- Alex (10/5): - Very easy to find. My room wasn't available but I got a nice replacement. Breakfast is nice and the place looks lovely. Also very quiet and clean. A few cats are walking around. Nothing

- Catriona (10/5): A family guesthouse with warm hospitality - Vanadzor is a worthwhile destination in itself (e.g. the huge semi-derelict chemical plant, a must if you’re interested in Soviet architecture, and the planned centre of the city). We were glad that we arranged a tour with a local guide during a stopover on the way to the northern monasteries. Marine is a wonderful host. At zero notice she gave us a delicious supper (broccoli soup, dolmas, home-made compote and fresh bread). The breakfast was abundant and delicious. Our room was spacious and pristine, with garden view and access to a balcony. It felt like a real home-from-home. We could have done without the inconsiderate guests who woke us up twice, at 2 am and 5 am, while talking loudly on the balcony right outside our room. There could maybe be a notice asking smokers to use the garden after 11 pm and/or keep their voices down. At all events it is not the hotel’s fault.

- Margaret (10/5): Lovely spot in Vanadzor - The garden was divine and the breakfast delicious . The MagHay is in a weird cul de sac, so dont be put off by the location. It is very close to down town. The Manager is wonderful, so helpful even though her English is limited. Perhaps they could tell guests about the lovey park at the back? My door wascdifficult to.lock and unlock...but there wasalways someone there to help. Without air con...my room was hot.
- Gabriele (10/5): -
- Sarah (9/5): peaceful getaway near the park - Peaceful, green, calm and bright room, pleasant staff, close to the park
- Cameron (10/5): Boutique stay with delicious food - Very homey feel to the place. Peaceful garden area with an array of beautiful flowers. Spacious terrace area to enjoy the outdoors in the shade. Cozy room with comfortable bed and in unit bathroom. The owner is very nice and communicative and helped set up our onward journey to Dilijan via marshrutka. Amazing dinner and breakfast for an affordable price. Nothing, we had a great stay
- Levonyan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Talene (10/5): Beautiful garden retreat with top notch amenities - not to be passed - Maghay b&b is a Garden of Eden in the center of Vanadzor. The staff is so friendly. The accommodations are fantastic - beautiful and cozy. The food is incredible. The best meals we’ve had in Armenia and we’ve traveled for 2 weeks all over the country. Absolutely nothing to complain about! We will recommend Maghay to everyone.
- Ashish (10/5): Beautiful Hotel Well Designed - Well designed boutique type hotel , with garden and lot of common places to sit , good dining are or mini restaurant , very good place for a group of friends to stay and enjoy , just off the main road . Boutique type so little expensive . Also very quite in night so can have a good night sleep . During my stay i had an issue with no hot water in the bathroom in the evening .
- Jennifer (8/5): Very good - Very clean and quiet, beautiful garden, good food in the dining room, helpful staff.
They gave me a ride, for 25,000 drams, to three monasteries in the debed canyon which were just amazing. Haghpat, Sanahin, and Odzun. UNESCO world heritage sites. Simply amazing. Highly recommend it. I had a problem turning the key in the door because you have to lift the handle in a certain direction to open in a different direction to close and it was just confusing and hard to remember. It would be helpful if they put up a sign on the doors for people who are not used to these kind of locks. We don't have these locks in the US.
- Thomas (10/5): Familiar, central, full equipped, professional. - Phantastic breakfast, room, staff, locacion, internationality. (-)
- Susadienes (10/5): Fantastic stay - We booked two rooms for our stay- one budget and one bigger. The budget room was small, but perfectly enough for one night stay. The second room was just wow. Spacious, beautiful, clean and the beds were very comfortable. The yard and the seating area were stunning. We have also ordered breakfast, which was an amazing choice! Freshly made, delicious, rich with a really good coffee. Totally reccommended to everyone!
- Igor (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jonathan (8/5): Very good - Best breakfast we had in Armenia. Vanadzor is not a place dripping in luxury, but MagHay allows you to experience it in homely comfort.
- Alexander (10/5): Wonderful and atmospheric stay in Vanadzor - Beautiful and comfortable place very close to the city centre of Vanadzor. Extremely well done up with rustic finishes. Room had everything we needed- fridge, hair dryer, kettle, towels. Everything had already been anticipated and laid out. It was also super clean. The room was extremely spacious too AND was well heated against the spring chill. Bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was at 3000 drams per head and was really tasty! It was served in their very pretty and cozy restaurant. They have some adorable cats on the property too. Highly recommend for an atmospheric stay in Vanadzor! Nothing, everything was perfect!
- Hasmik (10/5): Exceptional - I had a wonderful stay! The garden was absolutely beautiful—peaceful and well-kept, perfect for relaxing. The breakfast was delicious, with fresh and flavorful options each morning. Highly recommend this guesthouse for anyone looking for a charming and cozy getaway.
- Rubina (10/5): Exceptional -
- Tommaso (9/5): Superb - The room and the atmosphere Nothing
- David (8/5): Very good -
- Sho (10/5): Exceptional BnB experience! - We had a delightful stay at MagHay and recommend it highly! The homemade breakfasts and dinners were incredible - some of the best food we ate in the Caucasus. The location is close to the city center and easy to walk to cafes, the market, and the bus station. The property is well maintained and very comfortable. You can see mountains from the balcony and the garden is a very lovely place to sit and relax. They provided a taxi for us to visit the local monasteries and Debed Canyon. The hosts were friendly and helpful. They helped us learn the minibus schedule to our next destination. Nothing.
- Gergana (8/5): Very good -
- Nicholas (7/5): Good - Located on a small lane off the main road made it difficult to find initially. Once located an easy walk from city centre . Very small room but adequate. Everything very clean . Nice courtyard garden to sit in in good weather (which it wasn't). Overpriced breakfast not taken . Well appointed bathroom but the big no-no , there was no toilet seat which is unacceptable in such an establishment . Bonus was a light switch near the bed which is unusual in Armenia.
- Brian (10/5): MagHay B&B is comfortable oasis in Vanadzor where you can experience generous Armenian hospitality. - It is situated in a convenient area of Vanadzor.
This B&B is very clean . It is owned and managed by a very nice family who do all they can to make guests comfortable. Not only are these people excellent hosts , they also know Vanadzor and the surrounding area very well and provide great recommendations of where to go.
The food offered at the property is quite good . I had breakfast on the premises yesterday. It was a very good and prepared by a very nice woman who works closely with the B & B owners.
I originally was going to stay only one night at MagHay but enjoyed the town and surrounding area so much that I will now extend my visit by a couple of additional days. I have no criticism…
- Christina (10/5): Exceptional - The good ratings, all the mentions in travel blogs and our guide book have a reason and are legit.
Gorgeous garden! -
- Taline (10/5): Exceptional - The garden is a peaceful heaven. All of the hotel staff was adorable. A bunch of cute cats going around. The room was clean and comfortable. Location is nice, calm, near the mountains. The breakfast was generous and tasty homemade marmalade. Nearby, you'll find one of the best coffee/pastry in Vanadzor, Shamam's macaron. A must try. Overall it's a perfect ratio price-quality! Will come back!
- Normlan (10/5): Spacious, rustic rooms with a nice garden, copious local breakfast - Spacious, rustic rooms with a nice garden, copious local breakfast, nice central location, all amenities we needed, recommended! A bit difficult to find at first, Google Maps location wasn't clear
- Sona (7/5): Good - Nice people and nice location with a beautiful yard. It was super noisy and people outside talking till midnight as well as from 7:30 in the morning cars driving. Since my room was close to the parking it was awful, could not sleep the whole night. Also the shower was an issue had to take it with cold water for the first 5 minutes.
- Hayk (10/5): Exceptional -
- Gabriele (10/5): One of the best guesthouse I ever been. - Fantastic Guesthouse set in a beautiful garden. Great breakfast, very friendly owners and staff. They can help you with any request. I highly recommend it!

- Margaret (9/5): Delightful garden setting. - Lovely garden setting and spacious room. Very clean and comfortable. Curtain could have been thicker for window that opened to shared space.
- Stan (10/5): Extremely comfortable stay with excellent home cooked food and friendly staff who speak good English. - Our room ( a suite) was large and very comfortable with sunlight streaming in the bay windows. Probably the best we’ve had in Armenia. The family were very welcoming and spoke good English. The home cooked dinner and breakfast was delicious. Nothing. Everything was excellent.
- Katharine (10/5): Would highly recommend this hotel and would definitely stay here again. - Extremely comfortable and attractive. Marina was a superb host and the food was the best we have had in Armenia.
- Robbie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Mark (10/5): A nice stay tucked away in vanadzor - We most enjoyed Marine and her husband’s hospitable personalities - they went above and beyond for us to accommodate our toddler’s needs. Her breakfast omelets and sausages are delicious. She arranged a monastery tour and we enjoyed seeing the main sights in the Lori region. Her location is quiet but a 5-minute walk from the town square where we tried local food and took our toddler to the indoor kids zone play area which was about $1 for 30 minutes. Overall a great two days in Vanadzor!
- Li (8/5): Beautiful and cosy B&B in the town centre - Beautiful, clean and cosy air B&B. Friendly owner Marine and her husband. She makes a lovely breakfast too! There was another family with kids running around after 11pm. Because the floors are made of wood, would appreciate if they didn't run around stomping after 10pm.
- Champagne (8/5): Relaxing, would recommend - Clean, comfortable hotel with lovely staff who were happy to help and spoke three languages. Lovely food and easily organised a taxi for us to visit local sights. Shower a bit weak
- Rossella (10/5): Beautiful hidden gem in Vanadzor!! - This B&B is an amazing hidden gem in Vanadzor. Room are clean, spacious, comfortable and there is everything you need.
We have enjoyed the homemade dinner and breakfast, which were absolutely delicious! Every single thing was fantastic - from the host to the hospitality, from the garden to the cute cats! Everything was perfect!!
- Garik (9/5): Superb -
- Maria (9/5): Pleasant and homely. - Central position. Nice garden, pretty Christmas decorations on the large conifer by the house.
Pleasantly warm room (December 23). Helpful staff. (Organised my day trip to the Debed Canyon and negotiated a better price for the ride to Tbilisi.) Very generous breakfast and 2 very nice home cooked dinners. A little difficult to find (had no satnav).
Very thin walls - a late arrival’s movements all clearly audible.
- Ani (10/5): Exceptional -
- Margaret (7/5): Good -
- Nordell (10/5): Pick this place! You won't regrett it! - Great value for money. Friendliest people on the planet. Great dinner, great service and a wonderful breakfast. The best part was hour long discussions in the evening. Now I know a little bit more about Armenia.

- Kim (10/5): Beautiful oasis in the heart of Vanadzor - MagHay’s is an oasis in the heart of Vanadzor. Just a short walk from the Main Street, it has a beautiful garden with ample places to relax, a lovely indoor dining area overlooking the garden and plenty of character. The family all speak perfect English and are very helpful. The owner organised a tour of northern Armenia for us with her son-in-law, which was a fantastic day out, had dinner ready for us when we returned and had her chef make us a takeaway dinner for our train to Georgia the next night. We only stayed for one night, but wish we could have stayed longer. My partner was woken up a couple of times by an intermittent loud hammering sound coming from the plumbing system.

If busy then noise of people in the garden might irritate but it was quiet when we stayed. Breakfast was superb.

They were able to help us with arranging a tour to the Debed monasteries and onward travel to Tbilisi by taxi.
Breakfast was really superb.
Overall it was a lovely stay. They kindly made us a packed lunch for our tour. I didn't check the cost of that in advance and felt it was very expensive when the time came to pay. My mistake though for not checking that in advance. Otherwise the costs were reasonable for the stay.
