Guest Reviews
- pamdjones (10/5): Perfect for our busy, quick visit - Nothing fancy, just clean, comfortable, helpful staff and wonderful location. Walked from train station and to all of the sites. It’s very old school, which is my preference. The complimentary breakfast is at a sweet cafe around the corner. Loved it! There isn’t a big lobby/common area but we were out being tourists daylight til after dark so it didn’t matter to us.
- jesus (8/5): - This is a hotel with a great location… this is the up point. Don’t expect great facilities, average but really worth the location and the focus of the trip. The only bad thing was the bed… If the hotel can improve this it’s a superstar!,,,
- Trinity (10/5): You should stay here - Hotel was very clean, staff was friendly, accommodations were great. Location was in an area that was very walkable and attractions were close by. I would recommend staying here if you are in the Florence area.
- emG5168PT (8/5): Wonderful surprise! - My daughter and I were pleasantly surprised with the hotel! We were warmly greeted and kindly treated. The location was superb! It’s in walking distance to many of the points of interests that brought us to Florence. We liked the hotel so much that we kept extending our stay. The train station and the underground are in walking distance for our day trips. We appreciated the artwork in the rooms. Grateful for the lift there when dealing with luggage. We felt safe and secure. The people at the front desk provided helpful advice. The only thing is that I wish the air conditioner worked better. I’d definitely would return to Florence and stay here again. It couldn’t happen soon enough! Eileen
- Susan (6/5): - Hotel was a little tired and could do with some renovations, however it was clean and comfortable in the room and close to restaurants and railway station was a good point.
- Eric (4/5): - The pictures of the hotel are very misleading. The rooms my group and I stayed in are run down and in need of serious renovation. The room's electrical sockets in the wall were loose and didn’t work. None of the minibar fridges worked.
The windows in the bathroom were missing curtains, and the window glass is not one-way.
And, in room 35, the sink plumbing was held together with duct tape.
It was an unpleasant experience for my entire group. It certainly wasn't worth the 3-star hotel price. We will not be returning there ever again.
- James (6/5): - The hotel room pictures on Expedia are misleading to what the rooms actually look like. Very small and need to be update. Convenient location but I would not recommend. Mold was growing in the shower. Air conditioning didn’t work.
- astrido904 (10/5): Safe and secured - This accomodation is well located, about 7-10 minutes walking distance from Santa Maria di Novella train station. It's a historical building so the lift only fits for two or three people, otherwise you have to go up the spiral stairs. We stayed here from June 9-11 and were pleasantly greeted by Vincent on reception(third floor of the building), who also showed us our quadruple room; it looked right into busy Via Panzani, but no noise bothered us from outside and we had peace and quiet on our sleep. This room is ideal for families because it has two bedrooms so it gives couples some privacy. Our teens had two twins and here comes the weird configuration: although the toilet and bathroom sink was situated right in the middle of both bedrooms, you had to walk into the twin bedroom in order to get into the shower, thankfully the shower was comfortable and toiletries were decent so for two nights we did'nt mind that much. Our fare also included basic breakfast and dinner at two nearby restaurants only a few meters from the hotel. From 7pm, reception is closed so the only way you could get inside is by entering a code. We felt safe and secured the entire stay, rooms were dated but clean and location couldn't be better, everything was at walking distance: shops, restaurants, Santa Maria dei Fiore Cathedral, Galleria della Accademia, Ponte Vecchio, and even the bus stop for Pisa tours.
- Verified traveler (6/5): O if you are on a strict budget - It’s a budget hotel than can improve a lot in the service area. Check in desk closes at 8:30 pm so if you arrive later even though someone will meet you there to give you your room key, there will be no information on breakfast cost, hours or any special request you may have. The air conditioner never worked properly so we had to open the windows which means all the noise from the street traffic and people walking were heard. The beds are SUPER FIRM and the bathrooms are very tiny and uncomfortable.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Good location.
Negatives:
Had to request at least twice for towels as none was provided, same for shower gel.
Bathroom was overlooked by an apartment with no curtain to fully cover the bathroom window. We had to put a towel up to cover the window.
- RiCosta5 (2/5): They cancelled my reservation - O booked a quadruple room in this hotel for october for one night for 3 people. The price was 103€.
They send me an e-mail through booking asking me to cancel the reservation (without any reason) and when I didn’t accepted they cancelled themselves the reservation claiming my credit card was invalid (which is not true - I’ve talk to my bank and they told me only one hotel “took” the amount necessary and that hotel was in bologna.).
When I go now to booking, the hotel has the same room available for the same night and same number of people for 149€.
I was reading a few comments from tripadvisor and this is not the first time they do this to a client.
Seems all they care about is money, and are happy to lie and scam their guests.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Good location but air conditioning was not working and uncomfortable rooms in heat. Good location and customer service otherwise
- elduce1999 (2/5): Terrible Hotel!!! - To start off, the hotel has no lobby. You have to carry your luggage up stairs. The check in process takes a long time and is very confusing. The rooms have mold on the ceilings and the air condition is very very weak!!!!! After I complained about the mold the representative came to look and he just shrugged it off and said, that's not mold and left. Then the next day they cleaned our room and painted over the mold. just a awful experience.
- AnilR781 (8/5): Nice Hotel right into the center - The property is located not far away from station and close to the Duomo in the center. The hotel is on the 3 floor I guess. So, have to take a tiny lift up. We had small luggages. So was ok. Check in was easy. Very friendly and helpful front office staff. Room was nice and clean, vintage style with terracota tiles. So, it was perfect floor for the summer heat. Bathroom was clean and enough amenities. The shower-head was a fixed one above your head. I would have liked to take in my hand and shower. The airconditioning was struggling a bit, but ok to sleep. The beds were really comfortable. The only bad thing about our room was, that the door was not easy to lock or close. I hope they fix it soon. We did not bother to say about it during checkout since we stayed only one night. Paulo during checkout was nice and friendly guy. Breakfast was nice.
- Bloomfield_Lily (8/5): Old Mansion Well Located - This hotel is literally less than 5 minutes walk from Santa Maria Novella train station which is a bonus. Then as you walk in a few flights of stairs, an old fashioned lift takes you to the 3rd floor where the Reception is. The check-in was relatively easy apart from being mistaken as a Singaporean guest first - which we found amusing. The room is a good size as well as the bathroom. As there's no overnight staff, we were provided with keys & lock codes for the evening. Overall, it's clean, conveniently located and with helpful staff.
- Eduardo (8/5): Optimal value for money - I spent one night with family and it was a good experience. Staff helped with the parking arrangements and helped with maps and tips. It's a 3-star hotel that delivers on its promise. I'd stay there again
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Hotel grazioso, molto vicino al centro. Ottimo rapporto qualità prezzo. Personale cortese e disponibile.
- dok_moredho (10/5): Beautiful and affordable accomodation - We stayed in hotel delle tele for 3 days and our impression was great. The location is just 7 minutes from Santa Maria train station, and also very near to most shops as it is in city center. The room looks vintage but with great amenities. They even served breakfast and delivered to your room in the morning. The staff were excellent, beddings was clean. The only drawbacks was the tiny lift/elevator, we found difficulties bringing our medium and large sized luggages. But otherwise everything was superb.
- barj64 (2/5): Ignorant manager and staff - Weren't given room we paid for. Manager very rude and told us if we didn't like it to leave. Eventually apologised and offered €50 discount. When we left he would only give us €32. Breakfast came with raw egg. Manager not bothered when we showed him. Room was not fully clean .Would not stay here again.
- X1171JXgarys (8/5): Cute hotel - Stayed at the Delle Tele for two nights whilst on business in Florence - cute hotel, friendly staff, more than adequate rooms and 10 mins walk from the the centre of town. Will stay again when back in town.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Perfect location. Clean. Helpful staff.air conditioning was not really adequate for the hot weather
- Jer (8/5): - Everything has been nice and staff has been helpful. Only complaint is the bed is a little too firm for my liking. Other then that, great experience and location.
- zatus_ha (10/5): Great hotel! - We stayed in this hotel during our trip in Florence. The price was good, clean rooms, great service and the staff was kind and available for advice. The plus point was the distance from the hotel to the station Santa Maria Novella and the city center. The area is also safe and there is always someone at the reception of the hotel. I would advice everyone to go here!
- Verified traveler (6/5): no Ac in one of our rooms. Rude staff - Staff was not friendly or helpfull. They seemed worried about money from us for breakfast like we were going to skip out or something.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Good hotel - Good!
- Verified traveler (4/5): -
- Cindy and Mike (10/5): Wonderful place to stay in Florence!! - This hotel is convenient to the train station and metro stations. Paolo was the most gracious and accommodating host we had our entire trip! Our room was clean, the bed was super comfortable and breakfast was excellent. Little elevator so helpful in getting bags upstairs. We would definitely stay here again! Come visit us in Colorado, Paolo!!
- Lou (8/5): Fabulous location - Fabulous location to all of the sights. It's not a plush hotel but everything is clean and comfortable.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Great Location - The location of the hotel is fantastic its close to everything the heart of Florence and the Cathedral as well as train station however please note its on a busy road so will be noisy at night.
Breakfast can only be provided in room as there inst any space. Room, beds were old service average.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Great Hotel, Great People and Great Coffee ! - First, I was recommended to this hotel by one of the owners of a restaurant located in the main Piazza. Overall, I had a good stay, the hotel was in good condition, the room was clean and it was located one block (3 min walking) from the heart of Florence. However, the most important thing I would like to mention is the great service provided by the staff. They were extremely helpful, friendly, and nice and this is to me why this is a great hotel. Breakfast was great with a real taste of Italian Coffee and some great food.
- Giuseppe (6/5): - Ingresso fatiscente. Bagno dignitoso. Personale gentile. Buona posizione. 5 minuti da santa Maria novella.
- Claudenir (6/5): a bela toscana - boa
- Verified traveler (6/5): Nice, clean basic hotel with great location. - Hotel is close walking distance to the train station and all major sites. Elevator was broken during our stay which may be an issue for some guests since the hotel lobby and rooms are 3 to 4 floors of stairs up. Breakfast is very basic but ok. Room was very clean and hotel staff was very helpful with directions, maps etc.
- Kara (8/5): good, clean room in a great location. - Large, clean hotel right near the Duomo. Nothing fancy, except the two headed shower, which was great. Breakfast was basic but filling. Overall a great place for the price. About a 5 minute walk to the train station. Close to everything but not noisy. Solid place.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Blackout during stay with loud vibrating traffic - Booked the triple room for 1 night pretty last minute. Room had standard amenities and was old but clean. However, it did not look as bright and homely as the pictures on expedia. Further, there was a blackout during our stay and the hotel staff seem pretty nonchalant when we told them about it. Receptionist is pretty slow and aloof when we are checking in as well. Elevator is tiny. Traffic was loud at night even with closed windows and there seem to be some slight vibrations that can be felt while in bed whenever vehicles pass by. Location and amenities was ok for a short 1 night stay but overall service level, furnishing and lighting can be improved. Not recommended if you want a relaxing and comfortable stay. For the price, you could definitely get better hotels.
- Victor (10/5): Great location, friendly staff. - Very satisfied. Location is great and close to the main attractions - churches, museums, well known squares.
- CK (8/5): Average rated. Good location - Breakfast is simple... Hotel is bit old but neat. Easy to go most of the places.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Excelente localização - A localização é excelente.
- Ross (8/5): - Hotel was in a great area, close to all the sites. The rooms were good size for Europe. Booked online early and got a good value for a 3 star in Europe. The elevator to get up to the rooms on the 3rd and 4th floor was small with our bags, but it is manageable. Used the stairs when we didn't have luggage.
Desayuno excelente y limpieza impecable.
- Patrice (6/5): Great location - Great location
- John (8/5): Great Location, cozy feel - Great for low maintenance travelers. 5 minute walk from the train station, easy to find but not obvious that reception is on 3rd floor. Need to climb some steps to get to the small elevator, which was an adventure in itself. Breakfast was more than enough. Shower not for the larger than normal vacationer. Staff very helpful with advice concerning the tourist spots. Room keeps out the noisy city below. You can see the Duomo from the window.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Hotel delle tele - basic, clean, and convenient - This was the best hotel we could find which was in a central location, not too costly, had breakfast included in the price, had free wifi, and a room which had three single beds available. We were very happy with the cleanliness of the room, good air conditioning, a safe in the room, the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff and the location turned out to be excellant as the train station is just around the corner, convenient for when we had a day trip booked which had an early meeting time at the station, and the market is also very close by. The space in the bathroom in one room we booked is very tight as you get out the shower it is very close to the sink. The hairdryer in one bathroom was a bit old and the nozzle kept falling off. Breakfast room quite small, only four tables, had to wait if no room. Overall a pleasant stay though.
- F (8/5): Centrally located - Friendly staff. Clean rooms. Breakfast OK but not more. Centrally located - rooms facing the main street turned out to be noisy during the night as there was a festival in the city.
Good stay for a family of four with two rooms connected.
- L&P (8/5): Hotel Delle Tele Florence - We found this hotel very close and easy walking distance to all of the major sight seeing places in Florence. Also an easy 5 minute walk with suitcases in tow from the main train station too!!!
Room was clean and comfy, bathroom a little small (as is most hotel bathrooms in Italy).
Hotel staff spoke very good english and very helpful with recommendations for eating out and places to visit, see and the best way to get there.
Breakfast selection was limited however, adequate for our needs.
Thanks Charlie, Paulo and the team for making our stay a very pleasant one!!!!
- P (6/5): Centralt - Centralt beläget. Rummen mot gatan bullriga.
