Guest Reviews
- im2tlkativ (10/5): The cabins are clean and spacious! - I went on a weeklong vacation with my daughter and 2 granddaughters and we booked a cabin at this location. I was so much bigger than we expected and was clean and quiet! The service and staff were awesome and extremely helpful. The only negative is we rented a golf cart to get around the resort for just the evening when we got there since we were going to a park the next day and it was $75. The big issue is the plastic windshields are so scared and scratched that we couldn't see much in the daylight but wow, when we tried to use it at night we couldn't see a thing outside of the windshield. Not worth the money but the cabin was a 10 out of 10 for sure!
- jessicalG9219RU (10/5): A five ear experience - Hands down my new favorite Disney World Hotel! I have never had a bad experience on any dish trip and once again the camp ground didn’t disappoint. This was just a quick trip and if we were staying
Onger than a long weekend I definitely would have rented a golf cart. The cabin was exactly what my family of five needed. It was nice to be able to have a place to cook and eat, so we could really enjoy our vacation. I think our favorite morning experience was taking the boat to magic kingdom. I would definitely stay here again and have told all of our other Disney friends how amazing it is.
- BrownWaterTherapy (10/5): Awesome place - This a great stop. No matter the time of year.
- rcwt (6/5): Disappointed - The cabins are clean but very small. The bedroom with a queen bed is almost against the wall. The mattress was so,lumpy we had to request and received a new mattress. The problem was they gave us the new mattress and left clean sheets for us to make the bed. You only get housekeeping every 4 days the rest of the time they provide you with a vacuum and broom for you to clean. At $750 a night I expect better service. The internet is almost non existent. The shower has no water pressure. We had a small cement parking area for the car and golf cart and due to rain mud all around it. Had to plug in the cart at night and couldn’t see the outlet because there was no lightning on the end of the cabin. Kitchen was nice and fully equipped. The cabin was not what I expected for the money
- danielasP2314MZ (6/5): Fort wilderness cabins - If a serene morning with a cup of coffee on the porch is what you are looking for, you will be out of luck at this place. The workers start maintance, EVERY MORNING!!, at 8 am!!! Leaf blowers on the porches, electric saw cutting trees..... you name it! Peace comes at night when they go home. I had to stop them from blowing on my porch at 8:15 am despite my sign door hanging. I sincerely don't know what's worse, this or staying at the contemporary when chef mickey employees sing every 30 +- minutes echoing through the walls in the bedrooms starting at , what feels like, sunrise with the roosters.
Disney GET BETTER!!!
- vanessacH5354WU (10/5): So much fun! - My family vacations in Disney World multiple times a year. We have been DVC for years so staying at the campground was not really an option for us. When DVC opened the Cabins, we jumped at the opportunity to stay at the Fort Wilderness Resort as it is one of the only resorts we have not stayed at. I stayed in the cabin for 5 nights with my husband, two daughters (17 & 15) and a best friend (17yr male). We loved this location. My girls loved the bunk beds and the sleeping bag that was on them. They had their own little coves to decompress after long days in the parks. The room was plenty big for the 4 of us to unpack and move around. The best friend stayed on the murphy bed in the living area, and he said it was very comfortable. The sink outside the bathroom was a plus as there was always someone showering and this helped us with our morning and nighttime routines. The location was nice and easy to get around since we rented a 6-person golf cart and we had a vehicle. The only negative I had was the dinner plates are so heavy. I would love to stay here again!
- Papaw25 (10/5): Cabins with style! - The new refreshed cabins are just the ticket! Plenty of room with double bathroom sinks. One inside and one in the hall combined with a very large shower are just what was needed to get ready in record time. Plenty of sleeping space for your group but be aware the bunks at not really adult friendly. The murphy bed is a nice addition but makes the sofa sit low and really firm. The kitchen has everything you need stove, dishwasher, refrigerator and coffeemaker. Bed was comfortable and house keeping prompt.
Now the downside. Not much space to park your vehicle should you arrive by car. The drainage at our site was not very good. Trying to walk through 4" of standing water to get to the deck was a challenge. Ask for a inside the loop cabin the drainage looked much better! Took several days to get the resort mugs as Disney screwed this up at check in. All in I would stay there again!
- robertjL8830FT (10/5): Fort Wilderness Cabins: A Peaceful, Shaded Slice of Disney Magic - We recently stayed in the cabins at Fort Wilderness and absolutely loved the experience. If you’re looking for a relaxing, nature-filled break from the parks—but still want all the Disney perks—this is it.
The cabins themselves are great. Ours was in loop 2500, and I’d highly recommend it. Newly renovated, very clean, and surprisingly roomy. Our cabin (2517) was a real gem—well-shaded, super private, and backed up to a peaceful little creek with no cabins behind us. It felt like our own quiet retreat in the woods.
Getting Around
Pro tip: Rent a golf cart. Fort Wilderness is massive, and the cart makes getting around not just easier but way more fun. While internal buses exist, a cart gives you the freedom to explore on your own time. You’ll especially appreciate it when heading to the pools, Settlement, or boat dock.
Groceries & Dining
We used Walmart+ for grocery delivery, and it worked out perfectly. Bell Services handled everything, and it saved us a bundle—easily 50% or more versus buying food and drinks at Disney prices.
Dining at Fort Wilderness was also better than expected. The Settlement and had some solid food options, including family-size meals like fried chicken, BBQ, and hearty sides you can take back to the cabin. Great for a relaxed night in without cooking.
Recreation & Activities
Pools: Plenty of options. Each loop has its own smaller pool nearby, which is great for quick dips. The larger main pool at the Meadow is kid-friendly with more energy and activity, including a waterslide.
Horseback riding: A big hit—laid-back, well-run, and perfect for both new and experienced riders.
Chip & Dale Campfire Sing-Along: A great evening experience. Our daughters loved meeting Chip and Dale, and the vibe is classic Disney charm with a rustic twist.
Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue: Still one of the best dinner shows on property. Great food, great fun, and something every Disney fan should experience at least once. It's not cheap, but a must do if you staying at the camp grounds.
Getting to the Parks
Fort Wilderness does offer boat service to Magic Kingdom, which is scenic and peaceful. Just one heads-up: if you park your golf cart at the boat dock and later park hop to another park, you’ll have to take the bus back from the front of the campground to retrieve your cart. Not a deal-breaker, but worth planning around.
A Few Minor Drawbacks
Transportation outside Fort Wilderness can be a little sluggish. Fewer buses seem to serve this resort, and some routes are shared with Wilderness Lodge, making trips to certain parks longer.
Underage golf cart drivers. Disney rules say drivers must be 18+, but enforcement is spotty. We saw kids behind the wheel. It didn’t impact us directly, but it’s something to be aware of.
Bottom line: Fort Wilderness is ideal for anyone looking to unwind and still stay close to the magic. It’s a true “Disney glamping” experience—relaxed, scenic, and full of charm, with all the comforts of home and just enough pixie dust.
- JFel (10/5): Calm Surroundings, Golf Cart Fun, and Nice Cabins! - If your looking for a hotel - Fort Wilderness is not for you. If you're looking for a nice escape from the parks, a beautiful wooded area, horses, fun activities, the joy of driving a golf cart, and a nicely appointed cabin- you are at the right place. I love riding around in the golf cart! People are always friendly here and we love Hoop Dee Doo Revue and riding the boats to MK, Wilderness Lodge, and Fort Wilderness. A good thing to know is that many people staying here have been coming for years - they can help you with anything Disney related. : )
- Disneyfan200000 (10/5): Like Them a Lot - Really nice cabins. We would stay there again. Only downside is their out of the way location from the parks. There are no washers or dryers in the cabins, but are at the pool which is a short walk. Nice and quiet with no crowds after being at the parks.
- 729sherrih (10/5): True Disney Camping - We have been staying in the cabins at Fort Wilderness annually for years. When we heard they were replacing the old ones with new more modern cabins we were a little disappointed until we stayed there last month. The new cabins seem more spacious and are brighter. The murphy bed in the living room is much nicer that the old pull out couches in the old cabins. The full kitchen is a big plus. We don't like to eat park food for every meal, every day. I don't mind cooking breakfast and dinner (most nights) in the cabin plus it's a good break from the parks and much less expensive. We love the private deck and grill and just the idea that we can walk outside get in our golf cart and enjoy nature. We see wild turkeys, dear and other wildlife. Transportation to the parks is very convenient. The campground amenities are plentiful, playgrounds, pools, campfire, night time outdoor movies just to name a few. This year my granddaughter dropped a figure from one of her playsets behind the bunkbed. Of course they are attached to the wall so we could not move it to retrieve the piece. I called maintenance and asked if they could. We were at the park when they arrived and by the time we got back the piece was on the dresser and the bed looked untouched. That's Disney magic, or at least that's what the 7yo thought.
- I1130YLmaryannes (8/5): A magical Christmas Stay in the brand new cabins. - We just got back from 6 nights in 2842. We stayed on DVC points in the brand new cabins. We have been going to the Fort since the 80s and these cabins are a wonderful new addition that really celebrates the history of the fort. The bunkbeds are fantastic. There are many USB ports for all your devices. We loved the deck and the full kitchen had everything we needed. The bathroom and split vanity was perfect for our family with two teens. We loved the decor. All the nods to the FW of old was so creative. This extends even to the laundry room which was decorated with banners saluting River Country. We did rent the golf cart and it's a blast to scoot around but we did use the buses a few times and they were very prompt. Even though the Fort feels remote the bus to AK , Springs and Epcot was just about 12-13 min. We could easily stay here for an entire week and not go to any theme parks. There is pickle ball, shuffleboard, bike rentals, archery, crafts, poolside games etc. Note you have to bring your own towels to the pool. We called for extra towels a couple of times and they were delivered in about 10 min. Housekeeping is always on the go in their golf carts.
- NeilR772 (2/5): Gross - Disney annual pass holder for a few years and consistently stay at different Disney resorts with the family including 3 young kids.
This time we stayed in cabin 2744. Would not recommend. Dirty, gross, uncomfortable knowing how dirty the cabin was. Gnarly nail clippings & skin calluses tangled with excessive hair and dust. My anxiety was high knowing we had 3 expensive nights there. Cabin wasn’t cleaned once. For the amount of money they charge (and bring in) it makes my blood boil. Unacceptable
- R8259FQstephenm (10/5): Fort Wilderness perfection - Simply amazing resort! The new cabins are gorgeous and comfortable. The vibe in this resort at Christmas cannot be beat - decorations everywhere, everyone is super friendly, and lots to do! Get a golf cart to tour the resort, definitely worth it. For a chill, relaxed Disney visit, FW can’t be beat!
- Samminten (4/5): Not Worth It - We chose to stay at the cabins because our parents were coming down in their trailer and we liked the idea of being on the same property.
We rented a golf cart which is a must for the property. Everything is super spread out and they make it way more convenient to get around - this was the best part of staying at this property.
For the astronomical price of a cabin it is definitely not worth it. I would take your money and put it towards literally anywhere else and take your savings to the parks.
-The cabin was super dirty and run down. The couch had stains and there was dust on everything. We also rotated the couch to make it easier to watch TV and when we moved it there was a bunch of garbage underneath from previous guests. Also if someone is sleeping on the pull out request extra pillows to sleep on or that thing will kill your back.
-If you have any allergies to pets make sure you stock up on Benadryl. My sister is allergic to cats and long haired dogs. Spending excessive time in the cabin her eyes would water and swell. She woke up feeling terrible everyday and once we were out of the cabin for 30 minutes she was better
-Construction for the refresh is loud and smells. I get there isn’t much that can be done about that but be aware. We were in a loop beside one being rebuilt and on our rest days they were banging and dropping equipment at 8am. Also pretty much all you can smell is diesel. In addition to all of the cabins re-done they are re-doing the waterslide so it is closed.
- There is nothing Mickey or really Disney themed in the cabins or on the property so I wouldn’t expect a “disney vibe” if you are staying here
-Finally the staff all seem pretty miserable. We had to call multiple times for towels because they didn’t leave any (or take any dirty ones) on the house keeping days. We usually had to call two or three times before they brought them. Every time you talked to anyone they were super short and we felt like we were inconveniencing them by being there.
At the end of the day I know people have had good experiences here but for us it was wildly bad. If you aren’t die hard campers with previous experience at this resort my recommendation (for what it is worth) is stay anywhere else and don’t let it become the dark spot on your vacation like it did with us.
- Celia53 (10/5): New Cabin but Same Relaxing, Beautiful Setting - We have stayed at Fort Wilderness cabins many times through the past years with our children and have many fond memories. The newly constructed cabins are beautiful and functional. The floor to ceiling windows brighten up the space and bring the natural beauty of the outside in. The modern kitchen has all you need to cook a full dinner, and the BBQ grill outside was used frequently. The deck has new porch furniture-- a picnic table and 2 deck chairs if you choose to eat outside. There are 2 big screen TVs (one in living space and one in the bedroom). The bathroom is modern and gorgeous with a separate sink area. The bedroom has a very comfortable queen bed and a set of bunk beds which did accommodate my adult son.
Many guests brought their dogs with them, and we never heard a bark! The cabin was immaculately clean when we arrived, and all of our needs were promptly met by housekeeping.
The cabins are new and beautiful, but the same comfort and relaxing vibe of the old Fort Wilderness still exists. The hectic pace of the parks is not evident here at all.
I hope you stay there and form new memories of your own.
- livbear02 (10/5): Perfection! - This place absolutely 100% exceeded our expectations. Grounds are gorgeous and staff was very pleasant. The nightly peace and quiet was just what is needed after the long day at the parks. I am sad that the older ones are being replaced, but I look forward to booking again. So cozy. My dog was so very happy in the cabin and it was ideal for him.
- W6595LLcarolinec (10/5): Southern national park with a Disney twist - Looking to have a relaxing time at Walt Disney World then Disneys Fort Wilderness Cabins are for you. Cabins have kitchens and living room fully equipped with everything to enjoy a leisurely breakfast. Want to experience southern camping with a Disney twist then this is the place for you. Horseback riding, wooded trails, purpose, Hoop dee do revue. So many fun activities for the whole family.
- S230XBbettym (4/5): Dated and dirty - I've been coming to WDW since 2000, my husband since he was a baby. Our family usually goes about once a year but it's been getting harder to do so as we have 2 dogs. We decided the cabins would be a great idea so we can have them with us. Later, when we opted to leave our furry babies with family instead, we still kept our reservation as we were curious about the "'Rough' it in comfort," claims. It is Disney so it should be great, right?! Well, I traveled from Europe and was jet-lagged the first day. I only checked in to drop off groceries as my children were waiting at MK. I didn't think to check for cleanliness, just did the usual check of the beds and left (it is Disney, so it should be super clean is what I thought). Got back extra tired at midnight and went to shower. Found 2 used toothbrushes in shower along with a thick film of soap in shelving. Asked my husband for dish soap and sponge and scrubbed and showered. Too tired, I went to bed. Next day, got up early and left to parks. Again, paid little attention to cabin. Got back at 10pm this time. Look around, the filth was horrible. Dirty windows, stained dirty nook in kitchen, cobwebs, dust everywhere (behind furniture, ceilings, baseboards, moldings), mold all over bathroom ceiling, dirty floors, and TO TOP IT ALL, we grabbed what was labeled as clean linen with a seal for sofa bed to discover a gritty blanket with a BLACK sheet. I called the front desk and told them about bedding and everything else. Was told they will make a report. I said I want lodging up to DISNEY STANDARDS and that this wasn't it. By then it was 11pm and my son fell asleep. I asked for manager to come see me first thing in the morning. Manager comes and I said to please just come in and look around, He took pictures and I showed him mine. He asked that I send him the pictures I took. Didn't even have to argue, he could see exactly how bad the cabin was. He offered to put us in another cabin but given what I could see here, why would I switch cabins? It's obvious what their standard of cleanliness is so I asked to move resorts. The manager was very understanding and without me even asking, he refunded one night's stay. It really was that bad. My advice, if you're going to stay here, take a GOOD look around with lights on and open windows so you can gauge whether you are comfortable. Between being jet-lagged and entire stays at parks, also trusting Disney cleanliness standards, I stayed 2 nights too long. My second resort was a gem, and super clean. Exactly how Disney is supposed to be.
- alexeO6079QG (8/5): Warm and Cozy - The cabin is cozy but modern. Everyone appreciated the screened patio, especially its hot tub. You can see the Electrical Water Pageant every night from the patio. The kid's Murphy bed is decorated with Chip & Dale. The bed does double as shelving, a feature my daughter frequently remembered after hitting her head. The jetted tub is wonderful, but the soaps are in the shower.
The staff is as friendly and helpful as any other hotel/resort. Housekeeping impressed us by asking about specific needs.
The cabins are within walking distance of the quieter pool and the outdoor restaurant. Another minute or two and you are at the bigger pool, splash pad, and quick service restaurant.
Now that Walt Disney World seems to be adopting more bland atmospheres, the cabins are a good example of leaning into a theme.
- dug30338 (2/5): DO NOT BOOK THE OLD CABINS!! - DO NOT BOOK THE OLD CABINS. Wait until Sept 27th (earlier if you are DVC) to book the new ones. Disney has given up all upkeep of the old cabins as they build the new ones and acknowledged as much at our most recent stay. When we arrived, some of the molding on the bedroom door was missing and 4-5 nails were just sticking out of the wall waiting for someone to rip their clothes (or skin) off by just walking by. The fridge was a disaster: dented, smelled inside and the gasket was falling off. The bathroom and BR doors would stick and hinges were noisy. The couch was 20+ years old and in horrible condition. I’ve stayed at roach motels that were nicer and for $400+ per night this was so far from our expectations that we checked out three days early and cut our vacation short. When I complained the manager said she hears this a lot and took off $100 from our bill (less than 25% of one night is an insult). We used to love to stay at Fort Wilderness and may never again but if we do it will ONLY be in the new cabins.
- chriswK1217HB (10/5): Relaxing at WDW, really it can happen! At the cabins, chilling is where it starts and ends. Great food abounds. - What a perfect spot to enjoy and truly relax. We strongly recommend: bring your faithful companion and rent a golf cart too. Our pooch is older and loved chilling in the cabin. Dogs can be left up to seven hours alone which forces a great nap on park days. The golf cart helps you get everywhere fast within the resort. Sport and bike rentals are made easy. Food is delicious. Service - of course - amazing!!! Beds were super comfy, all the amenities you need in the cabin and more.. just call them, they’ll bring it to you. Riding the boat around the lagoon to the Magic Kingdom and the other resorts was a breeze. Best resort yet in our multiple visits to WDW.
- CSorice (2/5): Danger Bring Bug Spray - I sat at the picnic table on the deck for 20 minutes 5/4/23 and got ravaged. Thought just mosquitos. Not so, now on meds for 10 days. Either Ants or Spiders not sure. Itchy, red and hot. Bite blisters and cellulitis appeared on 5/6/24. Notified Disney on 5/6/24 of issue. 5/7/24 received email about insect maintenance- not impressed. On 5/7/24 sent update on medical and pictures-crickets. Sent email to corporate today 5/9/24. Not renewing our passes and no longer staying at Fort Wilderness. Stayed there since 1986 amongst many other of their resorts.
- Cindy5192014 (10/5): A FUN family vacation within a DISNEY vacation! - Best family vacation EVER!!
#1 You can't beat Disney!
#2 three families of 2,4 and 4 people and we each had our own cabin (that sleeps 6) and not just a room.
#3 We had time together (or separate) w coffee each morning and wine/ beer each night w parks in between
#4 full kitchen great for breakfast before leaving
#5 full size fridge for all our refreshing beverages and ingredients for sandwiches for the park
#6 Grassy areas around for the kids to play putside... football / catch
#7 Two large pools!
8 pleasant boat ride to MK or Polynesian village
#8 sand beach w lounge chairs and tether ball... great spot to watch the fireworks at MK each night
#9 hiking trails! Horses! Archery other things to do besides the parks
#10 golf carts to rent pricey but FUN and so convenient
..
- Quality1016 (10/5): Quiet Place - Sooo peaceful and quiet after a day at the parks. The grill on the deck was my favorite. Bus transportation to and from the parks is the best because it is a smaller resort so the wait is less. Rent the golf cart because this place is BIG. Do not skip the boat to Magic Kingdom.
- ph0ugh1 (10/5): So idyllic! Perfect for grandparents & grandchildren! - Where do I start? The cabins are fabulous. All that gorgeous wood interior. So cozy! Kids loved the bunks and all the quaint details on the light fixtures and furniture. Never turned on TV. Super comfortable. Loved the deck. Great golf cart parking/charging. Super quiet at night. Saw a buck near our cabin. Rabbits too. Convenient laundry, pool, snacks. Boat to MK wonderful. Good food choices. Very special place! Shame they're changing it so much. Glad we got to experience it.
- emma_travel_24 (10/5): Worth It (despite the frogs)! - I have always wanted to stay at Fort Wilderness and finally did! I loved every minute of the stay. I do recommend you rent a golf cart, as it makes traveling around the resort much more manageable (it is worth the added expense!). We brought our little dog and he truly loved all the space (and other dogs!).
The food is great with lots of options, the activities are fun and worth the extra fee, and the beach is a relaxing place to watch the fireworks.
We did have one odd experience: the first two nights of our stay, a couple little frogs kept congregating around the door and some got in our cabin. They were really cute and not too hard to get out, but definitely something to watch out for. We would open the door slowly and shine a light around it to see if any frogs were hanging about. Cast Members theorized that because our cabin had been empty before we checked in, the frogs weren't scared away. Despite this small inconvenience, we have already booked another stay at Fort Wilderness!
- M1083YVdianad (10/5): Be sure and get a Golf Cart! - Love, Love, LOVE staying in the cabins in Ft Wilderness. Christmastime has been my special time to go. I miss the restaurants for breakfast and lunch and dinner - the new place is just alright - not something I'd recommend. I recommend cooking in the cabin!
I'll miss them when they redo with the new vacation club member cabins.
- Nicole (10/5): - what an amazing time we had as a family. there is so much to do there and what a great way to start our Christmas break. it will for sure be a new family tradition.
- Alvin (10/5): - Great activities
- sylvia (10/5): - Great cabin
- Larry (10/5): - What an awesome place to stay I will definitely be coming back
- Anne (10/5): - Loved the cabins. Easy to get around the campground.
- DEVON (10/5): - Our check in was delayed 2 hours which was inconvenient, however the staff was professional and our cabin was very clean. They also sent a staff member over to check and make sure we had everything. Great customer service, would book there again.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - You can protect your valuables from staggered housekeeping days that you're aware of but not from random cabin check ins which are conducted here. Having packed a ton for this trip it unfortunately took us until we returned home and fully unpacked 5 days later to accept that my high-end Sony headphones were taken from our Cabin, the last place I saw them and same day we saw a staff vehicle parked in our lot that was there for the cabin check in. According to Sophia of Disney Resorts Claims, 5 whole days from check out was a very long time to claim a loss and she was well programmed to blame me at all costs to save a couple hundred dollars despite the $1300 it ran us to stay here for a couple nights and as I quote from her, "Disney Resorts accepts NO responsibility for theft by staff". Also the floors were in need of a good mopping based on the how our feet looked and the rest of the place in need of a good cobweb dusting. Disney must be cutting costs in housekeeping and saving money on background checks based on this experience. EGREGIOUS for a higher tier Disney Resort. Disney resorts will get zero dollars from us going forward and they won't feel it.
- Mary (10/5): - Loved the cabins… early check in..pool was nice and had activities for the kids
- Christian (10/5): - Great as always
- susan (8/5): - My family and I absolutely loved it here. We have stayed at many resorts but this is one that we will definitely go back to. Very easy check in, easy parking, cabins were very clean and eco friendly and very spacious for 8 people, 3 children and 5 adults. We all slept comfortably and there was so much to do on the grounds, we really didn’t need to leave to stay entertained.
- Jose (10/5): - Wonderful place
- Steven (10/5): - Fort Wilderness is a HUGE camp ground and offers many wonderful “camping” experiences but at the same time because it’s such a geographically large campground, it’s very very difficult to get around to the amenities inside the campground.
If you stay at fort wilderness, RENT A GOLF CART!
- Edward (10/5): - We had a great time
- Ivette (10/5): - Excelent for kids, envoy a lot !! Important to rent a golf car is nice to transport-
- David (10/5): Great time - We had a great time exploring at the Cabins of Fort Wilderness. Awesome pool and amazing other families staying there. I do wish the beds weren't all in 1 room....the toilet paper was a bit rough too, so i recommend bringing your own. Everything else was great.
- Maribel (8/5): - We didnt know we had to reserve a golf cart andcthey were sold put. They should put aside a cwrtain amount of rental aside for people who are checking in and may havr not known about golf cart reservations and without a golf cart its alot of walking and waiting on buses, i will mot go back without a golf cart
- Yolaine (4/5): - We have been to ft. wilderness many other times. things have gone down hill. cabin had spiderwebs. sofa bed had rips and was dirty. There was nothing to clean with. No vacuum or broom. When i accidently broke a glass jar (my own) i had nothing to clean the shattered glass with. After i called someone just brought a small old broom and left it. No concern about kids in room that could get cut. Worse part was the air condition vent in the room made a constant click type noise throughout. Very hard to sleep w that noise. This is the first time we have been disappointed w Disney. Their food was terrible, service slow and staff looked miserable. The magic is gone.
- Shannon (10/5): - Very clean cabins.. pool area was fun, the kids loved the ranch with the horses and loved seeing the wild deer roaming around! Will definitely be back for another visit!
- Anita (10/5): - Great time.
App did not include activities at campgrounds.
- Tammy (10/5): - Disney's properties are always up to par however the pricing of products and service are very overpriced
- Nancy (8/5): -
- Julie (10/5): - As expensive as it is, the Cabins at Fort Wilderness are by far the best value in our experience. The separate living area has a very comfortable pull-put sofa, so we fit Grandma out there and then my family of four slept in the bedroom. It’s so nice to have a kitchenette and a table to sit around for breakfast. It’s a relaxing place to return to at lunchtime before heading back to the parks. Because it’s a standalone unit, you don’t have to worry about noisy neighbors either and you get a deck with a picnic table. This was our third stay at the cabins and we highly recommend them!
- Kimberly (10/5): - Staying in the cabins was such a fun experience!! The kids loved the Bunkbeds and the staff was really friendly. Cabins have everything you’ll need and the beds are very comfortable.
- Linda (10/5): - Property is beautiful and cabins were very comfortable.
- Ashley (10/5): A special place - Fort Wilderness is always a special place but Fort Wilderness for New Years was a real treat. Disney does it right. Excellent activities and overall fun time. The cabins are a bit dated but the charm of the place makes up for it. Grilling and hanging with your family in Disney’s “nature.”
- Susan (10/5): - This place was great!!! Lots to do on the property. Cabin was jut what we needed.
- Myah (8/5): - It was so nice to come back to our own little cabin in the woods after long days at the parks. Not sharing any walls with neighbors keeps it really quiet, which was great for sleeping. Some of the back windows in particular looked like they had not been cleaned, and it definitely had a musty smell, so you have to be okay with cabin-life, but otherwise it is amazing.
- Pamela (10/5): Fun times - It was great, blessed with good weather, everyone was so friendly
- Valia (10/5): Best ever - Fort Wilderness is one of my favorite places to go. I strongly recommend these cabins for family vacations.
- jeanne (10/5): Amazing visit - We loved everything about it. Being from the city, this was a mini vacation within a vacation for us. Saw some fun wildlife - turkeys, deer, lizards, and frogs, and enjoyed the feeling of being nestled into the woods. If you can afford it, rent a golf cart! The bus system is quick and efficient (we used it on our final day after we had to return the golf cart), but exploring the property by golf cart is a fun treat. We did this several times a day and had a blast, my son said it was his favorite part of the trip. We used Instacart to have food delivered to the cabin and it was stocked with enough cookware to be able to cook a few decent meals. We ordered a pizza from P & J's Southern takeout on our final day and were pleasantly surprised by how good it was. The cabin was great, comfortable, clean, in great condition. I think the cabins sleep 6 people, we were three and it felt like the perfect size. My only wish was for more comfortable seating outside on the deck to enjoy my morning coffee. Overall, LOVED everything about it and hope to be able to return one day.
- Gloria (10/5): - We loved the camping vibe the cabin was nice but the safe and dishwasher were broken
- Joanne (10/5): - Everything was absolutely amazing and dreamy!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Beautiful property
- Robert (10/5): Manager of course - From the moment we walked in to get our cabin number ( Jane ) was great with checking in. Also made us fill welcome again.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Large property, lot of trees, peaceful, resort that you can do things for a full day
Not great attention to customer service as even when I informed them that my room phone was not working- no one fixed it.
Poolside food taste, quality and selection barely adequate
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Rent a golf cart to get around-makes things much easier. Cabins are a bit dirty and there are bugs. But I guess that’s cabin life.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Super cool place, extremely clean and easy to navigate. Service was wonderful.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - sparse, dirty surroundings, poor space inside cabin
- William (8/5): Oopss to Wowza - Huge mistake by the resort in the beginning. they didn't clean the cabin that was for us and the people that had stayed in it before were pigs. But the resort bounced back quick and got us a new cabin. The cabin environment was amazing. Was a great stay for 5 people in the room. A lot of fun. The transportation set up by Disney is fantastic.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - My check in was at 3 and they make me wait more than 2 hours in my car because the room was not ready. Very bad service. I asked a few times all they were saying that I need it to wait
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Stayed in Cabins. They were well maintained but between construction and COVID-19 restrictions, available activities greatly reduced, especially dining.
- Jacob (10/5): - Overall was awesome. Cabin was secluded which was nice, and everything was very clean. Only downside was not knowing about the golf car rental. Then coming back late one night and asked to pay $70 to have the golf cart from 11pm to 11am.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - We loved our stay at the cabins. Clean and plenty of room. Enjoyed the on-site activities.
- Jennifer (10/5): - Great experience! Would do this again.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Expected more out of Disney resorts but Disney always disappoints me! If you call the hotel to make reservations for activities the hold is over an hour. The cabins were okay, very dusty with dust that collected in hidden corners and nobody bothered to clean it. My 7 year old boy kept sneezing throughout and his eyes got so swollen. Never going back there again.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Highly recommended, family friendly, will be back!!!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Loved it . You don’t feel you are at Disney. It feel like your are in the mountains.
- Brittany (10/5): - Wonderful stay! Highly recommend.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Pretty time consuming waiting for buses very stingy with linens wouldnt give us extra which could be tough with 4 kids. Dishwasher didn't work and lots of activities canceled that web site said was running during covid
- Jennifer (10/5): Great place for a big family! - Our family of 6 loved our stay at the cabins at Fort Wilderness. It was clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed to make breakfast and dinners, while we enjoyed lunch at the parks. We will definitely be back!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Loved the nature setting the most, and being able to enjoy the outdoors while walking and biking, The children loved the ponies; disappointed that the boats were not available, and that we had to pay for on site parking?? We paid top dollar for the stay and it was a bad surprise.
- gloria (10/5): - Perfect
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Disney Cabins are the best!! My 8 year old son said it was a 10 out of 10. The staff very friendly and accommodating.
- Jaks (4/5): So heart broken - I’ve been going to Disney 60 years. Front desk person didn’t know what she was doing. Ask for cabin close to transportation . She gave us a cabin far away. She didn’t give us ours keys. We waited outside in the dark for 30 min at least for someone to bring keys. Then we went to get them. We had our grandchildren who were so tired waiting to go to bed. Still had to unpack feed and get them in pjs. Went to open bed. Bed not made. Looked all over for sheets. Found a sheet it was torn. Wait for someone to bring sheets and blankets. Omg just awful. I’ve stay at the cabin 20 years I guess they are just giving up . Getting worst and worst
- Verified traveler (6/5): - It was just ok. I expected a little more because of the price and it being Disney.
- Jason D (10/5): - Our first time in the cabins. A neat experience and perfect for the Covid era.
- Jackie (10/5): - Had a great time in the cabins. Everything was clean and we had a lot of privacy. Recommend getting a golf cart and call ahead of time as they sell out.
- Monica (10/5): - Comfortable and Beautiful Cabins
- Deanna (10/5): - The Cabins are a great addition. So nice to have a full kitchen and availability to not have to pay Disney prices for EVERYTHING including food! The rooms were decent sized. Only negative is that there was a lot of dust on the fixtures. As it has a rustic look is it sometimes hard to tell if there is dust or just the appearance of dust but it was definitely there. You do still have to pay for parking which is a little different than the campsites but having regulated A/C and heat is really nice! We will definitely stay again.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Loved the woodsy view, clean cabin, and kitchen area.
- Tammy (8/5): - The sleeping space was a little small for our family of 5 with adult kids. It was a quiet beautiful setting.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Disney’s ft Wilderness Campground is always a fun place to relax and yet be near all the parks. Always kept clean and safe for the campers
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The cabins were great. The convenience and access to everything Disney is hard to beat. Great experience.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The cabin was not clean. It was dusty, grimy and dirty. The bathroom had been used before we got there and used hand towels were laying on the kitchen chairs. The dishes all had to be rewashed before using and I refused to use the coffee maker because there were things floating in the water vessel. I felt like since I had booked through Expedia and not Disney directly I was given a slightly worse cabin.
- Louis (10/5): Refreshing After Parks - This is such a refreshing getaway when you're "doing" the parks. I would recommend having a car. The bus/transportation issue is the only drawback of this property.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Property was great it was the Expedia reservation hand off that wasn’t a great experience. Had to call to confirm that I had a reservation. Expedia called hotel to ensure that they had the reservation. With all that they still could not find the reservation at Time of checking.
- Tiff (10/5): - I loved everything about the property! We had a blast!!
- Melissa (10/5): Awesome place to stay - This place is always awesome. We love to come here several times a year. You will not be disappointed
- Greg (8/5): - Had a great stay, only complaint is necessary items missing in kitchen. No can opener or skillet provided in our cabin. Would be nice if broom and dust pan were provided as living area can become sandy especially when ground is wet. Minor things that I am used to having readily available. Staying at Fort Wilderness is such a great location, close to all the parks. Definitely would recommend this resort as we stay at or around Disney/Universal for our trips.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great 👍 had a wonderful overnight stay at the log cabin
- evelyn (10/5): - Clean, and fun
- ANA GRACIELA (10/5): - Amazing. Just I suggest to rent a golf cart previously
