Pleasantly calm and quiet, despite this central location. The room was great - good size, had everything we needed Pillows were very hard - but we didn’t say anything, I’m sure the staff would have helped if we’d said something Other than that, it was all good

Bellissimi il bar e la sala colazione e ristorante al nono piano con vista sulla città, il golfo ed il Vesuvio… colazione con buoni prodotti. Il personale di sala per la colazione e anche a cena un po’ disorganizzato. Tempi lunghi e qualche imprecisione. Ma nulla che abbia rovinato l’esperienza.

• VINCENT (8/5): J'y reviens si un jour je retournais à Naples - Nous avons apprécié de pouvoir faire le check in dès notre arrivée à 11h30 sans devoir attendre 15h. L'accueil était sympa et la chambre était grande. Le lit devait faire pas loin de 180 cm de LARGE. Ce qui n'est pas tjrs le cas... Le positionnement de l'hôtel est tout simplement idéal. A 50 mètres du métro, station Toledo, qui vous emmène à la gare pour vos excursions vers Pompei, le Vesuve et cie. Le port pour l'embarquement de toutes les lignes qui déservent les excursions vers les 3 îles est situé à 12 minutes à pieds. Le funiculaire pour Vomero est à 8 minutes. Vous êtes également en plein milieu d'une belle quantité de restaurants côtés à plus de 4,5 sur google. Bref c'est vraiment le pied pour votre séjour. Pour le petit déjeuner, la terrasse du dernier étage est très calme et vraiment très agréable. Pour leur buffet, c'est malheureusement tjrs un peu compliqué d'avoir de tout pour chaque matin. Il manque systématiquement qqch. Souvent les œufs brouillés, ou les mandarines, les bananes etc... Néanmoins cela reste un buffet très correct.

• Francine (10/5): excellent; a beautiful hotel. i'd stay there again. - breakfast was fabulous; and the elegant rooftop dining room was sublime. the room was beautifully appointed and the maid service was tops. every detail was excellent. BUT, a recommendation: in the shower, you need to install a tray for soap and other toiletries. i had to set bath materials on the shower floor. the staff was very attentive without being overbearing. they even prepared a snack bag for our departure to the airport. see aboce re: shower details.

• Patricia (9/5): Super Lage, hübsche Einrichtung, Frühstück tiptop! - Die Lage ist super und die Zimmer sind frisch renoviert. Das reichhaltige Frühstück ist im obersten Stockwerk. Die Fenster sind gut isoliert, was bei der zentralen Lage notwendig ist.

Aan de receptie konden we met al onze vragen terecht; Flavia, Ruben, Giuseppe en de andere stafleden hebben ervoor gezorgd dat we een heerlijke tijd in Napels hebben gehad.

• Barrie (10/5): Super hotel in a great location. - Great location, clean, friendly staff. Really nicely appointed rooms. I think they have had a makeover since some reviews. Breakfast was great. Right next to Toledo Metro Station and via Toledo which is next to the Spanish Quarter where there are loads of tasty food options. There was no in room information (not even via the TV) and we had to return to reception to get the wifi code. The tea and coffee wasn’t replenished and no complimentary water (or we assume not as it was in something described as a mini-bar and there were no prices)

I do not speak Italian but it was very clear they were talking about me. And my impression was it wasn’t positive.

Kurz nach 7 in der Früh Telefon: Ihr Fahrer wartet... dabei war 8 Uhr vereinbart... dann allerdings unkompliziert geändert. Um den Preis pro Nacht alles nicht akzeptabel.

The bed was alright but we've slept on more comfortable beds elsewhere

• Scenic50640910716 (4/5): Overrated 🤨🤨🤨🤨🤨 - Experience at the Grand Hotel Oriente, Naples Upon arrival, the Grand Hotel Oriente initially gives the impression of grandeur suggested by its name. Unfortunately, this impression quickly fades. When compared to what other contemporary hotels are offering today—in both presentation and guest experience—the hotel feels dated and firmly stuck in the past, perhaps lingering in the shadow of its former heyday. The room itself is large and spacious, which is appreciated. It is clean and presentable, but beyond that, it lacks any personality or sense of design. It is simply “okay”—functional but uninspiring, with no character that reflects Naples or the identity of a grand hotel. I do not usually enjoy leaving negative reviews, especially knowing how much effort hotel staff put into their work. However, on this occasion, I feel compelled to do so. I am qualified to offer this critique, as I work within the hospitality industry myself and understand both operational challenges and guest expectations. The lobby is particularly disappointing. It is bland and uninviting, more reminiscent of a hospital reception area than the entrance of a hotel that claims grandeur. There is no warmth, no soul, and no sense of place—nothing that welcomes you or reflects the venue’s potential. The primary reason for this review, however, is the New Year’s Eve dinner and its overall execution, which was extremely poor and far below acceptable standards. At a price of €304 per person, expectations are understandably high. Unfortunately, the experience was substandard from start to finish. The food was largely diabolical, poorly conceived, and badly executed. The only course that was remotely edible was the pasta—and even that was something one could easily cook at home, certainly not restaurant-level, let alone worthy of the price charged. The dessert deserves special mention—for all the wrong reasons. A chocolate cake infused and wrapped in meringue was not only badly prepared but carried a very unpleasant flavour of raw egg white, combined with an acidic aftertaste. I genuinely had to ask myself who thought this was a good idea. In my professional opinion, meringue should be paired with or served alongside fruit-based components, not wrapped around a cake—especially not in such a poorly executed form. Breaking down some of the dishes: • Canapés: Half were inedible. The battered cod and salmon were acceptable, but the zucchini had no seasoning and no flavour whatsoever. The raw shrimp tasted old and lacked freshness, and the combination with cold stracciatella cream was frankly unpleasant—so much so that it felt like a dish served after being regurgitated rather than thoughtfully plated. • Primi: The steamed lobster and calamari salad was overcooked, with a rubbery texture that ruined what should have been a highlight. • Pasta: As mentioned, this was the only course that was reasonably okay. • Main course: The fillet with lentils raised immediate questions. Why this combination? The fillet was overcooked and literally swimming in watery lentils, completely lacking balance, technique, or appeal. The wine offering was equally forgettable—both red and white—with nothing worth discussing. The sparkling wine list is particularly overpriced and poorly curated. Charging €120 for Veuve Clicquot Yellow Label, one of the most overproduced and least interesting champagnes at that price point, is disappointing when there are so many excellent alternatives available. Even more puzzling is the absence of a proper Prosecco selection, especially considering this is the country of origin and offers exceptional quality options. In conclusion, the Grand Hotel Oriente falls far short of its name and pricing. There is a clear lack of vision, modern hospitality standards, and attention to detail—particularly in food and beverage. With significant updates and a rethinking of its culinary and guest experience approach, the hotel could improve, but in its current state, it does not deliver value, quality, or the “grand” experience it promises. However a shout out to some of the teams who are friendly, professional and welcoming- sorry cannot remember all the names but Jessica stood out for me the most although she did not work on the NYE she is attentive, and welcoming and deliver a friendly attitude to guests as observed. FYI, when a guest took the courtesy to return back an untouched who plate of food and comments that the whole finish is not right and feels unfresh - don’t tell the guests it’s a lie! Sorry to have to Mention your name F——- this is not the best approach… Even though you are charming and funny but there is a middle line when experience are not met from the guests POV.

• Barbara (6/5): Due notti a Napoli - Cordialità dello staff. Posizione nelle immediate vicinanze di Via Toledo e della fermata del metro, in una zona molto servita da bar, ristoranti e negozi. Letto ampio e comodo. Cuscini confortevoli. Bagno spazioso. Camera silenziosa che si affacciava su un cortile interno. Camera molto piccola (non c'era quasi lo spazio per aprire le valigie) e sporca, tavolo e comodini ricoperti da uno strato di polvere e dalle ditate degli ospiti precedenti. Riscaldamento eccessivo (ma controllabile autonomamente). . Abbiamo provato a fare colazione verso le 9.25 del mattino. Tutti i tavoli erano sporchi e il cameriere non si è preoccupato di pulircene uno. Il buffet era sfornito. Abbiamo optato per fare colazione in un bar. Scarso rapporto qualità prezzo.
