• Wanderer23884237019 (10/5): Discovering the History and Culture of Istanbul - This is a small and cozy hotel located in the Old Town surrounded by several local restaurants. From the hotel it is a leisurely 15 minutes walk to some of the main attractions such as the Hagia Sofia, the Topkapi Palace and the Blue Mosque. One can also use the tram to reach these locations. The rooms are comfortable and clean. The breakfast area is located on the roof top with a view of the Sea of Marmara and a delicious breakfast is served. The hotel personnel is very polite and helpful to the customer’s needs. Highly recommended.
• NorthStar60826752616 (10/5): A Hidden Gem of Istanbul. - The Niles Hotel is a hidden gem in Istanbul. The hotel staff is very attentive and cordial. The room rates are very reasonable for the quality that you get. The rooms, as well as all areas of the hotel, are kept very neat and clean. The hotel is strategically located close to the main touristic sites. The tram station is located two blocks from the hotel, where one can access a good number of the main touristic sites of Istanbul. Additionally, there are many currency exchange locations near the hotel, as well as restaurants and stores. The Grand Bazaar is just a four minute walk from the hotel. Breakfast is served in the upper floor of the hotel, including in the terraced area which has nice views. Breakfasts are included in all room rates and are wonderful. The decor of the lobby area is quite lovely, with multiple objects from old Istanbul. I have stayed several times at this hotel while in Istanbul, and I recommended highly.
• Gavwooll (10/5): Exceptional stay - This was our second stay Hotel Niles and it was as good/if not better than our first experience. The Location is perfect for exploring Istanbul with a short walk to The Grand Bazaar, and a comfortable walk to the Haga Sofia. For those that don't want to walk, there is a tram station literally 'up the road'. The Hotel is close enough to everything without being in the busy hustle of the tourist areas. The Hotel is family run and it shows in the attention to detail and service that is provided. Nothing was too much trouble to make our stay enjoyable, with daily suggestions and recommendations. The rooms are comfortable, clean and serviced daily. There is a lovely rooftop breakfast room/cafe with great views over the rooftops and towards the sea where we were greeted daily by management and friendly staff. We also had an amazing walking tour through 'less touristy' areas with the manager, Ozan Duyar, with great information and insights along the way (and a special coffee stop which we would never have found!) We will be back and would not stay anywhere else in Istanbul!

• 461jennw (10/5): Charming hotel in great location - Lovely hotel with cozy lobby area and a charming rooftop breakfast area with a view of the water. The staff was very welcoming and also helpful with airport transportation and connecting us with our hotel in another town. The room was quiet, comfortable, and clean. Breakfast was delicious and had enough variety so we did not tire of them during our 5 nights there. Location was perfect and safe. Another thing I really appreciated was the choice of music played in the breakfast room. Old jazz standards by incredible musicians-not too loud but enough to add to the charming atmosphere.
• JaneMUK (10/5): Fabulous hotel in the old town, a real gem - Fabulous find in the Old City less than 15 minutes walk to the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia. The hotel is old fashioned but the rooms and public areas are spotless. The staff are super friendly and welcoming, especially the manager Ozan who speaks excellent English. The breakfast is plentiful with lots of choice, with some amazing homemade cakes. This is such a lovely find and I highly recommend it. Great views from the rooftop bar. If you are a light sleeper you may need earplugs when the call to prayer goes out in the morning, but I soon got back to sleep. I’d definitely return.

The hotel is very central, only one tram stop from Hagia Sophia and the Blue Mosque, and in the middle of the old city. The rooms, and hotel, are very comfortable, with a wonderfully old-world feel. Location is perfect for any tourist. 3 minutes walk to the tram stop, 3 minutes to the grand bazaar and 10 minutes for the palace and blue mosque. The hotel has all the original charm with a relaxed atmosphere. The roof top terrace gives you spectacular views over the sea. Considering it is in a busy area with shops, it is very peaceful. Great value for money. Everything is so clean, fresh towels daily and not a bit of dust anywhere. The 24 hour bar on the roof top is great and someone always in to help you.. Breakfast is basic but I did have a freshly cooked omelette which was lovely. STaff, what can I say. Management, front desk, cleaners and bar staff are all so lovely, friendly and welcoming. I will definitely be back.

The decor is great and we really enjoyed the lobby and first floor common area. All the staff treated us so well including providing great recommendations. Part way through our stay, we got a room upgrade as well. The daily breakfast was a nice mix of local foods and familiar staples. We loved eating the simit and pekmez/tahini mix. The location is great with a minute walk to the T1 tram line. The view every morning of the sea on the 5th floor terrace was worth the trip alone.

The hotel has a lovely atmosphere, with beautiful/historical finishings while still having modern amenities. It is located in walking distance to all the main tourist sites in Istanbul. The room was clean, quiet and high-value for the price. The breakfast was lovely and the food/drinks were amazing. The upstairs/rooftop terrace was surreal to sit with a glass of wine and enjoy the rooftop views. Would definitely stay there again!

I went with my husband and we received a warm welcome from the receptionist, Ege who introduced us to the warm Turkish Apple tea, very refreshing. The entire staff and crew were awesome from the Manager, Ozan, to our lady who served us breakfast every morning. Everyone was a delight like the Turkish delights they served. The hotel is centrally located right in hearts of some of the main attractions Istanbul has to offer. We will definitely visit Istanbul and the Hotel will be our place to stay. The breakfast in the beautiful rooftop restaurant is wonderful. And the location of the hotel is perfect — many restaurants within a few blocks, easy walking distance to the Blue Mosque, the Basilica Cistern and the Grand Bizarre, and the just two blocks to the tram that can take you pretty much anywhere.

Great location ,close to all the old town main attractions and with a nearby tram station. Clean and comfortable rooms, delicious breakfast served on the rooftop terrace. The decor reminded us of our time on the Nile Cruise. The hotel staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. The room was large and comfortable full of amenities. And the breakfast was amazing! I cannot recommend staying here enough!
• 547terrybur (10/5): Christmas Trip - Spent 3 nights at hotel,had a standard room was small but fully equipped ,free wifi was good, room had safe for valuables and (TV not used) bathroom was fine plenty of hot water for shower. Sleeping was undisturbed as not much noise outside Room had air conditioning, was cleaned every day, had tea and coffee and a bottle of water, fresh water was available from reception and in the breakfast area on the roof top terace Breakfast was continental, I had scrambled eggs and French bread, there was a earn of fresh coffie. Staff were very good and spoke very good English ( a lot better than my poor Turkish I have no complaints about hotel and would happily stop again .

Located walking distance from the Grand Bazar and Hagia Sophia Grand Mosque with a multitude of eateries of which I would suggest Garden 1897 Restaurant. A real step back into history. Only regret was the break was not long enough to truely experince Istanbul.

• johncolucci (10/5): I would highly recommend staying here without any reservations. - From the welcome tea and Turkish delight to the attentive staff and beautiful room and view—this place is a must stay. We were warmly welcomed, checked-in on, and given perfect recommendations for sites to see and places to eat. They even offer to set up a shuttle to and from the airport. The front desk staff was quick to respond to a broken shower head as well as take the time to talk about our experiences out and about. Each morning there is a tasty breakfast included of Turkish fare. The balcony on the top floor overlooks the water and boats waiting to enter the strait—it really is a dreamscape to start your day. On top of that, the bar is open 24-hours and the staff is exceptionally friendly. The location is ideal as you are close enough to walk to major sites like the Grand Bazaar or Blue Mosque and Haga Sofia (and the cistern!). This setting also makes it simple to catch the train by Istanbul University to explore other neighborhoods like Karakoy or a ferry to see how this enormous city spans two continents. If you aren’t feeling adventurous, there are also many restaurants and shops within a block. It was sad to leave our well—appointed suite, but while sitting in the cool lobby (designed in the style of an Ottoman-era tea-room!) we definitely knew we’d have to return and recommend this place to family and friends.
• Safari47769395271 (10/5): Amazing stay in Historic Center - Amazing Ottoman era lounge welcomes you upon arrival with a Turkish tea and a small treat. The hotel is beautiful! Staff is friendly and give recommendations for your stay. Breakfast on the rooftop offers views of the city and water! You can spend time exploring the hotel just as much as the city. It’s located very near the train for ease of access to sites around the city. Very cool rooms as well. Highly recommend this hotel!

Breakfast is served at the hotel rooftop terrace with a beautiful sea view. Local delights are on offer and there are informative signs explaining what you eat. The hotel is located at the heart of the old town with all main sights within walking distance, but in a quiet street allowing for uninterrupted sleep. There are plenty of restaurants in the vicinity, serving delicious local food, and easy access to public transportation should you wish to venture further afield.

• jpilling2016 (10/5): Turkish delight! - This Hotel is in the perfect spot in Istanbul to be able to walk to all the attractions and is owned by a delightful family who welcomed us with open arms and a friendly smile (along with the apple tea and Turkish Delight). The Hotel is beautifully furnished and welcoming with comfortable well equipped rooms. Breakfast on the terrace was delightful and the selection of dishes was impressive. Although my wife and i walked everywhere the Hotel is close to the tram stop and there are plenty of good restaurants close by in the square and down cobbled streets. If we are ever back in Istanbul then this is where we will stay.

Tidy and interesting with great places to sit and relax. The atmosphere on the rooftop patio and dining was so nice. The food was excellent! Vegetarian breakfast that was so filling, fresh, and abundant. Nisa, gave me a recipe for some of her fabulous dishes. A large room with a huge shower that far exceeded my expectations. The hotel atmosphere is very traditional Turk, with an excellent breakfast of homebaked goods, (including cookies and breads), fresh fruits and vegetable salads, coffee and Turkish tea, juices, cereals, yoghurt, dried fruits and nuts, eggs, plus a daily change of another hot entree. Beds were firm with traditional european coverings, in a well sized room. The safe was well placed and easy to access. Our 4th floor room was quiet, even though on the hotel's main street. We loved to keep our windows open to hear the "Call to prayers" in the early morning. A great way to wake up. Be sure to book on line to get a great discount to already resonable prices. Claen rooms, atmospheric entrance, and clean dining area overlooking the ships in the harbor. The hotel is located in easy walking distance to the tram, Hagia Sophia, the Blue Mosque, and the Grand Bazaar. We thoroughly enjoyed our seven night stay. Kudos to the manager Ozan Duyar and his staff for creating a friendly and welcoming atmosphere.

We were upgraded to a Turkish suite, and it was very spacious. Everything was clean and shiny. This hotel is an incredible value. The hospitality was top notch. The moment we walked in the door we were greeted and our luggage was whisked off to our rooms to wait for us. We were offered hot tea and a sweet treat. Ozan was incredibly nice and took time to check us in and then tell us about the hotel offerings and the surrounding area. He was a great resource. The breakfast was vast and the afternoon patio where we had drinks entailed a stunning view in every direction. I can't say enough good things about this hotel. The owner even personally met us at our hired car to wish us well and safe trip home. 5-star service.

• Tina180318 (10/5): Great stay at the Niles Hotel - We had a brilliant stay at The Niles Hotel. Greeted by Ozan the hotel manager and the owner of the hotel was nice and very welcoming. Then presented with a delicious Turkish tea and a piece of Turkish delight was really nice too. The hotel is in a great location and everything is spotless. Our room was lovely and we appreciated the tea and coffee making facilities, plus a bottle of water and use of the refill stations in the hotel. Bathroom was good with a selection of toiletries. I prefer to sleep with the window open, but it was a bit noisy outside. However, window closed and much better. Good storage space and room safe. We really enjoyed breakfast, not a huge variety, but what there was, was absolutely delicious. It was really nice to try dishes I had never tasted. All the staff are extremely friendly and helpful, especially Ozan who helped us with a couple of queries. We wish we had booked the cookery demonstration, but ran out of time. Highly recommend staying at this hotel, you won't be disappointed.

This family run hotel is very friendly, with helpful staff and in a convenient location. It is close to major attractions like the Grand Bazaar, Blue Mosque and Haig Sophia, and has easy access to the tram system via which you can visit Karakoy on the other side of the Golden Horn or access ferries or boat trips. There is an excellent rooftop breakfast room and bar with views over the Bosphorus. I highly recommend this hotel

You can tell that the owner is proud of the Turkish cultural tradition, as well as its family owned history. The staffs are all super friendly, the guest room was comfortable; the rooftop terrace is stylish and comfortable for breakfast, or just simply to hang out. I only stayed for one night here, but will definitely come back for more if I ever return to Istanbul.

At check in we were served Turkish tea and small sweets which made us feel welcomed. The complementary breakfast is delicious and has good variety - even for picky eaters. The breakfast is served on the terrace with partial view of the Marmara Sea. We tried their homemade sample menu ( at additional cost) - very unique and refreshing. The hotel is located in ok neighborhood- within few blocks from the Grand Bazar, walking distance from the Blue Mosque, and public transportation which we found very reliable, but it could get loud at night around the hotel due to other hotels and restaurants. Overall, it was a great stay.

We found the location to be perfect walkable to the sites and area we were interested in. The bar staff could use some mixology instruction but that also comes with experience ( did not know how to make vodka martini or vodka soda on ice. ). Could also be just cultural thing. They also gave us little parting gift bag with breakfast cakes as we left for early airport departure. Management was great and went above and beyond to be helpful. We will stay again if and when in Istanbul.

There were eggs, salad, cheeses, fruit, yoghurt, cakes and toast with turkish tea and coffee.  Plenty to keep you going.  I felt really welcome here, like a house guest, not a hotel guest.  Will I come back? Yes, absolutely I will.

The hotel has all the necessary bathroom accessories, slippers, tea, water. The rooms are clean and cozy. A gorgeous breakfast terrace with sea views! Every single detail is perfectly thought out, from the mahogany desks in the reception to the silk wallpaper in the staircase. The staff are all absolutely lovely and so happy to help with whatever you need, we felt right at home. We booked the room with the turkish bath and it was stunning, very big and bright. The location is also perfect, no noise but walking distance to everything. The roof terrace is lovely too! All in all we had an amazing experience here and will for sure be coming back!

The hotel is conveniently located only a few minutes walk from the famous Bazaar market and lots of shops and restaurants. Tram nearby and easy walk to Old Town for other famous sites. The Hotel Niles is full of Turkish charm and a really nice rooftop restaurant with great views over buildings towards the sea. We had an enjoyable buffet breakfast every morning. Our double room had all the usual trappings of a 4 star hotel (air con, fridge, kettle with teas/coffee, comfy beds). The bathroom had good water pressure and temperature controls and plenty of soap/gels replenished each day. The staff members were always helpful and friendly. I would highly recommend this hotel for a pleasant stay in Istanbul.

Stayed for 4 nights.

The charm and character of the hotel and rooms are beautifully designed, and enhance the old world theme of the location of the hotel in the oldest area of Istanbul. The staff is helpful and kind. If your budget allows, reserve a room with the hamman spa , it’s a wonderful Turkish experience. Breakfast is included and serves on the lovely rooftop terrace. We walked to the popular attractions from the hotel; no taxi needed. I’m thankful a friend recommended Hotel Nile for our stay. I hope to return one day, and I definitely recommend it to others!
• rebeccagM7218QM (10/5): Affordable luxury near everything - Not to be missed- A hidden gem tucked back off the main road, short walk to so many great attractions. This was my second stay at this expertly run family business, and both have been great. Breakfast is tasty and filling with good (drip, not instant!) coffee at reasonable hours, 8-10:30 am, with a rooftop view over the city and the Bosphorus. This is possibly the cleanest hotel I've ever stayed in, both visits, and that's saying a lot, as I travel plenty for work. The building and rooms are decorated in an early 20th century, late-Ottoman/early Art Deco style that I love. The junior suites with built-in mini-hamam are a fabulous way to get an affordable but luxurious, traditional experience in a much more private setting. The service is friendly and excellent.

They helped answer questions about the city, picked us up from the airport (with an additional fee), helped arrange for a taxi at the end of our stay, and provided a very prompt & affordable laundry service. The breakfast was spectacular with a large variety of foods and beverages. The hotel also provides filtered water stations in multiple locations so we could fill up our water bottles, which is critical since the tap water in Turkey is not really safe to drink for Americans. I highly recommend this hotel.

• PNWLinden (10/5): Great location & amazing staff! - My sister & I spent 3 days in Istanbul after an epic road trip around Turkey. We wanted a hotel close to the historical sights & Hotel Niles fit the criteria. It’s a little tough getting to if you’re not arriving/departing by taxi or airport vans as the surrounding streets are closed to general traffic until 21:00. Our friends dropped us off, so we dragged our bags quite a distance. However…once we arrived at Hotel Niles, we were greeted with cold water, hot apple tea, and a lokum (Turkish Delight). It was a lovely start to our visit after a rough hike. The hotel itself is really 2 adjacent buildings, connected on the first & top floors. We stayed on the 5th floor in a standard room away from the elevator. The room was clean & comfortable, but the building is old (a.k.a. charming) so the walls are thin. Plan on bringing earplugs in case the neighbors decide to get up at 4 a.m. to debate the merits of a day trip to Ephesus 😎. We loved the staff (every one we met was amazing), the lovely rooftop terrace where we enjoyed the breakfast buffet & a glass of wine in the evening, and the proximity to the tram, wonderful restaurants, and historical sights.
