Upon arrival I was told that their HVAC system only operates on heat or AC and they had not switched it over to AC yet and it was a rather warm night. So although it was not unbearable it was not as comfortable as it could have or should have been. AC would have been nice.

During afternoon and evening, the temperature used to rise and when asked About turning on the AC, the front desk staffs were like “ Open the windows for now” I was shocked to hear that reply from the hotel staff located at the Fancy “ Upper East Side” in Manhattan Front desk staff were rude to answer questions.

- Diane (5/5): We need air to breathe - The housekeeping staff was wonderful. The room was clean and the beds were comfortable. Enjoyed the fresh brewed courtesy coffee and flavored water. The The location was convenient to many stores and restaurants. The air conditioning was not working until the last day of our stay. The room became warm and stuffy. We were told by the staff they were not able to do anything about it. Instead they suggested we open the windows which made it noisy due to all the traffic and sirens outside. For a person with respiratory conditions this would be unhealthy.

Parking, get a better deal at the closest parking deck for hotel guests. Lastly, and AWFUL….. it was so HOT in the room. Thank god we could crack window about 3 inches on both sides. But confused as to why we can’t control it by choosing A/C or heat. Weird. Never experienced that before! Tough sleeping when it’s 75-80 in the room

- eringR2783RL (2/5): No A/C and rude desk clerk - I stayed 3 nights in March. When I checked in my room was over 80 degrees. I called the front desk to report the A/C wasn’t working and they said it doesn’t get turned on until April and not to turn on the room fan because it would only blow hot air. They did bring me a fan but the room was sweltering. It was impossible to sleep. Only one elevator worked and the wait time was very long. When I checked out, I requested a printed receipt and the desk clerk made it very clear that she had no interest in helping me with this. There was nobody else waiting in the lobby and there was no excuse for her attitude. I stay at Courtyards regularly but never this location again.

Bed was comfortable, room had everything you would expect in a standard hotel. No breakfast option, the heater was loud, and the room was really cold when I arrived and didn't heat up sufficiently when trying to fall asleep.

I submitted a notice to let the property know my other family member was checking in as I used a different card for the check in and got the request approved but were causing me an issue at checkin saying they can’t honor it. And the front desk attendant was not useful at all. This is either on booking.com or the hotel, I don’t care but I know I won’t use either again.

- maria (9/5): Overall, a nice hotel: would gladly book a room again next time. - This was our second stay at this hotel, and we were once again satisfied. The room was spacious and clean, with adequate amenities. The staff was helpful and friendly, even helping us get the elevator several times, although that wasn't required. It's a quiet neighborhood, close to Central Park and the metro, with plenty of restaurants nearby. One (of the two) elevators wasn't working properly for 2 days, which was quite annoying, hence 9 stars, instead of 10.
- Renara Suelly (9/5): - Clean hotel, large room, beautiful view, comfortable bed, large bathroom. In an excellent neighborhood. Only one elevator is working.
- joshuaalandavis (8/5): Neighborhood Feel - It’s situated just off 1st with a market on the corner and views of the East River. Bring a water bottle to fill because there is none in the room. If you enjoy more than a cup of coffee in the morning, pack some pods because the line in the lobby for the machine is tedious. Neighborhood is totally walkable.
- Maeva (10/5): Super - L’emplacement pas très loin du métro et pas loin de Time square en métro 10-15 min
