- johnathanl602 (8/5): Title: Eye-opening stay with excellent staff - Title: Eye-opening stay with excellent staff This was my first visit to China, and the whole experience was eye-opening, challenging, and genuinely fascinating all at once. Shanghai itself takes some adjustment, but the hotel made that transition far easier. The staff were superb throughout. If you don’t speak Mandarin, you’ll rely heavily on translation apps, but this is clearly something the team are very used to and they were consistently patient, helpful, and accommodating. By UK high-end standards, the hotel feels a little basic, but it is very clean and well run. The building is extremely tall, which may be an issue for anyone uncomfortable with heights, although lower floors can be requested. The rooms themselves are large, spacious, and comfortable. The restaurants cater well, though Western food is noticeably different from what you’d expect back home still enjoyable, just not the same. Overall, while Shanghai itself can be challenging for a first-time visitor, the hotel was a solid and supportive base, with excellent staff and comfortable accommodation. A very good stay.

- Seedlady50 (10/5): Lovely Hotel - My husband and I stayed at this hotel as part of a Gate1 tour of China. This is a large, multi-story hotel which had a gorgeous night time view of the city from our room on one of the upper stories. Our room and bathroom were large and very nicely furnished. Breakfast was a feast with food available from many parts of the world. Staff at breakfast were pleasant and helpful. I did not interact with other staff. Would definitely recommend to other travelers

- Buk65 (10/5): 5* hotel in Shanghai - The Longmont is an upscale hotel, mainly accommodating Chinese guests. Some of the reception staff spoke English, but not all. There were a couple of large conferences for Chinese corporates while I stayed there. The room and facilities were very comfortable and the breakfast buffet provided a good choice. The hotel is large and about 50 storeys high. It is west of the main centre, about half an hour by car to the Bund.

Bathroom was spacious with a big shower and separate bath tub (club suite city view). Pool and gym facilities were great. Breakfast was excellent and staff were wonderful. We would stay again.
- 163ronaldl (8/5): Nice Facility - Longemont Hotel is very modern and very tall (53 stories). We were on the 43rd floor with a view to the east. The room was very spacious with a couch and king bed. The bed was hard as the four large pillows. The comforter was very nice. Desk area with dedicated outlets and an overhead light were great. There was a small, stocked refrigerator and an in-room safe. The electric water pot came with fixings for tea. There was plenty of room for our bags to spread open. The shower was great except when you opened the door water came out with you. Bathtub provided if you wished to utilize it. The personnel on the front desk were very helpful but not well versed in English. Breakfast was a fantastic spread with just about any food you might wish to consume.

The room looks tired and needs renovation. The hallway has an unpleasant odor. Cleaning staff is pleasant however not doing a good job of cleaning.

Menu in room states food served until 11pm, reception says 9pm and refuse you bringing in outside food for “hygiene reasons”, simply told me to order tomorrow?! 2. Take 8,000 off your card on arrival without even telling you, just asked for a card for extras, which is standard, charging several hundred pounds and more than your total stay is not. 3. It’s been 8 days since I stayed and I am due a refund for the difference between the 8,000 taken and the amount of my stay, hotel not replying and no refund given It’s a nice hotel, just let down but staff and process / policies

- Stephane (7/5): Good value but keep your expectations low. - It's an older hotel and it shows, but the size of the rooms is great, the price is very friendly and it is close to the bus that goes to the center of town. Very far from the subway, though. The breakfast was dreadful and the hotel was smelling of cold cigarette smoke and mold, but you can't change 30 years of Chinese smoking everywhere without ripping all the carpets out. The room had some equipment issues, like the power outlets, lighting, etc.

- Stephane (7/5): Very nice service, especially if you speak Chinese. Not great location. Facilities is a little underwhelming.  - The first thing to mention is that the service was really quite good. Of course, this hotel seems to cater to a local clientele, so it’s a lot more convenient if you speak Chinese. The room was very clean and very large by Chinese hotel standards. The bathroom was absolutely luxurious. The gym is very well equipped for a hotel gym, all Technogym equipment. Very clean and spacious with a great view. The property itself is pretty old. The halls smell of cold cigarette smoke and mold. It is probably due to many years of exposure to smoke and humidity as the hotel is non-smoking and this seems well enforced. The hotel set up is very old-school, reminding me of the early 90s luxury hotels in China. To give an example of how ancient some of the equipment is, I had to get my key cards re-magnetized every day because, according to the reception desk staff “the key machine is very old“. There are no chargers, or charging port for mobile phones anywhere in the rooms and whenever I was plugging my computer into the socket, there was a smell of burnt plastic.

When asked for direction, said she was not local and don’t know the area. Car park valet bluntly responded with no idea where the location is. Totally unhelpful and not proactive.

- Bird6662 (1/5): Bad - Nothing good to mention It isn't worth it to pay with this price for such bad quality. Directly next to the highway is terribly loud. Room has bad noice isolation. You can hear every single words what your neighbor said. The elevator is also very loud. Basically this hotel is old.

- Danai (9/5): Great stay higher recommended - The indoor pool of the hotel and the other spa facilities were very nice. The staff were friendly and the breakfast had a big variety of Asian and western dishes. The hotel is a little bit farther from the metro station than I expected. It is about 1 km /15 minutes walking distance. We did it every day without having any problems but it was more difficult in the rainy days.

All drinks and snacks at the room will be charged for a high price after your check out. 👎🏻 Shower gel is available but nothing to take a bath with. Bath salt will be charged extra.
