- Kevin (8/5): - I have stayed at this property multiple times. It is close to PVG Terminal 1. They provide regular shuttle service to the airport. If you are up to it, you can walk to and from Terminal 1. It is consistently a great option on either end of a trip.

- Buk65 (8/5): Perfectly good airport hotel - The Ramada at Shanghai airport is about 10 minutes from the airport by their frequent and efficient free shuttle bus. The hotel is big and nice with a decent restaurant. Breakfast is good. My room was a good size and I didn’t hear any aircraft noise.

- Angelclad (2/5): Double charged my stay and no refund - To cut long story short, I paid for 1 night stay at Ramada Plaza Shanghai Pudong through hotels.com on 12 April 2025. However, when I checked in the hotel insisted that they haven't received the money from hotels.com. We had to pay for the room again. The hotel double charged us. We tried to get our money back, but both hotels.com and Ramada Plaza Shanghai Pudong are not willing to communicate and solved the simple problem. Ramada Plaza promised that they will sort through the problem but up until today (11 May) there was still no communication with them. I had tried various ways to contact them (hotels.com message service, their hotel's email), but I received no reply at all. They had not refunded my money.
- Lixing (8/5): - The hotel is close to the airport, so that noise is not avoided. However, the hotel may use multiple ways to reduce noise of the guest room, such double pane windows.
- Shaina (6/5): Close to airport - I had a flight arriving at 6am so I booked the night before so I could get a few hours of sleep after a long overnight flight. I informed them of this in advance. When I arrived it took them a very long time to check me in, and at one point they took another customer in the middle of helping me. I was exhausted and just wanted to sleep. I ended up only getting 2 hours before I needed to checkout for my tour. The room was nice though for the short amount of time I was able to use it.

- Verified traveler (2/5): Ramada Plaza refused to refund my money - I made a reservation through hotels.com for a one night stay at Ramada Plaza Shanghai Pudong Airport and paid for it with my credit card. My card was charged and the hotels.com receipt clearly stated "paid by visa". When I checked-in at the hotel, I was informed by the check in staff that my stay was not paid for yet. Since it was already midnight at the the time of check-in, I had no choice to pay for the room again. Afterwards I tried to get a refund for the double payment. However, up until now, my money was not refunded to me. According to the Hotels.com Support Ramada Plaza Shanghai Pudong Airport informed them that the booking was a no-show, and Ramada Plaza charged Hotels.com for the no-show fee. Whilte the reply from Ramada Plaza Shanghai was: It should be the deposit or guarantee money collected by the platform. Please contact the platform for refund. Our hotel has not received any fees from the platform. Both sides are not communicating and working to solve this problem. I have attached all proof of payment and receipt and sent it to hotels.com and yet they ignored it all. They wanted an official invoice from Ramada Plaza which was not provided by Ramada Plaza. I only received credit card payment slip from Ramada Plaza. This is a very disappointing experience and is taking up my time trying in getting my money back. Both hotels.com and the Ramada Plaza Shanghai are not taking responsibility for the matter.

- touchthesky82 (10/5): Exceeded our expectations - We arrived from Melbourne via Guangzhou around 10.30pm and rather than make our way into town, decided we'd stay near the airport to get sleep as soon as possible. Yes the hotel is outdated in decor but the check in was super fast, hotel very clean, suite was HUGE, including the awesome bathroom which is almost room sized itself, and the breakfast was really fab. Loved the restaurant and it was a nice way to slowly ease in to the beginning of our week in Shanghai. There's a free shuttle direct to both terminals which we took (check hotel website for timings, and note that it doesn't run frequently at certain periods of the day). From there we were able to purchase maglev tickets into town which drastically cuts the travel time and travelling 300km/h is a fun experience. To get right into the city, you need to change lines, but it's easily done via Alipay/WePay or purchasing from service desk. All in all, we loved it and would definitely return if we ever have another late night arrival into Shanghai.

Food is always good and the rooms are nice and pretty quiet for a hotel that is near the airport. The hotel is older but had good character and the staff is always friendly.

- Lucille (6/5): Service not great, nice room and good value - I used the hotel for a long stop over. The hotel was clean, large room with comfortable bed and nice bathroom. The shower was cold water. The reception staff could not find my booking so it took about 1/2 an hour to check in so that was really annoying. I could not connect to WiFi and they said it was my phone but had no issues anywhere else. The main reception area was really nice with lots of seating.

- UlyanaInStars (6/5): Convenient location, good breakfast, average rooms - ROOMS: rather spacious room but a yet worn out. The room is equipped with a fridge, safe, working zone. Big bathroom with a shower and bath - necessities, bathrobes and slippers are provided. Sometimes you can hear some noise from the airport, but it’s more romantic than disturbing. In case you can’t sleep and relax, earplugs are provided. LOCATION: 7-10min drive from the airport. FOOD: breakfast buffet (6-10am) is very good and various - here you can find international dishes and local specialties as well. Eggs, meat, fish, cheeses, rice and noodles, dim sums, vegetables - you can definitely find something for you. Yoghurts, fresh fruits and pancakes are presented as well. In winter period heating doesn’t work good - it’s a little bit cold inside the restaurant. FACILITIES: scheduled shuttle bus from the airport (hourly), wi-fi, ATM, gym, ball rooms, small shop, VR. STAFF: could be more attentive and friendly.

- Reslimpan (6/5): Convenient - Stayed here for a total of 7 hours. I had an early flight back home and came in late from the hinterlands the night before take off. Checking in was no problem, it was quick and efficient. Their English was certainly better than my Chinese. My room was ok size. The room was dated but clean and surprisingly no smell of cigarettes. As expected some noise from the airport as well as from traffic. The 3 m earplugs provided by the hotel worked well. The morning shuttle bus leaves every 30 minutes. Terminal 1 is about 5 minutes away and Terminal 2 about 10 minutes away.

Since its close to the airport the sound of planes is prevalent throughout the day/night. The hotel thoughtfully provide ear plugs. Breakfast buffet was 138RMB. Plenty of choices, western and eastern food. It was not great but ok. I would stay again in similar circumstances and would recommend for such.

It's a pure Scam don't even spare your time to look into them. If they are keep on troubling offer some very low price such that they will curse you and move away.

- S5293HFrichardm (2/5): No Longer Tenable - I’ve been coming to this hotel for close to 20 years, and i’m afraid to say this is my last stay at this hotel. There is no air conditioning in the rooms (as it’s the winter heating season) and the temperature in the room was over 28°C. When I complained, the suggestion by the hotel staff was to open a window and turn off the air conditioning system in the room! The hotel did provide a fan on request, however the room was still too hot to have a good night’s sleep. Interestingly, the main foyer and the hotel corridors were air-conditioned. Whilst there, it felt as though the hotel management have attempted to take out further cost and privileges; for example the Stella and Hoegaarden served in the bar was not chilled, nor was the glass filled to the appropriate measure. We had paid for executive rooms with lounge access, and the service was simply nonexistent. The meal that was served was OK, but very expensive and we were unable to charge the cost to the room as the check-in staff had not taken a deposit on check in. Poor! The staff are inadequately trained and, for what is considered an international hotel, catering for foreign guests, this is simply not good enough. The hotel is now starting to look very tired, including the rooms, and the touch of luxury that once existed has long since gone. Very sad, and the end of an era!
- Agamemnon69 (2/5): Avoid, avoid, avoid. - I have been staying at this hotel for many years and this is the worst experience I’ve ever had. The check-in staff had very, very limited English and did not ask us if we wanted to leave a deposit to enable us to charge to the room. On arriving in the room the temperature was 28.5°C. Apparently, due to district heating, air-conditioning is not available during the winter months. However, they are able to air condition the lobby and the corridors so this just does not ring true. When we went to the restaurant, I ordered my usual pint of Hoegaarden - the chillers had been switched off and the beer was warm. My colleague ordered a Stella and experienced the same thing. The hotel is tired, the toilets are very dirty and smelly and the overall experience is something I would simply like to forget. Sadly, we won’t ever be returning to this hotel given the experiences we’ve had during this trip. We had seen this coming as, over the last few years and visits, the hotel has steadily declined and the stay tonight was the last straw I would advise, if you are considering an airport hotel, to make a different choice. Abysmal.
- Yaritza (8/5): - Only stayed for one night during our layover. The hotel was nice, the staff was friendly. I would give 5 stars if it wasn't for the fact that they couldn't find our reservation made through a worldwide third-party travel site. We had to wait too long around 22:00 for them to find it even though I provided confirmation of booking through my app. When you've flown quite a bit and are tired it's not ok to make people wait like this. Other than that our stay was pleasant, room was clean and we hung out in the lounge for many hours until it was time to go to airport. You can work peacefully in the lounge. The restaurant has many cuisines to choose from and food is pretty ok.

- Joan (10/5): - This hotel served its purpose of providing me with a comfortable place to sleep at the aiport, before an early morning flight. The restaurant was perfectly adequate, and the hotel was quiet, in spite of being at the airport.
- 5_0f_us (8/5): Nice updated rooms - Rooms have been updated and are nice and comfortable. It is located very close to the hotel, but note that you cannot walk and the bus times have big gaps in the afternoon. As cash is not widely used, you need to have WeChat or other payment if you want a taxi (well if you want change). Some of the restaurants have closed down and the remaining one is just average.

- RossOrpington (10/5): Great 1 night stay - I stayed in this hotel, in room 707, only 1 night whilst waiting for my morning flight back to the UK. Having read several reviews of this hotel, I hope I can dispel some of the misleading comments that have been made. Firstly getting there. There is a hotel shuttle service, the times of which vary throughout the day. Terminal 1 pickups are from Gate 9 on the 1st floor. Terminal 2 pickups are from Gate 27 on the 1st floor. The current schedule is attached but also see the link below. Note that you can choose to take a paid service if you just miss a shuttle. Do not try walking to the hotel, even though it appears close. In theory, walking might be possible but the road arrangements are such that you have to walk out of your way and it would takes as long as waiting for the next shuttle. Some travellers have claimed taxi drivers will not take you there. Wrong. I took a taxi and had no problems. The fare was 33RMB. However, I gave him 100RMB and told him to keep the change. Naturally he was delighted and broke into effusive English. If you do encounter problems then simply offer to pay the taxi driver more than the fare! I was quickly checked in by a young lady who did not speak much English. Some people have claimed no or little English is spoken at the hotel. Wrong. I found many hotel workers spoke adequate English, including porters, restaurant staff and managers. Patience is needed. The receptionist offered me a toothbrush and shaving gear, both of which I accepted. A ported, who spoke good English, helped me to my room. The lifts are controlled by the room key and automatically select the correct floor when the key card is placed near to the reader. My room overlooked part of the airfield and I spent much time, particularly at night, watching the aircraft taxi, take off and land. The hotel supplies free ear plugs but I did not need them, even though I am a light sleeper. I could just hear the airplane engines but the noise was not at all intrusive. The sleep quality was excellent with no noise from adjacent rooms or from overhead. The room was smallish but very comfortable. There was coffee/tea making facilities, an easy chair, a large king size bed, plenty of storage space, and a safe. The bathroom contained a washbasin, WC and shower – no bath. Toiletries included shower gel and shampoo. Wifi worked well. I took a shower and, when trying to adjust the shower head, it all came tumbling to the floor, glancing my head and just missing my feet. The fixture holding the shower head had broken. I took photos and went down to reception to report the problem. The receptionist alerted a manager who spoke good English and was very apologetic. He was very concerned for my welfare and did I need medical attention. I assured him I did not. He wanted to move me to another room but I said I was there only one night and had already unpacked. He said he would get maintenance to make a repair. When making my reservation, I chose an option that gave me Executive Lounge access. The Lounge is on the 7th floor and is supposed to provide snacks and beverages in the evening. Note that it is closed at the moment and has been closed since Covid! It might be re-opened soon. It is surprising that it has not already re-opened. I saw no information when booking the hotel that the lounge was closed. However, no problem. The manager said that arrangements had been made for people such as me to have a selection of snacks and beverages in the hotel restaurant and guided me in there. I was shown a card containing various foods and I chose a Tsingtao beer for my beverage. A magnificent selection of foods soon appeared and this was followed later by chocolate cake. Everything was superb. The snacks included smoked salmon, fresh fruit and various hot and cold foods. I had a second beer. The staff were very good, attentive and spoke English. Amazingly, by the time I had returned to my room, the shower had been fixed. Incredibly quick attention. One would not get this level of maintenance in many hotels worldwide and this is one of the reasons I give this hotel 5 stars. I had a good sleep and went down for breakfast when it opened at 0600. There was a wide selection of good hot/cold foods, western and Chinese. I took the 0730 shuttle to the airport in a coach containing only 3 travellers. I was extremely satisfied with my stay at this hotel even though it was only for 1 night. Possible if I was there longer then I might find the room size a little constricting but it is perfectly good for my stay. The hotel staff were excellent.

- avsm (6/5): mixed bag - The hotel is above average as airport hotels go, except the following - although google maps shows 20 minutes walking distance from the terminal to the hotel, it is not reachable by foot and one either have to use taxi, car or hotel shuttle that runs on schedule - with up to 90 minutes gap between the trips. - The water pressure in the shower is pathetic. There was sign on the wall saying that to have hot water one had to turn water and run it for 3 minutes in winter. - It is now not possible to smoke indoors in China, so the hotel removed the smoking/non-smoking room categories. Because of that, some rooms, including the one I stayed it, smells of smoke.

- Ellen E (8/5): Perfect airport hotel - Great hotel to stay in if you need to be at Pudong Airport the following day for a flight! Reception was very nice and professional. The room itself was very comfortable with earplugs provided to block out the airport noise. The only complaint I have is that they had not prepared my room with the non-feather bedding I had requested in advance. When I phoned reception, they sent a housekeeper to change the bedding immediately.

The shuttle bus that is easier to figure out and take from hotel to airport vs airport to hotel. Drinks are over priced in restaurant but in house convince store is great. Breakfast buffet was great. Dinner was ok; recommend to order local menu options and not the American or other nationality foods.
