- Sophie (9/5): Just charming! - Super Früstück und 1a Personal
- Phil (8/5): Mad weekend at the Hatters Hotel - Great location, good sized room with fridge, good breakfast A bit expensive for what it is
- John (9/5): Quirky and well positioned - Close to Thames and central London.
Excellent breakfast.
The room had a view over a vacant site onto Blackfriars Road. I enjoyed theat ever changing view many times.
- Karin (7/5): Fint og rent hotel i gåafstand til mange seværdigheder - Rigtig god beliggenhed ift mange seværdigheder. Venligt personale.
Dejligt med frisklavet engelsk morgenmad. For lille seng til 2 voksne. Kun én stor dyne.

- Andrea (9/5): Perfekter Ort in super Lage in London.
- Roger (10/5): ❤️Mad about the Mad Hatter - Great staff from the front desk to the house cleaning.
We were immediately greeted with friendly service, and our room was available several hours early of check in time.
The breakfast was amazing and even though we checked out prior to breakfast hours on the second day, the staff prepared us a to-go version.
Highly recommend this land mark hotel!!!
The room was huge, and the Nespresso machine was a welcome morning and evening delight, offering fantastic coffee.
- The-M-Connection GmbH (10/5): Gern wieder für einen Short Trip. Nice too see you again guys.

- KerstiKK (7/5): - Location, friendly personell, good breakfast! The hotel is a bit tired, lights not working, needa refreshment.
- Heather (10/5): Fun hotel in a great location. Big thanks to friendly staff! - Loved it! The fun Alice in wonderland theme, Staff was awesome! Great location. Great breakfast Just could use a little overall cleaning
- Rowan (10/5): -
- Willemijn (9/5): Friendly stay at lovely, well situated hotel - The breakfast is amazing! Both a la cart and buffet. Nothing
- Britt&Dean (8/5): - The theme of the hotel - a former hat factory - very cool! The coffee, teas and water amenities were great. The pub was clean, had great food and a good variety of breakfast. Thr staff were awesome, friendly and inviting Minor repairs required in our room and the pillows
- Fabien (9/5): -
- Leslie (9/5): - Staff were outstanding—friendly, professional and so helpful.
- megan (10/5): Fantastic! - Staff were amazing. Very good breakfast options, very generous! N/a
- Tanya (10/5): What a find! Quirky and fabulous! - Lovely staff very welcoming, friendly and helpful. No complaints at all, absolutely loved it will definitely come back again!

- Daniel (7/5): Rooms require refurbishing, but breakfast made it up - The breakfast was great and all the personnel was very friendly and nice. I had a pretty old room which desperately needs a refurbishment.
- anthony (10/5): - Friendly staff Nothing
- Katleen (9/5): 100% English - Fijne ligging en heel vriendelijk personeel! Niets
- Alice (8/5): -
- Anna (10/5): -
- Adam (9/5): - Comfortable, clean, great location and lovely staff
- Sarah (7/5): Country people in the city. - Great staff, great breakfast facilities. Some fixtures need some tlc, wallpaper coming away at the top near the ceiling, mould in grout and silicone around shower screen. Couldn't sleep due to noise on the main road where we were placed. Cars with loud music, people shouting in the street, vans and lorries with flashing light like a disco in our room.
- Heather (8/5): Excellent place to stay on the South Bank - Great location, so close to South Bank and walkable to train station.and theatres, Bus services very close. Room was comfortable, spacious, bright and warm. Shower and bathroom very good. Staff were pleasant and accommodating. Food was ok for evening meals - pub grub, but the breakfast was better, plentiful, nutritious and varied, cooked to order if you wanted it. We'll stay here again when in London, definitely! Nothing. Oh, except there was only one chair in the bedroom, one of us had to sit on the bed!
- Margaret (10/5): Quirky, exceptional hotel - The hotel, the food, the situation.
Breakfast was exceptional.
The pub was so handy to relax at the end of a busy day along with food that was beautifully cooked and tasty.
The situation was excellent. Easy to walk to.many well known places but also so.many stations in a short distance to easily use public transport.
The staff were all lovely and really helpful.
Looking forward to returning Nothing.
- Ellen (8/5): Good location for reasonable price. Run by a young group for - Breakfast service was erratic. Staff was not well trained or supervised.
- camilla (8/5): -
- Cathy (8/5): A very comfortable well situated hotel. - I liked the Mad Hatter Theme & reading about the history of the building Breakfast buffet was very good and the selection of cooked options. Tea,coffee making in the room. Water & milk in the fridge. Décor a bit out dated
- Walmsley (8/5): - Great location. Room was a good size with free water, tea and coffee.
- Paul (8/5): -
- Nathan (7/5): -
- sux66 (6/5): All looks but no substance - Friendly staff. Good breakfast. Although the coffee is not fresh brewed and it was cold.
The hot water for the tea tasted of coffee and that was cold too
The pub food was poor. It came 5 mins after ordering.
The hotel states the reception is manned through the night but this is not the case. It closes at 11pm. Therefore if you are later back you get locked out.
- N8559BPchrisi (10/5): Fabulous hotel! - We had the best time at The Mad Hatter! We were booked in for 6 nights and loved them all. The staff was AMAZING! Super friendly and engaging. All the food was delicious, wonderful variety to suit every taste, and vegetarian/ plant based options. The pub- so nice to have a sweet and lively, but not at all rowdy, pub right downstairs after a busy day out.The bar was well stocked with wine to bourbon to porter. The housekeeping staff was super! The room was really comfortable (larger than I was led to believe central London hotels would be), stocked each day with great coffee and tea and biscuits, great towels and fabulous robes to wrap up in. Thank you Robbie for running such a great hotel, and thank you Luke and Sammy for chatting with us and helping us find our way in your city.
I cannot say enough great things about The Mad Hatter. Terrific location: a block from Black Friars bridge, train station, and underground, three blocks from Southwark Underground station, a block from the walk along the Thames and all there is to do there. We definitely highly recommend it.
- Martina (10/5): - Perfect location, great staff, nice food!
- Laura (8/5): -
- ceedeet (8/5): Great location - Guest discount.
Evening menu
Chap on reception outstanding customer service.. Poor cooked breakfast
Bacon and Sausage overcooked
Tomato was hardly worth it.
I still ate it so just pointing out the faults.
- Jan (10/5): -
- Christine (10/5): Outstanding - The location for South Bank was perfect, two minute walk to river. Building was beautiful and well maintained. Room was so much larger than other hotels I have stayed in. Staff couldn’t do enough for you, seemed to genuinely want you to enjoy your stay which was commendable. Breakfast buffet was outstanding in quality and choice, had no room for cooked menu that was available! Nothing

- Oliver (8/5): -

- Daniel (10/5): -
- James (9/5): I’ll stay again when visiting London. - Very friendly staff, great location, cool atmosphere.
- Fernando (10/5): -
- Jill (9/5): - A few lovely extra touches, with quality teas, coffees, fridge contents. Discount at the restaurant was a nice bonus too. Reception area could have a bit more wow facture, in the theme of the hotel.
- Joan (9/5): Cozy hotel - Very nice hotel with a cozy atmosphere. Gentle staff, always ready to help. Splendid breakfast and nice to have a pub in the hotel.
- Tammy (9/5): Loved it and would go back any time….def recommend - I love the quirkiness of the property I didn’t like how loud it was overnight by outside vehicle traffic
- Kiran (10/5): - Great location, nice pub attached
- Josephine (8/5): Having stayed twice previously would definitely stay again! - Location was great! Didn’t have breakfast on this stay but previously have and it good! It was lovely nice place to stay!
- Elaine (6/5): The hotel is fine for an overnight stay - Location and restaurant , the hat and Alice in wonderland touches The breakfast , over cooked bacon and cold eggs
- Nicolas (9/5): -
- Hotchkiss (10/5): -
- Jack (10/5): I would definitely recommend this hotel it’s close to afew tube stations and great priced - Even if you aren’t a Alice in wonderland fan this is an amazing hotel. The staff were amazing especially Luke he was so welcoming on the front desk and could answer a lot of our questions. There isn’t a lot I could point out really that the hotel owners could change. The land around the hotel isn’t that pleasing to look at but nothing they can do about it.
- wearywollie (10/5): A bit of a gem find - What a find, an immaculate hotel and pub all yards/meters from Blackfriars station, literally a 2 minute walk. I often travel in on the Bed/Pan line from Flitwick and to find a reasonable hotel certainly within my budget that I can use as a base whilst in town suits me perfectly. Good breakfast included, lovely clean room and large enough not to walk in to a wall, I shall book again
- Jayne (9/5): Very enjoyable stay - Convenient location. Comfortable and clean room. Breakfast included. Friendly and helpful staff Room decor was a little tired
- Valeria (10/5): - Struttura accogliente.
Personale disponibile e simpatico.
Colazione ricca e con opzioni vegetariane. Nulla
- Kate (5/5): Underwhelming for the price. - Quite good breakfast. Location convenient. Building tired. Room boiling hot, fan missing remote control so only partially usable. Windows wouldn't open and too noisy if they could. Had to chase down staff, not always at desk, reception phone not answered. Expensive.
- Miranda (8/5): -
- Kathrin Klinkhammer (10/5): -
- Michelle (10/5): From the friendliest welcome to the beautiful bright clean comfortable room - everything was just perfect! - So very quirky and such a change from the usual corporate, purple places! Location was perfect for central London tourist sightseeing but lovely and quiet/calm after a busy day - the perfect mix! Absolutely nothing - this hotel ticked every box for us.
- John (10/5): -
- Melissa (9/5): - Bedrooms were beautifully decorated. Lots of thoughtful touches. The resident discount on alcohol was a great touch which encouraged us to stay in for longer than we had planned!
- Gerard (3/5): Breakfast extremely disappointing - Nice hotel, staff were great Breakfast the following morning was a joke, extremely disappointing, no tables available or setup, all tables dirty, no clean cups, or cutlery to help our selves to the continental breakfast or what was left, no staff on hand to greet or speak to us initially.
- James (8/5): Good overall but couple of issues. - The staff were helpful and we liked the quirky décor from Alice in Wonderland. It was also convenient to be able to leave the cases there before we checked in. My meal in the restaurant was very poor, as the potatoes were served burnt and the salmon was overcooked. I was offered a free dessert though which was appreciated, but food like that should never pass a quality check to start with. Road traffic was also noisy.
- Clea (9/5): À refaire ! - L’endroit est idéal ! Metro a 10min à pied.
- Hannah (8/5): Comfortable lodgings in a great location, would return - Great location, large room, friendly welcome Breakfast was nice but the offering was a bit odd (ordered eggs on toast but told to make one toast in morning 1; morning 2 made my own toast and then eggs arrived with it). Sense some staff not up to speed
- Dan (10/5): Wonderful - Reception
- Holly (10/5): - Very friendly staff, lovely rooms Nothing
- Alan (10/5): Perfect - Everything Nothing
