flood. This is not true. To be honest in hindsight Wish hadn’t booked cos it’s a dump Just was close to Hyde park. Now had to Cancel our gigs because everywhere is booked. Cheers for that !!!!
- kileysmom (2/5): Once a gem, now not even a rhinestone - This hotel was one of a few gems at great prices in London. No more, sad to say. It is horribly run down (don't believe the online photos though not that many years ago they were accurate), there is no restaurant but there is a breakfast room for one of the most stingy breakfasts I've had in any English hotel. It was so sad to see what has become of this once lovely hotel. The staff are now surly most of the time and they used to be so pleasant and accommodating. So sad.

- Connor_Clark1997 (2/5): I haven’t even checked out and I hate it here. - Booked with budget in mind but this takes the mick. Arrived, lift is tiny, stairs are trying to throw you over the bannister with how uneven they are. Room has mould, it’s dated, carpet is disgusting and insecure, broken windows, bathroom shower leaks, mouldy and the only 2 settings you get on it is cold or REALLY cold. Dining area is not fit for purpose. The fire alarm was ringing in the morning unexpectedly (no drills or tests planned) so rather than follow the correct procedures and evacuate the building so find out what triggered it. They just switched it off!! Needless to say, the health and safety regulators would have a chuffing field day in that place! Best thing that could happen to the hotel is demolition, rebuild and start over.

Don’t book very tired and not very clean , wouldn’t recommend staying there even if it was the last hotel in the world. - alastairo781 (2/5): Shabby, Tired - dont trist photos !!! - Only positives about this place are its location, next to Hyde Park & proximity to Lancaster Gate and it is fairly inexpensive. BUT beware this is an incredibly shabby, tired hotel. The photos which lured me to book are 10-15 years out of date, I have complained to Hotels.com - I was misled & frankly embarrassed to book my wife into this 4* hotel - at best in its current state is a 2*. Our bathroom was appalling with embedded grime, cracked tiles, broken toilet roll holder, leaky tap & shower, a dangerous random hook on the wall at knee height for the loo. No new toilet rolls just part used ones on a shelf, broken light bulbs, shabby uneven lino flooring which was not even secured. The shower 'cubicle' doors had been removed & replaced with a shower curtain mounted above the shower,curtain was shabby. ill fitting & ineffective - contributing to leaking onto the already shabby floor. All carpets threadbare & covered with equally threadbare rugs. Breakfast very basic - largely unappealing - look at for the toaster - well past its retirement date, ineffective & shabby. Condimonts as cheap as can be, matching those in the bathroom for their really poor quality. Coffee was good - easily best part of breakfast. Staff were fine, but cleaners need a lesson or three, not helpful when you cant get to your room for the stuff they discard in the corridor. There is clear abuse of all the gradings for this hotel - spot the numerous one liners awarding 0 & 10 out of 10. Despite that real reports ( not unlike mine ) tell the truth.
- zoe1611 (6/5): In need of refurb - Location is good, easy access to the tube station Lancaster Gate which is on the central line. Hotel very run down and in need of a refurb, smells quite musty. We were on the 4th floor and there is a lift but only one person can use at one time. Room is very basic but has everything you need - water pressure very slow! We called down for a iron and no one answered within 5 minutes of trying so it was easier just to go down to reception.

I was guided by the photos on your site, should have checked Trust Pilot, so shoujd the trade. Bedroom awful, advertised amenities not there: restaurant and bar. Every other person staying there complaining. Noisy room, no double glazing and next bedroom residents not noisy but we could easily have had a conversation through the wall. Disgusted.
- Navid (8/5): Nice and convenient - I have a conference at the Royal Lancaster and this hotel was just a few hundred yards away - so convenient! Only issue was that breakfast was at 7:30 but I had to be at venue for 7:00 ! Other than that was a comfortable stay and would stay again!
- sagefolk (2/5): Total misrepresentation - doss house! - I’ve never seen the like. I was surprised at £100 a night to stay in this location but photographs looked brilliant. I don’t know which hotel they were taken in but not here! Shockingly bad condition, needs millions spent on it. Could be turned into a beautiful period hotel but needs big investment. In the meantime Expedia and the like should take this down or get photos taken, isn’t misrepresentation must be illegal!

Power sockets sunk in the wall, The shower has hardly any water coming out. Breakfast had limited options. Owner neeedsss to renovate ASAP. The location is good due to bus routes. The guy at the front desk was welcoming. We are deffo not Coming back. I have limited pics even the photo frames and colour scheme is outdated. If the hotel was preserved it would be beautiful bur honestly such a disappointment. Plus parking is a joke payed £30 quid for 24 hours !!!!!

- JAWES162 (2/5): DON’T STAY HERE!!!! - An utter disgrace!! Don’t stay here!! I booked a twin room as part of my sisters 60th birthday celebration with booking.com. The booking showed a beautifully decorated room. The room we were given on the 4th floor was no better than a hostel. Beds with hardboard under the mattress, windows that barely shut and were rusting, curtains hanging off, tired worn dated furniture, rusted bathroom fittings and a dodgy locking door. The noise from the lift was constant. The decor throughout the hotel was appalling scratched wallpaper in the corridors, windows cracked one with a hole in, damaged upholstered chairs. The lift so small that only an averaged size person could fit in. When we complained about the room we were told it was a standard room of the correct size. After some persuasion we got the only staff member available to come up and look at the room and he kept repeating his line about it being a standard room of the correct size. When we showed him the photo of the room we expected he said that was the room next door and it wasn’t his fault what photos get used on booking sites. After an hour we got a muffled apology as he walked out of the room. We were given the option of staying or leaving and the hotel wouldn’t challenge the refund. Needless to say we left!!! We then had to spend two hours trying to find somewhere else to stay and ended up in a Travelodge that was far superior and where we felt safe.

The front desk clerk was less than helpful & no early check-in allowed. The location is good, the bedding seemed clean, breakfast ok. Not good value at all.
- Jordany645 (2/5): RUDE STAFF - UNBELIVEABLE RUDE STAFF! Russell on the desk hung up on me and was verbally abusive on the phone. Kumar the alleged manager was extremely rude. Pictures look good but the hotel is run down and operated by staff who are very rude. The hotel tries to portray it's self as a traditional British hotel but lack the British values. BTW THIS IS A 3 STAR NOT A 4 STAR!

It is worn down, smell of mould, the curtains are shredded, lamps are not working, items are broken and there is a shortage of towels and bed linen. The staff seem indifferent and defensive. This is definitely not a customer-first hotel. I found an old roach trap under the bed which make me question the cleanliness. I did not take advantage of the included breakfast. If the restaurant is a reflection the hotel I would not eat there, why I went elsewhere for breakfast. I did not enjoy this stay at all and deliberately made an effort to stay in my room as little as possible.

Mould on everything. carpets that not only look like from the 1920 but I actually think they were from the 1920s they were so worn out. Our room had not been clean may have made the bed but that was it . There was empty can on the table. Used toiletries in the bathroom, shopping bags by the bed, hairs everywhere. Mould on the bed base and in the picture frame never mind in the bathroom. I did not bother to even ask for a new room we just about turned and looked for another hotel. I knew it was dated but I thought it would have been a theme but nope this was a house of horrors. I have to say the young man at reception was very nice and had obviously had the conversation with other guests as he did not even ask why we would not be staying or what was wrong with the room. We had book through groupon and was very quick in authorising the refund so at lest that part was painless. Do not go here!!

Get better for less elsewhere. Bathroom horrible. Beds seemed clean.I could go on and on. Don’t stay here. I’m easily pleased so I’m not saying this lightly
- R2169POkarlh (2/5): Spend a little more, stay somewhere else - The best feature of this hotel is the location; right next to Hyde Park and Lancaster Gate metro station, though be aware the station can close early due to “staff shortages”. Unfortunalty the positives end there; the reality is everything is in dire need of proper cleaning and maintenance, from the entrance to fourth floor it falls far short of the four star rating this venue aspires to on Booking.com The signs selotaped to the entrance door were misplaced, encouraging Pull instead of Push on the outside, Push instead of Pull inside - an amusing mistake. The reception area and sitting space are functional, if a somewhat plain. Check-in doesn't take long. The lift is tiny; barely big enough for a suitcase plus accompanying adult. Hall carpets were occasionally threadbare and showed serious water damage in some areas. The room itself ( 222 ) fell far short of the photos on Booking.com: very small room, narrow double bed, limp pillows, broken bedside cupboard doors, a large chunk ripped out of the bath panel, broken toilet handle and loose toilet seat. The bath mat yellow with age and use. Spare pillows had not been prepared with pillow cases and featured years of dirt and dubious stains. Booking.com photos advertising a generous, clean pillow allocation fell far short of reality. Requesting clean pillows and pillow cases, plus an additional towel for a double room with two people, was not handled well; the female house maid, certainly old enough to know better, was surely and rude. Not four star treatment. We complained and were given a ‘better’ room ( 443 ) which boasted a four poster bed, though the distinct lean to one side raised smiles and doubts as to its durability. Spare pillows were provided - covers were not - the years of usage stains on the pillows remained a constant. The fourth floor and stairs are uneven; they all lean to one side. On the stairs this can be very unsettling. Some steps featured the occasional loose edge strip and unsecured carpet, potential for a nasty surprise and requiring only basic maintenace to address. Breakfast is served in the delightful sounding, though dim and depressing, Rose Room. The food offerings were spartan, and in some cases lacked freshness. A cooked menu was not an option. To be fair, day two did have warm baked rolls, which were very nice. Shame this wasn’t complimented with additional items - the unimpressive cheese, tomato and cucumber - dried out from having sat so long - didn’t look yummy. Jam and butter was on offer, but again hardly four star fair. Adding insult to injury, the potted coffee was simply awful - either coffee making skills are seriously lacking or the machine urgently needs replacing. While usable for a brief stay, this venue falls short in quality.

- 692kerry (2/5): Worst hotel I have ever stayed in. - Do not book this hotel, it is dated, dirty and riddled with bed bugs. We booked to stay here for a weekend, as soon as you walk into the building it is like stepping back in time, not in a good way! We had to ask to change our room because curtains were hanging off rails, bed lights did not work, the bathroom was covered in mould, I could go on. To be fair, the poor girl behind the reception was as accommodating as she could be. The 2nd room appeared to be slightly better, or so we thought! We woke up in the morning covered in bites, 1 or 2, I would not expect to be bed bugs, however I had dozens on me. When I finally heard back from the manager, he offered us a free nights stay, thought he was having a laugh, but it was the only offering of a reimbursement he could muster. Do not even contemplate booking a nights stay at the London Elizabeth Hotel.
- kileysmom (4/5): Absolutely not a 4* nor are the photos accurate - I've stayed occasionally in this hotel since 1978 so I expected some possible "aging." What I found was no attention to the hotel at all. It is a disgrace and about as far from a four star hotel as you can get. It is basically clean with well worn furniture (much of it with horrible scars and lack of any finish due to wear and tear). The photos on their website are NOT accurate in any way. Those are of the hotel of old. The staff are ill informed about the local area being unable to identify the pub literally 100 meters as a place to get a meal. The restaurant is not open, there are no tablecloths, breakfast is as they say....very basic. Just a total disappointment from the moment we stepped in the door. The location no longer makes up for the poor staff and poor condition of the rooms and public areas. There are many hotels in the immediate area that are in better condition and offer knowledgeable and helpful staff....find a different hotel.

- Grant (2/5): Very Poor Condition Hotel - Welcome was lacking any warmth, the hotel is in poor condition and dirty, the external area bares no resemblance to the photos on Hotels.com and desperately requires redecoration. Interally the bathroomwas the worst I have ever stayed in, old, broken tiles, since, bathseals really bad, wonky lights, threadbare carpet. was not worth £130 a night

- Neil (4/5): This is not a 4 Star Hotel - This is NOT a 4 star hotel. I feel totally mis sold on this fact and will be reviewing it as a 4 star hotel. The photos are very mis-leading and must have been took some years ago. The deco of the hotel is very tired and shabby. It must have last been decorated in the early 90's. The matrass on our bed had a large metal spring exposed causing me to scrape my leg on it. The breakfast on offer was very limited and no cooked breakfast was available. On a positive note the the hotel room was clean and the room spacious. It is in a great location 1 min away from the Italian Garden in Hyde Park and Lancaster Gate Underground station.
- Marjorie (6/5): - Hotel in general needed maintenance done...carpet, paint, etc. Breakfast needs to have juice option. Staff cleared plate off tables and replaced food that was taken in a timely manner but never wiped down the tables after omeone had eaten there. Place mats had tea/coffee stains. Lots of crumbs. Not very conducive to enjoying a meal. AIr conditioning in our room did not work for the 4 nights we were there and were told parts couldn't be gotten for a week. Fan moving 90 degree (31 celcius) air didn't help much. Very convenient to bus/underground and nice park.

The breakfast didn’t look very appealing so I ate elsewhere. Great neighborhood, but I am glad to have only stayed one night.

Hotel could be so much better given the ideal area it sits in being right beside Hyde Park, local tube station, and Paddington 5 minutes away.

- Cheryl (2/5): - I booked this Regal Beauty Accomodation again after staying there in 2007 She is no beauty now inside or out. Unkempt facade with paint peeling of building and fences. Steps are needing a good clean also. Inside room carpet was threadbare and curtains dirty. No working phone no working Airconidtioner and very weak. WIFI. Upside the beds were clean and comfy. The staff where lovely and very accomodating.

- SUSAN P (10/5): Southsidesue - Great location by the entrance to Hyde Park. Breakfast is a continental style now since Covid. I’ve stayed here before and feel very safe walking around the area alone. It’s an old building that could use some upgrades, but I’d stay here again if in London. Front desk are very helpful.

- Deanna (10/5): - This is an older hotel. If you want new-and-shiney go to South Kensington, not North. Take a second look at everything. You will see older things that have been loved and cared for. The staff members are absolutely outstanding in their friendliness and willingness to help. The location is particularly excellent for me. It is across the street from the Serpentine in Hyde Park. If you like to walk the parks, if you want to wank in park land all the way past Buckingham Palace to Trafalgar, this is the location for you. Paddington Station, with a pharmacy, groceries, and many shops and restaurants, is a short walk away. There is a tube stop and a bus stop less than a block away. The hotel is an old lady. Expect some creaky joints and wrinkles on her lovely face. Yes, there is an elevator.

Shower regulator did not work in the morning water was extremely hot and in the afternoon no hot water at all. We could not set the water temperature at any of our 4 days there. The parking lot was in the rear of the building was stairs only way into the building. With one large suite case and two carry on it was not the best way to enter the hotel.

They have Wi-Fi but it doesn’t work, beds are the worse I’ve seen, tiles are coming off the floor and walls, shower has only one speed and that’s like fire hydrant, the elevator can only for one person with one suitcase and the area is not prime spot like it used to be. Never booking again.

Appreciate COVID restrictions but could have done better. Tea at breakfast from urn not good (stewed) - hot water and tea bags would be better.

- Patrick (2/5): Terrible - This hotel is badly maintained to a point where the stairs are dangerous. The carpet and metal plates on the edge of some of the stairs are loose. We reported to reception but they were not interested. The water in the bathroom was lukewarm which we reported on both days but again staff were not interested. Overall the hotel is scruffy and old with repairs, where they have been done, are to a poor standard The hotel also has a musty smell. We didn't have a breakfast. It's a shame as it once must have been a lovely building. It's very near to a tube station and Hyde park so location was good.

- Robyn (10/5): Really lovely stay for our trip to London - Very welcoming and friendly staff always happy to help. Room was lovely and tidy, fairly big fridge in room. Lovely and warm bedroom with extra heater/ blankets for if you got cold. Lovely to step out on the balcony if nice weather. Water work going on over the road but never heard a thing. Was so quiet and peaceful. Breakfast was nice with a good selection to choose from. This hotel is a minute walk from Lancaster Gate tube, Kensington gardens and about 20 minutes to Harrods and Knightsbridge tube. Places to eat a short walk away - Would recommend this hotel - and will look to stay again in the future visits to London. Thank you for our lovely stay in London :)
- Verified traveler (2/5): Worst hotel I have ever stayed in - Worst hotel I have ever stayed in London. Pictures are deceiving. For a room that would of cost £90, that is a robbery. Hotel was really dirty and so was the room. In the morning we had no hot water to have a shower and when I called the receptionist, she said she restarted the boiler and that is all she can do. Not good enough. I expect at least hot water to have a shower. Checked out without having a shower. Would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

- Nicholas (8/5): - I didn't like that there were no guests i could find who i particularly liked apart from at the very end of my stay. Vishe and Tom were very friendly and Cassian was very professional but i was a bit wary of him because i can tell he is very narrow in liking people. I think he found me better than he expected, or perhaps he liked me more than he thought. I know i wasn't like how he had been told about me - in a positive way. He thought correctly that i am normal, and he also noted my choices i made there. He was taken aback by how observant he found me to be.

- Francesca (8/5): Rather unique for London! - The staff could not have been nicer! It’s so central yet affordable and while it’s a little dated it has an intriguing vibe I really loved! It’s also dog friendly and has parking (in central london)!! So I would certainly stay there again!

The service was good and very friendly . The hotel appears to have only one lift which fits only one person which did come as a surprise . However I did enjoy my stay and it was good value for the money I paid .

- Tony (2/5): Disappointing - This hotel is not as described by Hotels.com. It is certainly not a 4* establishment as advertised and probably hasn’t been since at least the 1990’s. If you’re looking for budget accommodation you won’t be too disappointed, the location and transport links are great. What I take offence to is being conned into booking what I believed was 4* accommodation when clearly it was not.

- Verified traveler (8/5): Good location - needs TLC. - Excellent location for an event in Hyde Park. Overall the hotel needs a lot of TLC. In particular the bathroom basin was damaged, no plug and the tap had lost most of its chrome plating. The windows could not be closed tightly against the outdoor sound.

- roger (2/5): Should be condemned - I elected not to stay at the property due to the filthy and unkempt state of the property and not being anywhere close to as advertised. Thankfully the manager kindly agreed to refund my fee and let me move to a more suitable accommodation

Why? - I had conformation of my booking on the 7th October for my stay on on the 11 th October when arriving at the hotel there were only staff at the hotel as it had been shut for over a week due to a flood. Why did they not inform me ? I am 77 yrs old and had to go to an inferior hotel which I would not have booked but as it was late I had no choice but to drive to to South Kensington to a 3 star hotel. I had been invited to the Royal British Legion celebration of 100 yrs which was being held at Westminster Abby which I had been looking forward to , but because of having to stay at a new hotel we had not researched how to get to Westminster Abby for 10. am . This made what should have been a wonderful experience into a very stressful one . I would be very interested to know why I was not informed of the closure of my chosen hotel . Margaret Capewell
- Laura (6/5): Nothing like the pictures! - On the first day of our stay there were protests in the hotel. Former staff were there making noise and demanding to be paid. They state managers claimed furlough payments for them and then did not pass these payments on. They were desperately short of staff, we were told housekeeping would only be done every fifth day not daily, there was no room service as stated, there was no restaurant as stated. Breakfast was an uncooked piece of brioche or croissant or two slices of toast, no drinks, fruit etc. This could not realistically be called a continental breakfast. There was no dining room you had to wander back to your room folornly with a slice of toast. There was no luggage room we were told to leave bags in an open space. My daughter was worried about hers and went back after fifteen minutes, picking it up and walking out without seeing a member of staff. The electrics look dangerous outside the building, the whole place is uncared for and old. The neighbourhood felt safe, the location was good, if you want somewhere to lay your head then okay but don't expect anything more.
