Pros: - comfortable beds and pillows - amenities in the room - amazing breakfast: eggs, bacon, pastries, cereals, toasts, fruits, yogourts, etc. - very kind , helpful and attentive staff, some were able to speak French - nice neighbourhood: very quiet street, 15 min walk from Colosseum, 5 min walk to Cavour metro, 12 min walk to Termini station - lots of shops and restaurants close to the hotel Cons: - can be a bit difficult to get in the shower if you have mobility issues, since you need to lift your leg high to get into the shower - no fixed showerhead, and to take a shower I had to be very careful not to leak water since the glass panel separing the shower from bathroom was not tightly sealed I would stay here again.

The breakfast buffet was excellent! We were disappointed that the rooftop bar was closed for seasonal clean-up as we were looking forward to a nice view of the city from there.

The hotel room was the size of a standard Best Western hotel you would find in the United States. The shower was small and the rain shower style shower head was pretty much useless and leaked out the top. There was no safe in the room. The location was somewhat conveniently located to the attractions. The metro and train stations were within 15 minutes' walk. There was a nice selection of food for breakfast (Keep in mind breakfast is not free, can be added to your reservation at time of booking or play by day). The hotel had free espresso and pastries in the lobby during the day.

Upon check out, they tried to charge us a service charge as well as city tax. This wasn’t stated in the booking conditions, nor it was stated upon check in. After questioning, it turns out the service charge is optional, however the staff implied it was mandatory on first instance. Dampened our experience as everything else was good.

- srk55 (8/5): Very nice affordable hotel - Very nice affordable hotel about a mile from the Colosseum and near the bus stop from the hop on hop off bus. Most Rooms have been refurbished and are quite comfortable and well maintained. The terrace rooms were being refurbished so we had a standard king bed room for 3 days. The breakfast was good but mostly sweets, with some cereal and eggs and toast available as well as your normal European breakfast favorites. Service was very friendly and good. You need to bring converters for the outlets for Americans but the front desk will lend you a couple for free. No real view because of location on a small street but that was expected because of the more reasonable price of the hotel. I would surely recommend to anyone going to Rome and not wanting to pay the high end hotel prices.

Fica perto da Termini, mas não o suficiente para ficar em uma zona ruim (normalmente em torno das estações não recomendo se hospedar). O quarto era limpo e a cama confortável. No check-out foram cobrados valores que não foram informados pela Booking e nem ela equipe no momento do check-in. Optei por pagar para evitar desgastes, mas não achei ético da parte do hotel, principalmente por não ser um valor baixo (cerca de 20% do valor do total da reserva).

- Venture29337316011 (10/5): Our base in Rome - We happily returned to the Rafael For five nights. We continue to really like the location, the staff, the rooms, and even the breakfast. My previous complaints about no conditioner, and no toilet paper were no longer valid. The hotel rooms and bathrooms have been upgraded. In the bathrooms we found fluffy towels, lots of light, and ample amenities. Hotel staff were even able to direct us on use of public transportation, including how to get to Tivoli using trains and buses. We will continue to use this hotel as our base in Rome.

Staff were excellent, polite and provided quick services. Now onto one of the locks to any man's heart - food... The breakfast buffet was great, coffees were available and a wide variety of foods. They typically had four hot foots, which rotated. Examples include chicken strips, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausages. Cereals, fruits, fruit salad, plums in syrup, peaches, yoghurts, pancakes, pastries, cakes which rotated. Examples include sponge cake with chocolate filling, orange cake, blueberry cake, carrot cake (these also rotated). It is close to several key destinations, however Rome is quite vast, so it's impossible to be close to All of them. I would HIGHLY recommend this hotel. Apologies for the long food talk, I hadn't seen a detailed review of it when booking myself.

- 614douglash (10/5): Lovely Lodging in the Heart of Rome - Our stay at the San Raffaello was simply divine. The location (an easy walk from the Roma Termini) was exactly what we needed and was within walk or train rides to virtually all parts of the city. There are plenty of fun bistros in the area as well. The highlight, by far, was the superior hospitality we received by both the front desk staff and the breakfast team. Speaking of breakfast ... don't skip the most important meal of the day. It'll be worth every Euro.

Hotel is quite tired and our room was small for a twin. The air conditioning didn’t seem to work and, even though it was February, it was quite stuffy at night.

The single room was small, but that's not unusual in Europe. The room fit my needs perfectly. At check-in the gentleman at the desk mentioned that when I check-out I will be able to include a percentage of the total to tip the staff and that it is optional. T wasn't sure I understand correctly. I have never heard of such a thing, and I've travelled quite a bit. Even in the US where people expect a tip for pouring a cup of coffee, I have never been asked to add a tip for the staff when checking out of a hotel. I spent 3 nights there, and based on my stay I have no complaints. When I checked out, the woman asked if I wanted to add an optional percentage to tip the staff. I said no. To be fair, she didn't blink. She finished checking me out, gave me my receipt and asked whether I wanted to store my bag for a bit before heading to the airport. I was not made to feel at all uncomfortable because I didn't add the tip. However, I felt strange about it. It bothers me enough that I am writing about it now. The tipping "option" leaves an awkward final impression. It's really a horrible policy and without it, I would recommend the hotel wholeheartedly. But as long as they continue with the police, I would only recommend the hotel if you are aware of it in advance and are ok with it.

- Natallia (10/5): Hotel oraz pracę i uprzejmość personelu oceniam wysoko. - Świetna lokalizacja obiektu do wyjścia wypadów i głównych atrakcji. W centrum, ale jednocześnie cicho i nie słychać hałasu w nocy. Możliwe, że przegapiłam informację , którą podawano przy zameldowaniu, o dodatkowych opłatach za pracę personelu. Trochę byłyśmy zaskoczone pod koniec wizyty. Wynosiła ona 7 Euro/ dobę za pokój. Dobrze by było, żeby była ona tak samo wyeksponowana na stronie hotelu, jak informacja o opłatach klimatycznych.

- denalidigs (9/5): Come for the people, stay for the breakfast. - The staff at Hotel Raffaello are over the moon wonderful. I have met nice hotel staff at other hotels, but the crew here is amazing. It starts with hotel manager Barbara. She has assembled a very kind and genuine group a employees. Salman and Bacar at the front desk are so warm and welcoming. Flavia in the breakfast room is sweet and kind. The rooms are fine, but what shines here are the people. If must say, my room did not have a bidet. My Raffaelllo room earlier in the month of January did, as did my accommodations in Florence and Uscio. I guess they are standard in much of Italy. And that is briiliant.

- astra7 (8/5): - 위치도 적당했고 직원도 친절했습니다. 조싞도 나름 괜찮았고 객실도 나쁘지 않았습니다. 여행와서 회사 계정으로 업무룰 봐야 하는 일이 발생했는데 호텔 와이파이의 보안문제로 인해 접근이 불가했습니다. 해외로밍한 데이터를 이용해서 해결했는데 이런 스스로 알아내는데 애를 억었습니다.

- Jorge Rigueiro Gacría (9/5): Cerca de SM Maggiore y de toda Roma - Muy buen desayuno! Camas cómodas y baños puestos a nuevo. El hotel se encuentra a 150 m de S M Maggiore y a pasos de todo. El personal es amabilísimo y me cambiaron de una habitación interna a una con aire y luz . Buen pre io para la ubicación que tiene en una calle super tranquila Hay habitaciones internas que dan a un paredón en un pozo de aire
