- T6581ENjamest (8/5): good experience with this hotel for a night stay - we just sleep here for a night so the review will just be based on little experience, we didn't eat breakfast for our flight is very early, the place is a little bit far from ximenting but walk-able, the room well is good enough, we can place 2 medium luggage and 1 small one, it has a nice tv channels because it is cable , the room has a lot of electric plug, you don't even need to bring your charger for they have usb-a charger. the bathroom is good but doesn't provide anti-slip so be careful. the down side is they still use key for the door and only provide one key, we stay at 9th floor.

- chihoko (8/5): 日本語を話せる方がいらっしゃいました - ３連泊しましたが日本語を話せる方がいらっしゃらなかったのでそんなもんかな、と思っていたら３日目に日本語で話しかけられびっくりしました！朝食もついていてありがたいですね。ほとんど遅い時間だったのですが最終日に早い時間に訪問。やはり早くに行くとメニューが豊富で素晴らしいです。
- laurayinmay (8/5): Cheap and pretty good safe location nothing to complain about for this price - It's roughly 8 - 10 minutes walk to Ximending so not close not far kind of situation. Rooms are not fancy but clean and good enough, no amentities only shampoo and shower gel and tissues. The small fridge serves it's purpose. The room has a working desk, and usb cables for charging which is good, hot and cold water with a bathtub section. Breakfast isn't the best but rice porridge, toast and veggies, noodles and stirfry is fair for the price. Hotel is clean and no smoking smells in the rooms. Dont expect much from the reception as it's quite no frills but they try to accomodate what they can, no porter but there is a cart thing for you to use and a luggage weighing machine.

- Hiroko (6/5): - 西門駅から少し離れてますが周辺のお店を見ながら歩くのは楽しい。朝の散歩で龍山寺まで歩くこともお勧め。 朝食もパンやお粥、饅頭の他日替わりのおかず類どれも美味しい。 お部屋もコンパクトではあるが過ごしやすい。なんと言ってもベット脇のコンセントは便利。 廊下の話し声やシャワーなど水を流す音はよく聞こえる。壁の薄さは海外あるあるだと思っていて仕方ないかと思っている。 ただ、朝方の異臭(誰かお腹壊してる？って臭い)は寝てられない何が起こったのか本当にビックリした速攻窓開けて換気はしたけど…これには我慢できなかった。他は許容範囲なのに勿体ない。

- Verified traveler (10/5): 繁華熱鬧喧囂的西門城市，靜懿的休憩旅宿，期盼價格也能持續親民。 - 繁華熱鬧喧囂的西門城市，有如此靜懿的休憩旅宿，感覺很愜意，看起來應該是有點歷史的飯店了，入住後感覺很乾淨，一點都不像是身處萬華的五彩霓虹紛擾；2樓的餐廳服務人員各個親切有禮真的很溫馨，早餐時間7:00-10:00有點太短暫，經了解後得知，原來還要準備中午11:30於1樓大廳旁販賣便當，真的是辛苦這些讓旅客填飽肚子的可愛人員，還交代我記得說是2樓餐廳部的唷~~ 溫馨、親切、可愛~~ 奇特萬華中的靜懿，會推薦也會再來，因為這裡除了提供本國人民優良的住宿之外，也替我國做了很棒的國民外交宣達，期盼優質一直持續、期盼價格依樣親民。

Except for the strong cigarette smell by the hallway & in the room, the experience was 8 out of 10 as our 3 nights stay was comfortable enough. They have big double bed by the way and they gave us a discount on the extra head per night. Customer service is good at this hotel :)

- Teo (8/5): 현지인스럽게 숙박하기 - 시끌벅적한 시먼역에서 도보로 7분정도 떨어져 있어 무척 조용한 숙소. 주변에서 공사가 있어서인지 아침에 우르르거리는 소리가 좀 짜증났다. 직원들이 무척 친절하다. 2분거리의 동파육맛집은 최고!!! 소화시키러 용산사까지 걷다보면 현지인이 좋아하는 빙수집도 나온다. 야식이 생각나면 호텔에서 나와 시먼역쪽으로 조금만 가다보면(잘 찾아보시라) 새벽 3시넘어서 하는 튀김집이 있다. 아젠이라는 주인아저씨의 미소가 쿨하다. 대만 맥주가 100원이고 튀김(굴,돼지)도 그럭저럭 먹을 만하다.

- critictravels (4/5): Not the greatest - The location and staff are amongst the best but the hotel is a little outdated. The room I was given was an upgrade from an Executive room as the hotel had run out of the Executive rooms by the time I had checked in. However, the room I was given was an Executive Plus, the only thing that made is a plus is the addition of a seating area. The room had iron burn marks on the carpet and a strong mould/damp smell. I asked to change rooms as this affects Asthma. I was given the Executive room I initially paid for which was again not the greatest but no smell and a little more comfortable. In the morning both rooms I had been in had a drainage smell coming from the bathroom drain outlet. If you can cope with drainage smells then it's fine and given it was an old building it was tolerable.

- Tia (4/5): Not one for comfort - The hotel is very dated. The hotel has a damp/mould smell in the landings that carry into the rooms. The drains in the bathroom seeps drainage smells strong enough to wake you in the morning. The website makes the rooms look bigger than they are. The only bonus is the staff are friendly and it’s clean enough to tolerate the bad points. If you’re looking for comfort this is not a good choice.
- Chu (6/5): - This hotel looks new and location is great. Has parking lot for cars. However, the cleaner aunty is rude and Sometimes receptionist has bad attitude. But what’s intolerable is.... all 4 of us got bitten badly by bedbugs which clearly shows that the bed linen has not been properly washed & handled.
- chroniclesRA (6/5): A Key Point - Considering that it is situated in the biggest night market in Taipei, this hotel made it a key point. But fairly speaking, the hotel needs improvement. The carpet smells bad, the room is not appropriately cleaned, no heater on a cold night, the room interior and facility needs upgrading. Hoping this could be addressed for future stay.

Secondly, the room condition was bad and with some foul smell even when you're at the lobby or lift. The building stated smoke-free. However, almost everywhere has a heavy cigarette smell. Thirdly, the condition inside the rooms are so bad with ceilings peeling off and mold everywhere. Overall the services provided by the staffs are good and they provide a map to navigate around the vicinity as well as going to Ximen station.
- 135joycec (8/5): First time in Taiwan - I would like to commend the staff of Ferrary Hotel. They are kind and accommodating. Even if their English is not that fluent, they try their very best to help you. The hotel is old, but cozy. They also allowed us to check-in early.

Also I have 2 suggestions: 1) to put a Personal Computer (PC) for your guests at the Lobby area. Somehow I missed checking my emails and online news; 2) to review & maintain properly the equipment at the Gym-12th floor. - もりひろ (8/5): 駅からはちょっと遠いですが、いいホテルです。 - 何回目かの西門町宿泊ですが、こちらのホテルは初めてでした。 日本人観光客も多く泊まるようで、日本語が少し話せるフロントの方もいました。 受付の際、予約の確認にちょっと手間取りましたが、それ以外は満足です。 お部屋も古さは感じますが、まずまず清潔でした。 翌日朝早い出発でしたので、朝食は食べませんでした。

- Verified traveler (4/5): 硬體可以，但行政處理要加強 - 地點雖然較西門町外圍（快到重新橋）但有公車站所以不會不方便。但入住前及過程皆不滿意！一開始訂完房也付完錢了，還能打來跟我們說客滿？雖然後來處理完，但直到去現場明明已下午16點過入房時間後我們才check in，但前台卻要我們等20分鐘？這樣會延誤到後面的行程耶⋯⋯。覺得這樣的經驗讓人不太敢信任這間旅店。
- HIDEAKI (8/5): 西門駅から徒歩約８分、龍山寺まで徒歩約10分のリーズナブルなホテル - ホテルのロケーションは地下鉄で台北駅の隣の西門駅から徒歩約8分の静かなエリアにあります。深夜は静かに過ごしたい方向けかと思います。途中にはフードやドリンク店、コンビニ、マッサージ店もあり不便は感じませんでした。今回は７Ｆのファミリールームに４名で宿泊しましたが、室内もきれいに清掃されており、狭さも感じませんでした。シャワーの温水も十分で、アメニティも必要なものは揃っていました。ホテル内は禁煙のようですが、裏口を出たところに喫煙スペースもあります。 特にフロントのお兄さんが親切で、カタコトながらも日本語と筆談で一生懸命に観光や移動方法を説明していただき、ありがとうございました。ロビーや食堂でも何名かの日本人を見かけましたので、日本人のゲストも少なくはないようです。次回もきっと宿泊すると思います。 余談ですが、ほとんどが地下鉄かバスの移動になりますので「遊々カード」は必須アイテムで、空港の到着ビル側のコンビニで購入＆チャージすると空港から台北への移動で使えるので便利かと思います。

Stayed in the family room. Room is a bit old and carpet has some musty smell. Air conditioning vent was moldy as well. Breakfast was quite acceptable. Overall an old hotel in a central location with friendly and pleasant staff.

The shopping district is easily reachable . This hotel is not in a trendy neighborhood but it will provide you with a more genuine Taiwanese experience

You need to walk up a flight stairs to go to the dining area which makes it extremely inconvenient for senior citizens.
- Eugene (8/5): Decent hotel near Ximending - The location of the hotel is really good near one of the main shopping districts of Taipei, Ximending. Hotel staff were very friendly and helpful, and tried to do their best to make our stay as comfortable as possible. There's free valet parking at the hotel, which was extremely useful for those who wish to rent a car and drive outside of Taipei.

- Coll (8/5): Great staff/room/bed/location, subpar brkfst/sound - The hotel staff were so friendly and spoke both English and Japanese, so we didn't have any communication problems. We booked the SAUNA room, and though earlier reviews said the sauna didn't really get hot, we found that it just took a bit of time to heat up and having the door completely closed and the air vent closed was probably the problem. The sauna was absolutely amazing. Both of us sat comfortably in it and chatted for a long time, sweating our butts off. So staff and room and price were all amazing advantages. The downsides: first off, the walls were a bit thin-- we could hear the people above or beside us when they sneezed and the shuffling of feet when people walked in the hallways. Breakfast was a bit subpar. There were eggs and ham, some bread rolls, and porridge, but that was it. Only orange juice, grape juice, and coffee. Would have loved some ice water, maybe some cereal, and some hardier food. But the price was definitely reasonable. The location was also AWESOME! Only 10 minutes to the Huaxi snake market, 10 minutes walk to the nearest station for MRT, 5 minutes walk to big shopping area (XiMenDing?), close bus stop, lots of restaurants/food stalls/ convenience stores. Finally, the bed was SO comfortable. A lot of Asian hotels have really hard beds, but ours was so perfect, and the blackout drapes really kept the sun out, so we passed out. 100% would recommend, as long as you can ignore the sounds and aren't prissy about a no-frills breakfast.
- David (8/5): Basic but good value for money - Great staff. Clean and spacious room. The ONLY thing that lets this hotel down is the appalling quality of the breakfast buffet. Much of the hot food was actually cold and greasy. Poor selection. It was better to eat elsewhere as there are loads of good cafes/restaurants close by.

- Mr Pat (4/5): Terrible stay with construction noise - There was annoying construction noise from 9am, if you want to be wakened up by annoying noise every day including Sundays, you can stay here. The room was so disappointing, with mould on the wall, but that was not near the bedside, so we just ignored it, disgusting though. The bed and the pillow were too soft for me, the most shocking thing was, you cannot adjust the temperature of the air conditioner, there is only an adjustable knob without specific temperature indicated, that's just so ghetto. A terrible stay in conclusion, luckily we only stayed for two nights, otherwise I would even have changed another hotel and wasted my reservation fee.
- jho2 (2/5): Unpleasant service, room are not as described - I booked 3 nights for my trip in Taipei. I arrived in the hotel and found out the actual hotel is not shown in the pictures listed. The hotel is relatively old. They did not issue me an access card but an actual key that you need to return every time you leave the hotel. I reserved a king bedroom. When I went inside the room, I saw two double beds put together and they called it a king size bed. The room I received is a corner room. The edge of the mirror in the bathroom was peeled off and was in bad shape. I saw a long hair in the sink of the bathroom. I stayed there for awhile and i did not have a good feeling. In the morning, the room looked fine. At night, the room became dark, there was not enough light fixtures and felt haunted. My local taipei friends came visit me and commented the room I was staying in look like a room they would rent out for illegal activities and suggested me to change hotel. I asked for an immediate check out on my first night of my three nights. I did not stay any night at this hotel. Then, I contacted the hotel for a refund and they completely refused it. They did not give me a room with a king size bed. They said they were unable to give me a refund as the rate was discounted. However, all hotel is taipei raise the listing price and show the current rate as on sale.
- Tal2 (8/5): Excellent service - Hotel a little bit old but clean. Staff is awesome!!! Excellent service. Buffet breakfast is ok, many choices for Asian and a little less for continental. A little bit pricey for the type of accommodation. But all in all I would recommend it. I guess it's fair for rate for big city.

- Grant (6/5): Not a happy stay - Doesn't look as nice as it does in the photos. Was a bit disappointing. Then after dinner I was told that the air-conditioning would be off between midnight and 5am for maintenance - no apology. Just very matter-of-fact. Seriously? I've never experienced that before and to get no apology is unacceptable. You stay at a hotel to have a comfortable stay! Do air-con maintenance during the day! Ugly room, air-con and unfriendly staff aside, the breakfast was delicious.
- laikaum (4/5): Poor Service, old hotel but good location - I stayed here for 5 nights. Despite the location (10 minutes walks from XiMenDing Mrt station / Long San Shi mrt station.), I gotta give a "poor" rating for the hotel. Firstly, it's a non smoking hotel, but we can smell the cigarette smell in the corridor, and yes, together with the weird old and unpleasant old carpet smell. Secondly, the hotel provided buffet breakfast.But, almost everyday, the foods were running out and the staffs (more than 2 staffs plus one "lady boss" i guess) were notice that condition without topping up the foods for customers again. The trays were empty, the jug is empty and the staffs just took a glance and walking away. I observed them for 5 days and they just pretended they didn't notice and will not take the initiative to top up the foods , fruits and milk unless being asked by customers. The cafe is full of customers, and the fruits are running out since I sat down and started my breakfast, someone was talking to the staff and request them to top up the fruits, and finally the staff was taking a small plate of cutting fruits (well, for two person servings maximum) to refill the tray and the customer was finally gave up and walk away without taking any fruit. The last two day before I checked out, the housekeeper spilled my brand new facial toner and leave only few drops in the bottle, and they only said "sorry" and the end.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Pleasant hotel in interesting part of Taipei - In the beginning the staff provided me a room at the end of the corridor and located in the 3rd floor. It was a small room and not bright enough with a small window which you can see the residents living next building. I did feel disappoint and request to change a larger room in the upper floor. Luckily, the front desk staffs did concern my feeling and gave me an opportunity to stay in Room 502 which is a larger room and not that dark as the previous one. To be honest, this hotel is a bit old but overall is accepted. The location is nice. You can spend about a ten minute walk from Ximen or Longshan stations and there is a night market near to Longshan Temple.

- Elizabeth (6/5): Older hotel but clean and all basics covered - The hotel is in Ximen area, but actually a little far from the Ximending pedestrian shopping area as well as the train station. abt 15min walk. The surroundings are thus quieter, with most shops closed at night. The hotel itself was much older than we expected, with a dated décor and faded furnishings. The room size was good for a family of 4, with 2 double beds plus a settee area. Even though the room felt a little musty and old fashioned, it was clean and all the necessary toiletries and amenities for the whole family were provided. The concierge staff were also friendly and helpful, which surprised us as we had initial doubts when we first walked into the lobby. The buffet breakfast that came with the room rate was nothing to shout about and can be missed for better local food outside. One great thing about this hotel is the laundry with dryer room provided free for guests, this let us cut down our luggage by about half since we could wash and dry our clothes from the previous part of the trip. However we will not consider staying here again, mainly due to the distance from Ximending as well as the older state of the hotel.
- gumbokins (6/5): Decent stay - We stayed here on 2 separate occasions, first at the start of our trip and again on the last 2 days. Both stays we got different rooms on different floors. The first night, maybe because we only checked in after 6pm and was staying one night, the rooms we got on the 10th floor were freezing cold, dim and it took forever for the water to get hot. We were not impressed! The second visit, we stayed two nights, and the rooms we got on the 11th floor were much nicer, brighter and not so cold. Showers were nice and hot. The rooms themselves were standard hotel rooms, generally hotel rooms in Taiwan are quite spacious. Clean sheets, comfy beds, we got extra blankets in ours the second time round. Great wifi connection. Soundproofing is not so good, I could hear traffic (not loud but still audible) and people in the corridors. My parents were in the room next to ours and could hear my child crying. Breakfast was a small selection of eggs, ham, noodles, congee and breads. The hotel seems popular with tour groups, large groups were checking in and out during our stay there. The staff were always ready to answer your questions, they were not smiley or look very friendly but it was always a hive of activity. The Ximending MRT station is about a 10 min walk from the hotel and the area is surrounded by shops. We didn't have much time to explore but there is a bakery just two doors away and some convenience stores, eateries, fruit shops. I did not check out the laundry facilities but there is a self service laundromat nearby.
- IvanS225 (8/5): Good location - Despite its dated facade and furnishing, Ferrary hotel has great location and is walking distance to Xi Men Ding area. The staff are helpful and friendly too: we had some issues with receiving the wifi connection in the room and they actually loaned us a router so that we could receive the network in our room. The breakfast spread in the morning was acceptable too: covering both Asian and Western food!
