• tomodent (6/5): Wonderful staff, but abysmal facilities. Completely fails to meet the "Grand Mercure" standard. - First and foremost, I want to emphasize that the front-line staff are polite, helpful, and do an absolutely excellent job. They are entirely blameless and should not be faulted for the issues here. The real problem lies with the severely outdated facilities, the unjustified pricing, and the property owners and Accor Group who allow this to persist. I was staying here for 6 nights, and the poor condition is glaring, especially when compared to the Grand Mercure Bangkok Atrium. While the Atrium is also quite old and has its flaws, it at least provides the basic necessities like reliable hot water. Furthermore, while the Atrium's breakfast was heavily focused on Halal food (which was a bit disappointing for my personal taste), it still offered a far wider variety of choices than this property. Here, there is barely any hot water in the shower, and the in-room washing machine is broken. The breakfast quality is dismal on par with or even worse than a basic airport lounge. Even taking into account that this is an older serviced apartment, it is baffling that they charge rates comparable to the nearby Mövenpick solely based on their Asoke location. The blame for this unacceptable state falls squarely on the property owners and investors who refuse to spend money on necessary renovations. If they lack the capital to maintain the property, they should sell it to investors who do. Furthermore, Accor’s failure to conduct regular audits and quality checks while allowing this property to carry the "Grand Mercure" name is pure negligence. It completely betrays the trust of customers. Objectively speaking, based on the physical condition, management should urgently consider downgrading this hotel to the "Ibis Styles" tier, while strictly protecting the jobs of the current employees. The staff are working incredibly hard, which makes the owners' lack of investment and Accor's negligence all the more disappointing.

• Kalisha02 (10/5): Songkran Stay Done Right 💦 - Jakkrit, the bellman, was incredibly attentive from the day we arrived until check-out. The check-in process was fast and seamless, even though we visited during Songkran. The reception team even handed out small water guns, which was such a cute and thoughtful touch. Every time we entered or left the hotel, the staff warmly greeted us. Really reflects how welcoming and polite Thai hospitality is. We were pleasantly surprised to receive a complimentary room upgrade upon arrival ☺️. Room attendant did a wonderful job, clean room. The pool, sauna, and gym are located on the 14th floor, offering a nice space to unwind. I also noticed from the signage that the hotel is pet-friendly. Although the hotel is tucked slightly inside, the location is still convenient, within walking distance to Terminal 21 and plenty of massage shops nearby. Thank you for the wonderful stay!

Pool was very small and under repairs, refrigerator was SO loud, A/C was underpowered so it made a lot of noise but didn’t work well, furniture not comfortable, water took forever to heat up in shower, breakfast was limited to very basic items. Pillow was uncomfortable. Had to buy a room freshener because of the smell.

No area to really walk your pet unless you go out on the street. But this is typical in that area, not the hotel's fault.

Wonderful staffs and support services. The room keys are getting old and often does not work - they need to be updated. Instead of a key/card holder, better if they introduce the key touch system. The shuttle service to Ashoke BTS needs to increase more in times and frequency, especially for elder occupants.

Staff really don’t care - The only reason it is three is because the doorman and driveway guys do a great job. Personligen skulle jag nog ge det en trea. Bott på trestjärniga hotell med betydligt högre standard än detta. Absolut inte prisvärt. Känner mig lurad på pengarna.

• CasimiroI1 (8/5): Good Hotel - Needs Improvements - I stayed at this hotel for 3 weeks and as other people have mentioned in other reviews, this hotel shows it age. It is graceful, but it lacks some comforts like a restaurant and a nice bar for unwinding. True the rooms have kitchens but not everybody wants to cook during a vacation. The personnel was superb. I will mention Cream, at the reception, because I was not diligent enough to write down the names of all the other equally pleasant and helpful assistants. The breakfast ladies were also very charming and friendly. The breakfast choices dwarf as compared to the choices at the Novotel Sukhumvit 20 of the same chain. However, it had enough choices to make it a satisfying and plentiful meal. The ding in this review, that earns the hotel only 4 stars, is because on room 1006 the main bathroom shower has a problem with the hot water. It goes hot and then it stops. You only get cold water to finish your shower. I called the hotel management to have it fixed and the technician that came did not fix it. He claimed that the equipment was old and could not be fixed. I am not sure that I buy that reasoning. Management should look into this issue and fix that shower. Will I stay there again? Most certainly. The location is very quiet and convenient for taking the MRT subway and the BTS Skytrain. Both are about an 8-minute walk. The Tuk-Tuk runs on a schedule that you can count on for going and returning from the BTS. I would have preferred if it were to run longer, say at least until 7:30 PM week days and 7:30 on weekends. This is a nice pleasant hotel with very large rooms, apartments, and in an excellent location.

Rooms and furniture are dated, showers are old and so is the lighting, AC makes considerable noise and B’fast is a joke for Bangkok Standards for the price they are charging for B&B.

We were on the 3rd floor and not much of a view, the rooftop had potential but restaurant closed around midday and if you wanted a beer it was an honour system, cocktails by the pool and a bar up there would make it nice.
• P7799WYnickg (6/5): Great Location, but outdated and has pests. - Great location to everything, Sky Train, Terminal 21 Mall and restaurants and shops. Very walkable neighborhood. Staff was very nice and accommodating, friendly. The rooms are spacious, but outdated and have roaches. I was transferred to a new room and that room had a roach too. I kept my luggage and everything closed up the entire stay, as I was very uncomfortable, even sleeping in my robe every night. The hotel was kind enough to comp my breakfast for the inconvience, but it doesn't make up for roaches. I would not stay here again.

• Mainak (9/5): Another excellent stay in Grand Mercure Asoke Residence - Excellent Location. Room was big and clean. WiFi quality was excellent. Staff was very helpful. Toothpaste + Toothbrush was missing. Lights were insufficient. Only one universal plug point.
• lindawW557EL (8/5): Close to everything - The Grand Mercure Bangkok Asoke Residence is rated as 5 star accommodation but i'm afraid it does not live up to 5 star and should be rated as 4 star. The rooms need upgrading from the dark brown decor to a more modern colour. The lighting in the room is very bad especially in the bathroom and kitchen areas. A simple fix for this would be to instal LED lighting. The television in the bedroom area was far superior and newer model compared to the television in the main sitting/lounge room. The sitting/lounge room did not have an 'Apps' section where I could access Netflix etc. whereas the bedroom television did. The pool area on the 14th floor needs updating, lounge chairs broken and too low to the ground, no shade umbrellas as depicted in their advertising, not enough towels left out for people to use (had to ask), tiles missing inside the pool and pool pump situated right next to access for entry into pool. The good things about this hotel are that it is close to lots of restaurants, multi-level shopping complex (Terminal 21), BTS Skytrain and MRT, all withing walking distance. The staff are all very friendly and welcoming, from the housemaids through to security at the front gate. I would stay here again and hopefully next time there have been upgrades made to ensure this can be properly rated as a 5 star hotel.
• 789sharond (10/5): My favourite place to stay in Bangkok - Located Soi 19, an easy 5-minute walk to the heart of Bangkok everything within reach. Terminal 21 is a few minutes away, catch up for a coffee or grab some nice food. BTS right at your doorstep. I love this hotel the rooms are large, and I've stayed here many times. I look forward to coming back.

Second time it was a very smaller amount thinking I wouldn’t notice, I didn’t even bother complaining.
• Aki (10/5): Fantastic location on quiet corner but with walking distance to everywhere. - Since I was traveling with two cats with specific dietary needs, I was able to leave them separately in two rooms which was perfect. Great location as everything I needed was walking distance. Also very friendly staff.
