• Sabrina (10/5): Quiet Stay in Berlin - We really liked the Alecsa. We are a family of four plus one dog. The hotel is in a quiet part of Berlin in section B of the public transportation map. The closest station is 10 minutes walk through a nicer neighborhood and restaurants and shops are even closer. The breakfast offered by the hotel is good and for a decent price. The staff is excellent.

Vor allem die Nähe zur Waldbühne und dem Olympiastadion ist hier echt super. Anbindung S-Bahn in wenigen Minuten erreichbar. Das einzige „Manko“ sind die wenigen Hoteleigenen Parkplätze, bei Veranstaltung in der Waldbühne, ist die Parkplatzsituation etwas schwierig.

• Verified traveler (8/5): Good Christmas stay as couple - Our stay was generally very good. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was clean and matches the photos quite well. The location was convenient for us, as we were a short (<5 minute) walk from the train station (S-Bahn). We had a really great time in Berlin, and this hotel was definitely a part of that. It was comfortable and clean, and we enjoyed our time there. The room was very spacious. I would note that this does not meet many peoples' expectations of a traditional hotel. It is more like a hostel that had been converted into a hotel. There is daily room cleaning, which is good. The surrounding area is quite dimly lit at night which can be uncomfortable for some people walking back (alone) at night. This location is excellent if you intend on visiting Christmas markets (as we did), since it is close to Spandau, Zoologischer Garten, Alexanderplatz and several other Christmas markets.
• Petra (8/5): - Dieses Hotel befindet sich in einem umgestalteten Plattenbau mit ca 11 Etagen. Es ist praktisch eingerichtet. Die Rezeption ist klein, aber immer besetzt, das Personal sehr freundlich. Es gibt einen köeinen Fahrstuhl oder das Treppenhaus. Die Nottür war leider abgeschlossen, was im Ernstfall sicher kontraproduktiv wäre. Unser Zimmer hatte ein Doppelbett und zwei Doppelstockbetten. Das Bad war ohne Fenster, hatte Wanne und das nötigste. Leider waren die Heizungen im Wohnraum abgestellt. Das Bett und Zimmer wurden ordentlich gemacht, kleinere Mängel bei der Sauberkeit. Ein TV und Fön waren auch vorhanden. Die Zimmer schienen alle über Balkon zu vefügen. Leider sind diese sehr hellhörig, wenn man "laute" Nachbarn hat, die sich bis halb drei nachts auf jenem unterhalten. Das Frühstück haben wir nicht getestet, erschien uns aber für 9€/Erwachsenem angemessen.

• Riaz (8/5): Good hotel in quiet location - PROS: Location is decent in a quiet residential area relatively close to S-Bahn station. Street parking is free and usually available near the hotel. Breakfast buffet is very good (although it is an extra charge). Room is spacious and clean with comfortable beds. CONS: Shower water temperature was either scalding hot or ice cold with nothing in between making taking shower there a very uncomfortable and possibly dangerous experience. Wi-Fi did not work on anyone’s devices either because of a bandwidth or the hotel’s local network issue.

• Verified traveler (10/5): - Ein einfaches Hotel mit bis zu 6 Betten auf dem Zimmer zum kleinen Preis. Für uns als 5 köpfige Familie war das Hotel erschwinglich und wir konnten den Filmpark Babelsberg und Potsdam erkunden ohne direkt mitten ins Berliner Chaos zu müssen. Eine wanne und WC sind auch vorhanden sowue ein kleiner Balkon. Wir haben dann vor Ort noch Frühstück dazugebucht welches sehr reichhaltig war für nur 9 euro p.p sowue 4 für unseren Grössten Sohn.(11). Alles in allem top und sehr zentral Achja ruhig war es auch.
• Mattias (8/5): Bra hotell. - Vi valde detta hotell när vi körde hem från Ungern. Detta hotellet har sköna sängar, bra städat, ok frukost som är värd pengarna. Lite svårt att hitta parkering platser (högsäsong) men man får parkera gratis på gatorna. Kommer att testa tillgängligheten på detta hotell nästa år igen.

Neben dem ganz komfortablen Doppelbett stehen noch zwei Hochbetten herum, die dem Zimmer den Charme einer Kaserne vermitteln. Allerdings schlief man gut in den Betten. Die Gegend um ist trotz der umliegenden Hochhäuser ruhig. Der Frühstücks/Essensraum ist ein wenig abgenutzt und ungemütlich. Das Frühstück war okay, obwohl es nichts hatte, was hervorzuheben wäre. Das ganze Ambiente des Hotels wirkt ein wenig lieblos, mit dem Charme eines Krankenhauses. Wir besuchten das Alecsa eine Nacht, schliefen gut und waren trotz der genannten Unzulänglichkeiten gut aufgehoben. Einen längeren Aufenthalt würde ich allein wegen einer fehlenden bequemen Sitzgelegenheit in unserem Zimmer, wie auch dem sehr schlechten WLan-Empfang, nicht empfehlen

• Tariq (10/5): Good managers but housekeeping is below standard. - It was good. The room cleaning was not good but the manager gave us free breakfast to subsidise for it.
• Verified traveler (4/5): - Obwohl dieses Hotel als ein 3 Sterne Hotel deklariert ist, fehlen einige Gegenstände auf dem Zimmer, wie z.B. ein Haartrockner, eine angemessene große Ablage. Die Hochbetten waren bei jeder Bewegung sehr laut, an einen ruhigen Schlaf der Mitreisenden war nicht zu denken. Die Zimmerreinigung hat sich darauf beschränkt, den Mülleimer zu leeren und die Decken und Kopfkissen aufzuschütteln. Die Bettwäsche wurde nicht gewechselt. Das Bad wurde nicht gewischt. Handtücher nicht ausgetauscht. Kühlschrank bzw. Minibar und/oder Getränkeauswahl auf Zimmer war nicht vorhanden. Ich glaube nicht, dass dieses Hotel wirklich 3 Sterne verdient hat.

It was perfect! Eggs, bacon, fruit, cereals, breads, etc. Perfect for a big american family. Lots of street parking (we were there during the summer vacation season). Very quite area.

• Heike (6/5): Old Building; Clean Place; Friendly Staff - The hotel seems to be very old, probably 40+ yrs. So, the elevator, the doors (locks, telephone to talk to person outside the door), bathroom, some of the furniture just show lots of wear. On the other hand, bed, couch, bunk beds (there were 3 in our room plus still plenty of room) seemed much newer. But that was IKEA furniture which I do like but is just not made for hotel use; it's just not durable enough for that. The pillows were extremely bumpy, the mattress very soft (and laid through?). The hotel and room was very clean; I think the housekeeping staff does a very good job keeping everything clean and pleasant. Both front desk workers we met were very friendly and helpful. The location of the hotel can be a little difficult: there's only one entry, around the corner from the parking lot. So, when you first get there you won't really know where to park (parking lot costs just a few euros per night, the spots are locked = need to get the key from the front desk first). I don't recall a wheel chair ramp, just a few steps. We only stayed one night. Next time, I would try to find a different place but would stay here if I could not find a diff. place in the same (affordable) price range. I would recommend this place for a very short stay because of the cleanliness of the place, the friendliness of the employees, and the decent rate.

A special thanks to both Vennesa and Nichole for their help and putting up with us, they where both really friendly and helpful. It is priced well and handy to the train station and access to Berlin. A great stay and would use it again.

• Chloe (6/5): Budget hotel - The hotel is close to pickelsberg station on the S5 train line, however when i booked the hotel i didn't realise how far it was from central Berlin. Our train journey into central Berlin took between 30-40 minutes one way. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful, directing us to where the best Christmas markets were. The hotel is pretty basic but clean, overall a satisfactory stay.

Hotel had a general good feel to it with families & school parties brilliantly accomodared. Staff awesome & manners exemplary, overall a real pleasurable stay and will go again.
• Richard (8/5): Rural location - A kettle in the room would have made it better. The staff were friendly, and as helpful as they could be.
• ritchie (8/5): quiet - As they say "You get what you pay for"! The only complaint I could make, was the smell coming up from the drain in the bathroom floor. The location is good, just a short walk to the lake, and to the S Bahn (15 mins on the S5 into town)
• Ritchiew (8/5): Just what we were looking for - The hotel is situated in a quiet, rural location. % minute walk from the S Bahn (S5 into town), and only about 15 minutes to town. As a nice touch, a kettle would have been appreciated in the rooms!. The only downside was a very bad smell from the drain in the bathroom. We only tried the breakfast once, which was ok, and bought rolls etc from the local shop.
• Terrence (8/5): Budget Hotel no Free WiFi - It was a little shock at first viewing of our given room not quite the hotel experience we are use to. It's more Hostel than Hotel No Carpets on the floor and no Free WiFi in the rooms they require and extra fee. Having said that it was adequate for a nights stay as we checked in at 12 Midnight and checked out by 10 am hence we choose a budget room and got what we paid for a No Frills room .
• Jason (8/5): Budget hotel in a quiet area - Budget hotel, room was clean. Very quiet neighbourhood, not much around in terms of shops or restaurants. Hotel located very close to S-Bahn, giving it easy access to all of Berlin basically. Great value for money.
• Nick (6/5): Very basic, but decent - Nice staff, hotel was fairly close to everything. I had a car, so for tourists, it might be a little farther walk, or metro ride. Pretty basic hotel, got a big room with a balcony. Was a good deal, no complaints.
• The Slickster (8/5): Great Value - Hotel was spotless. Young man at front desk very helpful in giving directions. Not fancy, but definitely met our needs.

• Dan (8/5): Very Good Budget Option - Stayed here for two nights with my girlfriend in November. The hotel is very basic with few facilities. There is a (very small) bar which apparently serves breakfast in the morning, but we did not use it ourselves nor did we see anyone else using it. The room itself was large with the basic furnishing making it seem rather empty. Everything about the room and the hotel was very clean and tidy. The room was rather cold on the first night, although temperatures in Berlin were around -7 at the time we visited and after we'd turned all the heaters in the room to the max it was fairly comfortable by the second day. I'd noticed from other reviews and some of the pictures posted of the hotel that some of the double beds were actually two singles pushed together. This is what we got. Were it not for this factor I'd of given 4 ratings across the board. The staff were very helpful and accommodating, booking taxis to the airport for us and printing out train schedules. In terms of location the hotel is about 20 minutes out from the centre of Berlin by train. I had never been to Berlin before and did little research about the transport system but found it very easy to get around and go back and forth between the hotel and city. Only one train is needed from the city with trains running very regularly and according to the hotel staff all night on Fridays and/or weekends. There is a supermarket and a restaurant or two a short walk from the hotel.
• JackJack2121 (6/5): good if you have means of transportation - The hotel was nice. The beds were comfortable and the bathroom was nice as well. Had to pay for wifi and it only worked on one device. Also had to pay 9 euros per person if we wanted breakfast after it was advertised that there was free breakfast. Also they wanted 8 euros to park your car on their property. Not in the most convenient location for sightseeing but if you have a car to drive around then it is a pretty nice location.
• Verified traveler (10/5): Alecsa Hotel am Olympiastadion - Very nice hotel close the the Olympic stadium and S-barn station only 2 minutes walk. Nice location with shops just over the road. Little bar which is open late with seating outside which is good when warm. Would recommend to anyone who what's a relaxing hotel with great routes into Berlin centre
• Verified traveler (4/5): Poor Hotel - The hotel was shabby and understaffed. Only one staff member to serve refreshments and do reception. There was a smell of drains. Very few local amenities. A couple of nice but expensive restaurants. No supper in the hotel. It hardly merits being called a hotel. Rather a hostel. Most residents were clearly young students for whom it is probably very suitable. No decent lounge. The bathroom was clean but needs a refit, peeling enamel on bath, new grouting etc. Only the most basic pillow and duvet. I was cold. We ordered a taxi which never came. Very inconvenient at 5am with a flight to catch. As a family we would never consider coming again and Expedia should have alerted us as to the standard. The windows are beginning to rot. This is a high rise block with only one shabby, small lift. Sorry! The staff do their best but are very young and inexperienced with no local knowledge.
• Verified traveler (6/5): Cheap hotel - and shows - It is a cheap - OK hotel. If you just want to spend the night, take a shower - it is fine. If you are planning to stay a few days and go to the city a few times - then I wont recommend this. It is far, but clean, isolated place, but overall ok.
• Paul (8/5): Adequate Hotel but lifeless area - in the shadow of the glockenturm and olympic stadium the hotel itself ,barring it having only the one small lift, is quite nice. for the first day i did not know that the estate of concrete flats opposite hides a square with 2 restaraunts, a coffee shop, and a kaiser supermarket amongst others. this is ideal for tyhose not wishing to pay 9 euros for breakfast. despite it being 'way out west' it is quite quick to get into the centre(or indeed Potsdam only took one hour!) due to two very convenient s-bahn lines serving the station. if your a party animal aim for a central location. if you want a calmer environment then this is for you.
• M (4/5): - The cancelations policy is ridiculous. If you book the room after 4 Nov, you are not allow for any reasonable refund. The terms and conditions for cancelations policies are not reasonable even called 3 days in advance. The hotel.com Singapore website does not have room booking cancelations functions which the hotel claim so.
• Verified traveler (8/5): Nice price, Needs some work - We booked the hotel because of the price. It wasn't in the center at all, but, this was fine for the price. Decently close to the city rail. Street parking was ok. Room was pretty big, with an awkward room in corner, couldn't figure out purpose of it. Had balcony. Quiet place. 2 big problems here were, no internet in room. And only free internet they offer is from this downstairs computer. 100's of people, one crappy computer. Other problem was that the shower did not work, and we were forced to take cold showers. We were only there for a couple of days, so didn't bother to complain. Still was a pain though. I think free internet is a must have for all hotels, and don't like it when they try charging me for it. All in all, it's not the most snazzy hotel, but at decent place to set up camp due to the price.
• Roman (8/5): Nice hotel for comfortable price - Very good decision for modest budget. But note that we were with car. It's quite distanced from the center.
