- Lucia (10/5): Central location and excellent service - This is a newly renovated hotel close to the waterfront, la Rambla and the gothic centre. The decor is elegant and modern. Breakfast is excellent. Despite my initial respite which I am going to describe below, in fairness, I have to say that the reception provided excellent customer service which is very important in the hospitality area. I booked two rooms with a sitting area. On check-in our friends were given a large room as pictured and anticipated. We were given a smaller one which overlooked the square (I.e. better view than our friend’s). When I complained about the different treatment, I was given the explanation that I asked for a room with good views (which I did) and I was shown a larger room with awful view which I didn’t like at all. As compensation, they gave my husband and me a free breakfast and brought in an extra chair as requested (as the room only has one chair). On departure day, they still apologized about it. While I am still confused about the room categorization they use as explained to me and as described in their website (is the larger room standard or superior?), I must say to the reception team we enjoyed the stay and are happy to stay again if we go back to Barcelona for a fifth time.

The staff are respectful but firm and definitely not the friendliest bunch. The rooms aren’t exactly inexpensive.

However, I felt misled by the description. According to the listing, there was supposed to be a gym, pool, and bar – but none of these facilities were completed or available during my stay. As a business traveler traveling alone, I specifically choose hotels based on these amenities, so it was very disappointing to arrive and find out they didn’t exist yet. The hotel really needs to update its information so guests know what to expect.

- Jerry (10/5): - Front desk so friendly and made sure we celebrated our 50th with tickets to sights and champagne as well. We had a beautiful room overlooking a charming square with Ferris wheel in the background.

- Jean (10/5): - The hotel is in a prime location that is very walkable to the Barcelona Cathedral, great restaurants and the Metro. Their breakfast buffet is wonderful and very extensive. The staff is very helpful and courteous. We would happily stay at this hotel again!
- SANTOSH (6/5): - Not Vegetarian friendly breakfast especially we requested vegetarian breakfast options with no eggs but none were made available. The service desk said they will ensure we will have the breakfast options without eggs. All three days we just had cereal and coffee

FYI - We paid a city/ hotel tax as soon as we arrived- which we knew about, however, when we were checking out they charged me the same amount again, stating that even though my son was 17 (which is a child) the hotel considered him to be an adult and that Expedia made a mistake in stating that he is a child at 17. They stated that , Expedia was misleading when they communicated the information upon booking .

- Samantha (10/5): - Lovely hotel, very nice room with everything you need. Great little balcony overlooking the square with a side view across to the marina. Fab location, 2 minutes walk to Las Ramblas, 5 minutes to the Marina. Head in any direction from the Hotel and there are beautiful squares, bars restaurants. Even the Metro is only a 5minute walk. The renovations are continuing and hopefuy we will return next year when the roof terrace and swimming pool will be finished. Staff were all lovely cheerful and helpful

- Mina (8/5): 4nights with a child - Overall it was great. I definitely would go back there. Though there were 3 small things I didn't like about. First of all, there were only shampoo and body gel..no conditioner. I don't think I ever have stayed in a 4star hotel doesn't have conditioner. I could be wrong. Second of all, there is a mini fridge but it's full with beverages that the hotel sells .no room for my own drinks or snacks.. The last thing is the hair dryer. To use it, you have to keep pushing the button until you finish drying your hair. My fingers and hands got tired /sore while and after.. I hate this kinda hair dryer. But everything else was great. Good location, clean, quiet enoght at night, kind staff.. definitely would go back!

- Erin (10/5): Highly recommended! - The rooms were big, clean, and comfortable. Location was excellent. Customer service was outstanding! In particular we want to thank Martin, who went to great lengths to get us to our taxi when the street in front of the hotel was closed down temporarily for some sort of city work. One of the best hotel experiences I’ve had.
- Lisa (8/5): - Property is newly updated. However rooms ac did not keep the room very cool. Couldn’t lower the ac anymore and was still warm. Other than that the property was nice.
- charlene (10/5): - This is a very nice hotel, blocks off the Port, marina, and next to the Gothic area. There are bars and restaurants nearby, and the Hop on/Off bus stop is nearby. We only had 2 days, and that was a great way to see the city. The breakfast was very good, and the dining room for breakfast is beautiful. There are no other facilities, ie pool, outdoor space, or gym. There are street noises, but not bad. The nearby restaurant 'My Way' was excellent. The staff were very friendly
- Jennifer (10/5): - Although the hotel is still in the middle of the remodel it was fantastic and incredibly clean. The beds, linens, and bathrooms were amazing! The television was able to comcast and the WiFi was also so fast. And it’s an easy walk to all of the city sites. Also, the staff was very helpful and they were there all night to be of assistance. I can’t wait to go back and see it completed. It’s a must stay hotel if you’re in the area!

- laura maria (8/5): - It was mostly a good stay. Good location and clean fresh hotel. Reception need better knowledge - sent us to a rooftop pool in a hotel saying it didn’t matter that we weren’t a guest and when we arrived it did! Asked for roof top bar recommendations and none were to hand. Was offered to look into but no one came back. Should have this basic info readily available . - no milk for coffee in room, when I asked was told the hotel had no milk. I suggested some from the buffet but night receptionist told me that wasn’t allowed. Also coffee / mini bar not replenished and cups not washed up. This should be the case for a 4 star. I am picky - I work for a hotel company in London so am critical but the above are easy fixes to change a good to a great.

- Jacob (10/5): - Absolutely loved the customer service and the property. Being from the United States we felt very safe and comfortable. The breakfast was amazing and cannot thank the staff enough. The hotel was clean, comfortable, centrally located, and easy to get to. Close to the ocean but easy to get anywhere else. Cannot wait to stay again and see the new amenities that will be added!
