- agY5792AJ (6/5): Winter at the Pierre - The location was perfect. The room and bathroom were both a good size. The atmosphere was okay, although the staff were not particularly friendly on arrival. The people checking in next to me were offered water, while I was not, which suggests inconsistent service and a lack of attention to detail. The room was not the cleanest, and the bathroom was filthy. I complained about the bathroom, but the woman who was apparently the front desk manager was dismissive. I ended up showing her photos on my phone of the disgusting shower head and the colour of my disinfectant wipe after removing some of the mould. I was told it would be resolved while I was out, but it wasn’t. Housekeeping returned and said it had been cleaned, yet it was still dirty, so I had to take baths for the rest of my stay. A more senior manager later called me and offered a dining credit; her tone and attitude were far more professional than those at the front desk. The front desk staff and housekeeping’s cleaning have made me question whether I would return.

- jingjing_an (10/5): Stay here while you still can (before it’s gone like the Plaza Athenee)! - Staying here has made me want to try the other classic, dying, institutional New York hotels. It has so much personality. It’s large, clean, and incredibly comfortable. The staff are service-oriented yet idiosyncratic dinosaurs. (Not that I’d want them to be any different!) There are elevator attendants! There’s a Bose CD player in the room, but no bluetooth (at least I couldn’t figure out how to). It’s a time capsule. We’re lucky it’s still available to the public. Don’t stay at the Carlyle, bc they’re good at marketing and will be there. This place, I’m not so sure. Again, huge rooms that are clean (twice per day room service) and beautiful. Attention to details like fresh Cala Lillies in the cafe. Can’t ask for more!

The room was completely inadequate for a suite in a hotel that calls itself luxury, with wallpaper peeling off the walls and drapes falling apart. I got charged more per night than my original booking and them some breakfast we never had and when I emailed to enquire about it, I received the most AI generated answer possible. I don't think I've ever had such a horrendous experience at a hotel at this price! Truly awful

Although our room wasn't available when we arrived the reception and bellman personnel were very accommodating. They held our bags and promised to get us settled as quickly as housekeeping was finished,. We took a walk through Central Park (right across the street) and had coffee before returning. Our room -- which was upgraded to a magnificent suite - was ready. All was beautiful and well worth the wait.nt in the restaurant was excellent as well. Looking forward to returning again for our next celebration. Must thank Sam at reception for all her help.

On both mornings, we heard people screaming into a phone (the first morning on one side, the next morning on the other side). The hotel didn't act fast enough to stop this. Either the walls are too thin or you need to regulate this. 2. There was a constant drumbeat from a pipe that also kept us up. 3. Food delivery is not allowed inside. It took us over 20 minutes to find our food post-delivery. 4. Your staff was mean and snooty to the delivery person. Not acceptable. 5. You said that the GM would reach out. Never happened.

- 600arias (2/5): Suite Reyad - After being a client of Suite Reyad for over four to five years, I have never experienced such dismissive and unprofessional treatment from a business that presents itself as a luxury salon. I traveled over three hours from Port Jefferson into Manhattan for a 4:30 PM appointment. I arrived at approximately 4:50 PM, only to be told that the stylist had already left because the staff “assumed I wasn’t coming.” What is unbelievable is that no one from the salon attempted to call or text to check whether I was on my way something that would have taken seconds and could have easily prevented this situation. Instead, the woman at the front desk simply informed me the stylist had left and that there were “no rules” for accommodating me. The delivery was dry, dismissive, and completely lacking any sense of hospitality. There was no apology, no attempt to contact the stylist, no effort to help resolve the situation, and not even the basic courtesy of offering water or coffee after I had just spent hours traveling to the city. When I spoke to the owner about what happened, rather than acknowledging that a simple courtesy call could have prevented the situation, he repeatedly brought up that I had canceled appointments in the past “nine times,” which he mentioned over and over as if that somehow justified the complete lack of communication or professionalism in this situation. I made it clear that those appointments had been canceled, not no-shows, which is a completely different thing. Yet he continued repeating the number as if lecturing a customer who had supported the salon for years. At one point he even said he could charge me immediately for those nine cancellations if I wanted to “play that game,” which was astonishing to hear from a business owner speaking to a client who had been coming there for years and consistently tipping generously. For a salon operating inside The Pierre Hotel and presenting itself as a high-end luxury experience, the complete absence of accountability, hospitality, or even basic courtesy was shocking. The entire interaction made it very clear that once a client becomes inconvenient to their schedule, loyalty and long-term support mean absolutely nothing. After five years as a client and hours spent traveling for this appointment, the dismissive attitude from both the front desk and the owner made it clear that this is not a business that values the people who support it. I will not be returning.

- Zoi (9/5): Living like the rich - Landmark hotel that just sends you to fantasy land of how the rich live. The staff is the nicest I have encountered, especially the elevator ladies and the doorman. It was an overall exquisite experience. The bathroom for a park view room was tiny. The mural room-the reason I stayed there-begs for high tea or afternoon coffee service and maybe some opera singing.
- Miamethyst (10/5): Quiet Luxury in NYC - The Pierre Hotel is located in one of the most convenient and central locations in NYC. The staff from the doorman to the elevator operator, and everyone in between was welcoming, polite and helpful. The room upgrade really impressed me. The Pierre Suite is so spacious yet cozy and allowed us to really relax on our staycation. We were surprised at the good condition, and quiet operation of the room and its HVAC. In other historic hotels we have stayed in, they had struggled with adapting quite HVAC into their existing architecture. The bathroom was lovely with all the granite and spacious shower and plenty of towels. The robe and slippers, luxurious (as expected), as was the comfy bed, and amazing pillows. The two things that elevated your property above others during our stay was the surprise fruit platter left during turndown service along with coffee and tea service. I think that was my favorite part, because it meant we could snuggle in, in the morning on the sofa and read and drink and have something to eat before greeting the day outside. The other complimentary delight was the availability of your town car, especially since it was raining all day on our first day. It was a Delightful Getaway!

- rchivukula (10/5): Wonderful Valentine’s Stay with Central Park Views - We had a fantastic Valentine’s Day stay at The Pierre, A Taj Hotel, and it exceeded our expectations. We were delighted to receive a complimentary room upgrade to one with a Central Park view — waking up to that scenery made the celebration even more special. The room was impeccably maintained throughout our stay. Housekeeping was attentive and thoughtful, always ensuring we were well stocked with water and that everything remained spotless. In the evening, we visited the Two E Bar & Lounge, which offered a wonderful ambiance and live jazz that perfectly complemented the occasion. It was elegant without feeling overly formal — just right for Valentine’s Day. Breakfast at Perrine was equally impressive. The food quality was excellent, and the service was warm, professional, and efficient. Overall, it was a memorable and well-curated experience from start to finish. We would gladly return for another special occasion.
- michellemC774FG (8/5): Worth considering with a few caveats. - Generally Hotel has a lot to offer. Certainly very nice rooms and bathrooms with excellent bathroom amenities. Breakfast was very good and staff attentive. I hesitate on whether I will return or not, my son lives in NY and I was hoping to have a good Hotel to make my regular choice, but a couple of things put me off. First, there was no charging station in the room. I brought my own cables but no adaptor as on previous occasions staying at other hotels in the area there was always one in the room. When I asked at reception they said they might be able to get me one but at $40 charge. Secondly, I had pills, that I take daily, sitting on the top shelf in the bathroom. But after my room was cleaned they were missing. I know this was just an accident and do get that but I thought the front desk would have offered some token gesture by way of an apology.
- Giancarlo (9/5): Excellent location, attentive staff, historic landmark. - Pros: Quiet luxury and grand dame look; you can feel its history. Location is excellent, right on 5th Ave at the SE corner of Central Park and close to several subway stations. Breakfast and lunch were great. The Rotonda is beautiful for afternoon tea or even as a work/leisure space. Friendly and attentive staff--particular shoutout to Luis at Perrine Restaurant. Cons: Room service is not 24/7 and operates until 10:30-11pm. The room was smaller than expected and a bit dated (the bathroom was not). My main qualm was with the astonishing amount of static in the room, particularly the bed/linens and even the cotton towels. I presume it's a seasonal issue now in the wintertime, but I wish they could use anti-static spray to mitigate.
- copelin85 (8/5): Worth the stay in a beautiful hotel in a perfect location, just not if you prefer to order room service as well. - Great location, wonderful service, and beautiful hotel. Room service breakfast prices leave you with the sense that the hotel prefers not to provide room service and thus charges quite unreasonable prices or the hotel is taking advantage of a guest - neither strike a guest well. Also, in the common bathrooms near the elevators, one of the bathrooms has a damaged sconce. Leaves a guest with the sense of deferred maintenance. Context for comment regarding room service: My wife and I love to choose upscale hotels and order room service for breakfast. While the service was great, and the orange juice was perfect, the prices to order eggs, coffee, juice and some minor meat sides (bacon for one and ham for the other) were quite unreasonable. A guest is left with the sense that they’re being nickel and dime-ed - many upscale hotels include breakfast as part of the stay. I would prefer to pay a higher room rate and acknowledge the choice of an upscale stay rather than pay (perhaps) slightly less and spend $200 for an egg and coffee breakfast. It becomes a matter of being reasonable with your guests or being unreasonable and tacky.

Due to the freezing weather, we ate at the hotel restaurant (Perrine) more than expected which was comfortable and the food was all very good.

- Ioannis Malekos (9/5): A privileged way to see New York - Very stylish high level hotel, very helpful staff, nice breakfast, big rooms and bathrooms, excellent location ( central park, museums, high level shopping, metro, the opera). I would like to mention that the staff provided us a coffee machine in the room, suggested restaurants and made reservations, called taxis,... The guests are assisted very well and always with a smile. The air-conditioning in the room was old fashioned, noisy and would either frize the room or leave it hot. Really needs update.

Upon check in there are things that weren’t provided. Ex. We have to call house keeping for a toothbrush. We expected to have a tissue in the bedroom and the living room and there was none. There is also no iron and iron board.
- BATMANCATWOMAN (10/5): A Hotel with Old World Charm - We were fortunate enough to spend time at the Pierre Hotel located on 61st Street in NYC while attending a Gala over the weekend. We loved the Premier Pierre Suite featuring a King Bed and stunning views of Manhattan. The hotel and its rooms exude a lovely old-world charm that is truly beautiful. The amenities include a doorman, a restaurant, and the MarieBelle Chocolate Store and more. The elevators also possess charm, complete with elevator operators. A wonderful place to stay.

Extra large bed, spotless - both room and linen, room service and permanent assistance from the reception will make your stay a perfect one. They accommodated my son in the same room and I really appreciated that. The breakfast was a la carte, with enough choices not to get bored and really really tasty, regardless of your choice. My only remark regarding it is that when you pay such an amount on a room and you have breakfast included, you expect to be really included. Instead, we were given a 96 USD credit for the breakfast, and we had to pay what exceeded that amount. It leaves a bad taste and is a shame, as everything else was perfect. Is not like you have multiple mouth and you will eat 5 breakfasts... A lounge bar offers a wide range of drinks, the atmosphere was cozy, the waiters were super nice and is really worth spending some time there after a full day. For dinner - we only tried it once in their restaurant, it was good, but not something out of ordinary, even though the menu looked fantastic.

- Gruver (10/5): Very good hotel in a great location - This place ticked all the boxes. The service was very good, and the room (including the bathroom) was quite spacious and comfortable, which is a real treat in New York. And like a real five star hotel, they have turn down service absolutely mastered — it magically occurred with no interaction, despite my varying dinner schedules. Unusually, I also had more than my fair share of meals at the hotel on this visit , and enjoyed the restaurant, as well as the old school glamorous bar. And, of course, the location simply cannot be beat. I’m really glad I gave this place a shot in spite of some negative reviews.
- Adventure43457461042 (10/5): Old School Elegance - A big THANK YOU to the Pierre for making my daughter’s engagement weekend a success. The rooms were sparkling clean and very well appointed. The staff were professional and friendly - particularly Randall at the front door. We noted on the reservation that the suite was for a proposal and the hotel had a bottle of bubbly as well as some fruit and cheese waiting. They helped to create a perfect memory! My new favorite hotel in the city!

Ne recommande pas de prendre le petit déjeuner avec la chambre. serveurs au petit déjeuner un peu trop agressifs pour pousser à la consommation.

I can't tell you how good since I was never downstairs by that time. Thet should realize you're on vacation and serve until 10 AM.
- meghanaiuyen (10/5): A Verry Merry Stay - My husband and I were lucky enough to book a room at The Pierre during Christmas time and couldn’t be happier with our stay! Our arrival was smooth and we were able to check-in to our room extra early after taking a red-eye to JFK. Every staff member was warm and welcoming to us. We started off our days having breakfast at the hotel and ended our days at the lounge. Can’t beat the location as it’s nice, quiet, and peaceful, as opposed to another famed hotel, closeby ;). Wonderful experience, would love to stay again soon!

- O6472ZNbrianh (10/5): Great Hotel, Staff, and Location - My family and I were in NY for the last week of the year, arriving Christmas Day. From check-in on, staff could not have been nicer. Everyone we encountered from the staff out front, the people operating the elevators and especially the people maintaining our floor and suite. Location was fantastic, we had a wonderful time in the city and we're always happy when we got back to the hotel. I read the negative reviews before arriving to set my expectations for the worst. Our experience was excellent. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. They hallways and rooms could have been perfect like I would have expected at the Ritz-Carlton or similar hotel but I found the property very warm and the rate very good. We ended up with an Executive Suite with a second bathroom so our kids could meet us and my wife not have to share her bathroom. Location could not have been better as we could walk to everything and the Subways were around the corner. We hope you have the same experience.

- gracepf2000 (10/5): The best Christmas - From start to finish we had the most amazing stay. All staff from the doormen to the cleaners went above and beyond, the food was amazing and it was the most magical stay over Christmas. Wouldn’t stay anywhere else and was never wanted the trip to end.
