Guest Reviews
- PALOMA (1/5): HUMILLANTE - ABSOLUTAMENTE NADA!!

- Excursion711739 (6/5): Fair review with hope for improvement -
I recently stayed at the Silka Seaview Hotel, and given that the hotel is under renovation, I believe a fair rating would be three stars. Unfortunately, I was not happy with the room. The carpet had several stains and appeared dirty, and the safety vault was not functioning properly. While the size of the room was small yet sufficient for two people, it still left much to be desired.
Due to our limited time of only two days to explore Hong Kong, I didn’t get a chance to voice my concerns about the room. However, despite the room not meeting our expectations, we thoroughly enjoyed our time discovering the city and indulging in the local food.
One aspect I genuinely appreciated about the hotel was the service. They didn't require a cash deposit during check-in, which was a pleasant surprise. Additionally, they assisted us during checkout and allowed us to store our luggage at the hotel after checking out. This enabled us to enjoy a bit more time exploring the area and shopping for souvenirs before heading to the airport.
I sincerely hope that the hotel will improve both the interior and exterior in the near future. I would be willing to give it another chance during my next visit.
- Kah (7/5): Staff are friendly and helpful each time I approach them for assistance. - I understand that rooms renovation are on going and I am looking forward to stay in your newly renovated room next year. Nothing in particular. But the room furnishing is a bit old.

- Josephine (6/5): - Okay
- Gholamreza (4/5): - ok
- Milos (6/5): All in all decent, but for that money needs to be MUCH cleaner and AC working properly. - Location great, staff kind, toilet was ok, beds ok. Dirty carpet and some sheets (stains). AC (fan) does not really work well (it's temperature to be specific)
- Verified traveler (6/5): Due diligence and fine for guests who smoked in a - Even though it was a non smoking floor, the corridor smells of smoke.

- Annop (8/5): Very good - Staffs are helpful. Location is good for night market & local restaurants. Small room. Good for sleep & go.
- Byron (6/5): - The hotel has small rooms and not as nice as the photos. There was mildew in the bathrooms and mold on the caulking.
Location was close to Temple Street Market but about a 30min walk to the waterfront
- Shirley (6/5): - I was bit by a kind of bugs every night. I end up to buy itchy cream to rub on my neck and chest. I couldn't sleep because the bugs biting me. I think the carpet was so dirty and filthy in Room 1007. Also they don't hoover the floor every day that's the problem.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Location of hotel is excellent, near to amenities.
- Siew (6/5): Pleasant -
- Pui ying (4/5): - Location was good despite of the run down hotel since my last stay in 2019. Quite disappointed .. never maintained n upkeep hotel standard environment.
- Thida (6/5): Pleasant -
- Risako (6/5): - The room was quite old but tidy. Bed sheet was pretty old it should be replaced to the new ones.
Breakfast was normal. Convenient store in front of hotel. 5min walk from MTR station.
- shannonluciano (6/5): Good for short stays - For check-in you will require a cash deposit, but counter service thoughtout was always quite quick. The Standard Room was small as expected but was clean to a good degree. The room minibar was stacked and coffee/tea items were replaced daily. The bed however was quite small and not ideal for two adults, we were two slim adults. If you are a big person you'll have real issues. The surprising thing was noticing the hotel had cheap set meal deals during breakfast and lunch. Worth the stay if you're on a tight budget.
- Nattawut (8/5): Very good -
- Tsui (8/5): - The room is small but clean. The bath tub is too high to get in and out.
- Tsui (8/5): - The room is small but the bath room is in modern design.
- Jason (6/5): - small and toilet floor quiet dirty and hotel no renovation for a long time, interior old
- Olivia (5/5): ok for business if you just want a place to sleep. - location room is very small and old
- Bee (8/5): Very good -
- Doley (3/5): Poor -
- Grossi (7/5): Good -
- Peter (1/5): Very outdated room. Very unhelpful staff -
- Wing (8/5): Very good - Good location. Friendly staffs and efficient housekeeping support. Good ventilation and air conditioning system in room. Hotel is a bit run down. Need some work to refresh the fittings. Also a box tissue will complete the amenity list.
- William (4/5): Overall, the hotel is quite old and should have some renovation. - it is located near to Nathan Road and very convenient. The bathroom was too small, moreover the Wi-Fi signal is poor.
- Seng Kian (6/5): - Close to Nathan Road
- Damir (10/5): Exceptional -
- Thanyamas (7/5): Good -
- Thanyamas (7/5): good value - location & price The room is quite old
- Qi (6/5): Pleasant - it’s good location it’s super old carpet is super dirty the entire facility is super super old except the reception and elevator which would trick you.
- Cecilia (5/5): Very convenient location. Very good staff but very small room. - Staff is very nice. I asked to swap room to a non-smoking one and they are happy to swap for us. I need to put my luggage on the bed to open it and get and put thing into. I can imagine the bed covering is very dirty as everyone needs to do this. I understand I can't ask for too much with the price.
- Veronika (4/5): Not up to my liking - Location was perfect and hotel staff appeared to be very friendly The room does not live up to a 3* standard in my opinion. It is poorly maintained with stains all over the walls and bathroom. The bed sheet is also apparently old and not maintained well and it is disputable if the sheets were washed (well) since there were small staines on those too. The carpet is a bit dusty. Overall, quite
disappointing stay.
- Wang (7/5): Was a good value for the money - Location was excellent. Room cleanness was acceptable. Staff are friendly and easy to communicate. The WIFI signal could be poor from time to time for a room at the end of the corridor.
- Udvalzaya (1/5): Bad - Unconfortable , Dirty room , Service bad
- Elle (7/5): Not too bad - Staff were friendly. The room wasn't in a great condition, though we got what we paid for for under $100 aud per night. The sheets were really worn.
- Francisco (8/5): Very good -
- Kei (6/5): Pleasant -
- vickytZ1714CG (10/5): Small room. Nice location - Small tiny room. Location is good, near Yau Ma Tei MTR station exit C. And near airport bus stop.
Check in and check out process was very quick. The staff can speak English.
They provide bathroom amenities and hotel slipper. They have separate floor for smoking and non smoking room so no cigarette smell in my room.
- Huimin (8/5): - Good
- Kwok (8/5): Very good - Overall I am satisfied with the services rendered. The staff are amiable and supportive; the facility is in good condition.
The hotel location is well suited at the center of the heart of Hong Kong business areas.
It is a very price-competitive choice for hotel accommodation choice. Well impressed with the number of air purification systems on my hotel floor for a better environment.
I shall rebook this hotel for my next visit. It is terrific if the air cond is equipped with a warm air ventilation function.
- Su (5/5): Passable - good location very bad and unstable internet
- Pengiran (5/5): Passable -
- Ka (7/5): Good -
- Penn (3/5): Poor -
- 629gerardof (8/5): Tiny rooms but its OK for Asians - First, I have been staying in this hotel many times. Yes, the rooms are small but you are out most of the time so its okay. Basic room amenities are provided. Our room was cleaned everyday. The breakfast was ok better than Mcdonalds. Location was perfect as it is near restaurants and the Temple St., Night market, Nathan Road and near the MTR station. Its walking distance to Mongkok where shopping is awesome. All in all, I rate the hotel 3.5 from a scale of 1 to 5 where 5 is highest.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Good value - For the price, I think it is good value.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Ni in common? Very satisfaction? The room and everywhere is quite
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Great location right un the heart if Kowloon. Walki g distance or an easy metro stop to maun kocatiins. Great places to eat and plenty of markets in the area. Property is a little run down and the room wasn't cleaned or dusted very well. Very small rooms but was fine for what we needed. Very basic service and they no longer provide airport shuttles.
- mennod385 (8/5): Very Good Value - Slap bang in the middle of Hong Kong, Hong Kong this budget hotel is a great place to tour from in Hong Kong. Price was really very affordable and it was easy walking distance to lots of attractions. The room whilst small is adequate, quiet and very clean. The staff helpful and friendly. Go to the Jade Market, Temple Night Market and Walking Market or take the tram to the top of Victoria Peak, about a 20 minute walk from the hotel A HK$24 taxi ride to the ferry terminal and off to Macau for the day.
The Hong Kong Underground is easy to use.
A very big plus in Hong Kong is how friendly and helpful the people are. Step to the side and stare at your map and people will stop to ask how they can assist you. This happened time and again, a great experience. Do yourself a favour and travel Cathy Pacific to Hong Kong, a super stop over.
- Anthon,Floyd (8/5): - the hotel was good, staff are friendly and are very attentive to your needs. the location is good, near fruit market and you don't have problems with foods.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Not bad for the price but don’t expect anything
A bit old tbh
- soebagij (6/5): Hotel in middle of local atraction - This my 4 th stay in silka seaview hotel
Room still the same but this time no free hand phone inside the room
Because of the protest in HKG iw very quiet overall
Location is near local market a food stall a walking distance to bus a Mtr station
- level30k (6/5): Convenient price and location, fair quality - Finally decided to choose the Silka Seaview for a one night stay in the Yau Ma Tei area after reading many reviews here.
The hotel is conveniently located with close access to the metro and all kind of busses transiting on Nathan Road including bus A21 for a quick and cheap transfer to/from the airport.
Check in was simple with the usual (or frequent) deposit that many HK hotels require.
Was assigned room 1601 on the 16th floor (non smoking floor).
Room was really small like old style HK rooms but to my surprise it was really well organized like some previous reviewer mentioned.
Also the bathroom is simple but space is used in a very smart way, the only little problem is that the drainage system is not working well even on the 16th floor.
I must say that I was traveling with on my a cabin size trolley which perfectly fits in the closet over the fridge/safe, the room might end up a little cramped in case you travel with a very big luggage.
The bed was comfortable and just long enough for me (6’3/190 cm) as it has a wall on both ends.
Everything in the room , including linens and wallpaper, is showing it’s age but it’s still ok considering the price level.
WiFi was good, there is one of the portable phones which also works as a mobile router in HK free to use in the room, unfortunately the TV set had just a limited choice of channels (much less than the ones presented on the tv list on the desk).
Overall the Silka Seaview is good value if you know what to expect.
- Hoi Kwan (6/5): laday staff member fails - Room cards was only validrd for one day only but I stay two continuous days, I need to go down to counter to activate my card.
Obviously staff failed to activate 2 days accession.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The location of this hotel is great, just off the Nathan Rd. It's clean and the staffs are helpful. The room is not very big, but that's very general in HK.
- Lim (6/5): - The bedroom is small and mattress appears old.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Good location in Kowloon - close to train stations, a big shopping mall and Anytime Fitness. Room was very small and basic but ok for the price. I would stay here again.
- 435juditr (6/5): Good location, poor quality - The hotel is located close to Nathan Rd where many buses run to everywhere (even directly to the airport). The metro station is also quite close to the hotel as well as the market in Mong Kong. These are the best things in this hotel.
On the other side. The first big appointment was that I requested a non-smoking room but they put me in a smoking one. The next morning I got my non-smoking room tho. The room wasn't really clean, nothing extra but it's far for my standards. Plus, it was more like a shoe-box. (Footnote, I got bitten many times....it was most likely bed bugs). The breakfast is average but it was OK. Not everybody speaks English, not even at the reception, that made the conversation harder. The hotel provided a free mobil phone with internet access (that was the main reason I chose this hotel). Later it turned out that in Hong Kong there are many places where you can have access to free wifi, so I basically never used the phone hotel provided. It could help others tho, for me it was more a headache to charge 2 phones at night.
If I could give 2.5 star, I would. Being nice, I'm giving 3 coz I could leave my luggage there for a couole of hours after checking out.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great location and close to train station
- j0ffan (8/5): Easy to find and comfortable for the price - We needed two inexpensive nights in Kowloon, and this hotel worked fine, especially with the reduced price at this time. Easy to find from the airport bus, and close to Mong Kok, and the Temple Street night market. The shower room was surprisingly good, and there seemed to be enough room for two
