Guest Reviews
- Irfan (10/5): Great hotel with great location - Hotel was right beside train station and was in middle of all the action and restaurants. Hotel was very nice and clean and very comfortable. Breakfast option was good and tasty. Definitely will stay there again when visiting Venice next time.
- Christine (10/5): - The room was a little chilly even on the highest temperature Decor is beautiful, but the shower is difficult to use. The placement is awkward.
- darling (8/5): - Nice hotel next to the train
- John (4/5): - Cons- Right when we entered the room, we noticed the air conditioning was making a loud rattling sound, the TV wasn’t working, the toilet lid was broken, and the toilet paper holder was broken and on the floor. We notified the front desk immediately and at first she said she had another room, then all of a sudden she didn’t. She said she’d notify maintenance of the problems and they never came either of the two nights we were there. We never heard back from anyone and we were never offered any discounted rate or any amenities. There’s also no elevator or bell service here so we had to haul our luggage up three floors of stairs. There is also no complimentary water or anything else in the room. There’s only a small assortment of snacks and champagne they charge extra for,
Pros- Good size shower, close to train station, and a decent included breakfast.
- Henrique (8/5): - No elevator
- Vaughan (6/5): - Reception lady was LOVELY! Super kind and helpful.
Cleaning ladies were not as kind but could have been language barrier. Hotel was fantastic location 3 min from train station. Room were better looking than expected which was great.
Breakfast was poor. The breakfast lady at the smaller side of the hotel microwaved raw bacon, hot dogs and eggs together to ‘cook’ for breakfast.….. made us sick!
She also kept getting snappy and was very rude and kept getting angry at us for requesting coffee (part of breakfast and her job was making them for us). She also would not stop touching her nose and then food. We refused to eat anything she would touch which was basically everything.
Really disappointed in the breakfast as the larger side of the more modern hotel had a full on breakfast display with proper to order eggs.
Breakfast time slots were first in, first serve which is really poor for how much you pay. Thankfully we checked in early so got the 8am timeslot but annoyed to find out they squeezed in 2 other rooms when it only had space for 18 people (barely enough room for that) so the ones of us who had pre secured the time missed out on seating as the lady didn’t stick to the list.
- Rashmi (8/5): - Good hotel. No elevator … good service.
- linda (10/5): - Clean tidy, great location. Lovely staff. Recommend
- Timothy (10/5): Great hotel for visit to Venice - The hotel is very close to the train station so making it very easy to walk even with large luggage. Check in was simple and hotel is secure with key card required for entry. It is a short walk to the main walk way where there are dozens of shops and restaurants. Would highly recommend for a short trip to Venice.
- Paul (10/5): - Thoughtful service and went above and beyond to provide early breakfast take away for our group.
- Amy (10/5): - Nice hotel. We enjoyed our stay. Very close to train station, water transportation, shopping and restaurants.
- Batina (8/5): - The garden on the Chanel. Staff was very friendly and helpful.
- Israhel (10/5): - It was very close to everything
- Israhel (10/5): - It was very ok
- Mahnaz (10/5): - I really enjoyed my stay, very clean, breakfast was good, and the front desk lady was very friendly and guided me on how to go around Venice, and going to the airport, very helpful
- Claire (10/5): - We stayed for 2 nights, the room was lovely and clean. The breakfast was very nice, coffee great too. The room had a mini fridge however didn’t seem to stay very cold, could have been you needed to keep key card in the wall all day, but we were only given 1 card so couldn’t do this. Overall very nice stay. Great location too. Check in was in the opposite hotel reception.
- Ayesha (2/5): - The only redeeming factor of this hotel is its location. For the price we paid I wouldn’t say it was worth it. We had two checked suitcases and while we knew about the stairs prior we only got assisted with one bag by the concierge up four flights of stairs - the concierge btw is in another building. The rooms are a bit dated but clean. The tub is way too high so wouldn’t recommend this hotel for anyone who has accessibility issues. The ground floor had a terrible sewage odour which was nauseating. We needed assistance with the TV and the concierge didn’t know how to help us, said her “partner” usually does those things. Included breakfast was fine, served by a lady who couldn’t speak English. There are a couple of hotels nearby which looked way better!
- Robert (10/5): - Very cute.
- wagdy (10/5): - Hotel was excellent and very close to Train station, clean room, front desk very helpful, but the lady serving Breakfast needs to be trained how to treat customers and stop speaking in Italian to people speak English, she seems she hate her job and very unorganised.
- Robert (8/5): - Two minute walk from the train station.
- Keith (10/5): - The biggest quirk we had was the check in across the alley. It felt weird but was easy. I picked it because of the location to the train. The check in was easy and the allowed us on checkout to leave our bags since it was an overnight train. The breakfast included was your average continental which was good. Decent selection of options. It was far enough away from what was the main road that it was quiet.
If I come again I would only stay here because it has everything that I need, its location was good to what I need.
- Pablo (10/5): - Great
- spedteacherytown (8/5): Great location for travelers - Great Location for Venice Travelers I stayed at A La Locanda di Orsaria for a quick trip to Venice and overall, it met my needs very well. The biggest highlight is definitely the location—super close to both the train station and water bus stops, which made getting around the city a breeze. If proximity to transport is important to you, this place can’t be beat. The check-in process is a bit unique—the reception is across the alley from the main hotel, but it was no problem. The staff member who checked me in was super friendly and helpful; she even walked me over personally, gave a tour and explained everything, which I really appreciated. My single room was quite small, but honestly, that’s all I needed—who spends time in their room when you’re in Venice anyway? Just a heads up: the shower is extremely tight. I’m around 6 feet tall and 250 pounds, and I just about squeezed in. If you’re much bigger, especially if you value your space in the bathroom, you might find it uncomfortable. The check-out experience was less warm—the staff member seemed a bit annoyed, but given the amount of tourists they see daily, it’s somewhat understandable. I was able to leave my bag at the hotel after check-out, but it was just placed in the lobby area, and when I returned, there was no one at reception so I just grabbed my own bag. Nothing was missing but it did feel a bit odd and less secure than I’m used to. Still, the hotel overall felt safe during my stay. They do ask you to sign up for a breakfast time when you check in. I didn’t get to try it since my visit to the Doge’s Palace ran long, so I can’t speak to the quality of the food. All in all, this is a solid choice for solo travelers or anyone wanting a simple, functional hotel with a fantastic location. It’s not luxury, but it gets the job done and lets you focus on enjoying Venice
- Bradley (6/5): - Everything was great excepts the rooms amd bathroo are very small.
- ANNA (10/5): - I like that it was minutes away from the train station.
- Tanya (10/5): Beautiful venitian feel... - Excellent location! Wow! Right in a private alleyway with restaurants and across from the grand canal. Ideally located near the train station and vaparetto. Room was amazing. Breakfast was delicious with a nice variety and exceptional cafe/cappuccino. Friendly staff. Lydia at front desk and breakfast staff were lovely. Only 1 downside. Shower drain would not drain. Overflowed even with minimum water and turning it off as we soaped etc.
Would stay here again in a heartbeat
- Stefan (8/5): Close to the station - Only 4 min walk to the hotel from train station, probably 10 min from bus station.
Hotel rooms are a little dated, but beds were fine.
Breakfast was okay, not a large variety to choose from & you use another hotel opposite.
Staff were friendly and willing to help.
- Judith (2/5): - No elevators!
- Dwayne (6/5): - All items at breakfast was cold, I couldn’t get an iron for “safety reasons,” guest service reps weren’t exactly friendly. Conveniently the area was 10/10 and cleanliness was great. 3/5 overall.
- Sean (6/5): - Good location to train station. Breakfast was nice and staff was friendly. Our room 706 AC did not work, which was massively annoying as we were there during the hottest days of the year.
- Darren (10/5): Good location in Venice near station - Excellent location.
- Rebecca (4/5): - The pillows were awful flat. The AC only kept the room at 78 and there was no air flow. The TV didnt allow for streaming. There was no elevator.
- PETER JUN SEOK (10/5): - Great locatio
- Amy (8/5): Good little spot - The location was great and an easy walk from the train station. Yes you have to check in a few doors down across the street but there is a sign on the door that makes it very clear. A great little place for a quick visit.
- CARLOS A (10/5): - Close to the terminal, just need to walk to enjoy Venezia, and Excellent Breakfast included.
- Sarah (8/5): - Beautiful hotel. Check in was smooth but you have to check in across the street. The shower is very small but as an American I guess that’s something you have to get used to when you’re in Europe. Other than that it was a nice stay. Would recommend.
- Lyudmila (10/5): - Very beautiful hotel. Near train station, very convenient location. Breakfast was delicious. Would stay here again.
- TERRY (10/5): - VIP was on 3rd floor! With no elevator!
- Mike (10/5): - Location is perfect, only a 4 minute walk from the train station. The hotel is clean, the staff was excellent and breakfast was good as well. If there was a downfall at all it would be that there isn’t an elevator…but after all you are in Venice so that is expected. Highly recommend
- Tracey marie (10/5): - Hotel was very convenient to train station, bus station, water taxi, shops and dining. Very clean and staff very helpful
- Luke (8/5): - Would recommend if taking train or bus. Water taxi was a longer walk with luggage. Once in easy access everywhere. Left by train which was super easy. Breakfast was solid. Excellent cappuccino. Nice clean room but no seating other than beds.
- Brian (10/5): - Short 10 minute walk from train station or bus drop off point from airport. Room was in good shape and included breakfast was great. Also were willing to store bags for a few hours after checkout before catching train out of Venice.
- David (10/5): - Fabulous location, friendly and knowledgeable staff, very clean.
- Lesley (10/5): - Loved this quieter area of Venice! Some amazing wine bars like Vino Vero in the neighbourhood
- Companion27604178840 (8/5): Great Hotel , Excellent Location - but no elevator - The hotel is located within easy walking distance to both the Santa Lucia train station and the bus terminal for a quick 20 minute bus ride to the airport and vaporetto stops are located right in front of the train station which will take you to Piazza S. Marco & the Rialto. The Superior room and bath were very clean and spacious and a great selection of toiliteries were provided. Amenities also included A/C, room safe, mini fridge and a hair dryer. Although the hotel is located less than a 1/2 minute walk from the Grand Canal and the Ponte dei Scalzi bridge, the street is very quiet. Breakfast was very good with an assortment of hot and cold items. The breakfast room is small, so you are requested to book a breakfast time at check-in.
The only reason I didn't give the hotel 5 stars was due to the lack of an elevator which we discovered upon check in. Our "second floor" room was actually on the 3rd floor by North American standards - 44 steps! I would definitely return, but would ask for a room on the ground or second floors.
- Dawn (8/5): - Nice place location wise and breakfast good. Clean but no lift. Hard to navigate stairs with large bags and no porters offered.
- rosalita (8/5): - This is perfectly close to train station but quite a walk towards the heart of Venice. we took the Vaporetto pass and it worked well for us. The room gives you the Venetian vibe. I enjoyed the well prepared breakfast.
However, the hotel has no elevators.
I received a Proseco from my Expedia VIP booking reward, however the hotel receptionist told me they don’t have ice to chill my drink. i had to drink it flat😅
The area has s lot of dining options.
- Ronald (10/5): - Easy and convenient for nonnative!!
- Sarah (8/5): Great location - The location is really good - right next to the train station. The room was very clean. It’s a very basic hotel and you have to check in at the hotel opposite. The room for breakfast is very small and claustrophobic. Our trip room was quite squished and the noise from the street outside is quite loud. Value for money is not great as this is Venice but it was an OK stay.
- Irving (10/5): Excellent location and value! - Breakfast was included in my rate. Great location close to train station and you can walk with your luggage very comfortable. Close enough to the grand canal and public transportation in Vapporetos (public ferries), but enough distance to have a good rest at night. Great value for may money. Recommend to everybody who wants to enjoy Venice.
- BostonBostonGirl (10/5): Fantastic except for receptionist Antonio - Steps from train station Sta Lucia in Venice, hotel is a perfect location. Easy to find off a side street so not so noisy. Rooms are spacious and the staff are wonderful, helpful, cheerful and considerate. Even offered to find me a porter to bring my suitcase from hotel to bus stop (less than 10 min walk but requires going over a bridge)- which goes directly to airport. So convenient and all vaporettos are adjacemt! If coming from airport, save money and take the bus to mainstation which is just a few minute walk from hotel- will save time and money. My only suggestion is to rehabilitate Antonio the receptionist on how to be professional, pleasant and helpful- it is as if he goes out of his way to be miserable to the guests- in a very purposeful way! Thank goodness he only works at nite! Everyone else is 10 stars! Breakfast buffet is delicious and varied in selection. Great hotel
- andrea (8/5): - Check in & breakfast are at a nearby hotel. Lots of restaurants and souvenir shopping nearby. 10min walk from water bus drop at Guglie.
- JAGDISHCHANDRA (4/5): - Hotel property was nice and it has easy excess to Train station. Bed smells from toilet and washbasin. Others rooms are having same issues
- Hatice (2/5): - .
- Jennifer (10/5): - Staff was excellent. Room was comfortable and clean.
- Lucie (8/5): - Only staires avalables to go to our room
- May (6/5): - We had to haul our luggage up 2 flights of steps. Check-in was in another physical hotel building across the street, which we wouid not have figured out if our guide were not with us.
- Katharine (6/5): - This room served its purpose for our recent brief stay. The a/c unit was excellent. It was very convenient to the train station which was mainly why we selected this location. That being said we did not hear any street/city noise at night.
A few notes that may be of interest to some:
This property does not have a lift that we saw and a narrow staircase. It is managed (at least during our stay but another hotel several meters up). There was only staff in the building for breakfast.
The vent in the bathroom was caked with dust and there was hair in the shower drain.
- Herry (8/5): - Good for short stays. Little bit confusing check in and breakfast time. You need to rsvp for breakfast time because the room is very small.
- Krystyne (4/5): Amenities are not included - The hotel looked nice and was in a great location however I would not stay here again. First off the place we checked in was several meters down the alleyway from where the hotel was. (Not confusing at all.) There were no elevators which meant we had to carry our 50 pound luggage up several flights of steps. Then the hotel clearly says that it will provide transportation to the airport. This is a lie!!! After being told twice to ask for a transfer a week out I finally got an answer two days before we checked in that they would arrange a transfer once we got to the hotel for 70 euro. So I canceled our private transfer. Once we got the hotel the receptionist was unable to get us a taxi and told us to go to the taxi station in the morning. Unfortunately their where no taxis to get here and when we called the number we had a very rude women hang up on us. We did eventually make it to the airport but I ruined my entire day in Venice trying to find transfer to the airport the following morning.
- Janice (8/5): - Only problem was that there was no lift, being on the second floor there were 4 flights of stairs to our room.
- Rovina (8/5): - Very close to the Venezia train station, good size room for a small family. Clean and friendly staff.
- Jayasree (8/5): - Service and staff were good.no elevator and had to carry luggage up two flights of stairs
- Mark (8/5): - Easy access to the train station
- Indira (8/5): - Everything seemed to be clean but there was a weird smell. But the room was spacious. Close to the train station. Breakfast was good.
- Jennifer (10/5): Great stay! - Nice clean room. Very friendly staff. Great location, easy to get to from the airport (took ATVO bus then 10 minute walk). Right near shops and restaurants. Great breakfast.
- Belinda (10/5): - Staff was extremely kind and helpful. Close to everything. Clean and safe. Good breakfast. Stored luggage. Great room.
- Olszewski (10/5): - Great area.. comfortable hotel.. nice breakfast… friendly staff
- Kseniia (8/5): - The hotel is a bit outdated but it served its purpose on having a place close by to train station for traveling and close by to tour bus pickups. The walk to the center of the city was about 25 minutes, but it is a beautiful walk. The beds weren’t super great, but AC was strong and cooling after a hot day outside. Some restaurants options right outside. We loved the breakfast, it was perfect! You can easily leave your luggage on the reception if you check in or check out early. All together it is a perfect spot if you need to be close to the train station, it worked out great for us!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Good hotel but the toilet was tiny.
- Shauna (8/5): - There was not an elevator and lugging my suitcase up two flights of stairs was not great. Also the shower water temperature was not consistent. It kept going hot and cold. The room was nice and clean. The location was excellent. Very close to the vaparetto and train station. The breakfast was really good!
- Jenny (8/5): - Great little hotel located a short walk from train station and also a short walk to bus which takes you to the airport. Lots of dining options nearby and great little breakfast is included. Rooms and bathroom was much smaller than I expected.
- Daniel (10/5): Great location, close to bus/train - Hotel in great location, friendly reception staff, overall room was clean and comfortable, fridge wasn’t working and the air conditioning unit was very dirty - but everything else was great
- Charles (10/5): - Location is great staff was excellent
- Katey (10/5): - A great property. Rooms are a bit older but the location is great! The staff is very helpful and will hold your bags for you until check in if you arrive early. Breakfast included is a nice touch as well. Rooms have AC :)
- HAIQIN (6/5): - not so much like.
- Jordan (10/5): - Great location for arrival by train - only a five minute walk at most. Included breakfast was good, and room was small but comfortable with good AC for the heat wave that was on.
- Sandy Dal (10/5): - Close to the train station, but tucked away enough to not be directly in the hustle bustle of the road/walkway.
- Shahram (2/5): - Very bad experience and wasting time
- Anup Kumar (10/5): - Near by railway station but very quiet and peaceful. The he staff was friendly and suggested a good restaurant for the lunch.
- Chantana (10/5): - The property was a short walk from the train station. We arrived too early to check in but were able to leave our bags and then sightseeing before checking in. The staff was friendly. We checked in at the hotel across from our hotel. Good selections for breakfast. We stayed in a triple room. Our room was spacious and clean. No elevator but we stayed on 2nd level and that was not a problem. We feel that we made the good decision to stay outside and close to the station because we saw many people struggle with their bags/suitcases trying to reach their hotel.
- kathryn (8/5): - convenient area right next to train station! a little tucked away and shared hotel with across the street hotel. room was okay nothing extraordinary but good size with mini fridge and seemed well maintained. great breakfast option.
- Agustin (10/5): - Very clean, friendly staff. Highly recommend
- George (10/5): - Great hotel. Very polite staff.
- Wenhui (10/5): - Really located right next to the train station and it’s 3 minutes walking distance. The bedding is clean. We had a sofa bed and it can sleep 4 people in one room. It’s a bit tight. But if you are a family, it’s ok:). The breakfast is good and healthy. It would be great if they offer a couple of water for the first stay. It’s hot and we didn’t have water with us! I will recommend this place to friends and can stay here again in the future. But my last visit was 23 years ago:). In general, it’s a good place to stay. Thank you to the friendly staff!!
- christy (6/5): - Location is convenient, walking distance from train . The room was dark , the shower didn’t drain and beds were like sleeping on the ground so hard . It’s an old building so the issues mentioned are consistent with age but I’d say it was just ok.
- Christian A Dorantes (8/5): - Check in at a different hotel . No front desk at this hotel
- Hayoung (2/5): - Not good for family
- Steven M (10/5): Steven - Awesome Stay & very Clean & no problem with room & A/C work awesome
- asya (8/5): - I did not like steep stairs to the top
- Yong Ming (8/5): - The Breakfast was pretty good, I loved it.
- Subrata (10/5): - Excellent location;only 3-minute walk from Venezia Santa Lucia train station. Only 8 mins walks to the Bus Stop to the VCE airport. We will stay here if we visit Venice again.
- Judah (10/5): - Excellent location, friendly staff, good breakfast
- Judah (10/5): - Great location!
- Michael (10/5): - Great concierge! Friendly!
- Michael (10/5): - Convient location. Great stay
- Salvatore (10/5): - Very close to train station and very easy location to find
- Jeffrey (10/5): - Very nice hotel and staff was great. Room was plenty sufficient for family of four. We choose this hotel due to proximity to train station. Venice is not an easy city to get around with luggage. This hotel was perfect!!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Overall it’s a good location close to station.
Good breakfast. No elevator but it didn’t bother us as we traveled light.
- Elena (8/5): - The room was really nice - recently refurbished, clean, cool. with a nice comfortable bed. The hitel is near the train station - and that what I wanted.
My only negative - it was in the second floor and there was no lift. With stip steps and luggage that looked horrifying . But I was helped with the luggage by the stuff.
