- Victor (9/5): It's not as good as it thinks it is but very nice - The location is ideal. It is apparently a famous hotel so there are many tourists inside and out taking photos and selfie. Hotel is quaint old style european hotel. Very luxurious. Breakfast is £37pp so we took room only. Nithing very bad to report. All ok. Minor points....We rearranged the room a little to suit our requirements fir the time we were there but the staff carefully reset it each day. When we arrived late at night there was no one on duty initially although someone came running up after a few minutes. The staff are if anything too helpful. All we wanted to do was go to sleep but we had to be told about all the facilities and the free museum tour on several occasions. The bellboy would not shut up although I gave him a good hip to get rid of him so maybe that was his plan!

First and foremost, I want to thank the entire Fairmont Gold Lounge team for their warm welcome and professional, personalized service. Kevin, in particular, meticulously attended to every little request we had from the moment we arrived, striving to fulfill them all. Chef Owen of the Lounge also deserves special thanks; he diligently prepared a variety of delicious dishes throughout the week, perfectly satisfying our cravings for Shanghai cuisine, and he would proactively ask what we wanted to eat, ensuring it appeared on the menu the following day. Nina at the lounge, and the two gentlemen (I apologize for not noting their names), provided impeccable service every day. Thank you so much! Besides these, I also want to express my special gratitude to the housekeeping department, especially Anna, whose housekeeping was impeccable, even for our discerning palates. Carry also deserves special thanks for her attentiveness, carefully inquiring about the details of the cleaning, ensuring our comfort and enjoyment. Furthermore, the communication within the entire housekeeping team was simply superb. For example, I only mentioned the size of my bathrobe to Anna once, and to my surprise, the team didn't make a mistake even during the two days she was off duty. Additionally, I'd like to thank Leah from the Jasmine Lounge; her attitude and professionalism during breakfast service were truly commendable. Of course, there were many others whose names I didn't remember, such as the concierge, lobby staff, and parking attendants. It's safe to say that the service at the Peace Hotel is first-class, making guests feel warm, safe, and happy. I will definitely stay at the Peace Hotel again next time I'm in Shanghai.

Музей отличный! Брали номер с видом на город. Поскольку здания на набережной расположены близко друг другу, получается вид на окна соседнего дома, поэтому , если не планируете сидеть в номере, берите вид во двор, так получится еще и с*экономить. Экскурсия по отелю входила в стоимость проживания, жаль, что за выход на крышу пришлось доплачивать отдельно :( Номера с видом на город- шумные ночью. Матрас немного продавлен. В номере жила моль.

A wonderful bilingual tour guide was very knowledgeable and helped show us parts of the hotel and shared history that can't be seen otherwise. The hotel is amazing, and we especially enjoyed the historic museum tour—it was fascinating and absolutely worth joining. It’s a wonderful experience for families. It gave my child a great opportunity to learn about the history of the Peace Hotel and Shanghai in an engaging way. I would highly recommend staying here for a family trip!
- Trek54250537400 (10/5): Beautiful Place to Stay - The architecture is very beautiful and there is a lot of intricate history here, the room i was staying in was also very beautiful and the staff were extremely kind. We also had a museum tour and it was so amazing to see all the rooms and the history in this place. The atmosphere is also so nice with the history of this building really showing and the art really brought that out. The amenities were also very nice with them bringing some fruits and I loved seeing the peace bird in the lobby and the plaster sculptures.

Great restaurant recommendations and attention to detail by Melody and Max. My kids were so excited to see Max every morning. Tao was our housekeeping staff and she was so sweet to the kids and great attention to detail.

- Pei (8/5): The one to pick for Shanghai sightseeing - This is the so-called number 1 hotel in China from the historical perspective so we decided to stay there when visiting Shanghai for F1 Grand Prix. It goes without saying the location is at the hub of Shanghai, right next to 外灘 and 南京路. The subway station is also 2 blocks away within walking distance. The servants and concierge staff are top-notched, very experienced, friendly, and enthusiastic in helping. The dinner at 龍鳳廳 is a must-have if you're into Shanghainese cuisine. There is a museum inside the hotel demonstrating the history of this hotel that accommodated many presidents and leaders from all over the world since the 1920s. The interior has wear-and-tear here and there, though they manage to keep it pretty clean. The jazz band (recommended by the hotel) is overrated (a a bit overpriced for their performance).

There’s lots of rich history to be discovered and they’ve done a wonderful job preserving everything. 10/10 recommend!

If you can join the Hotel tour which was nicely done by Robin. It is a little bit a maze on the individual floors, so a map would really be helpful.

- jimnG9430RE (6/5): Peace on the bund - The great thing about staying at the Fairmont Peace Hotel is that you never have to worry about finding someone to help with your luggage. There’s always at least one person stationed at every entrance, handling the stream of tourists coming by for photos. The front desk staff were efficient and friendly, though I couldn’t help but feel a bit put out when they asked if I wanted to pay extra to upgrade from the base room I’d booked — the one with no view. I didn’t bother asking why they couldn’t just offer a complimentary upgrade. If the Peninsula shows signs of age, the rooms at the Peace Hotel are practically on the verge of falling apart. Renovated and reopened the same year as the Peninsula, the Peace Hotel sees a much higher volume of guests. The entry-level room I stayed in wasn’t much to write home about. The decor and overall worn-out feel reminded me of the InterContinental Shanghai Ruijin, where I used to stay during business trips. Despite being advertised as 49 square meters, the room felt significantly smaller than the 55-square-meter room at the Peninsula. The bathroom was disproportionately large, eating into the living space way too much. The base room faces an inner courtyard, so there’s basically no view — I didn’t even bother opening the curtains for days. The air conditioning didn’t seem to be working properly either; even at the lowest setting, the room stayed uncomfortably warm.

- T7210GOchrisw (10/5): I would have given 6 stars to this precious experience. - The Peace Hotel, not to mention its prime location at the heart of The Bund of Shanghai, is itself a historic attraction having come across a number global celebrities (e.g. Charlie Chaplin) since 1929. Before checking in we joined a extensive guided tour of its own museum, the rooftop, and the old elevators. We lived in the Fairmont King Bed room (entry-level room type) facing Nanjing East Road, the iconic pedestrianized shopping street, and with a little bit of Huangpu River view as well. The windows are openable and let fresh air in, and blocks the noise very well when closed. The layout is distinctive and the décor is very classy. There is a walk-in closet which allows us to stow away stuff and enjoy the rest of the room in all its glory. The washroom is very big and comes with two large vanities, a big bathtub too, and spacious toilet and shower rooms - and a TV at the bathtub! The room is cleaned twice daily to a very professional level. The light bulbs are mostly Philips CFLs and Philips Master LEDs, which give warm and cozy light with excellent color rendering. The minibar has a coffee machine too. The buffet is very delicious - to me in particular, the halibut, the honeycomb, and the matcha & red bean waffles. Closer to the breakfast closing time the manager even confirmed with all the remaining customers if they're happy to have buffet service ended. We checked out over an hour late, but nobody chased us up! Overall, it's very pricey, but definitely worth it for such a once-in-a-life experience.
