From the nightly turndown where chocolate treats and notes were left on the beds to the room service felt luxurious. The hotel has such rich history and the elegance to prove it. We were traveling as a family of three, and the hotel had already set up a bed for my child before we arrived, which was a nice touch. Our room was large and had a great view of the opera house. Every little corner of the hotel makes you time travel. The lift was so special, it reminds you of an orient express wagon! We felt very comfortable and will remember this special experience.

Concierge service obtain Vienna Opera tickets 24 hours before the performance! Breakfast buffet was nice and omlettes to order was nice as was the eggs benedict option! WE WILL STAY AGAIN!
- katkrieger (10/5): Massive rooms in heart of the city - LOVED this hotel so much. The rooms were MASSIVE. So much room to spread out. They are 'old' feeling but in an antique chic way, not a dated stale way. Amazing restaurants on site. We had breakfast in bed twice (and it was less expensive than the buffet pricing they offered. I do not recommend adding breakfast to your room, even though they offer a pre-pay discount). There is a concierge who helped us with reservations and exchaged cash for us with no fee. This was amazing, because using an ATM in the city had a crazy fee on it. We also didn't really need euros...except for one restaurant we went to. There was a nice (but small) gym, they stored our luggage when we arrived early, and gave us check in a few hours early (though not much). The service and staff were exceptional. There is also a lobby bar that is extremely cozy and chic. The elevator was a bit small and slow. This hotel is about to close for a 2 year renovation. Can't wait to see what it looks like when it's complete!

I had a wonderful big room, if old fashioned and apparently not recently renewed, which nevertheless was quiet, very clean and friendly. The staff, especially at the restaurant, was competent and friendly. I was very pleased.

- lifeenthusiastAB (6/5): Just OK - Tired hotel awaiting a much needed refresh. Doorman was lovely and welcoming. Concierge did not return many emails prior to trip, however, they did OK when I met them in person. Breakfast however, was busy and chaotic. The lady who sat us for breakfast on the first day in the sunroom did not point us to where the breakfast buffet was. We waited for 20 minutes and no waiter showed up, so I had to go find a manager. Similar chaotic experience every morning during our day. Hopefully the renovation will uplift the spirit of the staff and this beautiful property will be warm and welcoming. Location is great overlooking the opera, and even though it was cold, we enjoyed tea on our balcony with the opera view.

- LoveTravel1847000 (10/5): Impeccable room, service, food - Exceptional hotel that brings you back to another era in time. The bar is small but full of character with dark woods and comfy chairs. It was nice that they gave us a nut mix, olives and popcorn with our drinks. The dining room is elegant with its vaulted ceilings and the service is impeccable for breakfast. The room we had was larger than an ordinary room. It had a separate room for the toilet and another room for the sink, makeup table and tub. My one complaint is the shower. When it is turned on, there is no way possible to stop the water from running out onto the floor. Then there is a separate sitting area and desk with a mini balcony overlooking the Opera House. We were told that the hotel will close in 2025 for a 2 year renovation. I hope they maintain some of its charm while updating the plumbing and electrical work. Nice touches include a nightly turndown with chocolates and a note about Vienna’s history. They provide a bowl of apples at every floor by the elevator. Service was excellent for all departments. I’d come back to this hotel as it is centrally located in the inner city ring. Great trip.

- MeydanBM (10/5): Great experience in Bristol Hotel - The staff were delightful and welcoming. It is one of those hotels that feel like it is more of a castle, and you are on a royal visit. The room was comfortable and very spacious with lots of storage place. The shower had a high level of products and was overall very luxurious. The breakfast hall is just stunning, in my mind it was an old hunting cabin for lords. To top it all, we ordered some room services (steak and schnitzel) and of course it was great. Location is obviously very good, just a step from the central street, and right on top of a metro and bus station.

Evening turndown service with a lady bringing nice notes and chocolate elevates fairy tale stay experience. We were having charming Opera View and it was great. Breakfast hall is simply the best. Reception young lady originally messed our rates with reservation team. However, their supervisor Jasmine has made extra mile to correct it. Overall, it is a great hotel. Special thanks to italian bellman for a welcoming introduction while checking in the room.
- pawjam (10/5): Great Location with so much history and grace - If you are traveling to Vienna, the Hotel Bristol is in the heart of everything. We were only in town for two days, but the location gave us easy walking access to amazing sites and is next door to the Vienna Opera House. The Hotel provides an Amazing exterior view, historical lobby, rooms, elevators, and service that we wanted when booking a historical hotel. It felt almost boutique -ish. As soon as we were dropped off, the staff made a great impression - Doormen and others helped escort us into the lobby and helped with bags, while making us feel very welcome. We loved the historical interior. Room was ready on time and off to see Vienna in minutes. Recommend requesting a street view - given Hotel's corner location and the beautiful opera house next door. So much history everywhere. Room was quaintly decorated with historical furniture and had more accessories and convenience items than one could ask for. Bed may have been most comfortable of our entire trip and the management-hospitality team members (especially Kristina) worked hard to make sure we enjoyed and appreciated our visit. Would definitely visit again and take advantage of their other amenities !

They give you fruit, water, and wonderful local chocolates. The Concierges are knowledgeable and extremely helpful. There is class in Vienna and the vibe is extended to the hotel. The internet is an opportunity for improvement. But when are treated as a dignitary the stay is amazing.

- juliemL5169MG (6/5): Faded glory saved by staff - Although I’ve just heard that the hotel is about to close at the end of the year for renovations, I think I’d still like to review it for our recent stay anyway. The staff here are very nice and that’s what actually saves the hotel on many levels. But, the morning we arrived we didn’t get any assistance with our luggage and the bellboy was nowhere to be seen. The room ( and I stress, is about to be renovated) , was plainly awful! The wallpaper was old and stained and the bathroom the worst I’ve encountered in a supposedly luxury hotel, the hot water took about 10 minutes to come through and it was tricky getting into the skinny bath with the overhead shower which was very ineffective. The bedlinen was tired with thin sheets that have seen better days. The room itself was really weird with strange little closets along the long entrance into the room. Unfortunately we arrived during very hot weather and the aircon was extremely inefficient, uncomfortable in fact. The saving factors were breakfast which was plentiful with fresh eggs cooked to your liking and everything you could want. We ate dinner in the restaurant on our last night and were pleasantly surprised at the quality of the food and the knowledgeable and friendly staff , especially the young wine waiter and the maitre de. We wish the hotel all the best with the impending renovations which are way overdue!
- mindarella24 (10/5): Beautiful Hotel Bristol - Beautiful from check in to check out. Had 2 gorgeously appointed rooms that connected. The beds were so comfortable and the towels and bathroom amenities all excellent. Especially loved the coffee in the rooms, and the Mozart marzipan chocolates at turn down! The hotel staff were all accommodating and immediate to respond to every request. The breakfast buffet is excellent with a lot of options for gluten free travelers, all clearly marked. The location is outstanding too.

- Ronald (8/5): - Booked this hotel for my wife’s 70 th birthday for a full week all inclusive. Upon arrival everything was excellent the booking in system to taking our cases to our rooms. The hotel is excellent for its history and decor. The following morning went to breakfast where you have to wait at the entrance to be shown to a table, eventually someone came showed us a table and left, waited for a while thinking it was waiter service, nothing happened so went back to the entrance an enquired what was happening told it was self service and other things regarding tea/coffee stated it would be nice if we were told this at the beginning. Noticed during the week several clientele had the same problems so seems they did not rectify their error. Must state the evening meals were superb, advise to book a table for each evening as they get busy, Jayne was excellent looking after us throughout the week, only downside was the menu which stayed the same almost for the entire week. Room was excellent as were the housekeepers. Overall we were well looked after but I think the American visitors were looked after better!

There was one person at the check in at 11pm and he was handling a complaint from a very rude customer totally ignoring me who just wanted a key to the room and go to bed. When finally got my room the bed was great, the bathroom was very good but the room was too small, the view did not merit opening the curtains and the carpet was old and gave the impression of being dirty.

A classic room does not mean a dungeon. Expedia should push for better rooms for its customers.

We were not disappointed! If you are going to Vienna and wants something that is truly authentic in its beauty, location and professional staff, you must stay here. Kudos to Michael the bellman who essentially became a friend. He was walking down the street on his day off in casual clothes and bumped into us in front of the hotel. He went about caring for us and getting a taxi and all else, giving us guidance on some things to do and best modes of transportation! Who is a great example of the kind of people who work at that hotel. The front desk, concierge, and restaurant exemplified similar types of people. Vienna is such a wonderful City this is a wonderful place to experience it.

The room and hotel was in an authentic period decor, very elegant. It was very quiet in the room, spacious, with a coffee machine. The room service was super fast. We enjoyed a meal in the evening in the restaurant. We also had breakfast every morning which had alot of choice. Really convenient location, outside the underground but easy walking distance to most attractions, would definately stay here again.
- Jane (10/5): - A beautifully designed & decorated hotel, centrally located, it was like staying in a museum! There was a fabulous selection at breakfast, dinner and the aftetnoon tea is not to be missed. They catered for all tastes and adapted to the varying needs in our party ( vegetarian, de caf, low fat) the staff were friendly, efficient and couldnt do enough to make our experience the best stay weve had anywhere in the world! All the staff were really flexible, taking our order & serving earlier so we could eat at supper at our leisure & still be at the opera for 7pm. The bedrooms were luxurious, clean and well maintained, and the chocolate each night on the turn down service was really appreciated. From reception to waitressing, maids to doorman, we cant recommend it enough and we'll certainty be back when we visit Vienna again!

- LIOR (10/5): Highly recommended, Great location/service - We stayed a the Bristol hotel for 4 nights during December. This is a real luxury hotel with a great location and great service. We had a room with a 'city view'. you do not get much view but when you open the window you can see the Opera house just in front of you. Breakfast was excellent with a great variety of food. Service is very, very good. The room and the hotel is very decorated and you feel the atmosphere of a 130-year-old building that carry the history of this area. One note: The acoustics in our room was not very good so we could hear our next door neighbors even when they talk. Overall, highly recommended

- Mktkcf (10/5): - This was a beautiful property full of old world charm. The room was lovely and the housekeeping staff were wonderful. The breakfast buffet was wonderful with a wide variety of options including made to order eggs or waffles. The only improvement opportunity is the concierge- there were two: one who was cordial and the other who was very difficult. On my first night I asked about a restaurant and he pointed at the door and told me to ask the doorman for directions. I didn’t want directions just his feedback on the restaurant. Very unpleasant and rude to me.
