Guest Reviews

Personāls 100 no 10!!! Laipnība, izpalīdzība! Viesnīcas šarms no arienes un iekšas superīgs. Jutāmies īpaši gaidīti viesi. Brokastis ar perfektu skatu. Ieteiktu arī draugiem. Broksatīs varētu būt vairāk augļu, bet tas tāds sīkums. VISS BIJA LABI! Pietrūka apavu lāpstiņa.
- Dragoljub (9/5): Perfekt - Lage absolut einmalig direkt neben der Haga Sophia in der Alt-Stadt Europäischer Teil morgens Muezzin-Ruf um 5.00h - muss man mögen
- Jocelyn (6/5): -
- Rita (9/5): Pleo - Location is good and the staff are excellent specially Rambo
- Laura (10/5): Maravillosa estancia - Todo maravilloso, ubicación, vistas, personal... Nada
- nakib (10/5): Great staff. Amazingly location - Location was amazing. The vibes and the building was very aesthetically pleasing. The breakfast hit the spot. And the staff was unfortunately kind and sweet. Special shout out to Ramazan who was an absolute sweetheart. It was perfect

- Lorraine (10/5): - Very friendly and helpful staff made recommendations on where to go, nothing was a problem for them. Very well run hotel and the area is perfect, sights within walking distance. Shops and restaurants all Very close by. A bit noisy, beds were hard yet I slept well.
- Lorenzo (9/5): Great hotel in the heart of Sultanahmet with super friendly staff - Friendliness of the staff and its location next to all best venues. In addition, I loved the terrace where breakfast was served. The room was a little bit small and there was no kettle to prepare tea.
- Aleksandra (10/5): - Very customer-oriented hotel staff. The breakfast is excellent, varied, with a beautiful view of the Bosphorus.
- Kathleen (10/5): A lovely quiet, affordable place to stay close to the sites with a family vibe and a lift. - My room overlooked the Topkapi palace. On the other side of the hotel you can see Hagia Sophia a block away. The breakfast is incredible. The view on one side is Hagia Sophia, on the other is Topkapi palace, and on the other is the Bosphorus!! Mezze of several cheeses, dips, pickles, fresh veges and fruits, continental cereal, yogurt, juices, scrambled eggs, yummy feta pastries not sure what they are called. So so good. hmm. nothing.
- Sally (10/5): We loved this hotel. Would recommend it. - Breakfast was wonderful. The views were outstanding. The staff were very helpful and accommodating. We could walk everywhere safely. Topkapi and three Sophia mosque were across the street. Lots of restaurants within walking distance. Room was a little warm and the bathroom was small.

- Faisal (1/5): Very bad - Only its proximaty to historical location. The rooms are not conformatable at all, looks very cheap! Very congested, no infrastructure, looks like cubicles only!
- Paolo (9/5): -
- JOSE OCTAVIO (9/5): -
- Laura S (8/5): Cozy, confortable stay. - Great location. Nice staff. Very clean. They were doing repair work just above us while we were there. The noise was early until late evening but we tolerated it.
- Julie (8/5): - Good location. Loved the breakfast and the view from the terrace. Room was very small and several things unfinished (door casings, threshold, etc). Would’ve been nice to have screens on the windows- I got a few mosquito bites at night…lovely and helpful staff.
- Ishtiak (10/5): - It’s very clean and great location
- Wong-See (8/5): - Breakfast on 4th floor a good selection and beautiful views on 4th floor. Lady who o served us so cheerful and helpful. Beds were comfy. Great location None
- jangV1215BJ (10/5): Elegant Stay in the Heart of Sultanameht - We picked this hotel on Rick Steve's advice, and we weren't disappointed. The family/staff were helpful and attentive. The breakfasts on the rooftop were wonderful. The rooms are small, but elegant and comfortable. Everything in good working order. It's a busy location, but the location is extremely convenient. We walked to Topkapi grounds, Blue Mosque, Spice Market and Grand Bazaar. It was quiet at night.
- Mary (10/5): - The location was outstanding. I enjoyed staying at a smaller hotel. The staff was helpful and friendly. Excellent breakfast. I would definitely stay there again, and have recommended it to friends.
- Julie (10/5): - This hotel went beyond my expectations. Amazing location, breakfast, service, etc.
- Humberto (10/5): - One of the best experiences. This is a family owned and managed place in a very convenient location. All the family staff are super attentive and made or stay memorable.
I definitely recomend this place to anyone visiting Istanbul.
- Barry (8/5): Good stay with reservations. - The hotel put me in a double room in the basement which I objected to and they were gracious enough to quickly move me upstairs. I have been here numerous times and never was housed in the basement where service staff congregate. You might want to check to make sure you’re above ground.
Breakfast was good but no one made omelettes like they have in the past.
- Henry (10/5): Historic Istanbul - A friendly and familiar welcome as always. Definitely my favourite hotel in Istanbul. Great views of Hagia Sofia from our window. Lovely breakfast and a very comfortable room. Just a shame the rooftop bar for residents wasn't in operation this time.
- RUBEN (10/5): - Very nice place, the staff is super friendly and they help you with any questions or needs related to you trip and options to visit in the area.
- Paula (9/5): -
- Florencia (9/5): - Really lovely hotel in a great location in the old part of town, just beside topkapi, sofia etc. It is very clean, has a good buffet breakfast, and the people working are really nice and helpful. I would definitely return there and recommend it.
- Luigi (10/5): - Posizione eccezionale, vicinissimo al Topkapi, moschea blu e Santa Sofia, tranquillo e pulito. Staff disponibile e gentile. Wifi debole, manca lo scopino in bagno
- Shannon (9/5): -
- Armand (10/5): - Very kind and friendly people, nice hotel and exceptional breakfast with a beautiful view.
- Magdalena (10/5): - Beautiful hotel. Delicious breakfast. Great, helpful and friendly staff. I would recommend this hotel to my family and friends.
- Nairne (10/5): - Hotel was spotless. Staff were extremely personable and welcoming.
- razzv (10/5): Amazing staff, location, and experience overall. - Amazing staff, incredibly helpful, friendly, dedicated, especially Ramazan.
Excellent location, right next to main attractions and with a nice sea view.
Nice room, clean and very well equipped.
Good breakfast, same thing every day, but delicious. It is described that the location has free parking, however there are only a few spots on the sidewalk in front of the hotel, and I received a fine for parking there(the fine is not big, it was probably still worth it considering the location, but still...)
- Yali (8/5): - The location is very convenient for visiting any landmark and train station. Even the room was small but the stuff services were very good and very nice. I am very appreciative for the stuff borrowed a metro card to me to take the public transactions and very helpful to guide me to visit the landmark.
- Delphine (8/5): Très bien placé - Très bien placé et bon rapport qualité prix. Très jolie vue au petit déjeuner
- Osaki (10/5): Strait and Castle, a good old-fashioned hotel in Istanbul Old town - Best location of Sultanahmet district, ideal for visiting Topkapi, Ayasofia and Blue Mosque by foot. From our room, we enjoyed a view of Ayasofia all night! Classic yet warm family-running atmosphere. We were touched by hospitality of old Ramazan and his family in three-generation. Also we loved the view from top floor of breakfast terrace, which was just amazing, facing Bosphorus strait and glittering Asia side. Just a taxi was a bit pricey, that we asked hotel to call when we left. It's a normal yellow cab and hotel's nothing to do with the taxi, though.
- Ayesha (10/5): - The staff were very kind hospitable and lovely it was such a great stay, I felt safe and it is local to everything! Loved this hotel and would only come back to this hotel!
- Eve (9/5): The location of the hotel is excellent, walking distance to the main attractions of Istanbul. - The location of the hotel is excellent, walking distance to the main attractions of Istanbul. It is also in a location with lots of restaurants to chose from. The breakfast was nicely presented with enough choices and a very friendly staff member who looked after us. The room could have been a little bigger.
- Emrah (2/5): Do not go here, total scam. - It was horrible. First no parking even though it says it has parking. We were charged extra for parking twice for 1 night lol. These people are straight liers and they argue to the end. Free breakfast wasn’t good but roof top is beautiful. Our air condition did not work and room was too small.
- Jon (9/5): Value and location make this an excellent destination. - Location in the Old City is unbeatable
Staff were obliging and helpful.
Would definitely recommend Room was small.
- Rose (10/5): Exceptional - Very quaint, clean and quiet. The staff and owner are all very kind. Ramzan was our favourite. He would greet us for breakfast even before we got off the elevator. Location is walking distance to every attraction. Views are amazing. Great restaurants within walking distance Nothing
- Aarty (10/5): - Great location and amazing staff! Would highly recommend.
- Vali (9/5): A wonderful experience in a city full of history - The hotel is in the city center, very close to Hagia Sophia and the Blue Mosque.
The staff was very kind, very helpful and gave us the best information.
The breakfast was very good, served on the top floor of the hotel and has an absolutely gorgeous view.
The room was a bit small, but that's how all the rooms are in the old hotels of Istanbul.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The workers were wonderful. They got us taxis when we needed them and were picked up on time. The room was nice and clean. The food was great and the waiter was kind to everyone. They went out of their way to make sure we had a great time.
- Kozhaya (2/5): - The room had so many issues, no working phones to contact room service, the bathroom had a small window that did not have a mosquito screen, and you can’t close it so we were fighting mosquitoes all night. And to top all this, the staff was so unprofessional in dealing or lack of with those problems.
- Seyit Hasan (10/5): - It is a beautifully renovated historic building. I believe it’s the closest hotel to Topkapi Palace and Hagia Sophia.
- Amina (10/5): - Great location. Beautiful property
- JordiMayor (10/5): Do not think twice... This is your choice !!! - The best place in Istanbul. It’s in an absolutely privileged location. Don’t expect a hotel with huge rooms or endless buffets — it’s simple and family-run, but its staff is incredibly attentive and friendly.
We’d especially like to send our regards to the person in charge of breakfast on the hotel’s terrace. Their professionalism and warmth make you feel completely at home. We’ve never felt so well looked after, with such genuine, personal attention.
Without a doubt, this would be our hotel if we ever return to Istanbul.
- Maurizio (9/5): Pleasant stay in friendly environment, absolutely ideal as starting point for Sultanahmet exploratio - Excellent position, very close to main monuments and with partial see view. Very family oriented and cordial management/staff. Glimpses of ottoman times. Little more variety in breakfast choice could be appreciated. Too much traffic of cars and taxis around the area ( so many hotels ), but windows were soundproof.
- Michel (10/5): - We had an excellent reception , all along, the room was small but very confortable, the location was excellent, we recommend strongly this hotel
- Sira (8/5): Very good - The location was perfect—just steps away from Topkapi Palace. The room was small but very comfortable and had views to the sea, and the shower was excellent. Breakfast was lovely too.
But what truly made the stay special was the staff. They were incredibly friendly and helpful—so much so that it felt like being with family. Warm, welcoming, and always ready to assist.
If we return to Istanbul, we’ll definitely come back here.
- Vanja (9/5): Great! - The location is top for all the historical things. It is right behind Topkapi and Hagia Sophia entrance, Blue Mosque is 5 min walking, tram is near and you can go to Galata Bridge Dolmahbahce. Staff is very kind and hard working people. The garden in front of the hotel is a little oasis and they will serve you free tea or coffee. Flowers beautiful with view of Topkapi palace walls. Breakfast is not like we are used in Italy but still it is ok. You will not stay hungry. They will even make fresh fried eggs for you if you ask. Coffee is only filter coffee , Turkish coffee and tea. The rooms are a bit small but very clean and they make up the room every day and change the towels. I really did appreciate that. If I return I will come back to this hotel.
- Rohan (9/5): Very good. Value for money. - Excellent location, walking distance to most of the main attractions. Accessibility to public transport. Reasonable breakfast. Clean rooms. Friendly staff. Breakfast lacks variety. Noise from the street below.
- Noemi (8/5): Great location. Comfortable. - Location. The hotel has the ideal location if you want to be near Hagia Sofia and other tourist spots. The staff were also very friendly. I love the fantastic view on the terrace where we had daily breakfast. Most likely, the value of our hotel was determined by its location. Booking.com should have given more choices for room sizes for those that plan to stay longer. We stayed for 7 days but we had a tiny room. It is not ideal for a couple staying over 3 days. The hotel didn't want to upgrade us either. Breakfast was alright but it is the same every day for 7 days, so it was best to eat something different daily. Maybe they can introduce one new dish each day.
- Che (10/5): Great Location to Stay near Hot Tourist Spot - Great location to stay. Near to Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque
- Barry (10/5): - Breakfast area overlooks the Sea of Marmara, stunning. Breakfast itself is adequate. Ramadan is a fantastic breakfast host. Room is adequate and cleaning is good. Hotel is very close to Hagia Sofia and Blue Mosque. Reception is attentive and helpful. No complaints about hotel.
- Amanda (10/5): Stay at Valide Sultan Konagi Istanbul - Very friendly and helpful staff, excellent location for sites in old city
- shafighe (6/5): - Nothing unique. The whole area of the room, bathroom/ shower is too small, even for me, and I am a petite person. The first room had a leakage in the shower. We were transferred to the 2nd room which was the same size (very small) with no Iron and a cheap facility.
Sorry, but I wouldn't recommend this place.
- Tim (9/5): Superb - Comfy beds, excellent shower, helpful staff, wide choice at breakfast, all in a location close to the major sights. No tea and coffee making facilities in the room, room a bit cramped, only one socket for charging phones.
- Reduhwan (8/5): Overall would recommend this hotel as the location and service was good. - Breakfast was lovely and the view was amazing. The service was friendly and very accommodating. The bathroom glass door was hard to slide and no exhaust fan. A kettle, coffee and tea in the room would have been standard. We felt this was missing.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Lovely stay - highly recommend - We stayed here for 4 nights. The staff are lovely and welcoming, especially Mr. Faysal and Mr. Ramazan "Rambo", who took the time to have tea with us and make us feel welcome during our stay. Location is superb, 5 mins away from Hagia Sofia so great if you want to get there early to line up for tickets. We really enjoyed breakfast and the view from the breakfast area is nice - you either see Hagia Sofia or the strait. Highly recommend this hotel if you're considering where to stay in the Sultanahmet area. We would return here if we are in Istanbul again.
- Nuly (7/5): Good - Location.
- Michael (10/5): Great location to explore the best sights - It’s all about the location, perfect for exploring the blue mosque area.
- Evelyn (9/5): Lovely hotel with great staff - Amazing prime location. The interior has a great charm to it and has been decorated beautifully. The best feature is definitely the staff, super polite and friendly. They have the sweetest old man on the breakfast service who makes the whole hotel shine. The bathroom has a slight stale smell but it was barely noticeable.
- Doru (10/5): Great Staff! Amazing price-service ratio! - Staff is great ! The guys at the reception and breakfast are the best. Overall good place to stay at in terms of location and the price is great for what you get! Room size was the only downside for me.
- Richard (10/5): Will return in the future to explore Istanbul - The Breakfast and View together were awesome. Everything was fresh and made that morning. Great way to start the day.
- Annajakubik_polska (2/5): Avoid this hotel - The room was cold, they cleaned poorly, after cleaning they constantly forgot to put water, tea and shower gel, shampoo, did not always bring it to the reception upon request. Breakfast was scarce, mostly vegetables and boiled eggs, cereals and several types of bread, every day there was an omelet from the heat. Cakes (only one type) were liked, there were no oriental sweets. From fruits are made wormy apples and sour tangerines. For 4 stars, a completely different level of service was expected.
- Ketevan (9/5): Superb -
- Ketevan (9/5): Superb -
- Baiq (9/5): Superb - Best location & beautiful view at the rooftop!
- Justine (10/5): Would thoroughly recommend. Would definitely stay here again - Incredibly local to all the main attractions in Sultanahmet square. We could see Hagia Sofia from our bedroom window. The staff are all incredibly friendly and helpful
- Kerry (10/5): Exceptional - The location was unrivaled for a short stay in Instanbul to see the key sites in Sultanamet- it is next to the Topaki Palace wall, one block from the entrance gate. (You can see Aga Sophia from there also, and it is just a few minutes walk to the Blue Mosque and Basilica Cisterns (stunning).
The staff could not have been more charming - Rasim in particular- and you can not forget Rambo and the rooftop breakfast room with views over the Bosphorus. There was nothing that I did not like.
- Sara (5/5): Passable -
- Mathieson (8/5): Great family run hotel in an excellent location. - The service was outstanding. Very friendly and accommodating. The location was perfect and could not have been more accessible to the Hagia Sofi, Topkapi and Blue Mosque. Breakfast was excellent and the top floor terrace lovely.
