Guest Reviews
- Nicolas (6/5): - There’s an Irish pub that young American tourists go to right underneath our room, and it’s quite common to hear orchestras playing in the center across from the hotel. Unless you plan on staying up till 2 am or are a deep sleeper I would choose another location if you need to do morning activities
- Megan (10/5): - Our stay was wonderful! The staff was very accommodating and attentive. They set out a great breakfast each morning with fresh fruit, meat, eggs, etc. The vibe was also beautiful with several lounge areas to hang out in. The rooms were also clean and roomy.
- Daniel (10/5): - Everything about this hotel was perfect. The view from the room, the location near the Uffizi and the Duomo, the decor, the staff & the breakfast were all amazing. Could not ask for a better experience in Florence.
- vito (8/5): - Very nice but noisy
- Logan (10/5): Lovely Boutique Hotel - Great Location - Beautiful, well appointed boutique hotel. Amazing shower and comfortable bedding. Entrance is difficult to find.
- Natalie (6/5): - Great location, and spot.
- Maisie (6/5): - Room and staff were great. Continental breakfast had everything you could want. Despite the room being beautiful the noise from the leather market was very loud. Set up started at 3:30am and we could not sleep. We followed all instruction from the staff (keeping windows, shutters and blinds shut) but still found it difficult to sleep with the noise.
- Cameo (8/5): - My room smelled horrible and the Irish pub downstairs kept my family up all night. We were there for just a couple nights, so didn’t say anything about the smell.
- Karolina (10/5): - Great location, beautiful boutique b&b
- michelle (10/5): - Loved the unique rooms felt like a private villa with all of the common areas and windows overlooking the streets beautifully decorated centrally located to everything- wonderful breakfast every day and espresso machine for the guests available all the time. Would highly recommend.
- Lisa (10/5): - As of check in and check out. Great location making it easy to get around to all major attractions. Great facilities and good size rooms. Unique breakfast room added to the stay.
- Catherine (10/5): - Porcellino Gallery B&B is a funky hotel within easy walking distance of everything. Kay
- Leoma (10/5): - We were able to walk every where from our hotel, just a two minute walk to the Uffizi gallery, Arno River and famous Ponte Vecchio Bridge. Buffet breakfast every morning was great way to start the day.
- Iris (10/5): Amazing location - Lovely place. Nice areas to relax outside of your room. Lots of personality. As the reviews state, 2 stories up with luggage and loud bar below depending on your room location. Amazing location.
- Brent (10/5): A quick night in Florence! - The location is terrific with a short quick walk away from the Uffizi, the room lovely, bed comfortable, and shower string and hot… what’s not to like?
- Chelsea (10/5): - This property was in the best location! The rooms were unique and spacious. The staff was amazing(hauled our luggage up the stairs for us) and made a delicious breakfast. I would love to visit again.
- Anne (6/5): - Very well located. Very good breakfast. Room needed maintenance. Sink didn’t drain, low hot water, internet intermittent.
- Garni (10/5): - Absolutely loved my stay here! Check-in was quick and simple, and our room was lovely and clean. The bed was comfortable and the complimentary water bottles daily were very much appreciated. We were close to all the major sites we wanted to visit and in the heart of the city. I would definitely stay here again during my next trip to Florence. Would highly recommend!
- Evelyn (10/5): - The staff was wonderful and helpful. Great location, a short walk to train station. Rooms are very cute and difference. My second time here
- Wanda (8/5): - We were happy and satisfied with our stay. Our only complaint is out tub and shower was in the room and not in the bathroom. The decor is on the odd side. The service was excellent. The breakfast was wonderful. The manager Joselito was so attentive. You do need to be able to walk up three flights of stairs. We would stay here again.
- Jennifer (10/5): - Great location
- Deborah (6/5): Very noisy area - Extremely noisy surroundings. Above an Irish bar and loud people in the street and square at the front until 230am then the market traders start setting up in the square from 6am. 4 flights of stairs to access the hotel, although more of a B&B. Excellent location.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Don’t stay here if you want to sleep - The location of this hotel is fabulous. BUT, very noisy late into the night/early morning from bars surrounding the hotel and then it starts again very early with the market traders wheeling stalls out to set up every morning. Would recommend travelling with earplugs.
Breakfast seems to be a communal experience with one long table that seats eight. Great if you are with chatty people but awkward if not.
Breakfast fare looks limited but we didn’t go hungry. Coffee was great just not free flowing, could have done with quicker and more frequent offers to make coffee.
- Obed (10/5): - Nice place
- Carl (8/5): Beware Market setting up at 4am - The location was great , the decor was super and the breakfast was good. The one drawback which is not widely mentioned which is an issue is that the square outside the hotel is a market which is taken down each night, and then buskers play at night. The problem is that they then set the market up from scratch starting at 4 am, so the chances of sleeping (with the shouting and banging) is zero.
- Sandy (10/5): - Great boutique hotel in Florence. Quiet rooms.
- Kimberly (10/5): Highly recommend - Brilliant hotel/B&B. Friendly staff & attentive service
- Horacio (10/5): 10/10 - Great hotel. Amazing vibe. Unbeatable location
- colleen (10/5): - Lovely boutique hotel in the heart of everything to see and do. I felt very safe there as a single traveler. Staff are so nice and accommodating. I highly recommend!
- Joanna (10/5): - A beautiful boutique hotel right in the centre. No noise at night. The man who greeted us and looked after us during our stay was very helpful. Lovely breakfast and a nice comfortable bed. My only criticism is that the shower was at a very low pressure.
- Carol (10/5): Best hotel in my favourite city - This is a stunning hotel right in the heart of the city, nothing is more than a gentle 10 min stroll away. The staff are excellent and great at communicating before you arrive. The decor is beautiful, at times its like staying in one of the palaces you visit. Only negative is that you are in the heart of a city and it gets VERY noisy at night but some white noise played on our mobile solved that problem. If I could I would give it 11/10.
- Charlie (6/5): Compromise between location and good sleep - Super central BUT… very LOUD neighbourhood (directly above the Irish Pub…). Don’t expect to sleep before 2am on a student’s night…
- Carmela (10/5): - This is a nice little cozy bread and breakfast place with great location. Service is excellent and the interior is very beautiful. The only draw back it has no elevator but it's only one floor up. There's no concierge 24/7 but they are pretty responsive beyond office hours. Staff are pretty generous with their time and very helpful.
- Chanette (10/5): - Overall, it's a beautiful place to stay. Great location. Lovely building.
The included breakfast has plenty of options.
The only downside was that the Wi-Fi was weak in the rooms but worked well in the lobby.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Birthday Bash - Quirky B & B in a fabulous location. Staff were helpful and friendly. Good shower and comfy bed and pillows. Continental breakfast pretty much as one would expect. Although there aren’t any tea and colder facilities in the room there is a well stocked tea/coffee making area and 2 comfortable lounge/seating areas.
Room overlooked the market square, which meant early morning and late night noise. Although this meant early morning an unrequited wake up calls it did little to detract from our enjoyment of this B & B.
We certainly stay there again if we returned to Florence.
- Mariza (10/5): - This place is a fairytale! Is in the heart of Florence . I was impressed from the kindness of the staff. Staying there is like sleeping in a museum you feel you are in series of Medici . We had an amazing breakfast and stunning views of Firenze in all the windows . Thank you for existing! Saluti from New York City !
- Miss RM (10/5): - Such a beautiful, cute and cosy hotel in a great location.
- Luke (10/5): Original and stylish art gallery hotel. - Really beautiful building in the heart of the old town. Very tastefully and originally decorated and furnished. Lovely little corners to hang out in . Complementary drinks, really beautiful rooms, friendly and helpful lady on reception.
- Glenn (10/5): - Host was great, the location can't be beat. Right behind the leather market next to Il porcillino, the statue of the boar. It's a very busy area, close to everything. At night there are events held in the square, so it can be noisy but the all ended by 12. Close the window blinds and curtains and you can't hear much.Breakfast was great, coffee and wine available to drink. Would definitely recommend.
- Sidney (10/5): - We love love loved this property to stay at in Florence. It was conveniently located near everything which made everything easily walkable. The staff was friendly and helpful, our room was large and comfortable. The hotel is super unique and adorable. Would absolutely recommend to anyone!!
- Robert (8/5): - It's in a great location in the central city, convenient and walkable. The property is decorated very boho, artsy and interesting. The common areas provide a lot of comfortable room. The staff was engaging and very helpful - particularly with handling delivery of our lost luggage so we didn't need to waste time waiting around for it. The room was quiet for sleeping.
Didn't like the lack of counter area around the bathroom sink.
- Nancy (10/5): - The hotel itself is amazing to view, love the decor, breakfast was super yummy! Other than not having an elevator, everything is else is great! The location is very close to alot of the major sites! Will definitely come back and recommend this hotel!
- Christopher (10/5): Another Great Stay - This was my second stay here. This was such a great find in 2017, I had to go back and it again did not disappoint. The marketplace is below and a few restaurants and bars, so there may be some limited noise. This such a unique space. The breakfast in the morning is fantastic.
- Deborah (8/5): - This property was charming as it’s very artsy and is close to all the happening things!
It wasn’t always attended but was able to get the breakfast attendant to order a cab for my departure. There is no lift so hauling luggage up was a challenge. All in all though it was a very authentic Italian vibe and I enjoyed it very much.
- Paul (10/5): - We loved staying at this unique B&B!
Porcelinno Gallery is a special place located in a vibrant central area. Super convenient to high-end shopping stores and local merchants with special finds. Walking distance to museums and great restaurants. The breakfast was the best spread and a wonderful surprise our first morning. It is a very welcoming place, where you feel right at home and cared for. Thank you to the fantastic staff for making our stay in Florence unforgettable!
- Andrew (8/5): - Lovely property and in a great location ..
- Joe (10/5): - We felt like home the sraff are super kind. Place is so clean . Close to the train station and all other attractions. This place is worthy of an award . Expedia great pick. Thanks
- Delsaz (10/5): - Great location and very clean rooms
- Carol (10/5): - We greatly enjoyed our stay. Great location, friendly staff, excellent space, great decor. Highly recommend!
- Florita Castillo (10/5): - It was in the middle of everything I wanted to go see and experience - staff was exceptional ! Would definitely return !
- Edward (10/5): - Great hotel and central location
- Marisa (8/5): - Was a great stay. Hotel is gorgeous. Staff was very friendly. Just didn't like that there was no elevator and A/C wasn't able to go very low, during heat wave.
- Sarah (10/5): - Stayed 3 nights. Cleaned room daily. Shower was big for Italy. Very close to good food and shopping. Would definitely recommend.
- Eden (10/5): - The room was clean. The hotel is located nearby shops. It’s clean and convenient
- Julie (10/5): - Excellent place to stay right on the leather market Square.
- Paul (10/5): My stay in Florence. - Outstanding place to stay. In the middle of everything you want to see. The rooms are spacious and nicely decorated. Very quaint B&B. Nice areas to sit for breakfast and complementary drinks in the evening. Beautiful place to stay with a very friendly staff.
- Sarah (10/5): - very convenient location, loved the rooms, extra friendly and accommodating staff and breakfast was fantastic! Nothing negative to review!
- Lynn (10/5): - Great place!
- sarah (10/5): - Wonderful location
Beautiful inside
- Ann (10/5): - This property was ideally situated to explore Florence. There are lots of excellent places to eat within walking distance. The staff were curtious and approachable.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The location, service , and breakfast was great. However, the room smelled liked mildew so they tried to cover up smell with a very strong floral incense smell.
- Kim (6/5): - We stayed for one night and thankfully that was all! The leather market was so loud setting up at the crack of dawn. The location was great but would’ve preferred less noise somewhere else.
- Shruti (10/5): - Nice bed & breakfast with a great breakfast spread. Staff was kind and enabled an early check in. Location was excellent and walking distance to all tourist locations. Would highly recommend it.
- Alain (8/5): - This is not really a hotel so much is a bed-and-breakfast. There was a gentleman who greeted us when we checked in and helped us with our luggage, but you don’t really see anyone even other guests during the time that you were there. This may be appealing to some, but if ever you needed anything during the evening, you’re not going to get it. The hotel is located next to an outdoor leather market, and it’s pretty central however certain basic amenities are lacking. My wife had to use noise cancelling headphones because of the noise outside. They do clean the rooms well, and they provide you with bottles of water, which is a nice addition. However, one can’t help but get the feeling that one is completely isolated. If a bed-and-breakfast is your thing then this is the place for you, if you want Support staff for whatever needs you may have you’re not going to find it. The breakfast was included, was relatively Spartan, but was a decent quality. The bathrooms weren’t the best, but as I mentioned, it was clean and well kept. Don’t know if I would stay there again, but I wouldn’t rule it out.
- Wendy (10/5): - Great location very walkable. Friendly staff. A nice breakfast.
- Jillian (10/5): - Everything was wonderful
- Lori (10/5): - Claudia and Joselito were amazing! We absolutely loved it here. We enjoyed A Delicious breakfast.
- Santo (8/5): - With in 10 minute walk to most attractions
- Karim (8/5): - Great location. Unique rooms. Very nice staff. Some noise from streets. Needs better mattresses.
- Anthony G (8/5): - Great place with a lot of character and sophisticated furnishings, art and antiques. We wished the staff on site were up to that level, which was definitely not the case. The location is great but night life just below goes on till very late and generates a lot of noise. Overall, we won't go back there.
- Julia (10/5): Excellent Hotel - My husband and I returned after ten years to stay in the same room. The first time was for our honeymoon and the second, for our tenth anniversary. We love this spot, and will be back again!
- Gregory (10/5): - Lovely, spacious room. Very clean. Insanely great location.
4 minutes walk to Uffizi.
- Erika (8/5): - Everything in the property is great, but the area is noisy be prepared.
- Elmer (4/5): - Unable to sleep. Lost a tour to Pisa due to only 3 hrs of noise free time
- David (10/5): Friendly staff in a unique hotel - Friendly staff in a unique hotel. A great location to walk to all attractions. The breakfast, coffee, tea and Limoncello available were wonderful. Perfect for younger people as it can be a little loud outside due to being in the middle of the neighborhoods. Room set up being two flights up may not be suitable for older couples.
- Diana (10/5): Gem in downtown Florence - I was able to communicate real well with Claudi for ease of check in through WhatsApp. This place is very cozy and it’s in the heart of downtown, súper accesible to Piazza di la Signoria…leather market right next to it and great restaurants all around.
If you are ok with a little noise at night, people walk around there and there are bars at night with live music… breakfast was very complete and the building is very historic and elegant… you will feel right at home.
- Anna (10/5): - It is a quiet place with a very good and sufficient breakfast. Amazing location.
- Mary (10/5): - Great area. Centrally located to everything!
Really cute little hotel. Staff was friendly and very helpful with info of area , directions. And how to get to airport at 4 am!
- David (6/5): Pretty good stay - The location in the city center was great but the accommodations didn’t justify the cost so we felt it was average overall.
- Karin (10/5): Perfect place to stay in Florence - The location is perfect, close to everything but without the noise of the city center; You are 5 minutes from everything and you are surrounded by great restaurants as well as large brand stores.
- Pamela (10/5): - Of the seven hotels we stayed at, this was our favorite. It was clean, cozy, breakfast was great and staff was friendly. One thing to note is that the area gets loud at night because of the piazza and the hotel rooms are on the third floor and there’s no elevators.
- Kiera (10/5): - Beautiful property!! Loved the art decor! Great location for restaurants, sight seeing and shopping. Close to the train terminal. Highly recommend!!!
- Douglas G (8/5): - If they could put in a lift it would be 5 stars. You have to walk up 3 flights of stairs that are very hard on legs and with luggage
- Nicole (10/5): - Excellent property. Well maintained, clean, great location and breakfast was good. Prepare for noise throughout the night/morning from the plaza in front of the hotel but overall was a lovely stay. Would recommend.
- Jennifer (8/5): - This charming hotel is perfectly located in the city. It sits behind a plaza with open air vendors. The staff are friendly and breakfast was good . It can get loud in the early morning as vendors set up their stands at the market- nothing double paned windows couldn’t fix. One room had little ambient light, but it is very charming and would definitely go back.
- Kurt (8/5): - Excellent location right between Piazza della Signoria and Ponte Vecchio.
- Lorelis (10/5): - Amazing, minutes from everything. Room was great! No issues.
- Ann (10/5): - The property was an old, charming gallery with lots of style. To bad it didn’t have a lift. We had to carry our luggage all the way upstairs.
- Leigh (6/5): - The hotel was beautiful but we didn’t have blanket or cover for bed, just a top sheet. No body lotion, amenities weak supply. excellent coffee in the morning. Jose was great
- Michael (6/5): - Location is outstanding, within 3-15 minutes to major attractions.
- Franklin (8/5): - Great area, lovely breakfast each morning, charming place. BUT the bed in room 6 was a crater and needs replaced. It was not firm enough.
- Chris (8/5): - The location is the best part about this accom. Its right in the center, although thay means it can be loud at night.
The room was great, the biggest problem i had was the freestanding tub/shower. it offered little to non privacy, the shower curtain slides through the bath meaning it would get wet if you used it and it was made from linen. Just a weird choice.
But overall room was good and staff were helpful.
- Consuelo (8/5): - We loved the location and the staff but we did not like the fact there was no elevator.
- Terri (10/5): - The staff was very nice. One of the associates even carrried my suitcase up the 40 stairs to the lobby when he saw us approach the hotel. Our king bed was great and we loved the decor. It was fun shopping for leather just steps away. The free breakfast was outstanding and the options to sit at a large shared table with others was fun. We appreciated making our own coffee in the coffee bar. We enjoyed our stay and would stay here again especially if using the train station.
- Rosanne (8/5): - Convenient! Porcellino Gallery is in the middle of all the attraction sites we had on our itinerary. There are many great food options in the area as well.
Please note, the rooms are on the third floor and there are no elevators. However, staff are very kind and helpful and carried our luggages for us.
Leading up to my trip, I needed to contact Porcellino Gallery for some inquiries. Although they don't have a 24/7 desk, they were quick to respond by phone or email.
Porcellino Gallery faces in front of the public market, Mercato del Porcellino. It can get loud in the morning if you're hoping to sleep in (my friend and I quite enjoyed it though). A great experience was hearing the violinist play at the market in the evening and we can hear her playing through our window.
Only cons:
- The rooms are very dim. Ladies, if you need good lighting to do your makeup, this is may not be the place for you.
- Hard to get a taxi! We checked out and needed to grab a taxi to take us to the train station. We were told by staff to walk over to Piazza della Repubblica to hail for a cab (about 3 minutes of a walk). At least 10 taxi drivers drove pass us and turned many people away (including us!). We eventually gave up and carried our luggages and walked over to the station.
- Colleen (2/5): - Worst hotel I’ve ever stayed at. Weird decorations and creepy vibe. Our room had a terrible smell (musty and moldy smelling) so we had to sleep with the window open. The location is central but right outside is VERY noisy starting before 5am when the leather stands start setting up. WiFi did not work at all. Bathroom was disgusting and not as pictured. Strange employees that aren’t helpful. Next time I’ll spend the extra $ to stay somewhere nicer.
- Junyao (10/5): - Nice location
- larry (8/5): - Location is excellent, room is small, but rooms in Italy are, breakfast is very good, street music after dark is very cool! A little hard to find, pay attention to to door signs, that will help
- Clarence (6/5): Clarence - The hotel was difficult to find, and pre instructions advices to call ahead. I did that, but it didn’t help. When we found the hotel, it was difficult to access the hotel. There were many flights of stairs to climb to get to the room. He did help us carry the luggage up, but no help getting the luggage down when we left. The room was vey nice, clean with plenty of space. I also felt secure at the hotel. The location was right where the markets are set up everyday, so it wasn’t comfortable coming and going, to much congestion at the steps of the hotel. The room itself was quiet. The breakfast was good though. Many nice restaurants in the area.
